Page 243 – Teamwork
Just like that, the tide changes. It’s true that Sun and Sabrina were showing some great, nifty moves in tandem, but now the York sisters have the upper hand. Odds are, that’s not great news for Sun. Then again, Sun and Sabrina might have a surprise or two for the twins. We’ll find out more come Monday!
News on the Graphic Novel
Pre-orders for the Rival Angels graphic novel should be starting any day now. I just have to make sure I have things ironed out with the printer. You’re best value will be ordering from me, but you will have the opportunity to order it from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. More on that soon!
Injury update
Remember when that car hit me? And it tore up my leg and sent flying ass over tea cup? Well it seems that I’m so much on the mend that I might take in a little golf this weekend and maybe, just maybe….ride a (different, obviously) bike.
Quick Harry Potter review
If you liked the book, you’ll probably like the movie as they stuck pretty much to the spirit of the book. All in all, an entertaining flick.
I really like to know.. ‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong.. is she the weakest link in ‘Ultra Dragon’? I mean Josephine York is 140lbs, 6″ height, same as Francesca York.. ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini weight in 135 lbs, 5″7 height. ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini cam match one on one against the York Sister. but ‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong. 5″2 height and 113lbs purely disadvantage of Sun.. if Josephine York executed ‘Brainbuster’ on Sun. 1….2…3…
I’m kinda underestimation Sun over here.. ‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong is a former CCW heavyweight champion, and beat Katy Canuck, but loss on her first battle against Katy Canuck.. Katy Canuck weight more than Josephine or Francesca, so there’s a possibility that Sun might win..
I’m sorry to say this but, at first.. ‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong “WAS” “Previously” one of my top 5 favorite Angels, but she’s declined almost out of top 10..
Panel 1-4: That’s the double team I was talking about! but still not as great like the Catgirls double team.. (Sorry)
Panel 5: I wonder why, Francesca tagged Josephine.. Francesca can could counter it. by executing a backsuplex on Sun.
Another thing, I also wonder.. is Francesca York is the weakest link on their team..
(Attitude Adjustment Questions)
review episode 180.. when Victoria Buckingham dropkicked behind Josephine from behind making Josephine collided each other with Francesca.. Did Josephine and Francesca argued after that match? I mean got mad at Francesca?
lets say Josephine again mistakenly hit Francesca? will they still be cool, coz they’re sisters.. will they be okay, no trouble with in the sisters?
here’s one..’Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong is hot head, let say in the double team, ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini mistakenly hits Sun with an Ultrakick.. will Sun and Sabrina be friends?
(mistakenly hit, are very common on tag teams.. example Diesel and Shawn Michaels.)
This could happen in this match..
Great action! Loved the foot tag in the first panel and then the reversal of fortune in the last panel. Hope Sun can keep it together. All for now.
Is it coincidence that this week’s match is involving YORK Sisters and this week classic induction at Wrestlecrap is featuring YORK Foundation ?
Youre missing something there though M.C.G . . . a good tagteam doesnt just tag out of necessity, if you wait till youre too tired to wrestle to tag your partner in your partner is essentially alone. They tagged because they knew Sun wouldnt see it, and even if she did, that close to the corner and with a York on either side they were guarateed that one of them would get a hard shot on her and take her down.
Â
Physically, Sun isnt one of the biggest or strongest wrestlers, but if thats what it took then all wrestling would be Andrés and Khalis. A good wrestler comes in all packages. How many times have people like Steamboat and Mysterio amazed the fans, defied gravity and left someone nearly twice their size KOd on the mat? All Sun needs to do is get a head of steam, and the York sisters will get a head of NINJA
Yep, just as much action as I figured – this is going to be quite a match! If the UltraDragons can keep the quick tags and the double teaming up (like the catgirls), they should be good to go, but now that the Yorks have tagged, this may be it for Sun. I doubt it, but maybe… So soon in the match, Sun should still have enough energy to pull out of this mess.
Interesting thought – that little thing that Damage Inc wanted Sun to do – what if it was throwing this match? Probably another plot by Cloe white stain de Sot to throw Sabrina off her game. If Sabrina gets injured in this match, she may have to forfeit her TV tournament match…
Yeah MGC. A side headlock is risky for Sun. Where’s she going with that? Nothing good (for her) that I can see. She might have something up her sleave though.
Great action here once again, boss. And thanks for the heads up about you hitting the links. I’ll be sure to stay FAR away! Mulligan!
A clothesline on ‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong, is took around 15-25% damage on Sun.. Sun is speed type, and hight flyer.. So per slam on Sun, it would hurt her easily..
I reall have to agree on ‘Celt Warrior’ Brenda Rua’s comment.. “A sideheadlock is risky for Sun.” Sun is speed/ High flyer not a technical wrestler.. We never saw Sun used a sidehead lock before, why used now?
Sun offense is bounces off the rope, and dropkick, springboard legdrop, wheel kick. those move but Headlock..
Can I smell Sun’s bad omen here?
I really can’t believe Sun..
Panel 4: Francesca York is already down, surely!
Panel 5: Sun pulled Francesca up and applied a sideheadlock?
I mean on Panel 4 Sun leaps over the top turnbuckle, then Panel 5.. Sun executed a flying leg drop off the top rope.. I don’t think Francesca can escape it.. coordination and precise timing.. Sun game plan is her down-fall now, if the ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong won’t fly..
‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini is making great in Panel 1-4.. Sun just destroyed it..
here’s one:
Why Sun applied the sideheadlock near Josephine York reach?
now Sun count change it into a drop toe hold, before the tag.. then Sun charges towards to Josephine and kick Josephine face.. SO Josephine will fell out of the ring, then Sun and Sabrina concentrate on the double team.
