Page 91 – Hard Lessons
Ouch. Not such a great debut as a tag team for Krystin and Brooke. Like Dawn (the commentator in gold) suggests, it might ‘ve been in their best interests to work out a better strategy than winging it. In this instance, experience won out over size and power, and as they say, there’s no substitute for experience. The Catgirls are wily veterans and proved it against an inexperienced team. And in case you’re wondering, Brooke is the one that cried her surrender.
So where do Krystin and Brooke go from here? They’ve yet to notch a victory in Rival Angels and that’s not a good thing when ratings, points and merchandising is considered. We’ll be seeing more of Krystin and Brooke before the fight card is over.
Next update, Lil Dragon Sun Wong vs. Sassy Schoolgirl Sara Valentine and some of you have already predicted a big win for Sun. Is it big love for Sun, or lack of confidence in Sara Valentine that would make you come to that conclusion?
SQUASH!!!This really a squash match.. I estimated the time is 12minutes..
Goodthing, My vote win. YEAH!!.. 😀
Catgirls WIN…FLAWLESS VICTORY…
The catgirls really tussle Krystin and Brooke. and Rose Ryoko really got her wish.. “Looking forward tusslng with you” Rose Ryoko said.. which they won.
Panel 5: is that the move that used to make Brooke tap out? What’s the catgirl’s finishing move?
Base on the last episode.. on the T.V. we saw Rose Ryoko dropkick Brooke. so I assume, that Brooke and Rose Ryoko were the first to fight in the ring. when Rose dropkick Brooke.. I would say, Rose quickly tag Snowkitten. in which we saw in Panel 1. I think within just two seconds, Snowkitten quickly tag Rose Ryoko again and which they execute the spike piledriver. I really don’t know the detailed how Krystin got in, and how Brooke tag in? is it Brooke knocked Rose Ryoko down, and then the tag? or the Rose Ryoko gave Brooke chance to tag Krystin? I think Rose Ryoko, gave Brooke a chance to tag Krystin, coz looking at panel 3, the catgrils still fresh.. When Brooke tag Krystin, Krystin rushed towards to Rose Ryoko, but Rose Ryoko gave Krystin a dropkick, then Rose quickly tag snowkitten and which they execute the double bow and arrow? then again snowkitten quickly tag Rose Ryoko. which they again double team, which the Rose Ryoko execute walls of jericho and Snowkitten executed the camel crotch.. I really think Krystin can’t take those punishment, so Krystin decide to tag Brooke, even Brooke didn’t agree to tag. Brooke just walk in back into the ring, in which the catgirl, finshed off Brooke.
Panel 1: Brooke in trouble, where the hell is Krystin, why she didn’t help Brooke? maybe kicking one of them, to reduce the time damage.
Panel 5: Brooke must edure bit longer, before tapping out.. and maybe wait for Krystin to rescue her. and where the hell is Krystin..
Very Sad for Brooke and Krystin.. specially for Brooke. 3 straight loss.. In the fatal fourway, she got pinned, then here she tap.. this will be very sad for Brooke, spend a year in the development territory then loss… while Sabrina got 2 win.. Brooke will be furious if Sabrina win this match against Loretta.. why? The reason Sabrina always get the win, and other hand Brooke loss, the and comparing strenght and expirience in development territory. it’s kinda self-esteem killer..
Sun “Shinobi” “Lil Dragon” Wong VS “Sassy Schoolgirl” Sara Valentine… here’s my winning vote…Sun “Shinobi” “Lil Dragon” Wong” 😀
“IKE!!!!SHINOBI”
Alan… Why is this match ended in just a page? 🙁
🙁
I really like if it’s deteiled specially the tags..I really wish Sun VS Sara’s match will be detailed.
Can we know what “Sassy Schoolgirl” Sara Valentine stats? and even the catgirls individaul stats.. 😀 I’m very cuirous.. hahah
and by the way, since Sun, Sabrina, Brooke and Krystin are friends.. why is that Sabrina didn’t comeout and help Brooke and Krystin. they’re the “Upstart girls” right? why did Sabrina didn’t support them both.
