Page 289 – Dominance
Josephine, er, I mean Franchesca is showing a lot of skill against Sun though let’s not forget that this is her sister’s match. It’s effectively a two-on-one match here with Sun on the short end of the stick. Still no sign of Damage Inc getting involved. That’s not necessarily a bad thing. They don’t want to get caught cheating and accidentally get Sun disqualified. If anyone knows the ramifications of cheating, it’s Damage Inc.
Now, Sun is in big trouble. She was able to escape the wear down maneuver (the straight jacket/neck tie surfboard) but then got caught with the huge chokeslam powerbomb. Can Sun kick out? Will Damage Inc intercede? More to come on Wednesday!

Piledriver, surfboard stretch, powerbomb… Powerful moves expertly applied by the York sisters! It’s nice to see these moves as they’re really spectacular 🙂
To be honest, I’m not seeing Sun escape that last pin alone!
It’s obvious the York sisters exchanged places but what are Damage, Inc fellows doing? Will they let Sun lose in order to teach her some kind of lesson? My idea is that it’s not in their plans to let the York win…
Well that’s an unexpected turn of events 🙂 If Josephine or Fran really wanted to win she would of held down Sun’s arms with her legs and not go with that half assed pin. Just loling Sun into a fail sense of security eh? 😉
if anyone will save Sun.. I go for ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini.. Sabrina Mancini will rush into the ring, and help Sun..heheh!!
I never saw Sun losing this hard since in CCW.. Sun losing to Katy Canuck.. I don’t know about Sun.. a former CCW champion, then she’s losing to a York Sister, not only that.. where’s the NINJA’D?
Panel 5: Francesca York caught Sun. Francesca York executed chokeslam powerbomb on Sun..
first.. Francesca executed a piledriver, then Francesca pinned Sun, but Sun kicked out, as we seen in Panel 1..
Panel 2: straight jacket surfboard, I say! just damaging a bit there on Sun..
the powermove is the chokeslam powerbomb on Sun.. think of it! 6″0 ft.. Francesca York executed that, heheh!! good thing, Francesca York isn’t a powerhouse.. or else 1………2…….3… but still it took a damage on SUn..
I just of this: (hidden meeting.. Hell’s Belles and Damage Inc)
‘White Queen’ Chloe De Sade, requested that Damage Inc mustn’t interfere in Sun’s match.. and wanting Sun to lose here..
I don’t think, Damage Inc not interferring is no excuse on that Damage Inc gonna be ejected from ring side.. compare..
York Sister did an obvious switch! (didn’t got caught)
Damage Inc can used this tactic.. Kyra stands on the ring apron and distract the referee, as the referee approached Kyra.. Nikki destroyed Josephine which is she’s outside, while Yvonne hits Francesca with a steelchair inside the ring, then Yvonne executed her finisher ‘Gold Finger’ on Francesca.. when Francesca is down, Sun executed her finisher ‘atomic fusion’ on Francesca.
In the past we saw, Hell’s Belles..used some tactics to destruct the referee.. while Towers of Terror’s Johann used the referee to make it against their enemy.. while the Towers of Terror double team..
Damage Inc.. ah? they’re noob!
I go for York Sister for the win..
By the way.. Love the combination.. Voting Incentives..
Good thing that Chloe De Sade didn’t attack Sabrina Mancini in the photoshoot, and attack Brenda Rua also.. and Victoria Buckingham didn’t attack Chloe De Sade.. remember the shinai on Victoria’s head.. ‘English Cow’ 🙂
hehe!!
I wonder why ‘White Queen’ Chloe De Sade didn’t attack? maybe Chloe is just being nice, after the Rival ANgels match? I mean good person, outside the ring? ehehh!
oh! wait!
could it be….
I remember Sun Wong first loss in Rival Angels.. and I think, there Sun isn’t best friend of Sabrina yet.. now Sun and Sabrina are enemies, could it be another loss. I mean Sun can only win, if Sabrina is her friend?
– <just thinking> no harm
I wonder what’s Francesca York finisher? is it chokeslam powerbomb? if it is.. I say.. Game Over..
i’m going with tgt here. sun looks out cold but considering all she has to do is twitch to get a shoulder off the mat i think that is what bails her out this time. either that or the ref finally notices the mist- though it’d be tough for the ref to see it at that angle so going with the arrogant pin getting Sun off the hook scenario.
“josephine” gets up to argue with the ref, starts pointing at him with her left hand and ref says “Hey nice green mist you got on your arm there ‘josephine’ considering you weren’t the one i saw get hit with the mist before.”
Jul, glad you like those moves. They are pretty cool, eh? Damage Inc has played it cool so far because the ref knows/thinks they’re the bigger danger, so to speak, since there’s three of them. Can Sun kickout? You are on the money about Damage Inc’s plans and the Yorks losing in them. We’ll find out on Wednesday. 😉
Kurt, the York girls tend to exhibit an arrogant bent and considering Sun has been dealt with some heavy moves, plus the Yorks would really like to stick it to Yvonne with an arrogant pin. I will say that Fran could’ve went for a better pin, but she’s going for the quick/sudden pin directly after a high impact move.
