Chapter 10-Page-14-Done For?
Brooke was able to kick out of the tricky pin but now she’s taken some damage. Can Brooke recover or does Jen put her ex-teammate away for good?
Comic Creators For Freedom!
In years past, I’ve participated in the very worthy cause raising awareness of modern-day slavery known as Human Trafficking. Children are being trafficked and raped daily and slavery is one of the darkest stories on our planet. This physical, mental and emotional trauma can leave children broken and scarred for life. Love146 works toward the abolition of child sex slavery and exploitation through Prevention and Aftercare programs.
This year comic creators assembled under Lora Innes and Crystal Yates and together with 166 other comic creators, we got together and made a huge wallpaper spotlighting one of our characters in their awkward school picture! I chose to do Brooke this year and if you make a donation of any size and get a wallpaper featuring the awkward school photos of your favorite webcomic characters!

Win or lose, Brooke might have something to say about having the last word. Vote to see what’s coming up on Wednesday!
It’s not done. She couldn’t get the pin on a cheap roll-up. An eye scratch and a drop kick later, and she thinks she’s got a serious chance at picking up the win here? I find this unlikely.
Nice action, though. Going for the early pin seldom works in matches worth watching, but the attempt has to be made. It’s an important part of the building action. These panels are really dynamic and show the match well. You’re doing a great job of telling the story via wrestling here.
Early pins do work. I know for a fact when I pin an opponent once on my opening move and won. Though I will say that was very very rare and has never happened again.
Kitten is tricky.
Not to mention they psych value. If you can make the other doubt themselves or just be a bit hesitant, then wonders can happen. Head games are a big part of the Catgirls success.
Yeah, I understand the reasons for early pin attempts, both from the standpoint of the wrestler and the narrative. It’s just that it is very unlikely to actually finish the match.
Personally, I wouldn’t prioritize head games here. Jen has been on the receiving end all match long, and when she got a chance, opted for a pin attempt that gained her little, if any. It reeks of desperation. Head games backfire when your opponent can see the broader view. The best she’s managed to do is say “back off, be careful, don’t be so aggressive,” but you can make the same statement by hurting them back and keeping the momentum, instead of leaving it up in the air as it is after a pin attempt. However, my view is not terribly common in wrestling, so…
Glad you are enjoying the match. π
The Phoenix Dropkick!!!!
Complete with a Bikini flash.
It was a nice move.
Its updates like this that make me really hate the time between Friday and Wednesday updates. The longest four days of my life.
Just be glad you don’t follow the other web comic that I do. The last update was over a month ago.
which comic was that?
She might be speaking of Homestuck, though I think she might have commented on my avatar if she followed Homestuck. It is the Most Amazing Thing. The author has decided to slam out the final act and release it all at once. This includes lengthy animations set to amazing music. It will be some months before completion.
Or it might be some other non-updating comic.
Dirty, ruthless, win at all costs female pro wrestling! Nice. But it’s just too bad a red head was the force behind it. It’s possible another reversal could happen but that drop kick looked pretty serious.
Yes it did. Almost as ruthless when I jumped off a top rope recently and landed on someone’s chest, but no reversal happened there, giggles. So is it time for the fight to end or will Albone give us another week of it?
She has to kick out. So that Sabrina can slide in under the ropes and knock red out. And getting kicked out of her company and banned/shunned by everyone else. Thus providing the basis for forming a new company…Blonde Ambition Inc. Yoshi will come over to invest and consult. Boolean ha haaaaaa!
You might of won that match if you took those ears off….
As a fan, I would love for Blonde Ambition to happen the way you laid it out. XD
Hey! *snaps you a glare! Hmmph!
Like I said before, Brooke needs a miracle to win this match. Especially, after a move like that. π
Honestly one has to wonder what is Brooke’s overall track record at Rival Angels ?
157 to 89
Brooke recovers: watch the preview ;-).
36-26-…no that isn’t right, or at least not her record. Brooke’s official record is better than .500 which is very honorable, especially if you look at comparable records like in MMA.
English?
Nevermind, I googled it.
‘Tis less honourable when you’ve got a size advantage over almost everybody you wrestle! Should be winning more!
Another lovely episode. I really feel the action here.
That dropkick is evil. Right to the cutout. I hope those things are insured because you can bet no warranty would cover flying boots. Maybe Lloyds would cover them?
Thanks Champ, and excellent observation. One has to wonder if Jen was aiming there, or if it was incidental contact. O_o
If you’re not careful, your body will follow your eyes, y’know…
It might take a couple hands bigger than the one Mile Chrus brought out to twerk with! Maybe somebody at Lloyds has them. Gawd knows how dreary it is over there. They have to occupy themselves somehow.
Jen obviously watching some old tapes of The Nature Boy and Rowdy Roddy, learning all the shortcuts to stun your opponent. And aiming for Brooke’s “heart” with that missle dropkick… That’s got to have some big advantages to it. Right to the chest means she could knock the wind out of the bigger girl’s lungs, and should things get… shall we say, “moved around”, Brooke will concentrate more on making herself decent, giving Jen yet another opening. She may still be the Jobber of the Hell’s Belles, but you can still see subtle gameplans in what she does
Jen doesn’t have the best record, but she’s got a gameplan. Plus, she and Brooke were teammates, friends even, in Hell’s Belles so they know each other pretty well. So yes, that dropkick hit exactly where it was intended. π
Is her record a bit + or a bit – or else :)?
woohoo was kinda sorta right- except i had the eye rake before the brooke charge not after it. i see Brooke kicking out again though. she was in more danger from the roll up as roll ups are about the only move that you’re allowed to get a pin with that’s not a finisher. and Jen hasn;t used hers yet.
oh and kudos for the vinatge Gorrilla/Heenan exhcange in panel 4
I know you called it! Imagine what I was thinking when you said that on Wednesday. XD *bows* for panel 4. π
That dropkick is phenomenal! Jennifer doesn’t deserve to be booooed for it:)
That’s what I was gonna say. She might be a jerk, but who boos flying dropkicks? Flying dropkicks are awesome.
The fans are booing the person, not the move. π
Thank you, Albone. One of my favorite effects is the announcer calling it early and being wrong.
