Page 89 – Proclamation
Whooo! Brooke and Krystin are raring to go! The Catgirls look like they’re eager to get the match going too. Krystin’s comments are a play on wanting to talk strategy with Brooke last update, but got drenched instead. Actually, I was inspired by a Steiner Brother interview from way back in the day back when Scott Steiner had long, natural color hair as opposed to what he’s sporting these days. So what do you think are Krystin and Brooke ready for The Catgirls?
Before the action gets going though, we’re going to check on another Upstart girl next update and a little bit of a lecture that she’s in store for.
The Hell’s Belles seem awfully confident, with two members in the Television Tournament of taking home the new gold. Curiously, Chloe is not in the tournament herself but we’ll find out why that is in time. Last update, we found out that Kat was facing Monica Rumble but Jennifer has to wait until the end of the Sabrina/Loretta match to find out who she’ll be facing in the tournament.
VOTING INCENTIVE UPDATE!
Speaking of Miss Monica Rumble, the opponent for Kat Smith in the TV tournament is the new Voting Incentive, so if you’d like to see a new Rival Angel, go ahead and vote. Hey, why not vote on each voting site, eh?!
So “The Red Jen” Jennifer Needles, will fight the winner of Loretta versus Sabrina. I wonder “The Red Jen” Jennifer Needles, can handle Sabrina. it kinda worries me as a Hell’s Belle fan.. I’m really counting on Sabrina to win against Loretta, so she can gain more confidence and basically revenge after what Loretta had done to her in the development territory.. but when it comes down to Jennifer Needles versus “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini.. I really like to see Sabrina get squash, totally K.O., Tap out..
I still don’t know Jennifer Needles and Loretta Diaz wrestling style, so I can’t analyze. or giving a tip for “The Red Jen” Jennifer Needles…
Sorry, for giving a nickname for Jennifer Needles, no harm.. 😀
Jennifer is kinda like Red Sonja, but with different outfit 😀 at panel 1:
Brooke and Krystin, just run towards the ring, without an entrance song.. hahhahha..
Last Panel: Why is Jeff calling the catgirls Fossils?
Krystin and Brooke, had no strategy. I really agree, they’re great in individual matches.. Brooke has the power while Krystin got the technical skills. I really like to see Krystin improve her game here, not like in the fatal fourway, she really really suck.. there.. no strategy which means they’ll use what they’ve mastered in the ring, what they’ve specialize as individual competitors.
if Brooke or Krystin can isolate the catgirls, make the game as a one on one match up. surely catgirls will lose, Brooke can trample the catgirls..
Catgirls will need some planning..they only got speed and tag team expirience in their advantage.. I will suggest catgirls will play mind game on Brooke and Krystin, make Krystin and Brooke mad at each other. like if Brooke need a tag. one of the catgirls tripped Krystin down, so Brooke can’t make a tag. and double teaming and isolating Krystin I might suggest. Give Krystin a double chokeslam, doomsday device.. if possible request move to the Catgirls, Combination of a crippler crossface with a walls of jericho..
Last Panel: where are the Hell’s Belle, they just disappear? are they at the announce table as a guest with Jeff and Dawn? or back to the skybox?
The fun just getting started.. ahahahhahha…
Panel 4 is TERRIFIC, Alan!
Before the action gets going though, we’re going to check on another Upstart girl next update and a little bit of a lecture that she’s in store for.
So on the next update, we won’t see the fight yet? we’ll gonna see Sabrina or maybe Sun will get some lecture.. whose gonna give the lecture? Marina again? or maybe their couch, .. maybe a lecture on Sun.. advicing her to modify her atomic elbow, 😀 I’ll be supporting Sun. and as for Sabrina, I’ll support her against Loretta Diaz, but surely I won’t support Sabrina against Jennifer Needles..
It’ great.. so the fight starts on Monday and end it on Friday? I guess? then another match start..
Great! We’ve started the tag match. I think it would be good for Brooke to lose, maybe the catgirls claim Sabrina asked them to win, just to wind Brooke up.
Things i wanna see:
Lets see a double pin for the ending rather than a submission 😛
I expect (and hope) to see lots of corner work from the catgirls as they blatently cheat!
