Page 257 – Blowup
It’s starting to get away from differing opinions and getting a bit personal. Emotions are getting high and it’s just a matter of time before someone gets hurt, physically or emotionally. Or both. I know you readers are split on the debate going on in the ring. Do you back your friends play or look out for yourself? In wrestling, it’s usually a bit more of the latter which makes Sabrina naive or unique.  You’re not going to want to miss Friday’s update.
Like Lora told me, it’s never easy hearing hard criticism from such a trusted friend like Sun and harder for Sabrina to swallow. Not to mention Sun might be feeling a tad guilty about lying to her BFF which might be a cause of the escalation.
Wow! Got some hard shots here, both verbal and physical. The problem is too much false ego here. If I was their trainer I’d kick both their butts then make them drop and give me 100. On fingertips and knuckles. Then they’d arigato gozaimasita or I’d kick their butts again lol.
Sabrina is getting mad but Sun is basically throwing a tantrum.
WOW!!! ‘Celt Warrior’ Brenda Rua should train them.. not only in decipline, also prepare for ‘ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini VS ‘White Queen’ Chloe De Sade..
panel 1: nice Cameos.. Veronica Silvers.. is that ‘Celt Warrior’ Brenda Rua there with the pink belt! YEAH!! First glimpse of the champ! I have comment on Sun.. again!! Sabrina saved Sun’s butt in the tag team recently.. and now Sun that.. Sun did ask Sabrina for help, and Sabrina did..not to mention, being her tag team.. and also Sun agree on tagging Sabrina in..
I agree on ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini.. so if Sabrina got kicked out from the rookie! ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini welcome to stay on my home. rest on the guest room, listening to Oasis songs
Panel 5: is a breaker! ‘The upstart aren’t a team we’re a joke’ now Sabrina might think, that their friendship is also a joke.. combine all the fury that Sabrina have on Brooke + this. I smell ‘Ultrakick’ coming.. Ultrakick Sun.. hahaha!
Sun’s ego is burst up like this, is making the Hell’s Belles, Damage Inc are better team..
LET’S GO SABRINA!!’ULTRAGIRL’ ‘ULTRAGIRL’
here’s one question!
Why is Sun hate Monica Rumble?
is it because? Sabrina pay more attention to Monica Rumble than her? We didn’t saw Sabrina and Monica hangout from the past, but Monica and Sabrina “said to be friends”
Do you back your friends play or look out yourself?
in Rival Angels.. Catgirls and Brenda Rua really do look out for each other..
personally if asking that… I look out for myself!
Sun made a huge mistake, at the first place! being friend with Sabrina.. if Sun won’t like it to be a long term of BFF. Sun shouldn’t friend with Sabrina is she’s gonna treat Sabrina like this.. Sun isn’t a loner, Sun uses people to gain advantage in which in friendship.. that the worst kind.
And there goes the wrestling. It’s now pure fighting attacks now. This might turn into some ugly brawl. Or maybe ……………. umm, I think it’s better if this guy said it.
Â
Joey Styles: CATFIIGHTT!!!
Â
*ehm* Thank you Joey. 🙂
now see this is where it gets good, and also, i have to agree with sun on that last one, the upstarts arent a real team because brooke and krys have left even if not officially and sun and brina barely wrestle as a tag team and when they do its more like 2 on tag, aside from the tsunami when do they really work as a team?
Â
Besides which, brina get a buildup before she joined rival angels because its always nice to have someone come in with this huge buildup and then fail, thats what RA must have been expecting because she barely spent any time in the training cuircuit so while she was doing well she didnt develop any of the important skills into ingrained traits, like hooking the leg to quote her trainer. Now, shes not failed yet but that is in part at least due to the fact that she has people like sun watching over her, and shes almost lost before because she cant keep herself out of other peoples business. Once you set yourself up as the police force of the promotion and try to fight everyones battles for them youre going to get more people like monica rumble who will complain you didnt help them because you were that tired, or busy fighting for someone else, or injured fighting other peoples fights. its the road to a quick burnout.
Â
Back to the ‘upstarts are just a joke’ though, i cant see how this is going to please sabrina, but i also cant see much where you can argue against the point. Fridays gonna be gooood
Well, the throwdown is really heating up. Interesting dialogue from Lora. I’m still in Sabrina’s corner, but Sun has a good point about her needing to watch out for herself…but it’s that HEROISM that makes Sabrina unique and interesting, both to the fans in the strip and those of us out here. And I’ll bet Sun will see the light eventually. So much for that.
from the word ‘I do what’s best for me’ , ‘I do what’s right for me’
what if situation comes in ‘I do what’s best for me’ like Sun is the the number one contender for the TV Title against Sabrina.. ‘I do what best for me’ and ‘I do what’s right for me’ Sun will ambush Sabrina.. to gain the upperhand advanatge..
another word by Sun ‘We’re a Joke’
The tougest word Sun fired to a BFF.. this is saying the BFF is a joke.. coz ‘I do what’s best for me’..
many question are still in limbo..
