Chapter 11-Page-28-New Interim Champion
May23
Just not Kat’s night and yet, she seemed so confident just a little while ago and with the Belles getting the victory in their tag match, though that didn’t end well for them either. Kat won’t forget this any time soon. And an obvious question to ponder why was Krystin appointed as Def Ref? The answer might not be obvious but something we’ll be exploring going forward.
Voting Incentive!
Yeah, that’s not the end of it. Vote to see what’s coming up next!
Kat has got to work on her submission escapes. Big girl like her and she’s been submitted twice now Xtina. Gratz champ.
It was a mercy loss to Xtina to set her up for the real big match later.
Ummm yeah.
Good thing the locker room held off on Kat’s ‘celebration.’ XD
Love both “Powergirl” Katherine Smith and Xtina Carpenter
and congrats to Xtina
Also..
Albone can we say..
Katherine can’t beat Xtina..
“AT ALL”
coz history stated Kat loss to Xtina multiple times
You should see me when I go into Power Up Mode, first time I did that Brenda freaked.
But while the giants of the company, Brenda, Kat and Xtina may make the ring groan and the stadium tremble they will never be as much fun as us high fliers.
I don’t like absolutes. I think anyone can beat anyone else on any given day. Xtina’s been given more time recently and her star is on the rise.
Oh really? Really!?? Hmmph! We need to have a talk. Why don’t you swing by my suite later…
Question her albone
how many sharshooter did Xtina applied for Kat in this match?
Panel 3: Xtina trapped Kat in the dreaded shapshooter again
could it be Kat escape?
countered
grab the ropes?
how many times?
You know if Albone would release a written transcript of the fight we could have all those answers without him having to draw each and every panel.
Transcript, Transcript!
M.G.C. – Go back to when Xtina and Kat fought for it last time… I believe the sharpshooter was the weapon of choice.
Kat escaped 108 times in this match. 109 got her. 😛
hmmm.. I noticed Xtina’s strength upgrade..
Panel : I do guess it’s a michiniku driver then pin…
maybe Xtina’s strength is like Monica’S Strength, with advantage on her is the submission expert..
Kat didn’t stand a chance…
hmmmm…
Yes Kat did but beating X-People can be hard since they are so hot now.
X-Tina mutant powers gave her the advantage this time but one day Kat-Woman will make a come back.
OHHHH!!
you put some X-men: DOFP reference there
Heh, nice.
Kat wanted to show the locker room that she could keep her belt without any help from Hell’s Belles, though Gabrielle and Michael probably wouldn’t have let that go anyways. So, Kat has some work to do.
There seem to be a few other ladies on the rise as well.
*Starts a “you tapped out” chant*
Joins in, Tap out lurker, tap out!
That makes no sense.
The Sharpshooter hurts!
Is Xtina’s left leg in the wrong place in panels 4 and 5 there?
Eh, it doesn’t matter, I approve of the number of people getting sharpshooter’d in this match. Also, at least we have an interim champ who deserves to be interim champ now.
Double-also, battle of the submission specialists once Def-ref is recovered! Yay!
No.
Whooops! I’ll see if I can’t fix that for the print edition. D’oh!
Glad you liked the match. 🙂
Something tells me Krystin did that in purpose to nt only spite Kat, but maybe payback for what happen last time with Kat and and the previous special guest ref…and my for Sabrina as well.
Plus, you cannot deny that Kat deserved that after her attitude from last time, right ?
Still, it was a fast fight to a faster lost for Kat.
Evil people do evil things. Kat is really a sweet heart.
This was only meant to be a recap, if you recall from this update 2X ago:
http://www.rivalangels.com/comic/chapter-11-page-26-tv-main-event/
There was much more going on, but I needed to wrap things up, and we still have another page left this chapter.
Kat sort of asked for that after boasting in the locker room.
Great fight. A belt sure can bring out the best in a wrestler.
Had a nice laugh to see the ref make kat wait on the tap out. Her expressions say it all too hehee.
