Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Krystin Moline, Sara Valentine
I think this goes to the toughness and experience of Sara to stay in a tough match like this. Also, a little bit of impatience on Krystin’s part, who has so far been on a roll. Fortunes can change in a blink of an eye.
SHIMMER!
I was lucky enough to attend SHIMMER this weekend and it was a brilliant show. I also got to hang out Chris C, who always shares his comments after an update. 🙂 I really love all of the girls but I was amazed by Ayumi Kurihara and Saraya and Britani Knight. Saraya is a super-villain and I think the closest thing to a real-life Chloe De Sade we could ever hope for. XD

How Jeff would die for the view in panel one. Krystin preaches about not losing her head. I know she wants a quick match but she should prolong the pain not go into it too fast. She can build her following and stay with RA. I’m a little lost on the last angle. Is she have her hands on the matt from outside the ring In a sort of mock handstand? Or is she just using the sissors and her whole bodies weight against Krystin? As for VI B…b…bbbbbbBUSTED! I see appologies to Sabrina from someones fiance in the future. He’s not a bright fellow. I must praise the eatch of the muscle in the first scene. Love it!

hmmm.. I frontal head scissors.. I guess, Sara used the ropes to choke Krystin, while applying the headscissor..
or could it be a hurricanrana, I can’t think of others..
Krystin got strength advanatage here.. Krystin could pull Sara up, and back into the ring, but Sara can execuetd a hurricanrana, but not as hard as fall down to the ground..
In examining the characters and how they are portrayed (not really about this match) Krystin is the terribly inconsistent. She’s really either out for herself or uninvolved in things and, despite not having the suck heat Brooke does, needs this win to actually get a kick in the pants.
Say what you want about Sara, but Brooke is actually worse (and nowhere near as awesome as a heel).
I’m worried that Sara is gonna’ try and toss Krys over the top rope to the floor! Or, if she can hook Krystin’s ankles – this could be very bad!
Man, this match is becoming something of a submission clinic. First you had Krystin with the Sharpshooter and a Romero, now Sara’s looking like she wants to do a variation of the Tarantula. If I was Sara, though, I’d stop quick and try to pull it more into her comfort zone with a brawling, hardcore style. For Krystin, she needs to keep doing what she’s doing, pick apart Sara’s body so even if she’s still got the energy, she won’t have the strength in her limbs to get up
You were right that is a great POV shot there. But now I am forever amazed at how well Sara’s top holds her in, she has to be glued in there or something for nothing to pop out while upside down in something so low cut.
Hmm Krystin could have pulled that Romero back to combine it with a dragon sleeper but I figure this isn’t just about winning for her.
Sara’s a sassy and skanky but she’s clever I have to give credit where it is due for acting quickly. Will she pull her over and toss her outside of the ring? Get pulled back in where she may still have an advantage unless she allows Krys to just slam her down like I’ve seen happen so many times. Or will we get a serious wild card with someone interfering though nothing indicates anyone would do such a thing? Will Rocky and Bullwinkle survive the plunge that may lead to their impending doom? This match and the VI really has me anticipating the next update.
Shimmer! I don’t think Chloe would know how to handle Saraya, that woman is downright scary. I heard she got a fan so riled yesterday they tried to spit on her. Definitely not something Shimmer’s used to. It was an incredible weekend, too bad you didn’t get to come to the second afterparty, it was a blast.

Don’t worry about it, Kitten. Imposter moves are never as effective as the origionals. Besides, Sara doesn’t look anywhere near as good as you do when you pull this move off.
if Krystin was facing the other way i’d be on the tarantula bandwagon but since she’s facing the other way i’m going with the headscissors flip over the top rope to the floor outside the ring. If she connects with that, the momentum will certainly turn just like that and Sara will be perfectly positioned to deliver a beatdown on the outside.
Krystin got overconfident and impatient there at the end but clearly Sara’s still got something left in the legs despite all the lower body based submissions she’s gone through. I see Dawn is channelling her inner Monsoon there in panel 7.
as for the VI Michael was clearly about to recite his green lantern oath and recharge his power ring “From brightest blond to reddest head, all of them shall find my bed. Let those who seek to thwart my score, be banished from RA forevermore!”
“Woohoo nice catch Sassy! we’d have to have you fitted for a full body cast if rhino-thighs would have run into you at that speed. I knew you were just lulling her into a false sense of security and the rook fell for it. Def tech HA! You didn;t read that chapter in the manual didya? Now if you can get all that weight over the ropes Sassy give her a schoolyard beatdown she’ll never forget!”
I’m not sure Sara is big enough to pull her over the top. She could hurt the neck though. And where the head goes the body follows.
And Spirit, she’s not all that big where she has to worry overly much about loose puppies. But… well… ask me about two sided tape sometime.
Tape, Brenda? They make duct tape in two sides? LOL… Sorry hun, maybe Mo Chen get a little jealous sometimes of those things you pack.
Vekara, I must admit that I am happy with how panel 1 turned out. 🙂 As for the last panel, Sara’s not supporting herself at all. She’s hanging free from Krystin’s neck, hoping to not only choke her on the top rope, but also cause great strain to her neck, and back. Michael does look awfully guilty in that voting incentive, doesn’t he? XD
MGC, you have the idea behind the last panel. Sara can be pretty crafty. A hurricanrana would be pretty sweet right about now, but I think we’re all going to be in for a surprise when we come back to the ring. 😉
Dyna, the bottom line is that Krystin is in a lot of trouble here and Sara’s got more than a few options. What’s a Def Tech to do?
Donny, unless I miss my guess, I think Sara is going to take your advice. And I think Krystin would be wise to follow your suggestion too. She was doing pretty well with her gameplan. She just has to show some patience and follow through with it. It’s hard for both ladies as the emotions are way high in this match. I guess the winner will be the one who makes the least amount of mistakes?
Hey SotC! Just like Brooke, Sara struggles as hard in the ring as she does of preserving our PG-13 rating here. I have heard the wonders of double sided tape though. Right you are about Krystin wanting to pour on some punishment. She wants to win decisively! Of course, Sara wants to win, and as you pointed out, is showing her creative side. I’m glad you are looking forward to the next update. It’s a doozy. 😀
Chris, I totally agree with you about Saraya and Chloe. Can you imagine if there were a tag team? SCARY! But Saraya is genius on the mic. ‘Low life, yankee, rednecks.’ Awesome. Just awesome. Naturally, the 2nd after party would be the bomb. Next time, I will plan accordingly. 😉

