Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Chloe De Sade, Sabrina Mancini
Not the prettiest way out of a bodyscissors, but effective. Both ladies are starting to open up their offenses, but leave it to De Sade to grind that to a halt. Think she can get Referee Zach to call of the match? Maybe an intermission? Will De Sade get the No Contest call she wants?
Voting Incentive!
SOMEone is looking awfully cranky in Wednesday’s voting incentive!
EDIT:
Here’s a quick video clip of the move seen here in the middle of panel 5, courtesy of Nicole Matthews and Tenille in their match by ECCW.
QUIT! QUIT! QUIT! Though I will say, she may have to think Sabrina, an eye patch would make her look rather cool.
Chloe de Prirate. Sounds good to me.
The boss did one of me about 4 years ago. I caught a finger to the eye. I’ll try to find it and put it up in my forum space. I think he did a wicked good job!
I would love to see that. Though beautiful with both eyes, at least you have the skill to go with an eye patch. Where Chloe needs the eye patch as a gimmick, for she seems to have no skill. Yet it’s good for the tail end of my 12 days…NM it is only Monday.
Break her bones! Rend her flesh! Blood for the Blood God! Blood for the Blood God! BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! … Oh, wait, wrong story. Heh heh heh Yeah… No, but I will be disappointed if there is no bloodshed in this match. Not a particularly bloody story so far, but come on, man. You can’t be in an I Quit steel cage match and not shed some blood.
KHORNITE SCUM! HERETIC!
*Warhammer High Five* No, but I play Humans more often than not. The Emperor protects.
I just started reading a Warhammer 40k novel tonight. Death or Glory. A Ciaphas Cain story.
I like the Imperium and the Space Marines, but most of the factions have some really fun sayings. I’ve caught myself using a bit of orkish here and there.
Yeah, I’m a multiclass Fighter/Nerd…
Cool. To be honest, I’m kinda turned off by Space Marines, with as prevalent as they are across many different games and stories these days. Though, in a battle, I’d rather be a rank and file soldier for the Imperium with all the morale, motivation, and loyalty of comrades to me as I show to them, the CO’s, and the Emperor than anything else. I just think it’s fun to read about and play the other factions to see what the other sides get and go through. Khorne is a lot of fun, I think. Still, “For the Imperium of Man!” … Yes, I do play Warhammer.

Now how would you feel if you really saw Albone draw up lots of blood scenes?
Turned on.
Probably disturbed because I was just joking.
Nothing wrong with a little bloodshed every now and again, though. Lord knows, it’s the story that really matters. Bloodshed is just there for emphasis of action.
Question:
on Panel five: Sabrina doing a bridge? who is receiving the pain? is it Sabrina trying to escape the lock or Chloe is in pain?
Looks like Chloe has an ankle lock or something, and Sabrina is bridging to get the pressure off, for the technique in the top center.
Probably was trying to lock in a figure-four…
There a lot of moves in there and it would have been iteresting to see how they went from one to another but sadly comic book and limited amount of space.
OK, the “trading moves” would seem to indicate that Sabrina is the giver and Chloe the taker of the leglock on panel 5, but it sure looks like Chloe is doing the giving. That means Chloe may be giving on 4 out of 5 holds and Sabrina giving on just one, in which Chloe complains about her orbital bone. Is that the case? Doesn’t look like much “trading” then, mostly Chloe on aggression and Sabrina finally coming back in the last action.
The key move in a match is the last move.
well in that second hold the way Brina’s left foot is locked underneath Chloe’s left foot and leaning back like that appears to be putting all the pressure on the trapped right leg of Chloe since brina is leaning back against it and Chloe’s own left leg is preventing the right from being able to move with the maneuver so she’s taking the damage not brina.
Chloe –
First, bringing weapons makes it look like you can’t take Sabrina on your own. It makes you look weak…which of course, you ARE. You needed help in the alley, and every time you’ve jumped Sabrina in the ring you have had help. You KNOW you can’t take Sabrina all by yourself.
Second, you agreed to this match and the “I quit” stipulation. You did it just so you could hear Sabrina say it, but the rules cut both ways. So suck it up and live by your own rules…or follow them and quit.
I think she is an ex-military officer who believes the rules are for the grunts not herself.
