As for the comic itself, if anyone ever had this coming to her then it’s De Sade. She’s been on top of the heap so long, apparently, that she’s started to believe her own hype. Time to slide down the ladder, if she keeps her job at all, and make room for a more deserving mastermind heel at the top. That would be Yvonne, of course.
Isn’t it the nature of wrestling leagues to have the top spot switching out all of the time?
It is, yes. Or when it isn’t then it should be as a completely static top-tier gets real boring real quick with the same matchups repeated over and over ad nauseam.
Chloe has been set up for this fall pretty much since the first time we saw her. Basic storytelling would tell anyone that she was not going to come out of this the winner, and if anyone had any doubts to begin with the whole back-alley thing should have made it clear that Sabrina would get her revenge at the PPV for having her career almost ended. Anything else would have been seriously unexpected. That’s not “PG” or “Disney”. That’s just basic, common-sense storytelling.
Besides, it was equally clear halfway through the season that Chloe would not be the big-bad of Season 2. Too many hints about Yvonne’s machinations and manipulations for me to believe anyone else is going to be the main villain for next season. Which is something I, of course, support wholeheartedly. 🙂
And no, the Catgirls can’t be the main villains. They’re just too cute and innocent looking. Kinda like that little kitten looking at you with that “What, me?” look while sinking its claws into your leg. Your first reaction is to go “OW!”, then comes “Well, isn’t that just adorable?” Sorry. No main villain status for you girls unless you get really vicious.

So, M.G.C., I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that you don’t think that Chloe DESERVES a top-of-the-cage Ultrasplash from Sabrina after what she and her minions have done to here since she started in Rival Angels? SOME heat is expected, given ‘Brina being so new and being given such a push, especially with the Belle’s being the major heel stable, but IMHO, they’ve pushed things WAY too far, and Chloe deserves Every. Single. Bit. Hell’s Belle’s have gone after Sabrina for no reason other than her shiny newness and refusal to kiss their asses. I don’t care is Chloe is RA’s version of the heel HHH; she deserves what’s coming to her… and it’s looking like the Express Elevator to Hell, with the cable snapping!
I’m just waiting for the finish now so we can move on from Ultragirl for a bit.

The human body can do amazing things when driven by rage and adrenaline. Not every person learns step by step. Some people have a natural knack for things, such as music, to memorizing, to sports. Who’s to say she just don’t have a knack for it. Besides if you’ve watched she’s just been throwing hit after hit to weaken Chloe’s body. Try to think more critical. I know you like Chloe this isn’t the end there’s still match to go who knows what twists and turns will happen. I mean I don’t want Chloe to win but I’m not going to drop the comic or call foul on the creators drive of the story. Everything happens for a reason. I still want a background on how Chloe got where she is.

Wow, awesome art work! Seriously, though Chloe just thought she’d walk away from an I quit match. Oh I’m so sure the comish loved when people walk away from the ppv match. Though Sabrina’s being a little crazy here. A very entertaining crazy, but also a rather dangerous crazy.This could be very bad for her. Though voting incentive looked like she was climbing down. fingers crossed she doesn’t try SUCH a high flying move. That gives a lot of time for issues to happen. Good job on the audience worry faces…I think someone needs to call a bus to stand by. You know, had Chloe not started this war, Sabrina and her might not have crossed paths for a while. I always wondered if Chloe had the same push as Sabrina when she came through and not the same talent or try. She just surrounded herself with dirty tricks and strong arms. I would still love a small back story. I mean why did she waste her time with the new kid? I mean she’s proven she doesn’t have that many holds or moves. She doesn’t seem like a very talented wrestler. I was impressed by Jen (even if she used drugs) She still had an underlying talent. Though who knows how she’ll break after whatever happens in the back. I suspect a lot of Chloe made us do this and that…The aftermath of all this PPV event is going to be awesome! There’s the dealing with the back ally beat-down, Sabrina and Chloe come to a head in an i quit match, Maddie finds out the cheating has been with Brooke, The comish snaps and puts a rather no tolerance, firing black widow after her career ending attempt with the champ. One heck of a ride! Come on Sabrina! Be smart with your attack, it’s an “I quit,” don’t conk her out. That will do no one any good. You need her awake and in pain. Whatever happens Friday at least one thing will be sure to Chloe, Sabrina is not going to let her out of this. I hope Sun is at least able to check this out back stage…This is very Ninja~

The matches are always very fresh and new feeling. Also amazing at keeping you the edge of your seat, then again, you’re amazing at pulling heartstrings and keeping you on the edge of the seat too.
Hokay, first – great art boss man. The last panel is epic.
But, I have two big worries. 1) Either lady fall from that height = hospital. 2) Your Friday VI looks like Sabrina is trying to climb out of the cage. I hope I see that wrong and she’s just going to pull a Mickie James to Chloe’s Tara (Thesz Press from the top)… cuz escaping don’t win it.