Comparing upstart girls to the Hell’s Belle… Chloe, Kat and Jennifer always together.. It’s like Sabrina, Sun, Brooke and Krystin isn’t supporting each other..
speaking of which, What if Sun loss… 🙁
while Sabrina win against Loretta..
There will be a problem in the apartment. Sun/Krystin/Brooke will ignore Sabrina. silent treatment, jealous will rise up the apartment. and on the next monday (Rival Angel time) surely they will make Sabrina lose will take out Sabrina’s carreer. and maybe Sun/Krystin/Brooke will join the hell’s belle. hahahha.. (Sorry, got pump up here)
But if Sabrina also loss here, I don’t think they will be mad at Sabrina, since Sabrina already had a loss record, so they mostlikely prepare themself on the next match..
I just can’t believe it, that Brooke tap out…
By the way Alan, how come the audience didn’t cheer?
and here’s a cheer for Brooke..
“YOU TAP OUT!!” “YOU TAP OUT!!”
Ultra-Boobs Tap out… hahhaha..
Nice page. But i have to agree with MGC, why end the match in one page 🙁 I was really looking forward to seeing a lot more tag action.
Even so its pretty cool. Im interested to see how Sara Valentine does? 🙂 Maybe the whole upstarts will lose and have a really bad night
This could be very hard moments to Brooke, she could be thinking of quiting Rival Angels..
Maybe an advice to Brooke, so Brooke will still have a fire to fight.
Message to Brooke: Next Monday (Rival Angels Time).. just stay put and relax, after Sabrina match, rush into the ring, and nail her with a steel chair, then give her a vertibreaker. then challenge her for an “I quit match” that’s making a statement. and which she can change from face to heel.. Since she don’t like Sabrina, maybe tha’s a goodtime to channel all of her faustration and anger into that match. or better yet, challenge Krystin for not helping her. sometimes making a statement in wrestling really change the tide for a straight loss. and here another advice no more doughnuts, go to the gym.. or maybe raise some hell in the ring.. I think most of the wrestler do that when they got straight losses.. Like Eddie Guerrero loss straight to Rey Mysterio. he really change plans, change tactics.. maybe Brooke need that, go to your confort zone, if you like to cheat go ahead.. but the audience want, make a statement call on challenge, rise hell.. the best you challenge Sabrina. 😀
MGC, I think your imagination was able to fill in the blanks on what happened in the match nicely. This is a big loss for both Krystin and Brooke. They’re used to being more successful and NOT used to be being beaten around like a pair of jobbers. As far as Sabrina not being at ringside for this match, do you think that Brooke and Krystin would want Sabrina at ringside? You mention how the dynamic at the apartment may go, but you’re assuming everyone still has a job after this night. As far as why no crowd effects, its because the match was over before it began and really, I didn’t want to rub in the fact that people would be cheering for The Catgilrs on top of Krystin and Brooke losing. “Ultra-boobs taps out” is hilarious!
For Brooke and your suggestion, its not a bad suggestion. It would get her some quick heat with the crowd and up her importance in Rival Angels and may also be a needed change in attitude.
Thanks Matt! As far as why this match ended in one page (though a six panel) is that the team of Krystin and Brooke just weren’t good enough to last any longer. The point here is that they were way outclassed from the get go, which you have to think Gabrielle knew when she made this match (after Krystin opened her mouth). VERY possible for a bad night for the Upstart girls, and we’ll see the start of that match next update.
which you have to think Gabrielle knew when she made this match (after Krystin opened her mouth)

Hahahha… Hard Lesson here is that.. “Don’t Cross the Boss”
so? the catgirls are the number 1 contenders for the tag team title right?
Really like to see them in tag team title match…
do you think that Brooke and Krystin would want Sabrina at ringside?
-Albone
I would think, Sabrina will give them moral support, since she’s undefeated. cheering for Brooke and Krystin, even though Brooke don’t like Sabrina. if Sabrina supported them, and maybe Brooke and Krystin win. I think Brooke will stop that planning of firing Sabrina. or maybe not Sabrina, let’s say Marina for instance, since she like to help the upstarts. an outside support sometimes can change..
