Chapter: Chapter 7 - Armageddon Annhilation
Characters: Brooke Lennox, Krystin Moline
Location: Angel Dome arena
Completely off-balanced with zero leverage…yeah, Brooke’s got some power to spare and isn’t afraid to show it off.

Huh is right. How did Brooke counter that?
For the Honor of Grayskull!
It’s in the title of the update! XD
Clearly Krystin is lulling Brooke into a false sense of security.
Brooke is to full of insecurities to lulled into security.
Could be…
That angry look on Brooke’s face matched with Krystins look of shock just had me rolling. Obviously Brooke’s been hitting the gym during her time in dark match hell. So far the match has been fought fair, but I doubt that’s going to last much longer…
I agree, I’m just waiting for Brooke to distract the ref and then bye bye Krystins.
Glad you liked their expressions. 🙂
Imma starting to think these girls watch an awful lot of anime.
*ponder*
Anime is great to watch. You should see me do a power up.
Sun’s the only anime fan in the Upstarts. XD
I like it!
So do I but one question how come the short skirt never rides up?
It’s split on her left side. It would take her being put upside down for us to see what’s underneath.
Down boys! lol
Your not the only one! The last panel WAS THE BOMB! lmao
What was that about not announcing your moves? *shakes head* If everyone knows your finisher, someone might figure out a counter.
…
Brooke… figure out… um. Okay, so she probably had help. 😉
The only time to announce what you are doing is when the other person can’t stop it.
Yah, in the past tense.
I know, right? First one, then the other.
Sun may know her friends a bit too well to understand their ideal gameplan in the fights. 🙂
As for the fight itself, it seems that Brooke’s is playing a good game of possum against her former teammate.
Possums are evil and tricky. Never ever trust a cornered one.
And here Krystin’s weakness comes into play. While Brooke is ditzy and easy to read, Krystin is prone to overconfidence in a big way — just look at that interview she gave. While she has the skills to back it up, skills don’t mean much when your swelled head makes you sloppy.
And here’s that gordian knot cutting strength that I mentioned previously… Krystin’s error here is that she went for a finisher against a powerhouse while they’re still relatively fresh. You need to wear them down so they aren’t as prone to just powering out of a move. Hopefully Krystin will be able to find a way to reverse this shift of momentum, because when a power wrestler is on the offensive it’s hard to shut them down.
Rather than the heel commentary approach, I try to follow the dispassionate Gordon Solie school. Disapprove of dirty tactics but don’t make excuses for either side while giving credit where it’s due, heel or face, in order to treat it as a sporting event (which in the comic it genuinely is).
Probably doesn’t help that they’ve likely done training and sparring with each other. Brooke should, in theory, know Deftech better than a lot of other opponents Krystin may face. Add to that, yeah, Brooke’s only actually suffered what… an arm drag and a knee to the back? Not exactly “go for the kill” territory.
HB had to have done some work with Brooke as well. She wasn’t the worst wrestler ever, but had a skills gap when she arrived. It would be possible to close that gap with people working with her to get her up to snuff. She still makes a few mistakes, though — trying to get into fisticuffs with someone who has actual boxing skills is silly — but there’s no reason to expect Brooke to be at the same skill level that she was chapters and chapters ago.
I like where this discussion is going. XD Both girls have definitely been working on their game since last we saw them, as should be evidenced by the new hardware that Krystin is sporting.
And yay Gordon Solie! I dig it.
Concur on that, though Brooke’s win/loss record really wasn’t that bad before (granted they were a series against someone half her size). Her ability and willingness to actually learn is a factor though — Brooke has a talent for seeing what she wants to see and hearing what she wants to hear. So Kat can try to teach her, but how much has sunk in? That’s the question.
In this instance, Brooke’s own vanity is actually a bonus. It’s keeping her motivated, since she doesn’t want to be embarassed on her first night back in the spotlight. As for Krystin, she’ll pull through if she plays it smart and cagey, with an eye open for the Belles at ringside. Hard to do there because there’s so many of them. So far they all look to be in one place, but if Kat has any tactical sense she’ll have her troops surround the ring so Krystin’s back is always to at least one of them.
