Page 86 – Cannonball
Jul16
There’s Sun! Look out for that cannonball, it’ll get you. ‘Cannonball,’ is a nod to one of Sun’s main wrestling instructors, Cannonball Kyle Pallas who we’ll be seeing in the future and in flashbacks as it pertains to Sun.
So the mood gets lightened a bit and even Brooke isn’t such a cold heart to not get caught up in the laughter and fun. But, then when Krystin shows up, they’re all gone! Very mysterious. 😛 It was definitely fun to draw the girls laughing especially with the drama that’s been going on for the last few pages.
I really like panel 1. very nice.. look on top of Sun, we can see tha Sun.
and it’s is good to have fun and relaxing, it will put out stress in life.
So everybodies wet, surely Krystin will be wet on friday. and surely that grumpy Krystin will be pissed off.
I really thought, Sun will used the atomic elbow and hit Brooke. but instead Sun used the cannonball, to make them wet. I wonder that cannon will be used in her finisher, maybe her alternate finishing manuver. and with that cannonball, I think Sun is using it to piss off Brooke, since Sun don’t like Brooke.
I will say this, Sabrina always be having a fun time if Sun is there with her. that’s why I like Sun. one of the must exciting character, and mysterious character.
Sun really rule the day.. She’s a ninja princess. hahahah
Krystin is always the last to know, episode 28. she didn’t got any jellies, and the next episode she’ll be wet. how is Krystin gonna get wet. Sun, Sabrina and Brooke went behind Krystin and then pushed Krystin to the pool. and then Sabrina used the ultrasplash, Brooke just jump into the pool, and the Sun execute the atomic elbow to the pool. they’re all wet and laughing, except the grumpy Krystin.
I really like to see Sun, cannonball and hit Brooke.
upon seeing Sun executing the cannonball, I think Sun can execute ultrasplash perfectly too. 😀
Sun and Sabrina can be great tag team, and maybe be Rival Angels tag team champions, just by looking Sun and Sabrina mest up Brooke.
Panel 4, I bet Brooke is thinking. “wait until Sabrina get fired, and then I’ll make your life a living hell.”
LOOK OUT KRYSTIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love it when those chicks get ninja’d. awesome catchphrase.
I’m glad you liked panel 1 MGC, it was a tough one to pull off but I’m happy with it. 🙂 Grumpy Krystin being wet is like a cat being wet! Sun’s a smart cookie, she knew how they’d react to being wet. Its ironic because Brooke’s wearing the bathing suit and Sabrina’s in regular clothes. Sun IS the ninja princess and her and Sabrina seem to enjoy each others company. Krystin likes to be chill and laid back which is why she’s always the last to respond. Who knows if that will ever change. I think Sun and Sabrina will team up before too long and win or lose, I’m sure they’ll enjoy the experience. I think you might be right about Brooke’s look in panel 4 regarding Sun. Watch out Sun!!
Jamie, look out is right! Krystin might ended up going into the drink if she’s not careful, or at least wet. ‘NINJA’D’ is a pretty absurd and hilarious catch phrase if I do say so myself (and I do). I’m thinking that might have to be a T-shirt if I ever get into selling ’em. Hmmmmm….
oh absolutely! of course, there’s a lot of tees that could be made from Angels…
why is it that everytime sun appears something awesome happens?
sun is prob my fav girl at the moment, either barely ahead of or tying sabrina.
Jamie, my mind is ALWAYS thinking on this. 😛
Kieran, Sun’s just cool like that. Soon, you’ll just come to expect it from her. 🙂
I like that this episode was more light hearted then the ones in recent history. You can’t always have it be serious. A little comic relief is good. You do a good job of alternating between different emotional states, and different perspectives.
I didn’t notice the sun behind Sun at first, but that was nicely done. I also like the picture in picture effect in the first panel. I like that Sabrina is casual enough to not worry about her clothing getting wet, especially when compared with Brooke being upset that her swimsuit got wet. It’ll be interesting to see how Krystin responds to it, if that is indeed what’s about to happen, like everybody thinks. Or should I say, how quickly she gets over it? If she’ll hold a grudge.
Love NINJA’D. Like the idea for the T-shirts, but I probably wouldn’t be able to get a lot of them. You could always have a contest or show a couple of different ideas, and see which ones get the most interest. I think a simple black T with the Rival Angels logo might sell well, but I’m not in marketing, so don’t put too much stock in that.
I’m still thinking about that Vincent thing. It could be a problem if he’s a trainer or executive or something. It seems like he works in (or closely with) the company, and involvement with him could be considered favoritism. But, especially if he has a history of it, he could get in trouble for flirting with the girls. Sabrina can point out she didn’t know. And even if Brooke claims she told Sabrina, either Sun or Krystin (or both) can say that she didn’t and, possibly even, say she was trying to get rid of Sabrina.
I’m glad that you liked the page A Mouse and especially that this saw a lighter tone than we’ve seen lately. And it was a fun page to do, with the different angles. Thanks for the feedback on the T-shirts. Honestly, I’ll probably hold off on T-shirts for a little bit, but I do like the idea of letting everyone pick which ones they’d be interested in first. I’ll probably do a pre-order when the time comes. You’re on the right train of thought with Vincent and we won’t have to wait too long to see how this all shakes out.
“And even if Brooke claims she told Sabrina, either Sun or Krystin (or both) can say that she didn’t and, possibly even, say she was trying to get rid of Sabrina.”
Sun and Krystin can’t really *prove* that Brooks didn’t tell Sabrina about Vincent being off limits. Brooke could have told Sabrina without Sun’s or Krystin’s knowlegde.
However, either of them could testify that Brooke was actively scheming to get Sabrina fired, which would discredit any claims Brooke could make in this affair.
I think in the end the potential for an ugly mess is high and it certainly could degenerate into a she said/she said sort of thing. Its going to get worse before it gets better.
It ought to get interesting how Vincent is going to try and defend his actions.
Whether he’s secretly in league with Brooks or simply acting stupid, he could still come up with some fabricated story that can tilt everything any of the Upstrat Girls might have to say about the matter.
Brooke can’t prove she did tell Sabrina either. And the girls are together most of the time. So, Sun and Krystin could point this out, or, like I said before, say that Brooke was trying to get rid of Sabrina, and that would mean she obviously didn’t tell Sabrina Vincent’s secret.
If one person says one thing, and three people say another, the three people are more likely to be believed. Of course, Brooke could say that they all have something against her and are lying because they don’t like her, but she’d have to give some kind of proof of that.
And I think that the Commissioner would be inclined to believe Sabrina over Brooke, if for no other reason then that she is pushing the promotion of Sabrina. This could be skewed by whatever relationship she has with Vincent, but, since we don’t know what that is, we can’t make that assumption just yet.
It all comes down to who is most believable, and I don’t think that’ll be Brooke, and probably not Vincent either. Sabrina seems to be naive, and this could be a good thing if there is evidence of it. ‘Look, she’s done this, that, and the other thing (pointing out evidence of her naiveté); of course she believed Vincent when he told her he was a wrestler.’ Maybe she should learn better, but a lot of naive people don’t.
It usually does get worse before it gets better.