Let’s Say Sabrina or Marina will be in ringside cheering up Brooke and Krystin, surely the catgirls will be aware of Marina or Sabrina being in the ringside, there might be an interferance. so the catgirl will causus about it, and there’s a posibility that Brooke and Krystin can turn the tide and win. 🙁
eventhough Krystin and Brooke aren’t ready to listen on Marina.
You mention how the dynamic at the apartment may go, but you’re assuming everyone still has a job after this night?(sorry didn’t quiete get this point)?
is it that Krystin and Brooke gonna get fired?… Krystin can be… but Brooke, I really like to give her last opportunity..maybe like Armando Estrada did to Colin Delaney, no contract sign until Brooke got the win..
I really hope to see the “Atomic Elbow (Shuriken Elbow)” by Sun.. We still haven’t seen that..
Come ON… Sun.. Come On…. Shinobi…. 😀
Kee-ripes! I was wondering how you wre gonna cram three matches in.. considering the last match went on for weeks. Nice fast pace! I love the double bow and arrow. I can just see Krystin and Brooke frantically reaching for tag after tag. Hopefully they see this as a big lesson instead of starting a big hissy fit fight. Even if they had a strategy, the Cst Girls would still have one (perhaps not so one-handedly).
Well drawn, too.
I think the best thing that could happen to Sabrina right now would be if both Sun and her win her matches tonight…
So far, there hasn’t been any serious rivalry between Sun and Sabrina, and with Sun finnally gaining a victory for herself, there’s no reason for any rivalry to develope any time soon.
At the same time, Brooke and Krystin would probably be furious, blaming each other for their defeat, thus driving a wedge beteen them.
Brooke would probably try to take out her anger on Sabrina, getting more aggressive in her attempts to sabotage Sabrina’s carreer. And being driven by hot anger (rather than cold hatred as befor) she might get sloppy and screw up/get caught.
Krystin, however might actually drop her “I don’t wanna know” attitude and start to actively sabotage Brooke’s machinations, which would ultimately push her into Sabrina’s corner and leave Brooke isolated.
MGC, Don’t cross the boss!! Indeed! I think that Krystin and Brooke wanting Sabrina at ringside with them is being optimistic. As we saw on page 85, Brooke really doesn’t like Sabrina at all. If Sabrina were down at ringside, I think Brooke would think that Sabrina would be trying to steal their spotlight.
Thanks Jamie! Glad you liked the moves. The condensed match is a must as far as keeping the story going forward. For all of the fans of Krystin and Brooke, if they move up the card, they’ll get more time. And yeah, I hope they can learn from this lesson and not turn on each other. The Catgirls still probably would’ve beaten Krystin and Brooke even if they did have a plan and I agree that it at least wouldn’t have been so one sided.
JackAce, I agree with you on Sun and Sabrina’s relationship and I think we’re going to see the two of them together after the matches to get a glimpse of their relationship. We’re going to see how Brooke and Krystin handle this loss in a little while too and see where they’re going to go from there.
Very active, very kinetic episode, I get the sense these are the highlights from what, a five minute match? If that?
Panel one: That has got to hurt. Bad.
Very good storytelling technique in the hair. The Catgirls’ hair is still in place while Brooke and Krystin’s hair is even more mussed up than after the four way match.
The Catgirls clearly know what the other will do in any situation, they instantly know what to do next. Check out their facial expressions, they are having a fun time of it all putting the Upstarts away.
MGC’s observation about this being a lesson from Commissioner Gabrielle is spot on… because Sun *didn’t* make any special demands I imagine the matchup with Sara Valentine is more even. Deep down, I favor Sun ’cause I get the impression she truly wants to win and has thought this out.
Thanks RDF! Great observations on the match. I’m glad that you caught the little details, like the look on The Catgirls face during the match and the difference in hair at the end. And that The Catgirls know each other so well that they can anticipate each others actions.