Oh crap, this is going to be epic. I don’t know what I want to see more, Brina channeling Elix Skipper and taking Chloe off the cage with a Hurricanrana, or Chloe getting knocked off the cage and Sabrina landing the Ultra Splash off the top of it. All I know is, whatever happens, it’s going to be played in Rival Angels highlight reals for years to come!

Have to agree, whatever happens is going to be epic. I’m gonna predict an Ultrasplash off the cage, followed by MGC’s head exploding. Still, someone’s gonna need to be scraped off that mat afterward…
I have to wonder, though, are the rules different here? In the one cage match I’ve seen (Orton vs. Christian, a couple weeks ago), the cage door would be opened any time someone asked it to be. If that rule were the same, then why is Chloe trying to climb a cage in her condition? And how was she expecting to get down again without messing her leg up worse?

If Chloe gets away, then there can be a lumberjack match which could devolve into a pier six brawl.
And then after that, Chloe and Sabrina can go into gimmick matches like dog collar matches and Texas cowbell deathmatches.
If there still isn’t an end to their feud, the good old fashioned loser-leaves-town option is always there.
Boss this last panel ranks up there with your best. And this is ummmm high drama *winces* for sure!
In a way I can understand M.G.C.’s um anger. All this time we’ve seen Sabrina, we’ve seen what she can do even though it’s called Rival Angels we know that it’s basically all about her and some on the inner workings of what a prowrestling world would be like if it wasn’t scripted.
In all these years we’ve just recently seen her take her first real lost (not really counting the one in development because that was from an interruption), even it’s been mentioned that before she wasn’t really trying to win but just brawled, that makes most of her wins up until the moment she began to focus an insult to her opponents. She stumbled into wins, that’s a blow below the belt in a way.
And I still can not understand why she was so angry at Sun for actually wanting to do something with herself in the company, she wasn’t the one getting the big push.
We haven’t really seen much coming from Chloe. No real ambition other than being the classic boss heel of a faction that has turned into a talentless coward. One would assume that Chloe is smarter than how she’s been acting lately and having been in the company she can hold her own but everything so far has seemed to be just another showcase of Sabrina being Wonder Woman, I mean Power-Girl, I mean Ultra-Girl.
Especially so that she had a match with Kat and doesn’t show any wear even having had a chance to rest. Even that bump on her head is gone, Ultra-healer too.
I like a good heel I’ve said it before, they make the faces actually look better than what they are at times. But currently Sabrina is too much, too perfect, everyone except a few of the heels love her, she has little to no short comings. People may reply and disagree telling me that I’m wrong but honestly I can’t be the only one to think this.
I’d love to see a nice twist to this match, like Danielle Perfection coming down ringside to distract and rekindle an old rivalry.

i’m thinking we’re getting a Chloe getting knocked off the cage and a top of the case Super Ultrasplash deluxe from Brina… of course whether Chloe is still there by the time she lands however…
and sorry MGC, Brina’s the main focus of the comic (would rather see it become the Sun show myself ;P), Chloe has been her main antagonist all season long. if this is the final match between them then a large percentage of story telling everywhere is going to have the good girl win in the end. the wrestling may be real here instead of scripted but the whole RA world is still just a story.
Sabrina taking one loss to Chloe? how many times has Chloe and co beaten up brina compared to Brina’s successes against them? advantage Chloe. besides- in any other match but an I quit match Chloe would have won already with sweet agony. like i said several updates ago. Chloe is the first Boss of RA Brina has to get past. Next season someone else will take over as second boss for Brina to try to overcome but there’s only so much more you can get from Brina/Chloe at this point so it’s time to separate their paths again until they can meet again down the road in a fresh storyline.
on the other hand, yes Brina’s found her worst enemy to be herself with her self-doubts and concerns about…um…everything. once she gets in the ring Kat’s really been the only one who has been able to establish punishing domination of her. the rest including Chloe (despite the chokeout- which technically would have resulted in Chloe winning any other match type except this one) haven’t really beaten Brina down physically in their matches.
once she starts feeding off the crowds though Brina Hulks up into SuperCena mode and forget about it if you’re facing her. Chloe pretty much outsmarted herself agreeing to an I quit match. Brina will 99.9999999% likely never say those words so Chloe has next to no chance of winning this match. like i said before. a regular match would have been over with Chloe winning but by trying for everything, Chloe is most likely going to walk away with nothing.
Coel, what goes up, must come down. XD I’m thinking win or lose, it’ll be the end of their feud for a while.