Plenty of trash talk 🙂
(Oh and this is the same Matt as before, new email address. I added you btw)
MGC, I think the nicknames are cool! I”m happy that you’re enjoying the characters so much that you do that. 😀 Jeff’s picking on the Catgirls cause he’s kind of mean and the Catgirls are over as faces. Brooke and Krystin aren’t out and out heels, but they’re still more of Jeff’s not-face attitude that he enjoys. The Belles went back to the their locker room so Kat can get ready for her match with Monica Rumble. I took the liberty of not showing it in the interest of time and space (like Star Trek!). The tag team match will be in swing come Monday and packed with action.
Thanks Dan!
Hey Matt! I’m not sure Brooke needs to be wound up any more than she does herself. 😛 You won’t have to wait too long to see The Catgirls in action. 😉
Hey. Just started reading a few days ago and love the story so far. I’ve noticed some Mexican/Japanese touches to how you handle the matches, like the 20 count outside the ring instead of the American 10. Well, unless it’s been changed since I was able to watch regularly. Not that American wrestling boithers to count often anymore, but hey.
I love Ultragirl. It’s nice to see an old fashioned face wrestling again, even in a comic.
Sun is awesome too. She strikes me as a tweener more than either face or heel. She just feels like she’ll be viewed as a face more than a heel, despite her dirty tactics, sort of like Hogan was back when he was big. Plus, she’s already got a chatchphrase: You got Ninja’d!
I sort of feel sorry for Krystin. Technical wrestlers have a hard time getting over without something to really push them. Everyone seems to want chair shots and flashy moves and overlook the far better show of a skilled technician slowly breaking someone down with a chain of holds.
As for Brooke… so far she’s the exact reason why I don’t like the WWE Divas. She thinks with her boobs when she should be focusing on training her power and pounding folks to jelly. Love her as a heel though. It suits.
As for the coming tag match, Krystin needs to step up her game. If they’re going to win against seasoned veterans, they’re going to need her skills to manage it. Catgirls sound like they’ll be a fast team, like the Hardys. That means that they’ll run circles around Brooke and the powerhouse will have a hard time hitting anyone unless Krystin can slow them down for her. She needs to lock on holds and then tag while the Catgirl is grounded so Brooke can hit them hard. If they can’t work together, it’s going to turn ugly in a hurry and however it happens I suspect Brooke will blame Krystin for a loss.
Welcome Salazen!
I’m glad that you love the story and you really came at a great time with the fight card about to start up. The ‘normal’ 10-count is lame. With the action that I like to put into Rival Angels, there’s no way that 10 seconds is enough time. And you’re right about the feds that bother with counting when it suits the angle.
Right on about Sabrina and Sun. Your take on Sun is pretty solid, just wait til she fights School Sara Valentine, especially with the perceived Hogan-ness. I’m going to have a T-shirt with NINJA’D on it. Haha!
Krystin does have an uphill battle to climb, plus she’s kind of non-plussed with the crowd so that’s not doing her any favors. The grumpy thing is kind of endearing to us as readers, but not so much with the fans. And Brooke, well, tis probably going to get worse for her before it gets better which is purposefully cryptic and make a lot more sense later on. She’s a fun heel.
Your strategy for Krystin and Brooke seems way better than what they have cooked up (Need No Strategy) but we’ll see how it goes. Krystin can do some damage if she gets her hands on The Catigirls and we know Brooke could probably break them in two if she gets a chance. All about teamwork in this match.
Glad to have you on board and thanks for the comment. 😀
“Declawed!” heh. i have a feeling brooke spent the last 30-45 minutes thinking that one up…
panel 4 is good, but krystin looks a little off to me. maybe her perspective or the visible hand being swung forward with the forefront leg… i dunno.
the second panel is awesome. nice perspective and with a little of the belles on the tron. tron’s awesome.
Brooke’s a lot of things but a witty exchanger isn’t one of them. XD Thanks for the critique I think the leg of Krystin kind of throws it off. It kind of hits the weird spot on my perspective grid. And actually her arm would be really long like that. I found the tron is a nice touch to the environment and I’m glad you dig it.
MEOW! 😉 They’re in pink; interesting. Not what I would have pictured at first, but it works, too.

But M.G.C. that would not be Ultragirl. That spitting in the face stuff I mean. Ultragirl is a babyface. She needs to act like it. She’s been acting like a Tweener lately. That’s the core of her advice. Ultragirl -was- a confident and aggressive wrestler without ever sacrificing her beliefs and her drive to succeed and doing it fair and legit. She hasn’t been any of those things lately.
