Blah, we got an awful lot of Triple H and Stephanie. Consequently, by virtue of watching RAW a day later, I skipped a LOT of RAW.

Yay Emma and Paige! I’ll even settle for the continuing jobbing of Paige. I think every single person in the back was completely baffled that Eva Marie continues to get booed. Of course, none of us are confused in the slightest.
Sami going over on Owens was awesome. That match was awesome. Owens was awesome, Sami was awesome. Stardust was iron man of the match. Great match.
Taker-Shane took things to another personal level by continuing the Bitch insults. Seriously, bitch since birth? Wow, harsh.
Sasha beats Charlotte on Smackdown but Becky loses on RAW? This is me hoping that means that Becky wins at Wrestlemania!

Situational awareness and a cool, level head don’t always win the match for you, but very often, they can keep you from losing for stupid reasons.
I notice which side picked up the cheap roll-up win, celebrated like it was a great and meaningful victory, and followed up with petty trash talk. I can’t wait for subtext-illiterate posters to come along and tell me how awful I am for thinking that this is heel behavior.
(Seriously, Luis, can we not do that this week? Or, say, ever again? I don’t know if it’s meant to be funny, or if you really believe what you’re saying, but it pokes certain buttons just a little, and I’m already pretty stressed about unrelated things. Trivial as this is, I don’t have the energy to spare to be irritated about it.)

Seriously, after spending the last two weeks having people who matter to me define me uncharitably by their poor understanding of the things I say, and having to give up talking about things I love discussing because I apparently don’t know anyone with the mind for it, this makes me absolutely furious.
I realize that it’s not your fault I’m angry right now. There’s no reason that you would have any idea what would set me off. But seriously, I asked you to stop this because I need you to stop this. Trust me, we all have sucky moments in life. Me = I’m jobless (currently volunteering), carless (using family car), homeless (lives with mommy), I recently lost 2 people in my life (2 uncles on my mom’s side), there are times I dream of killing myself due to hatred online & offline (Puerto Rican near a town full of KKK/Skinheads), & I’m on Food Stamps/Cash Assistance (until I can get a job, which seems to not be happening).
So trust me when I say that I understand the bad, horrible, evil moments that life sends you. Plus I do like to talk a lot, so sometimes I may even cause problems around me, which to that I want to say “I’m sorry” for sometimes going further then it should have been, but its sometimes either friendly banter or back to back trolling. lol
But again, it’s all good & I hope it’s all chill between us, so again. *Extends hand out your way*
I’m going back to school. Almost none of my credits are applicable, so despite having a degree already, I’m effectively a freshman again, so I need seven more years of school. Except I had to take this semester off, because I was unprepared for how poorly organized my university is. But I dread going back, because my university has recently made itself famous world-wide for rejecting my core values. Even more than most universities in the country. I’m going to have to pay for multiple courses to be indoctrinated in philosophies I find horrifying… even though I’m studying engineering and law. So I’m doing clinical studies for cash while I wait. Plays merry hell with my diet and exercise schedule. The pay is good, but the experience is miserable.
While doing this, I’m living in a friend’s horrifying unfinished attic, in a house in a ghetto known for gang wars. We are the only white family living at the border between a Mexican gang, a black gang, and a domestic terror cell.
Said friend likes to think he’s nearly as smart and informed as me, so he tries to debate issues I love with me. Problem is, he’s not quite as smart as he thinks he is, nowhere NEAR as informed as he thinks he is, and has no education in logic, so he has no idea what constitutes a good argument and what doesn’t. He won’t drop subjects, and when I try to explain why his arguments are fallacious, he screams at me that I’m an arrogant asshole and starts ranting about some pretty hurtful things. I’ve just now reached the decision that enough is enough, and that I’ll refuse to discuss these things with him, which I know will result in a fight.
Oh, and this friend is twice my size, and I taught him to fight.
So yeah, when I appreciate nuance, and you oversimplify and make accusations, it doesn’t sit comfortably. Too close to home, y’see.
But again, nothing personal and not your fault. We’re cool, but I seriously need the whole “HEEL LOVER” thing to go away.
I don’t understand the whole collage stuff since in High School, I was labeled as “Retard” & was placed in “Helping Classes” when both my sisters were more mainstream straight A students & collage caliber students. In fact, I was always in trouble due to having fights due to dealing with idiots & baboons who love to hate on me everytime they get & me never backing down to them. So I nave gotten in trouble a lot in school due to fighting.
Also I understand being a small person within a sea of giant people. lol I am 5’4″ 145 Puerto Rican with the majority of family who are 5’8″ & Higher (6’10” uncle being the tallest & a muscle bound roofer being the real muscle which is my middle sisters husband). Also I don’t have a lot real friends in the real world unless they are friends with my sisters or my cousins (which are really them being my friends associates). I have like 4 & 3 are long gone with 1 being married & living far away from me to even hang out with.
But we all have to deal with the problems life sends our way & try to find ways to fix them to live on or make things better. So I hope things get better within your real world & hope they getter better as the day passes. I will chill with what I say around you just as you do the same. So I am happy we are at peace.
Seems like Sun and Sabrina will need a steady, firm hand to break down the circumstances in a way that they can learn from. 😉
Also, I hope things turn around for you, man. Hard times.

