Chapter 05-Page 10-Lowest Blow
May12
There are Low Blows and there is the Lowest Blow. There is no more blatant breaking of the rules than an intentional low blow, but here we see the referee only giving a warning and not an out and out disqualification. You can be sure to thank Atlas for the lax enforcement of the rules, especially when it concerns Cocoa.

The Dark Side is flippin’ strong in this one!
Strong like Italian coffee.
Hopefully Cocoa is going to get even worse treatment than Chloe De Sade.
Well, that is the whole point behind #gottamakesabrinalookstrong.
Her behavior does seem to warrant it, though we haven’t seen De Sade since!
Damn, right up the chimney.
She’ll be feeling that all throughout her smoke stack.
Oh no!!!! ๐ ๐ ๐
It totally gutted me to do it. ๐
BRA is a Japanese promotion, right?
If yes, then in Japan, refs are MUCH more relaxed towards rulebreaking. Hell, Minoru Suzuki’s main strategy is to get the guy out of the ring, and beat the living crap out of him with camera equipment before getting him back in the ring.
Bottom line, yeah, makes sense why a low blow isn’t an auto-DQ in this case.
BRA and it’s parent company, the MWA are indeed a Japanese company. I’ve found that japanese and lucha libre have way more liberal rules, which can make for an exciting match.
You have to remember that Atlas is in charge of the BRA, for what that’s worth.
Oh, yeah, I forgot about that guy… guessing a lot of things are allowed in women’s matches in that regard.
…I really need to reread the comic from the beginning.
The great news is that the archive is open 24/7, especially if you have the books. ๐
No more Atlas jokes. I guess BRA shrugged.
Heh.
Cocoa was too greedy going for that slap too many times. Slap Sabrina once shame on her, but Sabrina was having none of that the second time around. Should have put a little more omph into it and slap the bitch out of her. Not Quite shore what HBK eye is but it can’t be good.
And you can’t get any more blatant rule breaking than that low blow. I know the rules may be different in Japan, but this isn’t a BRA ring. Common ref, do you’re dame job!
I’m not sure that Sabrina can slap the bitch out of Cocoa all at one time. That’d be one heck of a slap. XD
HBK eye is when he fought Jericho and the ref called the match because he kept hammering on HBK’s eye. Google HBK Eye if you like! And it’s not good. ๐
Looks like Sabrina has no time to be drag into a mess Cocoa started herself. Still, it shows that this time around Sabrina was ready for Cocoa’s actions and has the back-up to prove she has grown beyond Cocoa.
I think this is all very well said. Sabrina isn’t the same woman that was in BRA last time.
As predicted, Rocco would be fine with the DQ… since she gets to keep her belt.
It doesn’t hurt to know how far she can bend the rules. Plus, with Atlas calling the shots, who knows how much those rules are enforced.
I’m betting Crusher is wearing a pad, the low blow being expected, and is pulling a lame duck here. She’s going to swing a steel toe up into the eye, pull a jaw breaker and take the gold home. Alone with Cocoa’s bra. That’s why they call it bra, right?
That should be “along with.” “Alone with” is too too creepy.
Does that mean that Cocoa would take Lucy’s top if she wins? XD
This is what happens when you push your luck too far, it turns bad. Of course, Cocoa losing her title here sets up an excellent cross promotional storyline where Cocoa blames Sabrina for losing the belt, even though all she really did was buy a ticket. Of course, knowing how Gabriella works, she was probably counting on this the whole time
That’s the thing about luck; it always runs out.
That is a great narrative, but I don’t think Sabrina and Cocoa need much prodding to pick up their feud.
since jeff is unavailable i’ll fill in
jeff: cocoa was going for a high five there dawn. what business does sabrina have attacking her like that during a championship match?
dawn: well cocoa did slap her first jeff.
jeff: that was before the match started so it’s all legal. this happened during the match Lucy should be disqualified!
dawn: what about that low blow just now jeff?
jeff: my monitor has been on the fritz all night dawn, I have no idea what you’re talking about. I just see Cocoa in control like usual.
dawn: will you stop?
Well done! *Claps
I agree! Jeff even thinks it’s okay. Kind of. He thinks it’s a better job than what Sammie would’ve. XD (Though we know she’d been excellent)
When you’re a heel champion you retain by any means necessary, doesn’t matter how you do it…as long as you leave with the championship. Clearly Cocoa knows this, she’s no dummy.
You and Cocoa know the Heel Code to abide by. Cocoa abides.