Now for the VI. What’s that about? Only the Shadow knows. Ok, and the boss (I hope)
The Champ has spoken and everything is settled. Now to honor her words of wisdom:
You’re fun and you’re smart. You’ve stolen my heart. I’m giddy whenever you’re near! and please don’t get made, but I just have to add…
She’s got a gigantic huge rear?
Yep! Though Krystin and Jeff will remind everyone it’s still ONLY for the interim title. XD
Krystin was hoping things would shake out this way.
you look really great from the rear.
Okies I’ve caused enough problems for today, good morning and incase I don’t see you later, good afternoon and good night.
You replied to every single post in the thread, I would say you work is done.
Why thank you! *preens
It’s her best angle, since you can’t see her face!
Oh, she’s enjoying her reffing duties, me thinks.
She’ll be volunteering for that more often.
excellent work on Krystin’s part to make sure kat was really tapping out and not trying to fire herself up for an escape attempt by pounding the mat.
actually though both Dawn and Jeff have it wrong. Xtina’s a one time TV champ and one time interim tv champ.
Krystin is on her way to correct Jeff and Dawn. Well, she’s got one other thing to do.
Yeah, actually looked to me like Krystin did a fine job reffing. I was expecting a little more smack talk, but I really like that she handled it professionally instead. (Also, looking forward to her smack talk with Jeff and Dawn! *g*)
Heh. I suspect some folks have forgotten how her hand got broken int he first place, but Krystin certainly didn’t.
Glad you didn’t either!
Looks like Kat’s power game was exactly what Xtina was expecting and just what she planned to counter. It seems like Kat needs to start prepping better for her matches.
Kat came in thinking she owned the whole world, but Krystin’s surprise appearance as referee was just the start of a bad night.
Not bad Reffing for a person with one hand. Still leery of Krystin though. Wouldn’t put it past her to take a swing at Kat and Xtina with the championship belt when she gets it to hand to the new champ.
And unfortunately for Kat it looks like the paper champion thing was true. Well now a former paper champion.
Veronica Silver v. Nikki Foxx–*1/2
Katherine Smith vs. Crosstina Carpenter w/ special guest referee Krystin Moline–**
Potentially great matches turned into bathroom breaks all because the main character had her match, so who cares about the rest of the roster? Don’t they know that their only role here is to be the evil meanie to the virtuous and virginal Sabrina Mancini?
The worst part? This was for the (Interim) TV Title! Wasn’t this supposed to be an important title when Dixie first dreamt it up? Or has it already served its purpose, to serve as busywork for the biggest threats to the Rival Angels World Title while the “champ” relaxes and Dixie sets up tomato cans for her to beat up? Too bad that’s not going to work since Yvonne Carmichael is going to become the next champion and it won’t have to be called the Clifford Baines Memorial Trophy anymore since it will actually be defended.
As for the TV Title, that’s for Sabrina to win since that’s the only way the TV Title will get any notoriety. Kenny, on the other hand…
https://www.RivalAngels.com/about/
Rival Angels follows the story of Sabrina ‘Ultragirl’ Mancini and her three roommates in the fight of their lives as they battle against the best wrestlers in the world. As Sabrina begins her career she finds the road already full of personal and professional rivalries to contend with.
Eh, this is JSN-logic, where everything Sabrina does is evidence of an undeserved push and somehow the unlikelihood of her turning heel is a horrible fault (I suspect he’d find a way to complain about a scene of her brushing her teeth, citing that it’s taking time away from more interesting characters), Brenda is a paper champion (considering that she’s a main-eventer and thus doesn’t interact with the main characters much meaning she isn’t seen that often), and somehow his ratings of the matches are meaningful in any way, including making up stuff if the facts get in the way of a good dose of negativity.
In short, the stereotypical internet smart mark who likes only a few things and complains loudly when he isn’t catered to. (Nothing against people who genuinely like and study wrestling, he’s just fitting the stereotype very well).