Chloe’s done if she’s trying to force a medical stop. The match isn’t officially over, but Chloe’s toast.
Not the most graceful way to break the body scissors, but it sure is effective! Sabrina didn’t look like she was ready to pound her way out of there in the previous update, and the commentary made it sound like a big deal, but it looks like she handled it easily enough.
Despite what the commentary says, in the montage, it looks like Chloe’s winning the technical game, but Sabrina is toughing it out and winning the overall match on pure blunt force trauma. That makes me even more a Sabrina fan than I was before this match. I LOVE the way she fights.
I think the match should end with Sabrina pulling out the taser from Chloe’s bag and doing her in with it. It should would make for an electrifying ending.
Regarding panel five and the leg lock/back bridge, Sabrina is definitely dealing the pain there. I’ve only seen that move once, about 20 years ago, but then, I haven’t watched wrestling in over ten years, either. It’s called a Power Lock, and it hurts worse than a figure-four, and it can’t be reversed by rolling over like the figure-four can, that actually makes it hurt worse.
Sabrina’s pulling out classic, little-known submissions? Wha?! We must have Krystin to thank for that one. Knowing that makes panel five look a bit more balanced, and Sabrina is STARTING to look a little more like a well-rounded. Better and better.
You know the most interesting thing about reading Albone’s comic? I’ve never seen him watch a wrestling match and yet he has a great grasp on it.
Wow! You have an amazing memory! In this light then, it looks like a kind of calf crush. Dang, boss! Wicked!
Actually reversing the figure-four is a myth, rolling over does not invert the pressure.
I was speaking ‘in-universe.’ When my friends and I used to wrestle when I was a kid and still thought wrestling was ‘real’ one of my favorite moves was the figure-four. All reversing it ever did was drive my opponent’s heel into my groin, which was more than enough to get me to release the hold. Then I saw the Power Lock on some public access Bob’s Wrestling type show out of Chicago, and I was once again wowing my friends with my wrestling prowess. Don’t try this at home, kids!
Chloe should be thankful that Sabrina hasn’t stomped on her skull like it was an empty beercan.
Maybe she doesn’t think Chloe deserves a crushing defeat.
Yeah De Loser, you know what you need to do!
QUIT!
*Happy hopping and eagre clapping!*
Go ‘Brina!
Think they will go to DQ after the match?
No way she quits there, too anti climactic. This match is far from over.
Like in baseball De Sade there is no crying in an ” I quit” match. This match is not over, but De Sade is panicking. This means we might see the rest of the Belles soon or if there any tricks left in her bag.
judging by the VI Chloe’s orbital lobe has miraculously healed and she’s upset that the match must continue. Chloe’s jaw seems pretty tough though the way she keeps hitting Brina’s fist with it like that and still manages to trash talk. though it seems Chloe is having second thoughts about the match after the last exchange didn;t really work the way she wanted it to.
and i think Chloe’s new nickname must be “The Woman of 1000 body scissors” since she added a couple more this update. “Side body scissors!” “Front Body scissors!” “Reverse body scissors” “Body scissor choke” “Side body scissors!” “Sweet Agony body scissors!” “Rear Body Scissors” “Side Body scissors!” “Sitting body scissors!”
That is an art piece of a panel, sir.
Hey boss, the comment about ‘trading moves’ in Panel 5… Sabrina only has advantage once in all those exchanges. Arm lock, two scissor holds, one attempted figure-four are all from Chloe. The only thing Sabrina is doing actively in all that is grabbing Chloe’s hair. So, advantage DeSade one would have to declare from that.
I guess that offset those raining punches?
But, as always – great art and I love Chloe’s desperate expression in Panel 6
WOOT beat the french slut down. Though in the trading moves pannel would have liked to have seen Sabrina do a bit more, it doesnt surprise me that a cowardly punta like De Sade uses a ground game, rather than a more up front fighting style.
Wowk, boss. Are you on a roll or what? 66 comments for the last chapter! I think that’s a record. And you’re well on the way to breaking that here. It makes great sense too. Your plotting is wicked. Your art is at a peak. Geometry, expressions, dynamics all rock.
