Chapter: Chapter 13 - Hostile Intent
Characters: Sabrina Mancini, Xtina Carpenter
Location: Angel Dome arena
Rude. XD So, Xtina was talking about Sabrina! Technically, but I don’t think it lives up to what Marina was talking about two updates ago. Of course, Xtina isn’t helping her cause by, you know, actually talking behind Sabrina’s back right in front of her! Xtina doesn’t *seem* very malicious but she does seem a little pretentious, at least in her dealings with Sabrina. Maybe vet/rookie mind games? I guess the big question is how Sabrina handles it. Anger, self-doubt, confusion? This match starts Monday!!!

Did Sabrina always have that back tattoo that we see in the voting incentive? I don’t recall ever seeing it before. What does it mean, by the way?
I am going to have to say rage, if she believes what Marina said is true then she is going to be fired up, of course this could just add to the lvl of mind games as well. The raging comment can be takin in many of ways, none of them good, lets see how Sabrina feeds off that, Xtina might not want to”poke the bear” too much or expertise might have to deal with an unplanned ” mad ultragirl”.
Sabrina is upset.
This will make good drama for us fans.
This is not necessarily good for Sabrina.

I have this vague feeling X tina’s level- headedness will give her an advantage in the match. Tune in and see…
Very good art, especially in panels two and five. Xtina looks three dimensional, a good use of color and shading on a two dimensional surface ( note the highlights in her hair ).

Sabrina will eventually learn about not believing people. Hopefully X-Tina’s cool head keeps her in the match.
Personally I think she should have bitch slapped her instead of face palming her into the corner. But to each their own. LOL! I like seeing the firey side of Sabrina and she needs to focus on that and not the sad part at the end worrying about what people are saying about her.
@Chris C. : I recall that from the very beginning. It has a meaning (light? speed? Can’t remember…).
Sabrina is upset and motivated BUT for the wrong reasons. Even if beating Xtina to win a place to the TV tournament should be a sufficient reason, I believe Sabrina will feel betrayed and shameful after her match, whoever the winner is. It’s hard but she has to find the resources in her to get over it until she can get back with her friends… At the moment, she is her only friend and motivation but she doesn’t work like that – she lives for others and fights for others: her greatest quality but also her greatest weakness!
I really like after this match…. ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini will ask the referee what is Xtina, what was Xtina talking about, as Zack answered it wasn’t talking about Sabrina.. then Sabrina learned the truth. Sabrina rushed towards to Marina.
Sabrina shouted to Marina “YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO BE MY FRIEND!! RAAAA”
Marina said to Sabrina “Ultragirl!! please don’t!!”
Then Sabrina ultrakick Marina..

and this is a bit challenge though!! Albone stated “‘ ‘ Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini won’t be a heel! no match what happen!” coz usually when this happen next thing happen.. Sabrina turned to heel! but this story! Sabrina won’t!! it will be really be a challenge..

I cannot shake the feeling that Sabrina is going to suffer the fate of so many cartoon characters who chase after everything full-tilt only to have their quarry step out of the way at the last moment. Honestly the way Sabrina is flipping back and forth between her emotions, I’m thinking that Xtina is onto something there… Sabrina’s head was in the game but now her heads is totally into left field… However will she get focused enough to even get this match started?