jabberwocky, the way these two are fooling around at the top of the cage, it’s a bit of a wonder which way they’re coming down. I think that would be Sabrina’s plan, but there’s a big gap right now between what she’s planning it going right.

SotC, it’s pretty obvious that you’re a fan of De Sade, and that’s cool. There are lots of instances, like Harry Potter and Buffy, where people didn’t like the protagonist. I’m sad that you don’t recognize Sabrina’s flaws. I hear about them a lot at comic shows, but maybe you’re only taking the wrestling into account? That would make sense since you’ve taken quite a bit out of context to frame your POV. This is a sport, so anything is possible, like Kat beating Sabrina, but you have to admit it’d be kind of weird if Harry or Buffy got killed. I mean, you see that right? I don’t think you’re alone either. Some people like the villains. Some like to see heroine destruction. Whatever’s clever.
Ninja’d by jpiv! I have to say you make a very compelling argument. Rival Angels is still a character story, and this one is a bit of a coming-of-age. Sabrina is definitely different than when she started. Though I have to point out that while Sabrina gave props to the fans, it was her new motivation of excellence that is egging her on. I mean, she’s suffered an awful lot of humiliation at De Sade’s hands. That sort of thing is telling about her as a person. Sabrina’s definitely not perfect and wouldn’t claim to be, though Sun might disagree. BFF and all. XD

Sabrina doesn’t “stumble into” wins. She almost stumbles right on out of them, with rookie mistakes that we keep seeing and keep hearing about, but she manages to find a way to focus and drive through to the end. And seriously, what’s wrong with an aggressive style? Say what you want, but “brawling” is just fighting like you mean it.
Of course she was mad at Sun for lying to her and exploiting her in order to get in good with Damage Inc. Sabrina hasn’t held that association against Sun at all, except when Sun betrayed and used her. Which is not an example of Sabrina’s perfection, just understanding the business.
As for Chloe… you’ve apparently missed her self-destructive behavior, her drug test avoidance, etc. She’s imploding as much as she is being beaten. If anything, that takes away from Sabrina’s accomplishment in defeating what we’re told is a giant in the business.
As for Sabrina being super-heroic… no, she’s being heroic. She’s demonstrating the traits of heroes in all forms of fiction, including, y’know, faces in pro wrestling.
And she’s not especially well-loved. We haven’t seen any evidence that most of the locker room even knows her name. Gabrielle has speculated as recently as this event that failure to perform at expected levels could result in Sabrina going back to developmental.
Now is not the time for some barely-mentioned rivalry to interfere with the match. Now is the time to bring a close to the Hell’s Belles storyline and move on to something else.
Now, on to other matters. MGC, you’re still posting and making 9/11 references eight hours after you apologized, and four hours after Albone asked you to stop. Seriously, seriously not cool.
As for what Sabrina’s doing climbing… I just saw a video of Rey Mysterio doing a hurricanrana from the top rope, then climbing back up to the top rope for a splash. (Elimination Chamber 2010. YouTube is our friend.) It makes me wonder.

Cloe had better not win. The idiots aka hells belles have already had their win even if it wasn’t deserved. if sabrina doesnt win its going to be unbeliavable and suck. THERE IS NO WAY someone with De Sades coowardice and poor attitude would ever beat someone like Sabrina. She just doesn’t have what it takes. Hell she should have been fired after the club incident and thrown in jail.

