Page 252 – Change Of Venue
Moving the ‘Heaven and Hell’ Pay-Per-View from Pennsylvania to Paris, France is a bit jarring, most felt by the shocked and bewildered Sabrina in the last few panels. Sun’s doing her best to get Sabrina not to show her anxiety with little results. It’s finally too much. And in case you forgot, Chloe’s hometown is in Paris, France.
Sun is now in Damage Inc., or at least that’s what the deal with Damage boss Yvonne went. Sun’s probably not going to start bragging about that just yet. Maybe after Sabrina has a chance to get her bearings back?

I have some good points on this, Albone..
Â
Good Sun and Sabrina still friends..
Â
YAY!!! ‘REINE BLANCHE’ CHLOE DE SADE, hometown on the next ppv.. Chloe De Sade rides her private plane to paris, France.. hehehe..
Â
Backstage power, I might say.. a last minute change..
Â
‘Shinobi’ ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong being on Damage Inc.. bad for Sabrina.. reason, Yvonne Carmichael is the leader of Damage Inc.. so Sun won’t be staying the upstart locker room, she’ll be on a skybox with Damage Inc..
(TOUGH LUCK BROOKE!!)
‘Heaven or Hell’ Pay Per View, located Paris France.. Danger on Sabrina.. why? even the champ ‘Celt Warrior’ Brenda Rua lost to Chloe De Sade there, good thing it’s a non title match..
http://rivalangels.freeforums.org/brenda-rua-fan-thread-t58-60.html
Panel 4: it’s good of ‘Reine Blanche’ ‘White Queen’ Chloe De Sade to say to Sabrina “rest well” hehehe
Panel 5: Sabrina looks worried.. hehe.. if Sabrina didn’t provoke the Hell’s Belles. this things won’t happen to her..
hmm.. I’ve been thinking.. Sara Valentine and Sun Wong should be in tag team.. one dragon fire, by SUn.. while Sara’s elecric guitar and rock the stadium out hehe
I hope Sabrina requested ‘Celt Warrior’ Brenda Rua to be in her corner in Paris, France.. heaven or hell PPV
YEAH!!! HELL’S BELLES..
Â
ALL HAIL ‘WHITE QUEEN’ CHLOE DE SADE..
ALL FALL TO THE HELL’S BELLES..
Â
I’m thinking.. if in Paris, Frances.. the crowd will cheer on how should I cheer.. ‘REINE BLANCHE’!! ‘REINE BLANCHE!!!” Â HEHEHEH.. and the audience will bow down before Chloe De Sade.. hehehe.. maybe Chloe’s knights surrounded the ring.. heheheh!!
Â
and the question is.. in Paris, France.. I wonder how Sabrina mood will be? but I doubt it.. it’s hard to tell though.. I mean been booo’ed in Paris, France..
Â
ALL HAIL ‘WHITE QUEEN’ CHLOE DE SADE!!
ALL HAIL!!
ALL FALL TO THE HELL’S BELLES!!!
Â
WOOOO!!! HOOO!!! ‘WHITE QUEEN’ CHLOE DE SADE!!!
Oh yeah! I’d go back to France MGC. But Sabrina is gonna need more that me at her corner. She’s going to need escort the whole time because Helle’s Belles will do anything to assure a win. But for now at least Sun saved the day and made a statement too! YAY
Sabrina looks great in that second to last panel. For some reason, that dazed expression just looks so cute on her!
Yup, I got the “Gene Simmons” moment right. As for the change of venue to France, kinda makes me think you’re taking a bit from ROCKY IV. Keep working, Albone.
Big deal. No home town crowds. Not like it’s going to help Chloe much. After all, I think the Marquis is as French as french fries. She might be French Canadien, but that’s probably as close as it gets.
Maybe I’m wrong but… she just doesn’t feel like she’s really French for some reason. Must be because she hasn’t dropped her kendo stick often enough as she ran away. 😉
Wohoo! The PPV takes place in Europe!!
I’m glad to see a wrestling scene outside of America (being North or South, both are “usual” with Lucha Libre, for example), it’s great for European wrestling enthusiasts 🙂 🙂
I hope we’ll see nice scenes of Paris, many sites could host such an event: le Palais Omnisport de Paris-Bercy, le Parc des Expositions, le Stade de France, le Parc des Princes… I wonder where the scene will take place ^_^
And I hope the crowd will be split between Sabrina and Chloe: even being French, she’s the “bad girl”, so she shouldn’t get too much support 😉
And ‘Brina is the one to turn a crowd to her cause, so odds are even! I’m sure we’ll see a great match!!!
I actually worry about this, with the next PPV being ‘Heaven and Hell’ and reine blanche of course being off the hells belles, is brina going to do a heaven gimmick like HBK V Undertaker at mania?
