Page 546 – The Hit List

The Champ has had a good long title run, longer than anyone in Rival Angels. Does she keep it going or does she drop the title to Black Widow? While Brenda has beaten some of the best in the business, so has Black Widow.
Voting Incentive!
An interesting new development on Monday!
Brenda, you look awesome! Kick her big ol’ butt!
Yes she does, she looks firm and trim while Black Widow looks out of shape.
Been looking forward to this one. Widow IS big. You’ve got some work to do, Champ!
Didn’t David fight a BIG person once?
Irresistable force against immoveable object ??
So, these two are the equivalent of Wrestlemania III’s Hulk Hogan vs Andre The Giant ?
Yes they are but much sexier
Brenda fought Yvonne Carmichael twice.. and both occasion, Yvonne taps out.. 1st on Brenda’s regal stretch, second sankaku headscissors..
Brenda also fought “Powergirl” Katherine Smith twice, as usual, Katherine taps..
1st Katherine taps from Brenda’s flying armbar, second Katherine pass out of Brenda’s head scissor
Brenda fought Chloe.. “non title match” Chloe De Sade won.. as Chloe applied her ‘sweet agony’ on Brenda.. but on the “championship match up” Chloe loss. as Brenda successfully defend it.. Brenda won as Chloe taps out..
Brenda fought Xtina Carpenter.. first and last opportunity on Xtina..

I’ll be cheer Brenda Rua.. all the way..
COME ON CHAMP!!
COME ON CELT WARRIOR
Brenda does love to pay the taps.
This isn’t Brenda’s first rodeo. She’s defending her title for an unprecedented fifth title defense.
So having a Rival Angels world champion hold a belt for more than 4 months is unheard of. There’s a few reasons for that:
*The title gets hot-shotted so often because the main event division is so deep, everybody gets their turn to wear the belt.
*Despite Gabrielle’s best laid plans, a lot of stuff goes wrong and you have to book on the fly. The main event picture is just messed up right now.
*The main event division is suffering due to a lack of stars.
Well, option 1 has some weight to it, but I don’t think they do transition champions. If they did, then everybody on the roster would have been world champ at one time. Option 2 also has some merit (Sabrina’s arm, anybody?), but looking at the roster, I’m not seeing too many big stars. Which brings me to option 3. Let’s see who Brenda has beaten during her “unprecedented” run.
*Beat Yvonne Carmichael for the title. More on this later.
*Defended against Kat Smith. As we’ve seen, she is capable of going for the world title, but has to settle for the TV title for now.
*Defended against Chloe de Sade. Another main eventer who puts butts in the seats for obvious reasons.
*Defended against [Eva Sirkowski] Carpenter. More of an upper-midcarder than a main eventer. Her match against Sun made that clear. Need someone to rouse the crowd back up after a dud match? Eva’s your girl. Though she has the crowd on her side, there’s something missing that would make you say, “Yeah, she’s main event for sure.”
*Defended against Rampage–And this is where the train derails. Rua’s run now goes from trying to turn her into a credible main eventer (mission accomplished) into trying to make new top card wrestlers (Rampage is still feuding with Jen Needles). I wouldn’t be surprised if they were trying to accomplish the same thing with the Generic Gimmick.
Which brings me to the contest. Gabrielle’s not trying to give that one superstar (Sabrina) a chance, she’s trying to reload her main event scene in order to stave off a fan exodus. No way she eliminates anybody when all she has is Rua, de Sade, Smith, and Carmichael. Now that she has Sabrina and Sun, it looks like her main event picture is saved. If Carpenter steps up, that’s a bonus.
I’m calling my shot: Brenda wins, Yvonne comes to the ring to congratulate her, then makes her eat chair/microphone/fist and proclaims that she never got her rematch (that’s why Brenda’s on her 5th title defense instead of her 6th). There’s your main event for the next PPV.
You know you are probably right. For some reason after almost every fight I’ve seen Brenda do someone tries to tick her off into another match.
Actually, Mo Chen gonna’ go out on BIG limb here. Love you, Bren… but I think Yvonne and Damage Girls or even Chloe might try to get involved in this match – and it may end up costing our beloved champion her title. Not that the Widow would think she needs help, mind you.
You raise a good point. All I can say is I’ve got people watching my back.
I can’t believe I missed the Miss Dynamite homage that Xtina Carpenter is based on the Eva name. I knew I had heard that somewhere.
Come on Champ! The pride of the Celts is behind you. Crag Dhu!!!
Yes they are and if you lose how will you ever be able to face them?
GO CHAMP!
*WAVE BANNER*
Watches you Wave Banner and is impressed how strong you are to wave him. I wave back, “Howdy Bruce!”
BRENDA! That red heads going to win!