Vekara mentioned an eye patch. I’ve put up in the forum the one you did of me so many years ago, so they can see how you might treat Chloe. Of course she’d have to have beautiful red hair and a tush LoL Here’s the link to the forum entry.

I think the bridging move in panel 5 is a clear calf crush being applied by Brina. She has Chloe’s right shin set in deep behind her left knee and is bending the left calf back against it. It’s a traditional lock in the ne waza (though not applied this way lol) The action draws the femur and tibia apart, stressing all the tendons. At the same time it crushes the calf muscle and attacks the nerves. It’s a killer submission hold that can do real damage, though I’m not sure this application would. Any volunteers to find out? *Grins*
Ai, you are right Brenda. At first I no see it, but now makes sense… (*scribbles in notepad*)
So, is curious that Sabby alter from gut attacks but maybe she trying to stop Chloe’s scissor onslaught.
Maybe Chloe will decide that the ref is an appropriate weapon for the match? She could probably chuck him around fairly well, and there *aren’t* any rules.
I have to say, I love that exchange: “You punch because you have no skill!” “You get punched because I’m sick of your @#%&!” Keep on punching, Sabrina, maybe her lips will swell enough that she finally shuts up.
I’m no doctor De sade but the orbital bone sounds made up and if she did break it good its no less then you deserve
no it is a real bone. i think the Undertaker got his broken by Rey Mysterio by accident when he got clocked in the face by rey’s kneebrace about a year ago. so for once Chloe isn’t making something up- well except for the part that it’s broken that is 🙂
There some really small bones in that area of the skull, been three months since anatomy class though but I’m not sure if bones in the skull can break from a simple punch at least not in that region. This is De Sade trying to rabbit out of the match without actually losing
YEAH, the orbital can be broken with a punch. Has to be a pretty good punch, though. I could do it. Given what we’ve seen of Sabrina’s strength, and the fact that she’s leaning down into the punches? She could do it in this situation, though, easy.
I think Chloe’s got a hairline fracture there at best, though, considering she’s got both eyes open in the VI, and no noticeable swelling. She’s just scared and trying to get out without saying those precious, precious words.
Hey everyone! If you take a look at the top of the comments, I added a Youtube clip of the hold Sabrina is using in the middle of panel 5.
Vekara, I think Chloe would look good with an eye patch, a peg leg and a parrot. Yargh, matey!
Tarrasque, the potential for blood is high in this match and Chloe has drawn blood from Sabrina before. It might be payback time! Or, more bloodloss from Sabrina. Or both. O_o
MGC, it’s Chloe who’s in danger in that hold. Check the YouTube clip above.
Darkmark, the bottom left grapple is more of a tie than an advantage for either woman. Take a look at the YouTube clip above to see how that middle move in panel 5 is to Sabrina’s advantage.
2O2BC, I think you are correct on every count…but De Sade disagrees with you. How about a time out for the Marquise?
Snowy, I think Chloe would look good as a pirate. A french pirate. XD I also wouldn’t put it past her to have a taser in that bag of hers, among other things. I mean, there’s gotta be handcuffs in there too, eh? I know I could use one of those blizzards from DQ when this is over. 😛
DragonMan, I tend to try and end an update on a dramatic note, which is why last update’s end was…well, dramatic. 😛 Our little Sabrina is a tough cookie! You are right about Krystin helping out Sabrina too. 😉
Great eye, Athanor! Sabrina’s bringing her craft tech skills. They might not be on par with Chloe or Krystin but she’s a gamer and has a lot to fight for. Take a look at the top of the comments for a YouTube clip of the hold in question. 😉
Coel, this match isn’t over….er, well, maybe? If Chloe has her way.
LOL GoldenGirl! We’ve gotta get you an UltraGirl shirt. Maybe one of the foam fingers too. XD
RAWF, maybe that’s the crazy swerve that’s coming…De Sade quits! hmmmm…you might be right about the anti-climatic thingy…
Jabberwocky….eep! I totally forgot about the Belles!
jpiv, it does seem that De Sade has an impressive array for squeezing your midsection. I think De Sade would prefer less punches from Sabrina, and more grappling. Of course, Sabrina would rather have more striking and high-flying out of De Sade. Will these two ever agree? XD
Thanks bd!
