Page 108 – No Quit
Sabrina’s taking a pounding in this match from Loretta, but still fights on, stubbornly even. The fans are keeping her encouraged and seems to have started a small comeback. The only thing is that in the last few comeback attempts from Sabrina, Loretta has defused Sabrina’s actions. So, it should be interesting to see what happens next.
It really didn’t help Loretta’s cause to be so sloppy in her pin attempt. I think she knew that she wouldn’t get Sabrina with that, but she’s just looking to humiliate Sabrina before putting her away. Certainly not the most sporting of Loretta and maybe that’s why she got caught with that suplex reversal. Loretta’s learning painfully that you don’t want to let Sabrina hang around in a match when you can try to put her away.
Panel 1: I estimate the time of Loretta pressuring Sabrina’s left arm around 1:05 minutes, there it stop.. I wonder how’s that one 1:05 minutes pressuring Sabrina’s left arm.. count episode 104. 6seconds of pressuring the left arm.. 6 seconds, I mean 3 seconds for Panel 3 (Episode 104) and another 3 seonds on Panel 5 (Episode 104)..
I think it will heal for days.. I think, on the next Monday Night Meltdown, Sabrina will be full 100% again, but if Sabrina hits that left arm again.. same goes what happen or maybe worst..
Panel 2: I really like that image… Hhahahah.. Look at “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini screams.. hahha.
Panel 3: My Favorite… hahaha.. that’s is the image I wanted to see..It’s kinda like Albone spot an image in my mind and drawn it… hahahahha… I never though this could happen. COOL.. EXCELLENT. but Loretta standing on Sabrina.. Very Nice.. I could wish Chloe is standing on Sabrina, with that pose and with Katherine Smith and “Red Jen” Jennifer Needles standing besides Chloe. and to additional to the background, with Sun’s body laying down unconscious on the left side…. hahahahh… it’s kinda nice Loretta did that after the match.. 😀
Panel 3: again.. if there’s a camera man there will took that image.. then letting Loretta autograph it.. ahhahaah..:D could it be that’s will be one of Loretta’s merchandise.. Loretta Diaz Poster.. hahahaha 😀
Panel 6: that reverse Suplex, by Sabrina.. her left arm still flatted in between the canvas and Loretta’s head.
Looking at this match, even though 60% of this match in which Sabrina’s won.. still this is a hard task for Sabrina in one on one match..
Wait till monday 🙁
I thinking Monday, with 0 momentum on both Sabrina and Loretta.. the match wil start, with punched block punched block, then irish whip.. like in WWE..surely if it’s in wrestling Sabrina will get the momentum. hmm.. I don’t know here.. I hope Loretta will give more “HERE COMES THE PAIN” for Sabrina..
Let’s Go Diaz!!! Clap Clap!! Let’s Go Diaz…
Let’s Go Diaz!!! Clap Clap!! Let’s Go Diaz…
If Loretta didn’t go for the steelchair and then that head shake on episode 65.. I put Loretta for the win.. now with that incident happen.. Sabrina will took this win.. “Sadly” ..
but I won’t cheer for “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini… I just go for her in the win.
M.G.C. “Hhahahah.. Look at “Ultragirl†Sabrina Mancini screams.. hahha.” – that’s kinda vindictive, isn’t it?
Although, your poster idea is a pretty good one; dynamic poses are good for posters.

The story lines coming is like we’re channel surfering.. Loretta VS Sabrina, then it changes to Brooke situation.. now back in Loretta VS Sabrina.. (Episode 106) Commissioner Gabrielle wants to see Brooke after the show.. I hope we’ll see.. Katherine Smith VS Monica Rumble, I’m excited on that match.. seeing one of my favorite Katherine Smith battle Monica Rumble… 😀
hmmm.. I wonder what’s Brooke doing? pour alcohol in between Brooke’s boob and smother Michael out already? or maybe Brooke.. will be Michael like..she’ll join Michael’s club, an elite club.. Kiss Michael’s *** Club. 😀 she said she’ll do anything..
Finally! Enough with the politicking, we gat back to the match!
And finally we see Sabrina’s comeback. What she needs to do now is get back on her feet faster than Loretta does and then hit her with kicks any time she tries to rise up. Keep Loretta on the floor and keep that damaged arm out of use for a while.
After that she’ll need to connect with a couple more heavy hitting maneuvers to get this match over with…
MGC, glad you like the page!
A. Mouse, I was thinking the same thing. XD
JackAce, I think you’re right about what Sabrina needs to do, its just a matter of whether the pain in her arm will stop her or not. Actually, I think your advice for Sabrina is very sound, she just needs to get up.
Just an FYI, Lufisto approves, and says it would kick ass if she, or an R.A. exclusive character inspired by her, were to show up in these pages at some point.
That’s awesome! I should see if I can chat with her after the Shimmer show next month. Scratch that, she’ll probably just want to chill out. 😛 I’ll have to email her…. thanks!!
Yeah, Lufisto could give you some ideas of how to incorporate her (or a character based off her) into the comic. I don’t know who she is (not being an avid follower of wrestling), but it’s a neat idea to put real wrestlers in your story.
Additionally, I think once Sabrina gets past the pain she’ll forget about it until Loretta does something to remind her.

