Chapter 01-Page 8-Speak Your Peace
Brenda Rua’s back and what has to be a first in a Rival Angels ring (and maybe any wrestling ring) is a sincere apology. Sun’s obviously not having it. What about Sabrina? Will she accept Brenda’s apology?
You may recall that THIS is what Brenda is apologizing to Sabrina for.

PATREON is a crowdsource funding platform to enable fans and readers to support their favorite artists and creators. I’ve finally decided to create a Patreon page with the main goal of investing those funds back into the comic. Have all of the books already? This is a great way for you to help support Rival Angels.

TopWebcomics, OR, the Rival Angels Facebook Page. Whichever one you use, don’t use, use both, neither, it’s all good.
You can tell she’s sincere because she made sure to do this in the middle if the ring in front of all the fans and cameras instead of privately and professionally. It’s totally not an effort to get fans back on side who might’ve lost a bit of respect for her after her post-loss tantrum.
But the post match tantrums are what make pro wrestling so special.
Of course it’s not an effort to win back fans, because no fans lost respect for her.
Ouch. None to lose?
None to lose? Stop looking in a mirror, deary.
The transgression was public. Thus the apology needs to be public.
You are the only one I know who would just send a card. A cheap one at that.
That’s the best rationalisation I’ve ever heard. “I attacked you for no reason because I’m a stroppy cow and a poor loser, so I need to make up for this by stealing your screen time.”
And that card was adorable! I didn’t even know they MADE “Sorry For Concussing You” cards.
Ooo… THIS isn’t going to play out well…
Take your bets now!
Why do I get the feeling that there’s an underhanded trick involved in this apology ?
I mean isn’t Brenda involved in a team as well ?
In pro wrestling, almost all apology’s come with a dirty underhanded trick.
She’s been known to roll with the Catgirls. Heh, double entendre.
“This happen”?
Brenda are you pulling a heel move? You? Are you feeling okay?
She’s talking about the new colours. I think.
Yeah, that whole ‘Damage Inc.’ thing.
Ahhhh… It sounded like Brenda was about to have a follow up.
Wonder if Sun’s got another dose of mist tucked away somewhere?
If she does, I bet it’s a different color. 😉
Rua’s pants look even more painted on than usual. Also, Sun in panel 2 there looks like that could be her portrait in a fighting game when she uses her Super Move (is that incredibly specific of me?)
There’s nothing wrong with incredibly specific, especially when it has to do with lady wrestlers and fighting games.
Speaking of which, R Mika’s in SFV!
I’m super thrilled by her potential in the new game. She looks awesome and the tag team moves look amazing.
Are you Apologizing? THERE’S NO APOLOGIZING IN WRESTLING! 🙂
Never, ever, ever! Which is why everyone suspects something is up.
Watch out ‘Brina! That’s the leader of the Red Menace herself! Brenda Rua!
For the first time in like, ever, Sabrina has backup.
Very nice art work Al. You really have amped up your game. I hope you attain that which you seek.
Thank you kindly.
Brenda’s known as more of a heel, from my experience… I think I can see where this is going.
Oh, stiffle it, Viper!
Ashley’s comments made me LOL.
Ultrakick payback in 3…2…1. somehow I don’t think brina will take too well to the implication that da-ex-champ’s action is the ONLY reason she’s in DI now.
I’m thinking, possibly hoping, that the VI is Sabrina’s terrible poker face while Yvonne and Kyra have snuck in behind Brenda.
I WISH Yvonne would show up.
You are correct, Sabrina has a terrible poker face. But, is that what’s happening here?
What’s that Ultrakick countdown at?
and it will be complete with jeff doing his best “steve corino during a young bucks match” UL-TRA-KICK!!! girlish squeal of joy.
You know Sun isn’t going to take that backhanded comment Brenda made about Sabrina joining damage inc well. She’s already pissed at her, don’t give her more of a reason to go ninja on you.
Sun’s mood has gone from celebratory to piss and vinegar.
I usually assume that Sun’s mood is that ALL the time, with any variation being a thin crust on top. It’s one of the reasons she’s in the running for being my favorite.
Careful, Brenda. Jon Stewart tried this same thing, and we all saw what happened to him.
Where’s the Like button on this thing?
Why do they even *allow* tables in wrestling arenas anymore? They just get busted!
The sad fate of any wrestling table…
SAVE!
THE TABLES!
SAVE!
THE TABLES!
CLAP! CLAP CLAP!
Look who just came off her bum wine bender and realized the mistake she just made. Now that she’s apologized, she can just exit stage right so Yvonne can get on as the real Big Bad of this comic. Or is it Gabby who’s supposed to be the Big Bad a la Vince McMahon?
This is one of those cases where Brenda’s choice of words is making things worse. Brina never has had a problem with Damage Inc., and her initial refusal was very clearly a nothing personal deal. She’s been teaming with Sun all this time, Damage Inc. or not. So her saying “If my actions made this happen,” with the look of distaste, she is dissing her best friend Sun and a group that (save for one who is cranky) has treated her well and hasn’t tried to force her to do anything distasteful.
While I’m perfectly fine with the face/heel divide, it is fun when the lines blur. Good example of that currently would be the CHAOS stable in New Japan… they used to be straight up heels, but the introduction of two stables that were even more unambiguously heelish, they’ve shifted to, if not quite faces, definitely tweeners as the more outright heelish ones leave the group while those who were popular with the crowd regardless of heel status, (Kazuchika Okada and Shinsuke Nakamura in particular) remain as the core.
That’s kind of how I’m seeing Damage Inc. right now. Not faces, but if the crowd reflects the commentary there are a lot of people who respect them regardless of alignment, and so far Sabrina hasn’t actually done anything heelish. And no, if she kicks Brenda that doesn’t count… payback shots are usually given a bye until they go too far.