I’m actually back early, nothing on the net to do. DragonManRen, the stumble into wins was actually mentioned within the context of one of the previous entries not just from me. I actually go back and do my research before commenting so not to put my foot in my mouth too much. I did not say that she is still stumbling into wins, again I said that we’ve been reading for years, I’ve seen the improvement and I will never in my life as a wrestling fan not acknowledge that, I just didn’t mention it in my previous comment.
And the Rey reference, Sabrina isn’t Rey nor a full high-flying lucha type wrestler. Chloe took time to climb the cage because of her leg and possibility of being slower, so Sabrina didn’t just hop up the ropes then lunch up to the cage railing within seconds to run to Chloe’s side.
To Albone: Personality flaws I see, her naivety, recklessness in some of her actions I’ve noticed, the go with the flow with no real goal in mind but to win and please the crowd I’ve noticed, I am pleased to see that the ‘gold fever’ has finally struck her, and the feeling down with doubt and self-pity after her loss, I couldn’t help but notice but really I had no sympathy for her for it. I do have an eye for detail.
Perhaps I have just been too overexposed to Sabrina, and the faces of prowrestling I’ve been seeing on TV (I swear to all that is holy if I see Kelly Kelly get another win over a well seasoned female wrestler, not Diva, I am putting my foot through my TV).
I think I need to see more of the Rival Angels than just Ultra-Girl Sabrina. If the title of this was Ultra-Girl: Sabrina Mancini then that would be a different matter I suppose.
And I’m not just a Chloe fan I’m a fan of a good heel. Really without them it would just be these girls with the same goal vying in friendly competition, if we wanted that we’d watch a high school wrestling match.
Perhaps it was all of the events that led up to this moment that made some of us expect more from Chloe and the Belles and seeing it fall apart, though possible in reality, is disappointing.
Back to DragonManRen with this one, my mention of Perfection entering into the mix would be something of a transition. Yes we see that the Hell’s Belles has fallen apart, that being in Paris has some effect on Chloe (yeah coming for a poor and possibly broken home as seen with Homecoming and what she has to say about Paris in Fashionably Late) combined with her already poor PR, they’ve closed that chapter themselves not Sabrina. If Perfection was to enter in to make good on her words wouldn’t it give Sabrina the push to show that her wins weren’t flukes that she can actually beat her again thus beating some of her own near self-destructive sense of self-doubt?
I don’t even remember who Perfection is. Clearly, she is not a major part of the story at this point. The Belles are. We can’t have somebody who has had no screen time showing up and ruining a grudge match like this between Sabrina and the woman who has been trying to end her professional career before it even started.
They did it with Trish and Mickie James with the introduction of Beth Phoenix. A small introduction as old rival following an in ring interruption and Mickie’s expression and people ate it up until Beth’s injury.
This is a comic about wrestling, not a wrestling show. The format is completely different, and requires a different structure.
That’s exactly it. There’s plenty of shows, RAW, TNA, Wrestleicious, SHIMMER, etc. Part of what makes Rival Angels unique is that it’s about 4 girls who happen to be wrestlers. Sure Sabrina gets a big part of it, but we hardly saw her at all between Krystin’s match through the Brenda/Black Widow match.
So an old rival boosting about how Sabrina’s wins are merely a fluke wouldn’t make due to I don’t know force Sabrina to prove her wrong and by that overcoming some of that self-doubt?
And even if this is a comic about wrestling and not a wrestling show there is a wrestling show within it and we are seeing how it works no? And in the end of it all it all comes down to what will bring in the ratings and the cash. There’s no telling what management might do for something like that.
And no offense meant by this Albone but the lack of Sabrina during those matches is hardly noticed in comparison of how much we’ve seen her up until then. At times it’s hard to realize that this is a comic about 4 girls when we mostly see the one.
Anyhow this is the last I will comment on this as I can see us going around in circles over and over again pointing out the same things with none of us actually seeing or perhaps unwilling to see the point the other is trying to make.
This feud with Chloe De Sade is highly public and highly anticipated, enough that it is the co-main event at a huge PPV event. No wrestling show would diminish the impact of this feud’s resolution by interfering with it with a reference to another feud that very few people are going to know or care about. Or rather, if they did, it would be a remarkably poor decision.
Also, I think that even if this was a show, not a comic, it would be time for this storyline to reach a satisfying conclusion, not segue into another, similar, but less interesting story.
However, this is a comic, and interference would ruin the resolution of the grudge between Chloe and Sabrina, and we don’t have the luxury or seeing it all play out next week. This match has been in the making since strip 7, and now, years later, at strip 581, it is approaching a conclusion. I don’t think we really want to drag it out more into another, even-more-final confrontation.
See Cloe is NOT a good heel. A good heel is Yvonne. She’s manipulative smart and knows when to bend/break rules and when not to Cloe has NO intelligence NO real skill or talent other than cheating and no morals how anyone can be a fan of hers at this point I dont know.
Sabrina’s going a little old school TNA, Elix Skipper style. I dig.