Good to see the established tag team dominate. I also thinks it’s wise just to get Brooke more and more bitter over Sab’s success.
As for the next match, it’s prob.the match I’m most interested on the card. Knowing nothing about Sara Valentine other then her gimmick is leaving me with a lot of question to how the match will go. She could be enhancement talent just sent out there to push Sun or she could a rival in waiting. Also, as much as I love Sun, she really benefited from the fact the last match was a four way as much of her offense was ninjaing people left and right lol. Also, there’s the fact she lost her first match and even Sab. got a count out win, so it appears the roster is full of tough talent.
All that being said, I hope it’s a good match since Sara Valentine’s Candy Cane look makes me want to root for her, just to bad she’s facing my favorite character ;.;. lol
I would think that Sabrina is too busy preparing for her match to be visibly supporting Krystin and Brooke. Both Sun and Sabrina have to mentally prepare for their respective matches, so I don’t think it would be a good idea for either of them to be distracting themselves by cheering for Krystin and Brooke. Even if they wanted to, it could too easily cost them their matches for it to be worth it.
I think Brooke will blame Krystin. That seems to fit her personality. I can see Krystin shooting back that they should have practiced, but I can also see her just taking it to not cause a bigger conflict. I think Krystin is more likely to learn a lesson from the loss than Brooke is.
I’m rooting for Sun and Sabrina to win their matches. Or, at least, have a good showing. I think it would be good for Sabrina if she won against Loretta so that she can get past that. And it would be nice for Sun to win to show that it was a good thing that she didn’t demand something. It would make any lesson that Krystin and Brooke might learn all the more poignant.

Luckily Nappavegeta, you won’t have to wait long for Sun’s match with Sassy Valentine! And you won’t have to wait long to see how Sun fares, though I should warn that her match won’t be over in one page, and actually won’t wrap up until next week! Spoiler? I hope not. You can bet that bottom dollar that this Rival Angel roster is tough so even in a beatdown like the the one Krystin and Brooke took has to be taken in the right context. We’ll see how they handle their loss soon.
A Mouse, excellent insight to the ‘Why wasn’t Sun or Sabrina at ringside with Krystin and Brooke’ question. Keep in mind that Sun didn’t demand anything special when she’s fighting Schoolgirl Valentine. You got a good knack for reading between the lines, so to speak. And rest assured that Sabrina is coming out with everything that she has, because a loss, or even a bad showing will be nothing but a disappointment for her. She’s been carrying around those losses, know we’ll see if she can do something about it or not.
Remembering the push.. Sarbina and Sun already had merchantdise.. Sabrina’s Ultra Cool T-shirt, while Sun’s Ninja Princess T-shirt, while Brooke and Krystin doesn’t have any merchantdise yet.
There could be chance that, I think Commissioner Gabrielle is pushing SUn and Sabrina.. while giving Brooke and Krystin, hard time.. if they can make a statement I think they will be great..
I remembered it how John Cena Started in WWE.. loss to Brock Lesnar, then to Kurt Angle.. as if John Cena a jobber. then he made a gimmick and making fun of the other wrestlers. I think Brooke and Krystin is like in that situation..
WHile Sabrina is like C.M. Punk in E.C.W. got straight win.
Repeated Double Team … is this match contested under Tornado Tag rules or what.
For me, I think the reason why Sun’s so popular is because she was an absolute TYRANT in the ring, but once the match was over, she proved to be the most chill about it. Even Sabrina was a little irritable, but Sun seemed really cool with everyone.
Somehow, I’d sensed Brooke’s eventually-revealed bitch-ness, but I had expected Krystin to be just as bad. Surprisingly, she keeps more to herself and wants to stay out of the relative cattiness between Brooke and Sabrina. (At least, for now.)
Major kudos to the creatore for portraying these women so well. Not ALL chicks behave this catty, lemme say, but competitive-career women like these girls are far more likely to be at odds with eachother.
Whoot for only just discovering this webcomic~!
I was thinking if I can use this information in my site. I’ll give a link to your homepage, can I?