Well, an Ultramaniac has spoken. Just clip any match that doesn’t include Sabrina or her friends because who cares about the rest of the roster, they’re all evil anyway and Sabrina (or her friends, but mostly Sabrina) will kick all of their butts in short order. Thanks for admitting that Sabrina Mancini is a shounen manga character who will only lose when the script calls for it. Which will be followed by the usual training montage for the next nigh-undefeatable move she will use ad nauseum until it doesn’t work anymore, rinse, repeat.
Remember, this is Krystin’s storyline. She’s the one who has to prove she still deserves to be TV champion. But since Sabrina is now stuck in the Tag Team division with Sun, the TV Title just isn’t that important anymore. We know Sabrina will win the TV Title eventually, I just hope it isn’t at the cost of
Kenny’sKrystin’s career.Brenda? She knows her role. She’s either the last boss that the chosen one, Sabrina Mancini has to face down the road before this whole adventure can wrap up. And she will be evil as well just so you know who to root for. Or she will be defeated by the Big Evil that the chosen one, Sabrina Mancini must defeat to realize her true destiny.
Dude, seriously:

Rival Angels follows the story of Sabrina ‘Ultragirl’ Mancini and her three roommates in the fight of their lives as they battle against the best wrestlers in the world. As Sabrina begins her career she finds the road already full of personal and professional rivalries to contend with.
It’s right in the description. Rival Angels IS NOT about the roster. I’m flattered you have favorites, but I make no apologies for not catering to them. The truth is that most readers come here for the Upstarts and their lives, not another rehash of Monday Night Raw. I can tell you that non-wrestling fans aren’t as interested about the other girls. If you doubt it, look at the numbers between Upstart matches vs non-Upstarts. Talk to them at conventions. I have and they ‘check out,’ when it’s not about the main character. That’s awesome that you’re such a big wrestling fan, but not everyone here is. They, yes, like Sabrina, Sun, Krystin and Brooke.
And your logic is flawed. You hold Rival Angels to kayfabe wrestling, when it’s not. You discount that the fictional fans like Sabrina and then you discount the real life readers like Sabrina and the Upstarts. YOU don’t like her, we ALL get it, but now you’re just trolling using trick knowledge. Trolling is a dick move that will get you banned. If you don’t like Rival Angels, that’s cool, just move on and save the uncreative snark that’s all about you, and not about any sort of constructive criticism. As a wise man once said, ‘Cynicism is not wisdom.’
Wow, that’s a fine straw argument you have there. I only mentioned Sabrina because you complain about her even in things that don’t involve her. And you dismiss any defence or counter argument as being made by “Ultramaniacs” and thus not worthy of consideration.
To reiterate what Albone said, the reason Sabrina and the other Upstarts get so much page time is because they are the central protagonists of the comic. That has been the case since day one. It’s not about the whole roster. Plus, again as Almbone mentioned, one of the basic concepts of the comic is that wrestling is real — the matches are not choreographed, the feuds are not scripted. Applying kayfabe with that in mind just doesn’t work here. Likewise, applying ratings to matches that are summarized in a panel or two just doesn’t make sense.
So I know it’s pointless, but I’m not sure what you’re trying to accomplish here… Heel commentator? People like Brenda, Snowy, Callie, and Mo Chen are involved in role-playing and have allowed Albone to use their characters in the comic, so it fits that they stay in character. What’s your excuse?
I know we’ll never see eye to eye on anything regarding wrestling. Anyone familiar with my posting history knows I like to find parallels with old school wrestling, I like technical matches, Japanese wrestling, and believe that any title is as important as the bookers treat it. I appreciate both faces and heels who play their roles well, since both are needed for a compelling story. That’s pretty much public record.
I guess what I’m getting at is that the comic is not and doesn’t pretend to be about what you seem to want it to be. So again, I wonder what you’re trying to accomplish when a lot of your commentary is completely at odds with some of the comic’ score premises.