1. why now? If Sun felt like this, she should have kicked Sabrina after the fatal four way?
2. remember episode 77! did Sun did ducked on purpose! so Sabrina got splash?
3. since when Sun felt this outburst of anger to Sabrina?
here one question/situation
if Sun got ambush by the Hell’s Belles, while Sabrina just watched it happen.. will Sun asked Sabrina “Brina! why you didn’t come and rescue me?”
speaking not helping people.. why did Sun help Sabrina? in the Hell’s Belles ambush? if Sun refused to help others..
just a follow up episode 253.. Sara Valentine is there? so do Sara Valentine do mingle with the fans? even though she’s a heel?
I hate to see ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini got injuried in the sparring, coz she got Xtina Carpenter to deal with and the Hell’s Belles..
Wow. To channel Kevin Nash a little bit, you two ladies aren’t getting paid for this match. Seriously though, this is rapidly getting out of hand. Sun is basically attacking Sabrina for the same type of behavior that she took advantage of in the match against the York sisters.
Champ, I think you’re experienced hand would be appreciated. Â If it’s any consolation, Marina is there and she’s generally responsible for these two. Â It looks like she’s seeing if they can ‘work it out’ so to speak. Â 😉
Picky, it’s getting rough no matter which way you slice it. Â Both girls in each state can only do more harm than good to each other.
MGC, it took Lora writing this awesome chapter for you to cheer Sabrina on! LOL Â But don’t misunderstand Sun; she’s saying what she’s saying partly because they are best friends, not because she thinks their relationship is a joke. Sun’s got the opportunity to express herself and she’s feeling a bit guilty for not telling Sabrina about Damage Inc. Â These two will have more to work out…like on Friday. 😉
Ha ha PS2kid! Â It’s possible that Lora wrote a catfight. 😀 Â Or it could be wishful thinking. Â Either way, more on Friday!
T-M, very good observations about the current state of things and what might’ve been going on behind the Front Office thinking (RE: Gabrielle) and their intentions of our little Sabrina. There’s more to that aspect that will come out as we get closer and closer to the next Monday Night Meltdown and the TV Tournament.
I’m glad you’re enjoying this chapter, Darkmark. Â Lora’s been working this steady build of tension. Â Friday will not disappoint. I agree with you about Sabrina and her personality. Â Its why we love her! 😛 Â But as you alluded to, it doesn’t make Sun wrong in her opinion either. Â Kind of a precarious spot to be in, eh?
LOL Ken! Â Good point but that’s how these girls are…. they don’t need money to brawl with each other. Â This is basically an argument times ten. Â I think Sun means well, but it doesn’t help that Sabrina is finding her comments tough to choke down.
You know, Sun, maybe if you’d stop this “all for me” attitude and tried at least acting like a team player, the Upstarts wouldn’t be a joke. Sure, Brooke is dead weight, but if they got Kristen working with them then they could be something to reckon with. I wouldn’t be surprised if Brooke found a way to move out soon anyway, since she thinks she’s something a lot better than she is. That or the Belles will recruit her.
Albone: Life is ALWAYS a precarious spot to be in. And thanks.
DM
Gee, if they do fall out I be on Sabrina side. I think Sun’s words make Sabrina tougher but also upset what Sun said. I think thing wouldn’t be good on Friday, Hope it not Sun knocking out Sabrina.
As usual, that age old issue of lack of leadership from the old salts, the pros, the vets, the big beasts, whatever you want to call them. It just seems to dog wrestling for some reason, can’t honestly think why? 😀
If all the young wrestlers did listen to the older guys there wouldn’t be any drama and without drama we can’t have pro wrestling 🙁
I can understand where Sabrina is coming from. She is from a very tight nit Rugby background where the team is more important than the individual. This means ‘brina is more likely to make that last gasp tackle that could hurt her more than the guy she’s mean to take down because thats what the team needs to win. She’s the girl most likely to pull a team mate up from the mud, slap her hard on the back and give her a good kick up the arse to get her back into the fight. Leading by example, sticking up for the team, etc, etc.
Sun is a completely different kettle of fish. The David Beckham to ‘Brinas Johnny Wilkinson. Everything that Sun has known and done has been on the basis of “here is the deep end, here are the sharks, use the other people’s heads to stay afloat!” She’s always been out against the world and the world has always been out against her. She isn’t used to someone having her back.
‘Brina’s problem is that everyone to her is going to be BFF and a firm team mate and will ignore the obvious alarm bells that tell her girls like Sun and even Krystin have alternative agendas.
Sun’s problem however is that everyone to her is never going to be anything more than a fair-weather friend and this will do her in bad in the future. By expecting disloyalty and betrayal, Sun is merely gauranteeing it to happen anyway.
Oh, one more thing:
This is going exactly how I predicted too, in fact I predicted this fall out about 50 pages back. I’m Prestwick and I’M AWESOME!
