Page 279 – Ashes
Have we ever seen the locker room so packed before? LOL We haven’t seen most of these other girls since the Bonus Life Battle Royal or longer. Now who would that mysterious person behind Sabrina be? Friend or foe? Maybe the brand new Voting Incentive, which is a preview of Monday’s update is a hint. ;) Any guesses on what’s going to happen next?
Half of this scene was written by my pal and RA reader, Prestwick. If you are wondering just what Brooke and Victoria are arguing about, Prestwick has broken down the rivalry between England (Victoria) and Australia (Brooke) below:
Bottom Line: The Ashes is one of the longest running sporting rivalries between two nations. England & Australia.
The Ashes started in the 1877 when an Australian side visited England and beat them in a Cricket match at The Oval. Soon after, a mock obituary of English Cricket appeared in the English newspapers:In Affectionate Remembrance
of
ENGLISH CRICKET,
which died at the Oval
on 29th AUGUST, 1882,
Deeply lamented by a large circle of sorrowing

N.B.—The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia.This was too much for the Captain of the England team, Ivo Bligh, who promised to “regain the Ashes” which he did in the resulting tour in 1882-83. Ever since then the losing side has been honour bound to challenge the winners to a rematch.
The Ashes ever since has been held ever 18 months. Held between June and September in England and December and February in Australia (Southern Hemisphere summer is Northern Hemisphere winter remember!) and it has created some of sports incredible moments. Such as when Australian Batsman (what we call a batter, we call a fielder a “fieldsman”) Sir Donald Bradman strode onto the field in the 1930s and thus dominated Cricket until the late 1940s or when England all rounder (batter & bowler) Ian Botham almost single handedly won the Ashes in 1981 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjSDvdgTOzg) with first his superb batting at Headinley and then his incredible bowling at Edgebaston, Birmingham. I’ll never forget Shane Warne’s “ball of the century” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNIUjI_LINE) all the way to mighty Freddie Flintoff and his phenominal impact on the 2005 Ashes which were probably remembered as the best ever (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FhHTm9d3iNg ), hiding behind the couch so many times as I saw England win against the odds including probably the catch of the century ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rsy7rJKIwM – Moment G – YOU TRY CATCHING THAT WITHOUT A BASEBALL MIT!!!)) with england taking some incredible catches (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JD_nPRxoqXE)
And then in 2009, England regained the Ashes again after losing them in 2007. I could regale you with how Freddie Flintoff, despite running on basically one leg won the Ashes but I’ll just be boring you 🙂
It is one of the most passionate sporting rivalries in Cricket with both Australian and English fans absolutely fanatical about their team and winning/retraining the Ashes. It has created bonds between Australia and England that will last the test of time and has contributed a great deal to setting Australia on an equal footing with its former Mother Country. Other nations like Canada just don’t have such sporting rivalries to banish former colonial demons but Australia does. Sport does indeed heal old wounds and the Ashes is no exception.

I don’t think, Krystin wanna piece of Sun along with the Damage Inc.. Krystin is place safe type, but they’re surrounded by face angel.. Shannon McCourt, Veronica Silvers.. even Victoria Buckingham went back to her locker room.

one Question Albone.. Good thing Suzy ‘Love’ Cettina, didn’t came to strike a steelchair on Sabrina’s back.. as I remember episode 19.. Suzy got Ultrasplash.. not only that loss via count-out and and got no rematch..

I was going to say that Victoria Buckingham could of even said, “We took the ashes back and your career is turning into ashes after that loss. Great job Skippy. ”

im also thinking that maybe sun ISNT alone, it could be that all (or at least some) of the Damagers are there, possibly to deal a bit of damage to Sabrina, possibly with other motives, hard to tell with a scheming mind like that

figured who the mystery person was before the incentive. the looks of the others kinda gave it away anyway. as for why she would be there. she’s still living in the same place so why would she be changing in a different area either. unless she gets kicked out of course in the pages to come. and notice who JUST happens to be sitting right next to Brina all chummy-like eh, even while she’s keeping an eye on Victoria. Krystin even has the closed fist as she notices the new arrival ready to defend her new BFF Brina from a possible ambush. The “snake’s” plan continues.
I’m probably one of the few American readers here who got that before the explanation.
Ha ha ha, good exchange here. I keep forgetting that the Brits consider Australia the “prison island” still.

MGC, I hope it was a nice surprise to see some of the girls and yes, that’s Susy Love. I think it will be revealed why these wrestlers are in this particular locker room. Susy’s a professional, she knows that you win some and lose some. Â She’s got no heat with Sabrina, though maybe a little bit for Marina? 😉

T-M, nothing wrong with hoping. Â Sometimes, things just work out in Rival Angels. Â Of course, often times they don’t and we get hurt feelings and broken bones. If that is indeed Sun (lol), it seems the question is if she’s alone or not. Â Very good question.

Yeah, I was pretty sure I missed something whilst reading this until I saw the info about cricket. That’s what I get for not being English or Austrailian. Also, Sun- I mean that mysterious figure behind Sabrina looks really upset.
Never knew you be talking about The ashes. I do support England Cricket team. Great info about the ashes. Victoria is great. Laugh when Brooke say they cheated and broke the bat.
Not cricket news I know.. but rugby is getting put into the 2012 olympics.. and sabrina played for penn. state.. I would like the know how she feels about that? I almost smell a story line in there.. I am sure more than a couple rival angels probably played Rugby.. and we see how well “olympic gold medalest” can affect a wrestling career (go kurt go!)..Might that tempt any of them?
for some reason i never picked up that Brooke’s an Aussie. at first i thought victoria was playing PG with the ashes talk then i thought Brooke was talking baseball which made zero sense with what victoria was talking about because i couldn;t see Brooke following a non-US major sport. but finding out she’s an Aussie makes much more sense 🙂
as for the Krystin catch, i like the clever ones even if it leads to some EEEVIL plot. they tend to get forgotten about til “their plan comes together (TM Hannibal Smith)”

Poor Sun. Hope she’s got more than just herself there. Her clenched fists suggest she’s still angry, or maybe forcing herself to do something she doesn’t want to. Â Considering Kyrstin looks ready to lay into her, it could get really ugly if the Little Dragon didn’t bring backup.

It’s obvious that the new arrival is Sun. As for whether she’s friend or foe, I’d say foe with leanings toward friendship. There’ll be another powderpuff brush between her and Sabrina, with both of them wishing secretly that they were still friends. So much for that.
For the record, British people don’t generally say “off of”. Victoria would much more likely just say: “We just won off you.” 😉