Â
i have to say though al, you always know how to keep us surprised with these things, i doubt even TGT saw this one coming
I’m surprised nobody noticed the misspelled of Sabrina’s name to ‘Sabinra’, especially you MGC who like to overanalyze panel-by-panel.
I do have a bit of a logical question regarding the PPV.
How long was it scheduled to be in University Park? I ask because if people bought tickets for it already, there will be a lot of people wanting a refund and being fully entitled to a refund. Second, when is the PPV in relation to this announcement? Because if it’s imminent, then RA will be crying money tears because they haven’t had time to advertise it over in Paris, which could mean a poor live crowd.
The hometown/lack of hometown crowd issue is iffy. On one hand, we have Bret Hart during his heel days at the end of his WWF run. His gimmick was interesting in that while he was obnoxious as hell at the time about it, he generally didn’t say anything that wasn’t true. He was booed because he was Anti-American, and shoved the less noble aspects of the USA in the crowd’s faces. Perhaps not surprisingly, this made him pretty popular outside of America, especially Canada, where the pops he would get were incredible. The same happened with Davey Boy Smith whenever the card was in England… even when he was a heel, he was treated as a hero.
Chloe is from what I understand it a longtime heel, who has made a career out of being as hatable as possible to as many people as possible (well, except MGC), which one would think would dampen her reception even in France. Buuuut… there IS the instinct in other countries to cheer for their representative largely because they are often the only one in the company. Plus, the French are somewhat notorious for being rude to Americans (and to be fair, the USA gives as good as it gets there). So we may find the unusual situation of Sabrina being booed and Chloe cheered. Chloe would be sure to play that up, especially because Sabrina is so used to playing for the crowd. One gets the idea she hasn’t had to deal with an outright hostile crowd in some time.
I was wondering about the tickets/advertising thing, too. Also, large shows are booked a minimum of several months in advance — what kind of scheduling conflict could there be?
Well you definitely surprised me on that twist location! Can’t wait to see what is planned in the upcoming chapter 🙂
::gives Sun two cookies for partial credit:: I have to agree with Salazen, Chloe strikes me as about as French as a corn dog. I think we’re more likely to see Italians swarming to cheer for Sabrina Mancini than the French getting behind this cranially over-inflated pseudo-domme. Of course, laws of drama will probably trump my opinions here. ;) Seriously, though, Sabrina needs to start making friends and fast. There’s two other Belles and only one Sun, if she can get enough help to neutralize the crap we just KNOW the Belles are going to pull, then we can see what wrestling skills Chloe actually has. I also figure the Damage, Inc. angle is going to have some effect on this.
In the meantime, Hurray for Lora Innes!
Were you able to talk yourself into going to Paris? You know, for “research”?
well Sun showed those Belles you don’t dobut a dragon.but this change coudl be effective for one reason, if the crowd cheet Chole like as noted before has happen for heels who are in thier hometown or contry. if they doo boo Brina this might be very bad for her, she gets her energy when she needs it the most from here them cheer her on.if those cheers aren’t there she might not beable to dog as deep as useal and suffer her first loss in RA.
Sun breathing fire was pretty cool there. I also liked Sabrina’s “got hit with a chair face” as TCorbett said.
Is wrestling popular in France? I know England and Germany like wrestling, but you’d think the Parisians would look down on it. Any Europeans want to throw in their opinions?
BTW, preorder the graphic novel. Hope I did it early enough to get the sketch and all that, not sure how many people here already ordered.
Â
Well, I know wrestling at least *used* to be popular in France. Michel Bezy used to write a regular column on Euro wrestling for WRESTLING REVUE in the 60’s and 70’s and a lot of that touched on French wrestling, particularly the ladies. French women wrestlers also got photo coverage in RING WRESTLING and I’ve got a videotape with a series of transfers featuring a lot of the Gallic gals grappling. I don’t know how it is today, but at least it used to be popular enough back then.
Hey everyone! Â Just got back from Wizard World and I’m happy to say that I have never done as well as I have this weekend. Â It was amazing, and I have the blisters on my feet from all the work I did. 😛 Â Right now, I’m going to rest up, but make sure you check out Monday’s start of Lora Innes’s new chapter of Rival Angels.
Great comments by the way. Â Always interesting and enlightening at the same time. Â Per usual, a great grasp on what’s going on and what’s coming up. Â And glad the change of venue was surprising. Â Are some people mad about the change of venue? Â Just about everyone at Penn State University. 😛 Â It should be interesting to see what happens when Rival Angels comes back through those parts. Â And love the discussion about the French crowd, and how it might affect Chloe and Sabrina.