Dyna, take a look at the Youtube clip at the top and that should clear things up. The bottom left is more of a draw, I think, between these two. I definitely don’t think it’s De Sade in control there, but I’ve definitely goofed before. Don’t forget too that Sabrina is also standing on Chloe’s hands too. 😛
Thanks Champ! I remember doing that pic, though naturally sad about the eye thing. Booo! Great eye on figuring out Sabrina’s hold in panel 5. That’s why we call you Champ!
Amanda, I see you have been reading up on Chloe’s playbook. Using the referee is on page 2.
LOL Cookie Ogre! I know a few others that share your sentiment.
Comichero, this goes to show you the tricky devilish depths that Chloe will go to get an advantage.
Tiffany, I think you are right on the money. 😉
She deserves to break your face, Frenchie.
Albone now why do I think she has more than just wrestling supplies in there.. Tazer+kendo stick+handcuffs=good kinky fun not a wrestling match.
*Giggles, snapping a sideways glance* Ya think?
A tazer and a shinai are “good kinky fun”?! Yeesh!!
Define “good kinky fun” to different people and you’ll get different results. Tazer? Fun. Handcuffs? Fun. Kendo stick/Shinai? What the hell? Though, I do suppose it depends on how you use it and who you use it on. Still…
“LOL GoldenGirl! We’ve gotta get you an UltraGirl shirt.”
*dreams wistfully*
…I would like Ultragirls shirt…
…
…hmm?…
Yeah, I get the drama thing, for sure. Just leads to complaining from us Sabrina fans when it looks like she’s in a fix at the end of one page, but it turns out she’s just in a great position to beat Chloe’s face in when the next page is up. 😀
Speaking of Sabrina’s fans, if you’re giving out shirts… 😉
Chloe is hilarious, though. “Finally, a match with NO RULES, so I can make you BEG FOR MERCY, and – not in the face! Not in the face!!”
Waiting to see what the other Belles have planned. Fun match so far. Chloe’s stepped up her game a bit in the montage, so it’s a good showing all around, with a clear advantage to Sabrina. Can’t wait to see the surprises between now and the end.
Looks like Brina took my advice and started swinging for the fences. Also looks like De Sade wants to try and get out of the match without losing. I guess Brina’s more of a legit contender than she anticipated. I will give her the benefit of the doubt though, her orbital bone could be cracked/broken. I’ve seen it in plenty of matches. Chris Masters busted up Stevie Richards’ with a polish hammer in his debut match. This seems to be a good time for Chloe to step up and show there’s actually some heart and fighting spirit inside her, fight through the injury and keep on swinging. Will she though? Only time will tell
So when Chloe is the one that’s injured, it’s an injustice, but when Sabrina was, she deserved it? Bitch. I hope she quits.
I love how Sabrina just keeps winding up in the scissors hold!
Well I certainly missed a lot. I find it odd that Chloe is naming the exact bone instead of just saying “that bitch hurt my eye” or something, but maybe that’s just how Chloe talks.
How exactly did Chloe get the breathing room to hold her eye and complain anyways?
Also, geez those weapons are doing literally nothing for her lol
I don’t think Chloe has the kind of drive Brina does. I think she only wins if the deck is stacked in her favor and she cheats enough. I dont think she has the staying power to really come back I think in the next couple of pages she’s going to be done.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gz2K-qUdhKk&feature=related
Triple H with his reverse Indian Deathlock, a variation of the hold Sabrina uses, I think.
I’m amazed that Hunter could pull off that move.
The VI makes me wonder if Chloe has something in her hair. Besides a bucket of cheap hair spray…
Ph3n0m, the weapons are doing something, for sure. They’re allowing Sabrina to establish her dominance over Chloe, with her ability to disarm her at will with hugely impressive displays of timing, speed, power, and tactical ability. Wait, ‘for’ Chloe? Uh, they’re… luring Sabrina into a false sense of security! That’s the ticket!
Awesome link, Neil. That does look like the same move, only with a roll instead of a bridge.
Tiffany, Chloe looks to be playing for time here, so she might have something up her sleeve that could give her time to recover. I wonder if that’s the signal for the other two Belles? I hope so – judging by the VI, whatever she’s planning isn’t working out so great, and it’d be FANTASTIC if the plan that was blowing up in her face was the reinforcements!