Brooke could learn a lot from Kat if she pays attention. Kat has that beautiful combo of strength and skill that happens with people like Terry Gordy and Steve Williams. She clearly has a lot of power, and a good arsenal of moves. But it’s combining that with something extra that separates the generic bruisers from the Bruiser Brody’s. 😉
Brooke’s W’s were mostly due to her woman-handling the Mighty Mite.
That blinders vision is a skill hard-worked on. Nice analogy with Dr. Death!! Kat’s a legit badass.Let’s see if that rubs off on Brooke.
I agree, when fighting big, really big powerhouses like Brenda I don’t let up. Attack, attack, attack until she can’t counter. Only after she is down and worn out then go in for the finisher.
Kryslin could learn much from you.
Brenda gets worn out by a trip through the buffet line, though.
Yeah, picking you up and moving you out of line gets old. But you’re good for getting in some curls – not to mention cling the jerk 😛
Did you possibly mean “clean and jerk”, you ditzy plastic paddy?
I’m not surprised you’d botch weightlifting terminology. You don’t lift anything that doesn’t have mayonnaise on it.
Clean you? Not even in your dreams. But jerk you, you bet. Every which way but loose!
And from your dreams, kitten
Brenda is no so big, just solid… maybe a little thick. As for Brooke I don’t think Krystin thinks the big blonde can go the distance so maybe a couple of hard knocks will put her out early. But anyone remember the Upstarts four-way battle? That was a brutal match up and Brooke actually took quite a few hits in it and that was years ago.
Hey now! I’m big! I’m bad! Honest! 😛
Krystin fancies herself a student of the game so she tries to study everyone.
Diva Breaker is a double underhook DDT.. like mankind use..
not an inverted DDT..
Brooke is like a hulk..
Dumb.. I… I mean.. strong..
Panel 1 Brooke said “Boobs smash..”
Panel 2 Brooke said “Boobs smash”

All Hell’s Belles Break loose!!!
Yes to the VI!
The DivaBreaker is a two-part move that Krystin has been using ever since the Rookie Fatal Fourway. http://www.rivalangels.com/comic/s01-c05-p54/
Your wrong my friend. Mistress Dark has the doublearm underhook DDT. The Diva Breaker is a combo move of Christian’s Reverse DDT turned Backbreaker before turning it around with the Impact DDT.
yeah krystin you were far from having brooke weakened enough for that to work unless you thought that the old “no one would think i’m stupid enough to try a finisher this soon- so it’s the perfect time to try it!” trick would actually work.
figure with kat and Amanda to train with Brooke’s probably gotten stronger during her time in the Belles and both know each other well enough that it’ll take something unexpected (or four people outside the ring atm) to get the win here.
though clearly Krystin’s watched too many brina matches to showboat BEFORE hitting the finisher. hmm yup- looks to be working as well as it generally does for Brina…
LOL! Yeah, Sabrina doesn’t have a patent on the showboating thing.
I expected to see a back breaker out of panel 4. But powering out of the headlock might not be so hard if one can quickly get their hips under them. But we’re talking Brooke here. She’s neither that quick or sharp. But I do admire her core power. That’s pretty awesome. I bet she gets it from doing the limbo 🙂
Maybe is cuz Brooke can fight from the bottom… or is because she likes being on the bottom? Mo Chen can neva’ remember which.
LoL Meowww!
Maddie observed first-hand in Paris that Brooke likes to be on top. 😉
Limbo training is vastly underrated. XD
Krystin still has time to leg sweep…
Like in Karate Kid!
I was thinking Russian leg sweep variation.
Yeah, that too! XD
Wow, Krystin pulling a Brooke-esque blunder here and taking a little too much time to taunt. Good thing for her she can get right back into game mode quickly
Youth has the benefit of potentially living through a blunder or two.
Brooke’s learned a few new moves for the ring in her off time. And possibly a few new moves outside of the ring as well, if you know what I mean. 😉
Yes and Yes!