Nice recap, MGC. Sun’s got hard times but she has been beaten down like this before and it was at the hands of the Yorks! (tag team match) Maybe they have Sun’s number? The question on why Damage Inc hasn’t been interfering will be answered. It could be as simple as them not wanting to risk a DQ or maybe a deeper plan. I’m very glad you liked the Voting Incentive! Chloe’s crazy but not stupid. She knows that she couldn’t start something with Sabrina for fear of being outnumbered by the Upstarts. Actually, everyone would be against Chloe in that Voting Incentive. Chloe doesn’t fight those odds. If Sun lost here, it could very well have to do with her friendship status with Sabrina. Interesting thought there.
jpiv, it would be a shame if Sun lost the match right here but I don’t think you could blame her. She’s taken a beating so far and essentially been double teamed with really no backup from her stable. But more on that Wednesday. The ref noticing Fran’s arm is all misted up would be refreshing. 🙂
Once again disppointed with Damage Inc, they are a HEEL stable not a face one. they should be distracting the ref or soemthing about now. Sun having trouble agianst a much fresher oppenent she wasn’t ready for.The Ref as like all refs is blind as hell. look at her arm! the mist is pretty much up the whole thing. no way someone with normal vision would miss that.
The D’incs are going to have to get in there soon, or Sun is gonna figure out that she made a mistake joining them. True fun would be if Sabrina beat them to the assist. 🙂 I’m not too hopeful about the ref noticing, these guys make a career out of myopia.
Some great poses in this page, complimented by some complex facial emotions while these two girls are beating the snot out of each other. I’d say this is the best page yet!
There’s heel stables and then there’s heel stables. Hell’s Belles already do the distraction-cheaty thing pretty well, and Damage need a different angle to stand out. From earlier glimpses I’d had them pegged as being violent, rowdy troublemakers, who break the rules not to win, but because they don’t really give a crap. Guess I was wrong though.
Maybe this is Sun’s REAL initiation test – can she beat the Yorks single-handedly? After all, surely Damage Inc. don’t want to be running around looking after members who can’t handle themselves.
Oh the other thing is you didn’t get to change the font colour on your: Tychia from Xylia for the Voting incentive text at the top.
Also, while there are alot of choices for the 2009 WCRCA, I’m not seeing too much love for my favourite wrestler, Sun 🙂
Jenn, I think you’re right about the ref and his lack of sight. The ref’s got his hands full with all of the girls outside though. Jenn, I promise you will get an answer to why Damage Inc isn’t getting into the mix but remember that the ref is probably expecting something from them, and Damage Inc doesn’t want to get Sun DQ’d unless its necessary.
Cookie Ogre, the jury is still out on whether or not Sun made the right call in joining Damage Inc. This match might help settle that once and for all. Sabrina get involved? She IS watching this match…
Thanks Trevor! I was happy with how this page took shape and its always a challenge trying to use a finite amount of moves in new and creative ways.
Sytgimoloch, this certainly could be Sun’s true initiation test. One thing I will reveal is that the switcharoo tactics of the Yorks is no surprise to Damage Inc. As to the true nature of Damage Inc, I will let their actions speak for themselves. 😉
Hey Kurt, thanks for pointing out the font color snafu. I tried to copy and paste from an earlier post and it didn’t really work out. It’s what I get for being slothy. What?! Not much love for Sun in the Supporting cast category? Come on people, VOTE FOR SUN!
Personally, I see The Hell’s Belles as much like Evolution. Brutal and quick to beat on anyone they hunt. They’ll use distraction when they can, but they don’t care about being DQed.
Damage Inc want victories. No DQs for them if they can help it. So far, there hasn’t been a good time for the distraction move to help out too. The Yorks are keeping to their side of things, as it were. Keeping their backs turned to their side of the ring or keeping to the middle of things to not give Damage Inc the chance. The Yorks know how Damage Inc works after all.
Still, when Sun grabs the ropes here to escape this pin, the time may be right. Here is where one of them makes a move toward the ringside York and gets backed off while the others move to blast the one in the ring. I can even see them dragging her out, and beating on both Yorks while the ref is distracted by the original one, forcing the more hurt one back into the match to at least give Sun some slight chance.
I have to say there are times where Jeff gets annoying as a color-man. I think it’s mostly because I tend to prefer the color guy to put out valid points even if done in an obnoxious manner — Taz and Jesse Ventura spring to mind here. Both heel commentators, both prone to making excuses for heel behavior, but the thing was that they knew what they were talking about. Taz especially is good at describing what a move does, why it’s a good/bad move to perform at that point, and so on. It’s really a personal druthers thing… Jerry Lawler got old on me long ago when it became apparent that his only real role was cheap laughs and to be a foil for the play-by-play guy. Heenan was better at it, because he did mix in the occasional valid insight or bonafide heel comment. Jeff… he’s just such a transparent idiot that I’d rather he shut up than keep talking. And I LIKE good heel commentary.
Salazen, that’s a good comparison between Hell’s Belles and Evolution. The power structure between the two groups was similar too. Damage Inc is a bit more like a business. They’re in the business of building up their ‘brand,’ and their clout, the kind that comes with winning. If and when Damage Inc makes a move, it will be pretty well thought out something that Sun herself is always known for so that in it of itself should produce a unique dynamic.
Adon, it’s a fine line with Jeff. He’s the heel commentator but many readers enjoy him, which is awesome! But this match is a little challenging because there’s no clear cut face/heel so it’s a little hard to direct Jeff. I hope you find him a bit more entertaining as the match goes on. 😉
