New Prologue Page #5

OUCH. Gouge to the eyes hurts as much in rugby as it does in pro wrestling! Poor Kelly. Any surprise at Sabrina’s reaction to what happened to her friend and teammate?
Author Notes:
Peter Vine is the author of this fine look into Sabrina’s past and he’s got a few notes to share about this page:
- Gouging is pretty widespread in rugby, especially in France and Eastern Europe for some reason.
- Usually done by forwards as a way of spooking rivals, not really meant to be malicious.
- Most recent example apparently during the Rugby World Cup Final between New Zealand and France where the All Blacks alleged that the French kept trying to gouge them.
Voting Incentive!
Vote to see what’s coming up on Monday! (Kapow!)
What a heel.
I agree….it truely surprised me when Sabrina started going after that girl for grabbing her teammate face mask.
PS…Ablone you forgot to draw the face mask.
Budding heel in the making!
Aw no, Brina, bad move. Correct procedure is alert the ref, not start a fight. (Refs in rugby see a little better than wrestling ones) :p
Well I think the correct move from the ref’s would be to eject both players in this case, unless of course they missed part of the dirty tricks.
If the ref spotted the gouging, the correct decision would probably be a red card for that – expulsion from the game and possible further disciplinary action – and a yellow for Sabrina – 10 minutes in the Sin Bin – for taking the law into her own hands. Penalty awarded to Sabrina’s team.
Sabrina would argue that she hasn’t started a fight (yet). Though, have you seen the voting incentive? XD
Woohoo another Friday the 13th and another great comic 🙂 Also, it’s widely known that you can get your ear pierced in the bottom of a skrum as well as any other surgical altercations you wish for free…
As for hair pulling well Sabrina just didn’t like her pony tail… oh and the blatant eye gouging, where’s a ref to call a 5 minute major and a game misconduct… sigh
He’s a male ref and he is getting a hose to make the fight a bit more exciting for him and his buds.
Thanks Kurt! Yeah, rough times in the scrum or rugby in general. Rugby refs are sharper eyed than wrestling refs.
Aha! ALBONE!I finally see the point….This is alll about Sabrina’s sense of fair play and her amazing ability to get ejected after said fight. It’s the cake incident all over again! I think that’s the point the comish lady is trying to make with Sabrina.Keep a calmer head.
If she wanted to learn to be calm she should get some training from me. Us Catgirls are good at playing the sys….ummm…being calm and fair.
Sabrina DEFINITELY needs a cooler head. But yes, the point of this origin story is rearing it’s head. 😉
So do we know the red head? My first though was Brenda but then on second thought she is to small.
Nah, the redhead is just a fiery opponent. 😉
Hmmph! I don’t cheat Snow and besides she started it! 😛
LOL
hmm young Brina-
never say quit attitude- check
being a bit of a showboat- check
highflying- check
seeing someone she likes get attacked invoking BRINA SMASH! mode- check and double check 🙂
Looks like systems are go!
Now this is the rugby I like. Hard hitting, physical, and very little referee interferance…. Wow, just like how I like my wrestling. What do you know
Donny, I daresay you have a ‘type.’ XD
What can I say? Plenty of action with minimal rules = good entertainment
Oh, dirty players! I hope Sabrina pile drivers her, showing off her natural wrestling prowess.
Give her a chance and she just might!
Ahhhh the old ‘gouge in the ruck’ trick. Been there done that. Also been there and received that.
Given it’s kinda impossible to do the dreaded ‘squirrel grip’ in women’s rugby, thought we’d see something like a gouge or some over vigorous stomping going on somewhere.
ya know i’m starting to think this is leading up to a “Sorry Sabrina, you’re too rough for ruugby, why don;t you try wrestling instead?” chat with her coach.
To spin off of jpiv’s comment, I can see the coach saying, “You can’t go beat someone up because they did something you don’t like! This isn’t pro wrestling!”
And thus the seed is planted. 😀
Actually, I’d expect the coach would be more likely to say “while its good to see you protect your team-mates, try to be a bit more subtle next time. There are ways – let me show you a few…”
Well, frankly the refereeing in this match has been so poor that this sort of thing was inevitable – I’ve been complaining all along! If the referee will not enforce the laws, and protect players, then players have to do it themselves. I trust that both teams will make a complaint after the game.
