Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Kat Smith, Sabrina Mancini
Kat’s in a lot of trouble, as her weakness is submission wrestling. She’s inches away from the ropes and making Sabrina break her hold, and with Jen finally recovering, Hell’s Belles is at full strength. None of that is good for Sabrina, so she’d do really well by making Kat submit now.

Another impressive move combo from the rookie and this could be the beginning of the end for Kat, unless she can reach that rope. Sabrina better hope that Kat taps out now or Kat and the Belles will win the day. Gotta love De Sade, “figuratively” kicking Jen in the head lol.
Kat has really taken a beating from the chest and above, this finally submission could be literal lights out for “Powergirl” Smith. I am predicting a tap out, cause otherwise the ref is blind to miss such a blatant cheap-shot it the VI occurs during a championship fight.
My wrestling senses check out as Sabrina hits the DDT, hehe. A nice move transitioning that into a guillotine as well, Kat’s awful close to the ropes, though. And with the other Belles at ringside I wouldn’t be suprised at all if one helps break up the hold.
Wow! Great action move here, and that’s one of the main reasons I read this comic. (Don’t ask me what the rest are, I’ll have to think of them.) But the voting incentive…ouch! Still, this can’t be the end. We still have more dramatic reversals to use. Onward.
I’m betting that the match continues. Hmm, is it legal for someone on the outside to push the rope closer? Probably not, but it’d be one of the simpler ways to give Kat the assist. In any case, thank you for the Ultrakick! ::joins the small crowd worshiping at the cake diorama:: Go Sabrina!
I like that move alot better than a simple elbow 🙂 But, Kat’s too close to the ropes, unless Sabrina really has that locked in. Could she be the next Submission specialist? Will there be a submission only match between Krystin and Sabrina in the Future?… Maybe, maybe not…
The reaching for the ropes to stay in the game. Smart move, always know where the ropes is. Also know where the enemy’s help is to.
think Belles teamwork is going to save Kat here. she’s not quite able to get to the ropes, so a newly recovered Jen jumps up on the apron to draw the ref’s attention so Chloe can push the rope out towards Kat so she can grab it to break the hold (being illegal and all though no doubt Chloe would be nice enough to call the ref’s attention to Kat holding the rope after the assist). Brina gets distracted by one of the outside Belles and takes a swing (and miss) at one then Kat jumps her from behind.
Match has been too all-Brina for me to think this one’s over without Kat getting a sustained offensive run in. a squash-like victory in a tourney finals seems a bit much even for Super-Brina. ;P
WOOT!!! Great action, boss. And you capture it real nice.
But Brina shouldn’t have rolled so far. A sit into the cervical crank/choke works faster and keeps Kat from the ropes. Ahh well, meat for the debrief xD

And champ, no be so hard on Sabrina. With a Tornado like that, she did good not to plant them on the apron, where Kat’s cohorts could have reached in.

I do think Kat can stand up, coz Katherine Smith is ‘Powergirl’ she can stand up and rammed Sabrina on the turnbuckle..
but she like to used the rope.. ok for that..
Panel 4: look at Katherine’s back.. even with the shirt, muscle cuts can be seen..
I notice.. since the start of the match.. Katherine only got 2 offense made.. the shoulder block and the bear hug.. and all Sabrina..
and Sabrina is only a rookie.. and got much offense..

Jabberwocky, this could be the beginning the end! Sabrina’s had a very good gameplan (as it seems) and hasn’t ruined it with any showboating. But win or lose (or continue) there’s more to this drama on Friday. 😉
Chris, you were on the money! Sabrina’s hitting on all cylinders right now, but it also seems that the Belles are back to full strength. That’s probably not good news for Sabrina, win or lose.
Thanks darkmark! Gots to have my action. 😀 Hmmm, there are plenty of more reversals to use, but that’s really more Krystin’s thing. Then again, why else is Sabrina doing so well if she didn’t have some good coaching from Marina, Krystin and Sun?
Cookie Ogre, it is very much NOT legal to push the ropes to Kat, but you wouldn’t be surprised if the Belles broke the rules would you? Sabrina’s lucky to have such lively supporters like you.XD
Kurt, I think it’d be a great submissions match between Krystin and Sabrina but I think Krystin has the edge there. It’d be something if Sabrina made Kat tap wouldn’t it? Here, the odds on favored vet getting stunned and beaten by the rookie? I’m still going to have to use that elbow counter in the future. lol

jpiv, it could be that Sabrina is about to break out her cape and fly to victory. XD Yeah, it’s been looking good for Sabrina so far. She’s been lucky, but she’s also had the fortune of Kat not being prepared for her. It’d be an upset if Sabrina wins, but that doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen here. Nice prediction with the Belles. 😉
Champ, that’s pretty catchy, ‘meat for the debrief.’ The greats do their homework. Sabrina will probably do better with the move next time. If she wins with this, maybe she’ll do it again?
LOL Dyna! Don’t expect to get paid by Kyra though. She’s pretty stingy when it comes to that sort of thing. XD You can bet that Sabrina scouted the guillotine and probably saw that Kat’s defense towards it wasn’t the greatest.
Hey MGC! Ah, where to begin? First, don’t be too hard on Dyna. I mean, if you’ve read about her on the forums, you know that she and Sabrina are friendly. You’d also know that Dyna’s got no love for Kat or the Belles either, especially after what they just pulled on her and Brenda. 😛 By my count, Kat has had twice as many offensive moves as you noted, but you can’t really be TOO surprised, can you? Do you remember Kat’s matches with Monica or Victoria? I can understand your frustration seeing as you’re one of the biggest and most vocal fans of Hell’s Belles, but it’s really Kat’s own fault for underestimating Sabrina and relying so heavily on the Belles interference especially getting caught up when it backfired on her (Sabrina KO’ing Jen). And as for Sabrina, can she be a high flyer with submissions wrestling? It seems silly that she couldn’t. You see in MMA all the time, fighters combining multiple fighting styles. Plus, Sabrina knew that Kat would be weak to the submissions game, and she was right. If Sabrina upsets the heavy favorite Kat Smith, it would be pretty surprising, wouldn’t it?
Heh, what can I say, it’s a classic that is well used in other venues. Maybe you aren’t using it because they may knock out someone’s teeth or catch it in the Windpipe? Good use in a NHB match that may be coming up 🙂
Just wanted to say Albone, I’m really enjoying this match. Both women look dangerous and determined, and the amount of back-and-forth and near falls really sells how much the title means to them both.
Go Sabrina, go! I wonder what the rest of the Hell’s Belles are up to right about now? It’s not like them to let one of their own go at it themselves for this long….