I have a few observations about todays episode, in general it is a great example of well composed action:
Panel one, Loretta looks a little off balance here, she’s risking a fall to maximize the force on Sabrina’s elbow. At this point I would think Sabrina’s left shoulder is under some unpleasant stress too.
Panel two: FREE FALL!!! Loretta has stood up straighter and is going for a pin attempt. Great depiction of surprise!
Panel three: I’m not as worked up about this one as M.G.C. is, In fact this is the panel that made me think Sabrina’s left shoulder is hurting too, from the angle its laying at. I don’t think it is all that great a portrait of Loretta, in TV and movies looking down on people is a way to make them look *less* threatining. ( A side note: the classic 30’s “Frankenstein”, Boris Karloff as Frankie is often photographed looking up at his face to make him seem more monstrous, while the little girl he kidnaps is shot looking down to emphasize her helplessness. The good news? Frankie wants her for her brain… )
Well, M.G.C. , if you want a Action Winner Portrait of Loretta the point of view you want is six to seven feet out in line with her left leg at the height of her belly button. This angle maximizes the drama as Sabrina is flat out on the floor and Loretta is towering over her, without distorting the perspective. If you want I could mock up a pic using my daughter’s old Barbies… I can’t draw all that good but I’m great with a camera. ( No, I’m not going to hire models and make costumes for them and rent out a boxing gym!! I do know a young blonde lady who would make a great Sabrina, though… )
Panel four: Loretta doesn’t know it, but things are gonna change. The diagonal angle of the ropes makes Sabrina look wobbly, like she’s going to fall on her back…
Panel five: This is a Moment of Decision pic. Great drama and intensity. This is my pick for the best drawn and most representative panel in the episode.
Panel six: Now the diagonals serve to emphasize Loretta’s fall… it’s a tossup… both girls are vulnerable, the first to react will have the advantage… tune in next time to find out!! Unless Monday’s comic is more of Brooke and Michael, that means we’ll have to wait ’till next Woundsday…
A Mouse, Lufisto is this wrecking ball in the ring and cute as a button. If I can get real wrestlers and a good storyline I’d do it in a second. I have had a couple of feelers out there, but most of the wrestlers I’ve sort of talked to want to beat up Sun and Sabrina with zero regard for what I have going on in the story but I remain hopeful. Adrenaline is what’s going to carry Sabrina past the pain, its just when she gets grounded is when the pain hits home. So yeah, what you said. 😉
RDF, I’m pleased that you liked the page! Love the observations per usual, I always love the introspection that the readers bring to the forum. No Brooke and Michael for a little bit, but we’ll see them soon and expect on teeny tiny swerve when we do. Right you are on the angles depicting certain emotions, like looking down is less powerful and looking up is more powerful. I’m thrilled that you liked the fifth panel, its so simple, but really I am happy with how it turned out. It was clear in my head what was going on, and I was hoping that it would relay the correct message to everyone else.
Actually, I think the third panel does exactly what it’s supposed to do.
It shows Loretta triuphant, but through the downward angle it also reinforces the notion of just how weak her position really is.
In fact, I’m a bit surprized (and dissapoined) that Sabrina “only” kicked out of that joke of a cover. Instead, she could have grabbed Loretta’s leg with her right arm, and then roll over to unbalance Loretta and catapult her into the ropes.
Also, I noticed you have new smileys…
🙂 😉 😀
Shiny!
Shiny?! A Firefly fan?!! Man, I love me some Firefly/Serenity.
Honestly, the third panel was more about function than anything else. If I would’ve went with the worms-eye-view, we couldn’t see Sabrina’s predicament, the same for a straight on two point perspective shot, so really the birds-eye-view was the way to go. But the end result is still the same, JackAce, which is Loretta on top, but with a unsturdy position.
Yes, new smileys! I thought they were a bit more emotive so to speak, and I hope you all like. If not, its no thing to switch it back.
😀
I can understand real-life wrestlers wanting to beat up fictional wrestlers (regardless of which ones) for various reasons. It might not only be about who wins, but how they win. If you can get someone who will work with you on how the fight goes, what moves are used and all that, it might be fun. But if someone wants to dictate to you what happens I can understand your reluctance. I wish you good luck in finding someone who will work with you so that the fight will bring something to the story.
I love Firefly, but I missed the reference. Bad me; bad, bad me. :*) I’ll use the fact that I haven’t watched it in a while as an excuse.
With regards to the new smileys, I like them so far but I haven’t seen many of them yet, so I give them a tentative ‘yes, I like them’. Let’s see how this one looks. 😛

A Mouse, I’d love to work with a real-life wrestler and I’m optimistic. And you’re right about moves and in the way that they win or lose being important. Lufisto to date, sounds like the coolest wrestlers so far!! To be fair there are a few others and I need to get off my butt and follow up on it. I also plan on printing up some Rival Angels comics and seeing if I can give the to some of the girls at the next SHIMMER show, just to see what they think.
I’m sorry the 😛 didn’t show up….booo!!
At the very end of Jack Ace’s last comment, he finished with ‘Shiny!’ ‘Shiny,’ was a phrase that Mal and Kaylee used a few times, but I’m such a Firefly mark that even if Jack didn’t mean that, I still read into it. :))
Okay, the 😛 showed up now, as well as (6)
The 😛 is appearing now, but the smileys seem to have changed a little; the 😀 looks the most different.