Sun is right about the upstarts, they were just thrown int the same apartment, Brooke hates Sabrina, no one likes brooke too much really. Kristen really couldn’t careless about being a team with anyone, she barely seems able to stand Brooke.hell no one in that group is even close to working together expect Sun and sabrina.in the end throwing such different people together has low chance to work out as a team. if no one stands in soon this may go out all fight cause neither seems to wnat to accpet what the other thinks.
brooke and krystins team is half out of hatred for brina and half convenience. once you get away from the early stages of an alliance like that theres not much to hold you together . . . i think its time the two of them had a talk and see whether theres anything keeping them from walking away from the B-list of the upstarts. My money is on no
I’ll back up Sun on this one, she is right on what she says and while Sabrina has a point on the backing up of friends, Sun is right in that she takes a lot of stupid risks.
Never have I been motivated to leave commentary on the comic itself. Not even a few pages ago when it looked like Sun attacked Sabrina. Fist time for everything, I suppose.
Anyway, Sun has a point. She does what’s right for herself, and in the world of pro wrestling, if you’re not part of a definite tag team, doing what’s right for others is dangerous thinking. Myself, I have few friends. I could count on one hand the number of people not related to me I consider genuine friends. I back Sun on this. You can have friends who back you up at every turn, who bail you out of the tightest spots, but at the end of the day, there’s only one person you can really trust: Your own good self.
Of course, if I were the one writing. they’d have a near 8′, 650 lb. literal giant breaking them up, making them do Death Valleys til they collapsed from exhaustion. Then, he’d throw them back in the ring and tell them to practice this move or that til he felt they got it right. But then again, I do write one-shot fanfics… I think I know what my next story is fanfic is going to be.
This story just keeps getting more interesting by the page. Long time reader first time replier. lol
Just got my Rival Angels graphic novel in the mail and I couldn’t be happier. I hear you are coming to the Baltimore Comic Con. Hope to meet you there! 🙂
Great point, Cookie Ogre. Â Sometimes to get change, you have to be the one to start it. Even though this chapter is heavy on Sun and Sabrina, there’s going to be some stuff with Brooke that you should enjoy. 😉
Darkmark: Word.
Prestwick, you are awesome and the Miz has nothing on you. XD Â Lora and I were twittering about your comments cause they’re deep. Brilliant how you compared it to other sports and brought up Sabrina’s rugby pedigree as well as the unique dynamic between Sun and Sabrina, and their stances on teams. Â Going forward, it should be fun to see how Sun, a lone wolf, fits in with a stable like Damage Inc.
Jenn, great observations. The debate continues on who’s right between Sun and Sabrina. Â You’re right about the Upstarts. Â They’re not a very functional group. Â Marina is there just outside the ring (she’s a trainer and Sabrina’s mentor) so if things get TOO heated she can put a stop to it. Â I think she’s seeing if they can work things out without a ‘parental’ hand.
T-M, you have some interesting observations and I think you’re right about Krystin and Brooke’s half not having much to keep them together. Â It’s a house built on sand.
Hey Daeron! Â I love the debate on who you guys think is right, or at least righter. XD Â Sabrina does take crazy risks that are best described ‘high risk/high reward.’ Â She *could* play it smarter/safer.
Hey hey, Tarrasque! Â Glad to see you here, but always happy to read your characters and stories over at the forum. Â Really it seems that both Sun and Sabrina have a point, its just on what point of view you subscribe to that decides who you kind of side with. Looking forward to your next story! 😉
Thanks for posting RAWF! Â Glad to hear you enjoyed your book, that’s awesome to hear! Â Be sure to stop by in Baltimore, it’d be a pleasure meeting you in person. 🙂
Prestwick i agree with you and i found your comments very brilliant like Albone, you got perfectly whats is going on with sabrina and Sun by comparing their background. Your observation made me realize its interesting that Albone and his team have realy think about that for their characters. Those personalities are well done and we can go deep in their reasons to act like they did, i realy like this 🙂
its a house built on sand in the middle of a tornado. and its a chuck norris powered tornado
Offtopic I know, but I’ve just been looking at the previews for the next WWE game, and they’ve put in a feature where you get to create a full ‘episode’ of one of the shows, right down to dialogue- which means, with a little bit of work in the creation tools, you could actually do Rival Angels matches in it straight out of the strip. Something I’ll probably be playing about with, and this match looks like a good candidate :)Â
Thanks for the nice comments, Svan. Â 🙂
LOL T-M!
Hey Majere! Â That sounds like an awesome idea! Â I’ll definitely bee looking forward and seeing if it can do just that.
Heh. Sabrina needs a Mancination, she’s practically channelling Cena. Hey I know, someone ought to do a console game of Rival Angels… wouldn’t that mean hitting the big one for you guys 😉
I’d LOVE to do a console game. Now if EA will just take my calls… 😉