Snowy, not only that, Sara would totally tell you to your face that she took it from you, but then tell everyone else that YOU took it from HER!
jpiv, that is probably the best riff on the Green Lantern oath I’ve ever heard. *applause* I think Sara would argue that this last move here is sexier. and sexier sounding than the tarantula. She’s keeping it real. XD I know Sara is looking to get the edge back and a schoolyard beatdown on the outside would certainly fit the bill. And of course, love, love Minxy! I think a Krystin/Dyna vs Sara/Minx is in order. XD
Champ with the sharp eye as usual. Sara is pretty light, especially when it compares to Krystin. Sara could probably get Sun over with no problem, but Krystin’s another story. And let me just say that I’m always receptive to hearing about the virtues of double sided tape. XD
And this is where Krystin is going to have an epiphany and start tickling Sara’s bare tummy. That or rip her piercing out, one or the other. ::sends a tray of cookies to Madame Champ and Vekara::
I call BS on this one. After the damage Sara has taken to her legs there would be no way she would have enough lower body strength to apply this hold. Wednesdays update better see Krystin pushing Sara off and landing face first on the apron floor.
Not really. There have been holds but not enough to stop a headscissors momentum. More than likely it is going to be a very risky takeover or a modified hotshot. Both are risky but the hotshot will basically even everything out. If you can’t breathe, you can’t wrestle. Only the sharpshooter really worked the legs, the surfboard is more of the back and upper arms.

Hey Albone, you’re working some great angles from the artist’s perspective. I might have to dig out my copy of McCloud to deconstruct what you’re doing! Very interesting how the constantly shifting POV adds a real dynamic to the action. Kind of a graphic version of onomatopoeia. While we’re on your atrwork, I also noticed looking back a year or so, that you’re highlights are adding real depth to the look of the strip.
The headscissors Sara’s working is from that WWE wrestler isn’t it? The hanging over the ropes weardown move. Err.. Candice Michelle or Melina? Don’t watch much WWE now the Rock and Stone Cold aren’t around.
Anyways come on, Krys! I’m guessing something like Sara converts to a Lou Thesz press on this one? I am hoping though that this one doesn’t get won by who makes the least mistakes as much as it is a decisive win for Krystin.

RAWF, you have to remember that Sara is pretty tough too. She won’t be doing any wind sprints any time soon but tough times call for tough measures, in this case, putting the pain aside to keep more Def Tech pain from coming. But, you should be happy to know that the damage that Sara has suffered in this match won’t be forgotten.

Comichero, I don’t think anyone is more frustrated with Krystin than herself. If she gets the chance, you can bet she’ll bounce Sara’s head off the head, post and mat. XD
Thanks Baraduin! I really appreciate the nice comments. 😀 As for the headscissors, I think I first saw it in the Rumble Roses game and then I just recently saw Kelly Kelly do it to Michelle McCool. I know you’re in good company in wanting a decisive Krystin finish. 😉
I’m not recommending it, just saying that if you wear a (ugly) bit of metal in your skin into a combat arena that’s not fake, sooner or later someone’s going to take it from you the hard way. ::grin:: Myself, I want to see Sara zerberted into submission as the ultimate humiliation.
I was also at Shimmer this weekend, wearing my fez. I attracted the ire of Sweet Saraya, and she retorted “Shut up, Tommy Cooper.”
I had to ask her later who Tommy Cooper was (and look it up on the internet too), and she was glad to inform me. When she’s out of character Saraya is a real sweetie, and I’ve quickly become a fan. In ring, she is as intimidating, and brutal as William Regal, though she only weighs as much as Daizee Haze.
All in all it was a great show. It’s going to be a couple days before my voice comes back, though.