This looks good, They’re both hot and Sabrina is angry as hell. Seeing Sabrina Angry is sort of cute, like an angry teddy bear, I still want to hug her and pinch her cheeks (the ones on her face) . I don’t think Marina should have stirred the fire, Ultra Girl has been successful up to this point doing it her way. I think Marina could have stirred Sabrina up somehow out of her funk somehow without sending her into a blind rage.
kinda half to laugh at mopey Brina in panel 4. what sort of previously bad comment can come from “I guess i was wrong…you are going to have to worry about blondie.” that would kinda imply that before she had said “NOT to worry”. clearly evil manipulative trash talking insultsing commentary going on here. But it’s Ultragirl- she of the “believe anything bad and misinterpret anything good” that someone else says school of thought. either that or she wasn’t actually listening being too shocked by confirming that Xtina DID say something about her before.
Now she’s lost her angry edge and Xtina has already seen how easy it is to get in her head. assuming Xtina thinks Brina’s all there right now to begin with. i’m getting a bit of a current DX sort of vibe with Xtina here. smart alecky commentary and posing but from the face side of things.
surpsised Jeff didn’t toss in a “Brina’s seen the light!” kind of comment after the facepalm/shove though. Probably too stunned by the move to say anything though i bet.
Chris, she has had it from the very beginning. Is it weird that I think you’re the first person to ask about it? She was going to go for a ‘serenity’ tatoo, but opted for one that says, ‘Balance.’ It can be taken many ways. 😉
jabberwocky, thinking that Sabrina’s going to keep the rage-fuel she’s going on, eh? Certainly could as that was kind of a rude comment by Xtina. But Sabrina’s more mature than that, right? XD I can tell you that Xtina’s game plan would not factor in an angry Ultragirl.
Hey RDF! Thanks for the comments on the art. I have been applying some new art techniques, thanks to my buddy, Lora (you’ve probably seen her post a time or two. 😉 ) I think levelheadedness will always win out over not thinking aggression, but it looks like the first point goes to Sabrina with the facepalm. 😛
Picky, Xtina is a vet so she’ll keep her cool. Sabrina’s still young and fresh. She’ll get a better handle on how to read people sooner or later, but yeah, it’s going to be rough until then.
RAWF, the bitch slap would’ve been cool too. Honestly, I thought about it and went with the one that would personally make me laugh more. 😛 It wasn’t so much sad that Xtina was talking about her, but the realization that Marina was right. Up until then, Sabrina thought that Marina might’ve ‘fanned the flames’ a bit, but this is the proof she needed to know that everything said about Xtina was ‘true.’
Jul, that was poetically put. She lives with her heart on her sleeve and takes her friends and fans very seriously. As in now, she’s all fired up over what Xtina has been ‘saying’ about Sun even when that same talk about Sabrina being inferior wasn’t working. Match starts on Monday!!
LOL MGC! Sabrina might have to take issue with Marina if she finds out that it was all a lie. I still stand by that there are no plans to make Sabrina a heel. Sure, she’s not the overall fan favorite and she’s very aggressive, but she’s not getting heel heat. I guess we’ll just have to see how it plays out. 😉 You remembered Angel Soprano, eh? It’s true that she has her Bonus Life to cash in. Will she do it this match?
Hey Champ! It would be redundant for Sabrina to have a tatoo with something like Brenda Rocks, because everyone knows it. 😀 May be some more head games to follow, as Xtina is a wily vet. The art is steadily improving and thanks for noticing. 🙂
Thanks, Cookie Ogre! :NOM: Brooke has the sticky fingers, can’t leave the cookies alone. Sabrina is definitely all ‘pedal to the metal,’ but she’s not afraid of looking like a dummy, well, not TOO concerned. She should be focusing on winning but I think she’s a bit pre-occupied.
Great point, Kurt! Sabrina’s running the emotions here but there’s a chance that Xtina might outthink herself. Is it wise to anger Sabrina more? Maybe, maybe not, but we’ll find out on Monday. 😉
Trevor, she’s all hopped up on rage right now! Of course, you never know what will happen next. She does have every intention of kicking ass though and according to the voting incentive, taking her shirt off.
LOL Rorshach! An angry teddy bear is got to be the best way of describing Sabrina right now. XD That is a great point that Sabrina has been successful so far without resorting to becoming an angry lunatic. This could backfire on Sabrina and they’ll only have the benefit of hindsight. I do think if Marina had more time, she could’ve found a better way to get Sabrina better motivated.
LOL jpiv! Yeah, Sabrina didn’t catch that there was more or less a compliment in that, she just registered that Marina was right about Xtina’s talking behind her back. Sabrina’s definitely got some more growing to do to better handle these situations. Xtina is certainly channeling a cocky, DX vibe where she’s trying to be funny at her opponent’s expense. Expect some more insightful wisdom from Jeff very soon. 😉
I have a feeling when Sabrina gets a better handle on things, she’ll realize that a lot of the fighting is less personal than she’d like to make it. But that’ll take some time.
Yeah, it’s a growing process. She’s very young and rookie-y, but she’ll get it together, that is, if she can survive what’s coming! 😉
