Commission Monday – Matchbook Pin – Valley Doll vs. Sabrina
A slight delay in the continuation of Christmas Angels but that means we have time and space for a commission I got from a very cool friend of mine, Valley Doll! She was gracious enough to let me commission her to do a picture of Sabrina on top, literally, of everyone’s favorite Valley Doll in a Matchbook Pin. Such a beautiful picture and not only are his forms solid, but the expressions on the faces of the ladies is what really sells it.

That looks very uncomfortable.
It is, but Sabrina is powering through that.
XD
Saw Payback, and with two exceptions, I enjoyed the hell out of it. The wins that were expected felt great and the ones that came out of nowhere certainly were a shock, but not in a bad way.
Now for the exceptions…
1) The House of Horrors match. Well, first off, everyone knew when they saw it they were trying to re-create the Final Deletion, but I didn’t mind that. The ending, though… that was just hamfisted. “How do we end a hell of a great storyline between these two characters? Slap his next feud on top of it.”
2) The crowd reaction to Braun Strowman’s destruction of Roman Reigns. Now, I didn’t mind the act itself. Hell, in a way, it reminded me of when Jake “The Snake” Roberts tied Macho Man in the ring ropes and set that cobra on him. It was believable, it was well played out, was slightly over the top, and was a good way to write him off TV for a while so he can heal up and mourn the unfortunate passing of his brother Matt AKA Rosie.
But what really pissed me off and made the whole thing incredibly uncomfortable, was the smark assholes chanting ‘Thank you, Strowman’ and “You deserve it”. I mean it was just uncomfortable and made me personally feel bad for Roman, who really isn’t as bad in ring as people give him credit for (Seriously, check out his PPV matches…. with the sound off, of course.) He’s far ahead of where he was when the Shield first broke up and everything just seemed forced. And you can hear he does actually have a sizeable amount of fans in the audience, and granted that most of them are younger…. but just imagine how all of them felt hearing their hero ripped to shreds like that? This article can say it better than I ever could. http://www.cagesideseats.com/2017/5/1/15497750/the-roman-rage-has-gone-too-far
The reason the fans keep piling on Roman is because the WWE kept telegraphing who their next golden child was, and it was too close to Cena’s reign of terror for them to accept that. It’s like Vince can’t let go of Hogan and wants to keep recreating that instead of moving on.
If that’s the case, then why not just boo Vince when he makes an appearance? He’s the one behind the whole Reigns push. Why cheer the hell out of the guy whose fault it is, then wish severe, lasting bodily harm on a man who’s just doing his job?
Because the writing team wouldn’t dare show their faces after seeing the type of heat Roman gets. The reason some of the fans cheer Vince is out of respect to the Mr. McMahon character he portrayed back in the Attitude era. So if neither the writers nor Vince get the hate, give it to the guy who benefits from the push. Then it just makes the announcers’ jobs that much harder. You can see it in the same old excuses they trotted out for Cena.
I have to admit, that I kind of saw the Women’s match result coming (hometown curse and all that) but I was a little disappointed, but I love both of them, so in the end, it’s all good.
The finish to the House of Horrors match was terrible. Everyone looked weak, nobody looked strong. God forbid they give Bray a clean win, especially at a PPV, when it’s not at the expense of AJ.
The crowd nonsense is getting irritating. I mean, they don’t have to love anyone, especially when Vince says you SHOULD like someone. it’s up to that wrestler to get themselves over. My usual issue is that peeps will say that Roman can’t wrestle, and that’s just flat out not true.
But with the continual beatings, it’s just getting a little icky. I was thinking of if it were a female wrestler continually getting the tar beat out of her, would it be different? Sadly, I think a LOT of fans would get behind that. And of course, that doesn’t make it any easier to watch. I think the crowd is trying really hard to get themselves over. Maybe management is being too obstinate with forcing Reigns as a face.
I loved that Bliss was wearing her Iron Man gear. 😀
The KO/Jericho match was great as was Austin Aries and Neville.
Speaking of Roman, nice to see you finally got a request to #makesabrinalookstrongagain. Even if it is to the resident jobber.
