Chapter 03-Title Page-Recap
Apr29
A way to recap what happened last chapter, by way of today’s social media. Some interesting conversations, eh?
No NXT recap this week as I’m currently on vacation and I’m not entirely sure that I got to see it. Feel free to discuss it in the comments if you like and if I have the time and the means, I’ll happily jump in.

That’s pretty cool thanks for sharing 😀
The research is blessing and a curse.
I always have mixed feelings about pages like this. On one hand, it’s kind of a brilliant framing device. On the other, it reminds me that people are terrible.
Your response is what I’m shooting for. 🙂 It takes a little more time to do than a simple recap, but I like the results, sometimes resignedly so.
“Dinosaur Rua” had me envisioning Brenda stomping around roaring, trying to lock up with me but being unable to because of her tiny arms.
…actually that’s pretty match how our last match went.
Ahhh that famous Kaiju Match…
Destroying all those building models was just a bit too much, in my opinion… Also quite hard to fight in the ring when all those buildings are put around. Just not safe
But in general it’s better than tacks. Care to find out? I’m pretty sure between Callie and I we can find a scoop slam for ya? Mind, she gets a bit gropy/frisky at times 😀
So that is why you fight each other so much… the groping/frisky thing… makes sense
And sure… if you both are not worried about being beaten by an amateur… oh it’s true, it’s true
… SLOW CLAP …
It is pretty accurate to how these things go… sometimes the vitriol in which people attack others or defend their own opinion is pretty scary. There is almost never any actual persuasion and civil discussion is rare enough that it is a surprise when it does happen.
I just never really understood how people could get so wrapped up in being a fan of something that they are willing to spew bile I wouldn’t at my worst enemies. *shrug*
The anonymity provided by the veil of cyber removes many social controls. The true monkey mind asserts itself then. If only they knew they could be found if were they were worth the effort then cyber would be quite a quite different world.
Yeah, there’s no way people would act like this in public, at least most of them. There are some, while not ‘evil’ per se, just awful individuals.
Ah, the wrestling comment community. They’re like Fox News or CNN, they’ll tel you what happened… but with an incredible slant to whatever side they’re favoring.
And speaking of Telling what happened, here’s the NXT recap.
It was certainly a night for the fans, Asuka knocked out Eva Marie, Shinsuke Nakamura knocked out Elias Samson, and the Revival put everyone on notice.
First match of the night was the Revival vs 3.0 from Chikara (Though they wrestled under their real names as opposed to a team name). And we learned that if there was anything more dangerous than the Revival with the belts, it’s taking their belts away. It was a squash match where they destroyed both members of the team, then Dawson got on the mic and told every tag team in the world (his words) that they weren’t going to stop tearing through them until they got the belts back… and then they’d probably still tear through them anyways.
Next up was NXT Women’s Champion, Asuka vs Eva Marie. Cue Cory Graves fanboy impression for the entire match. The match was all Asuka, then she sent Eva crashing to the outside with a running hip attack while Eva was collecting herself on the apron. Nia Jax comes out, and actually doesn’t interfere, instead playing cheerleader. Other than a couple spots where they’d come back from a commercial and Eva Marie’d have the advantage due to something we didn’t see and they wouldn’t replay, the match was all Asuka’s leading up to that devastating spinning crescent kick to the side of the Red Queen’s head and the 1-2-3. Nia Jax comes in to help her KTFO buddy out of the ring, and there’s a staredown between her and the champ. Asuka throws a warning kick at Nia Jax, who doesn’t seem impressed as she collects the semi-conscius Eva and heads to the back, while Asuka looks a bit uneasy that there was actually a woman she couldn’t intimidate.
Next up was another tag match between the Hype Bros and a Bliss-less Blake and Murphy. This was just another example of things going downhill for the former Tag Team champs, as Ryder and Mojo dominated the entire match, save for a spot where Blake and Murphy targeted Zack Ryder’s leg, but it came to an end when they hit the Hype Ryder on Blake to win the match… at which point the Revival made good on their word and attacked the Hype Bros as they were heading to the back, laying out Ryder on the entry ramp, then attacking Mojo by the ring and hitting him with a Demolition Decapitation off the apron.
Next up was Carmella vs Aliyah. Carmella showed that she can still hang even with her boys called up to the main roster, and though while Aliyah had her moments and showed some promise for the future, it all came to an end when Carmella locked in her yet-to-be-named submission.
Capping off the night we had The King of Strong Style (and owner of my favorite entrance theme) against The Drifter. After a short interview where Samson declared that by putting him in this match, William Regal misinterpreted his lyrics, match got underway. They started out as you would expect from Swagsuke, with him getting the upper hand of Samson with some light-hearted theatrics combined with strong technique… until the Drifter leveled him with one hell of a clothesline. Now it was the Drifter’s turn to have the advantage, hitting Shinsuke with some hard slams, forearms, and an impressive suplex. The tide drifted out for him when Nakamura hit his Inzugiri into spinning heel kick. After that, all it took was a knee in the corner, the inverted exploder, and the Kinshasa… excuse me, KIIIINSHAAASAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! and Nakamura picks up yet another win.
As for the title change that happened up in my neck of the woods in Lowell Massachusetts, what we basically got was a “This happened, now here’s an interview with Joe from after the match”.
Great recap!
Ugh, I don’t like Cory Graves. I’m probably projecting, but I think he’s a d-bag. I saw a few of the After Shock (or whatever) especially the ones where he was at a comic show and Marvel Comics and he reminded me of every pandering a-hole who ever thought they were better then everyone else who enjoys that kind of thing. Like, if it’s not indie music, it can’t be cool.
But huge digression. Yeah, he was distracting and nonsensical during Asuka vs Eva Marie. I’m sure that’s what he was shooting for, and hey, mission accomplished. He can channel a biased moron like none other.
As for the match, it performed as advertised and Eva got a lot more offense in that I would’ve thought. I’m always a fan of the Ladies action but I’m not a huge fan of either lady so it was hard to get invested, but not half as much as some of the booking on RAW/Smackdown.
I always pop for Alexa and her match with Aliyah was cool in that as much as it was a break-in match for Aliyah, I think it was a good match to see Alexa in a match where she had to carry a new rookie (as opposed to a vet ‘rookie’) and that was cool to see. I saw Aliyah a few times on BREAKING GROUND so it was good to see her called up.
Samson’s promo of ‘misinterpreted’ lyrics had me thinking. Was he afraid or nervous about facing Sansuke? And that was a cool clothesline. I enjoyed the match and I thought it showcased the best of both talents.
I like this page, and yes, internet comment sections are often hives of Scum and Villainy which would make Obi-Wan think of Mos Eisley as a quaint, friendly vacation spot. 🙂 In fact, the page above may be a bit tame compared to some of the things you’ll see in real comments sections some places on the net. Depressing, isn’t it? Give a perfectly pleasant and reasonable person anonymity and a platform for speaking where a lot of people can “hear” them and a surprising number turn into complete arsehats.
Under Taker 24 = Brenda
And it’s not called ivory towering, it’s called backstage powers which Kenny could have had if she didn’t screw it up. At least she kicked one of those fujoshi’s butts before she gets sent to lower midcard hell.
Kim cameo! Doing what she does, er… best?
Someone put the LG logo back together.
