Poor Sun! Hostile crowd and hostile opponent. She really got flattened by Katy Canuck. Her frustration reaching its breaking point from an over obnoxious fan that pushed his luck a little too far, Sun just snapped. Just like in the world, you have some people that are going to hate on you, no matter what you do. Of course, you don’t normally get to hit back at those same haters with an axe kick! Judging by the last panel though, it looks like Sun’s actions will have some consequences.
So this is where Sun’s hatred toward wrestling fans began. I wonder what the consequences is going to be for Sun. Contract termination, salary cut, lawsuit, or something else.
I hate how people use slurs like that so out of hand. They say it to be shocking, but racism is just not funny. Not at all, that guy deserves a swift kick to the jaw.
I say, Sun match is mismatch.. coz look at Katy Canuck, she’s like a 18-220 lbs lady. almost like Amanda Breaker. and also, Sun is just new, she don’t have mist, doesn’t know thumb to eye, any sneaky moves, and on top of that, Sun still not a Ninja.

Some Questions though..
Is Akira still training Sun? in this?
Different between ‘Ultragirl’ Sabrina Mancini and ‘Lil Dragon’ Sun Wong. could be that Biloxi crowd are more nicer than CCW crowd?
Akira sends Sun in CCW with a though crowd, could be a test? how can Sun do well, even if the crowd is against her? coz from the previous episode I learn, Akira been cheer and booo’ed in her carrier, but always did great in her matches..
Panel 4: what piss off Sun, is the “I guess not all Japs can wrestle” I think that guy just insult Sun’s mentor Akira. that’s why in Panel 5: Sun executed a high knee..
Â
what gonna happen to Sun? let me guess, been Transferred to Rival ANgels… hahaha!
I really like this chapter though.. Tough Drama! Tough decision between Sun and her mom.. her mom got mad at her in the last episode, but still Sun pushing on, even in this match.. Sun still doesn’t quit.. Story balance and Drama is okay..
I just want to know though.. I know after this, I mean after Sun’s development territory, even though in Rival Angels she wasn’t push, could it be that Akira requested Gabrielle not to push Sun.. making Sun riht fully earn a spot, but not giving her a push?
In which making Sun challenge herself, to excell it far more, but to chase more and more to be greater.. Improving each time.. be more greater than yesterday, better yet be greater than the last minute..
I love the Die Rookie Die sign, clever.
Are you gonna do origin stories for the rest of the main characters? A more ambitious person would suggest an “early days” side comic.
And the hubris finally kicks in.
Going after a fan is a big error, though. They can get very obnoxious, and I’ve heard some wrestlers say that fans shouldn’t get up out of their seats to get in a wrestler’s face. I don’t believe that. As long as it’s just yelling, and they stay in their place, fans should be tolerated. Especially when there’s a barrier to keep them back. If a fan comes over the barrier, bets are off, they’ve violated the rules, but a worker should NEVER attack a fan by throwing the first blow.
Ever.
PS2kid, Sun just lost a match and is feeling pretty frustrated, to explain her current demeanor though, this incident would explain her lack of faith in the fans. More to come on what’s in store for Sun.
Hey MGC, Akira’s training and involvement has ended for Sun. I think all of the crowds are notoriously rough in developmental and towards noobs. I’m glad you’re enjoying the chapter!
bd, the crowd has been known to chant much worse, so I’m glad you got a kick out of it. There are plans to spotlight the rest of the Upstart girls, as well as a couple of others. It really comes down to how doing an origin story fits in with the current storyline. If it can’t amplify what’s going on, we’ll just hold off on it for a bit. Yeah, an ‘Early Days,’ would be awesome.
Zodo, hubris strikes again! We saw it with Sabrina and now with Sun, though for different reasons. I agree that wrestlers shouldn’t attack the fans. YouTube has some entertaining clips to the contrary (Sabu comes to mind) but yeah, its a lose/lose all around.
Wow – huge contrast between Sabrina and Sun with the fans. Hard to believe Sun is not jealous of Sabrina’s relationship with the fans. Most people prefer cheers to boo’s – you only go for boo’s when you know you can’t get cheers… Important rule to remember – just because someone deserves to have his face kicked in, doesn’t mean it’s OK. If it was OK, our congressmen would be even uglier!
My guess is that she was finally driven insane by the constant gimmick suggestions…
But I think as many a sports star who has to spent most of their career within a meter of something calling you every name under the sun have found out to their cost, no matter what keep your cool and don’t jeapordise your career and your livelihood attacking the fans.
Thats what seperates the John Cenas out from the Scott Steiners my friends..
Well, Sun’s really going to have a lesson in anger management. That’ll happen when you don’t have much experience in holding your temper (and especially, I imagine, when you know you can tear apart the guy who badmouths you). It’ll be interesting to see the next chapter. Thanks, Albone.
Yeah, this I think not only explains her dislike of the fans, but also why she fights dirty, to level the playing field, making up for her plus’ and minus’. Like being a high flyer,(plus), she’s small in stature(minus) Also, Mr Evans, Your facial expresions are really good, they remind me of an artist I’ve seen before, I might have to go looking through my books to see who you remind me of… Maybe from the Early Walking Dead books? I’m a big Zombie fan, so that might be affecting my thinking. Take care, Also this story is fun Mr. Riley.
GhostEraser, once again you pick up on some subtleties. Definitely a contrast between Sabrina and Sun and their interaction with the fans. That being said, Sabrina’s interaction with the fans wasn’t always positive, but has been consistently good for a while. Good point though about Sun and her physical altercation with the rude fan, definitely NOT okay.
Prestwick, I think you might be on to something there and if that were the case, I think we could empathize with Sun and dismiss the incident entirely. Sun did almost exactly what Eric Canton did! That’s crazy!! We’ll have to see how this plays out further.
No arguements here, Darkmark, Sun needs to learn how to play it cool. Just like her BFF, Sabrina is a bit of a hot head but roughing up the fans physically is a no-no. Glad you’re enjoying the story!
Hey Joe! Thank you for the kind words, they’re very appreciated. And great thinking into the mindset of Sun. It would certainly cast some light on to her motivations inside the ring.
Yeah I remember it really clearly because I was watching the game with friends and he was coming off after being either subbed or sent off, either way he had had a really horrible game and this section of fans was basically taunting him just feet from him and he just snapped.