Have fun, Madam Champ! You know that we’re all rooting for you down here at the bakery! ::starts building another cake diorama of Brenda putting Black Widow up a waterspout:: 😉
Curious V.I. – Krystin is chasing Michael and Gabby? Hmmm… Could there be something bad happening? Maybe in the ladies room?
poor Xtina- will she ever win a match at this rate? yet she keeps getting her title shots <checks to see if Xtina stole Batista’s title shot rematch cheatcode>. nice little history of brenda’s reign there- surprised to see Rampage get a shot- one of those fighting champ takes on all comers thing i bet. Rampage reminds me of a Rhino like upper midcarder than true main eventer.
i must agree with JSN though, Yvonne never got her rematch which might just tie into the mysterious conversation Yvonne and Brenda were having a bit earlier. Yvonne’s telling brenda that Gabby finally broke down and gave her her long awaited rematch? Be interesting to see Yvonne in action at long last.
as for the VI it seems Kristen just got some news she didn’t like( “you’re fighting Brooke next”?)- or she REALLY wants to make sure she’s not fired because she did win her match after all.
Just so you all know, Blackwidow and I go way back. We’ve face each other in several different venues and several styles. I’m up on her nearly 2-1. When she beats me it’s usually pretty definitive. Our last time was a while back, but she pinned me after a low blow stomp that she slipped into a series to by belly. A close call? Well maybe. But not to me! Combine her antics during the contract signing with that, and you can bet I’ve something to prove here!
Was looking again at you past opponents. We know you pretty much outclass the otha’ ladies in the ground game, but I am curious how you handled Rampage. She a little thick for an armbar or work for a choke. I’m guessing that though she big girl like Widow, she is a lot less smart.
first off, WIDOW!!!! WIDOW!!! WIDOW!!!! WIDOW!!! Section 334 is going nuts! Dang she’s huge! Brenda you may be one hell of a wrestler but the tale of the tape is DEFINITLY in THe Blackwidow’s favor. I see lots of opening weardown moves coming from her if she leans on RUa enough she is eventually gonna collapse from having to deal with that size advantage alone. After that the fireworks can start yes I am predict that the blackwidow wins this one. sorry Rua, She’s all clas and I have alot of respect for her but THe widow, way too much.
second off, Sun Wrong (Typo was intentional) From day one Sun has statred again and again that she will do anything to pull out a win. She’s scrappy, devious and not afraid to take a shortcut. This is the same Sun Wong that was presented to us from day one! That being said I don’t understand why everyone is saying they don’t like her cheapshots in the ring. COme on THis is a classic Heel character that is someone what likable along the same lines of one of favorite all time wrestlers, Rowdy Roddy Piper. Sun Seems alot like him at least in the ring. ANother thing is pulling on the tights to get a pin is also technically illegal and yet there isn’t a single wrestler out thare thatwon’t stoop to that low blow. Give Sun a break, Xtina deserved that swift kick to her ego worse than anyone in that locker room. Well Done Al! Excellent Match!
I hear what you’re sayig. But I’ll let my record vs her speak for me. She’s not too big to avoid my shoulder wheel. Nor too tall to kick in the head. 😉
Question:
how did Rampage got the number one contender?
since Rampage is angry with Jennifer Needles? is it that Chloe VS Rampage? as Chloe DQ? so Rampage got the number contender.. but on that match Rampage got humiliated, by Jennifer Needles?
Hey everyone! I’m back, but on my way to the Chikara show in Chicago where I’m going to be selling Rival Angels books! I’ll try to get back and comment tomorrow especially this talk about VI’s and what they could mean. 😉
Have fun, bossman!
well this should be exciting to say the least
Well, so far I’m having an Okay night. No opinion thus no prediction for Yorks vs. Brant/Holiday and Damage Inc. vs McCourt/Buckingham (Weren’t going to see them anyway so no real point), but I got two wrong (Sabrina and Brooke) and two right (Krystin and Sun), so I’m going to go out on something of a limb here and say it now, Brenda retains and Sabrina makes Chloe say I Quit.
You know, we haven’t seen Brooke in a while…when are we going to see her hook up with the bald man? 😛
ah so Brenda steps out to face black widow finally. better be on your A game there Brenda. you know i would soooooooooo feel bad if she left you a bloody mess in the ring hahahahahaha
Veny funny, Jenn. Sounds like you want some *wicked grin!
What surprises me is that Sabrina vs Chloe will be the final match and not this one. I know you can say they are both main events but the truth is that there is really only ever one main event on a show, and it’s not the title match here. (Granted, sometimes a match really is bigger than the title, like when Rock beat Hogan, and poor Jericho and HHH had to follow at WM 18.)
Logistically speaking I can see why Sabrina vs Chloe would be last, just on a loading in and out viewpoint, though, but I see your point all the same.
Yay Brenda! Whip the Widow’s butt! Hell, with a target that big, how could you miss!
we’ll see if there anything left of you after this match then talk >:D
I’m actually more interested in Rival Angels the organization, as a whole, than Sabrina and the other 3 “mains”.
I second that on Picky..
Rival Angels Presn
Yeah I for one would like to see someyhing even if it is wren about the history of the company.
The origin of the company is slated for Season 2! As are a couple of other origins, I think.
@Albone
Rival Angels Origin: The Origin of White Queen.. Chloe De Sade..
also
Celtic Warrior Path.. Brenda Rua’s origin…
‘Irresistable force’ and ‘immoveable object’. I’ve read book which has stories of those names. Is author fan of Hammer’s Slammers?