Hard loss to Sun here.. will be Sun’s tough learning!
the dark cloud already ate me alive! So Sorry! I can say York Sisters will win here! hard and tough decision for me! even though York Sisters are below.. way below on my Top 10 favorite angels..
::passes around the cookies:: Looking like a fun match so far. There’s nothing like inexperience to offset attitude and skills, but then there’s nothing like attitude and skills to offset inexperience. So unless the Yorks (bite them, Sun, they’re peppermint!) can do some major Wonder Twin Powers Activate, I expect Sabrina to be back in and shutting down their momentum soon.
MGC, are you doubting the Lil Dragon? Â I thought you had faith in her. Â Ah, good times with the HBK/Diesal breakup. XD Â The Yorks are still together, even after Josie’s loss to Victoria, so that says something, doesn’t it? Â Did you read their comments before the match started? Â They seem okay to me. As far as the tag, picking Sun up in the air probably isn’t the smartest idea, especially when you can make the blind tag. I see your bugging over the headlock, which is a shame, but I really love your enthusiasm. Â Man, that’d be rough if Sun got pinned on Monday, eh? 😛 Â And…. they’re called rookies for a reason.
Hey Darkmark! Â Glad you like the action. Â More on Monday!!
Well said, T-M. Â Both on the Yorks action and wrestlers in all size. Â Is it so hard to believe that guys like Eddie Guerro, Rey Rey and CM Punk are champions? (Not you, but others). Â I love when guys like HBK or Bret Hart are champs. Â I think you are also right that if Sun can get some momentum, then she can turn things around. Â The question is, if the Yorks will let that happen.
GhostEraser, you’ve a devious mind! Â We know that Yvonne has designs for everyone in this match, but we don’t know the extent. Â Could it extend further like you suggested? Â Heh. Â Glad you liked the action. Â You can expect some more on Monday!
Ha ha, Champ. 😛 Â You’re safest in the middle of the fairway. Â To the right or left, you’re taking a chance with my golf swing. XD Â
W00t cookies! Â Thanks Cookie Ogre. Â I’m glad you feel the match is fun. Â I do too. Well, not for Sun. You got a good read on the match and its different variables. Â We’ll see how it plays out.
@Albone..
Actually the headlock bugged me.. it’s kinda out of place for Sun making that move.. it’s like Quarterback on Lineblocker position. it’s not in their position.. more likely on Sun.. Sun’s a high flyer and speed attack not a technical wrestler..
Sorry Albone, since 226-229.. Sun participated it.. I kinda loss support on her, and Sun sank to Top 9 on my favorite angel, just below Loretta Diaz..
I don’t think SUn will get pin that fast on Monday.. Sun is tough, but York Sisters can bring devastating damage on Sun if she didn’t tag out..
Hey thanks for the cookie! Got milk?
::passes Brendarua a big tall frosty stein of milk:: It does a body good, especially when accompanied by warm chocolate chip cookies! How it stacks up against saying your prayers and taking your vitamins, only Mister Hogan can say.
Why am I not surprised at seeing Sabrina and Sun reminding me of the MCMG? Tag to modified boaw and arrow to set up the dropkick to set up the curb stomp… owie. Big owie. Smart move to tag out as soon as she did after that, and to do it sneaky too. Then again, last strip showd some classing heel moments from the Yorks so I’m not at all surprised to see it.
In fact, I’ll be surprised if we don’t soon see Sun in an abdominal stretch with the Yorks cheating to add to the damage. Shades of the Outsiders or the Brainbusters/Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard of the Four Horsemen if you, like me, prefered them in their NWA days.
Speaking of classic teams… please tell me there’s a team that will remind me of the Minnosota Wrecking Crew. I know you followed pro wrestling almost as long as me so you have to have seen Ole and Arn Anderson together and they were oten compared to that famous duo. Two strong, focused, vicious wrestlers that would spend most of the match trying to remove their opponent’s left arm from their body. It doesn’t have to be the same target, but that same focued intensity, no matter what. They had their game and they -made- you play it.
I saw the HP movie today, I have to admit, I haven’t read the books but the movie was entertaining… Although I had a person beside me that when it when to a black screen basically yelled; “You’ve got to be kidding me!?!?”
Also, they had a Twilight 2 trailer as well and she was all “Woooooo!”… a few times… seriously… glitterly Vampires, and angst… oh joy and rapture 😛
BTW, looking forward to seeing how this all plays out but I don’t see a win for the Upstarts… I think something will come to light in the ring and maybe Sun will take things a little too far… just a hunch
MGC, the headlock is one of the most fundamental moves in wrestling. Â I understand your criticism of Sun for using it, but it’s kind of hard to get around from using it. Â She can’t spot-monkey it all day. Â LOL about Sun falling out of your top ten. Â Yknow, Sun doesn’t like the fans for reasons like this. XD
Salazen, you always appreciate the subtleties of Rival Angels. Â The Ultradragons are definitely influenced by the MCMG so if they get the momentum back, you can expect some good teamwork in that vein. Â The Yorks definitely have an old school approach to tag team wrestling, so good intuition there. Â You want a MWC like team, do you? Â You’ll have to look no further than the tag team champions, who I’ve yet to be revealed. Â Probably not this season, but I will show them in the often delayed Rumble Awards.
Kurt! Â I saw that Twilight trailer too. Â Bleh. Â I like your read on the match so far and what’s coming. Â We’ll see how close your hunch plays out. 😉