Note that the crowd reaction is a fairly sedate and calm “applause” rather than enthusiastic cheering. Looks like the crowd knows who got lucky to squeak out a cheap win and evacuate the ring with their tails between their legs so they could put some distance between themselves and the people who kicked their asses before running their mouths off like the heels they are.

OK SteinerB, You know they are not heels my good friend compared to the duo within the ring since Sun misted Snow & Sabrina tried to Low Blow Brenda. Besides again, they are not within a Heel Stable, BUT people have their ways of thinking. lol
The crowd is big fans of the Cat Girls and of me. There’s not a single boo or catcall through the packed house. But you’re right, it’s not a bring down the roof ovation either.
You’re also right about the cheap roll up being a part of the crowd reaction. No one would have it ranked as a fave. But it is one of the fundamentals. You learn it. You drill it. You use it when it’s presented or forced. Trust me I’d have loved to lay my signature Celtic Hammer on both of them! Low blow and mist. Hmmph!

Yep. It’s the sort of ending which leaves a situation unresolved. Pretty much a mid-feud match ending, really, which allows the storyline to continue. And as Albone said in a comment above it doesn’t seem like it’s over yet. In fact, that look on Sabrina’s face… Girl looks like she’s about to go full Nuclear meltdown. 🙂
Oof. Please e-bloody-nough arguing about “who the real heels are” ffs. There are no blue-eyes (babyfaces to you Yanks) and no heels because Rival Angels isn’t a professional wrestling promotion. It is a fictional serial webcomic based around a group of professional wrestlers in a world where professional wrestling is genuine competition.
In the context of that fictional promotion, babyface and heels as we know them don’t exist because wrestling is a sport and not a show. In the context of the story, what you have are protagonists, (which Sabrina and Sun definitely are, along with Krystin and Brooke,) and antagonists, which has consisted of numerous characters from Chloe to me to Brenda, and are not inherently better or worse people than the main characters, just people who finds themselves in opposition to them.
Except for Brenda. She’s a heel because she smells like stale cheese.

Sabrina & Brenda were the legal wrestlers within the match, so Sabrina & Sun made the major mistake of getting & pinning Snowkitten when they should have done it to Brenda.
Only the legal wrestler may get pinned to count for the match. This prevents somebody attacking the “outside” partner and pinning them but also results in the shenanigans we see above. Really a rookie mistake but happens more often than you would think.
Snagging defeat from the jaws of victory. Kim sympathizes.
Definitely a hard lesson.

Wow, a ref who actually pays attention to the action. This is a first! Somebody call a press conference! Seriously, anyone else would have booked it for Ultra-dragon to pick up the win, Brenda & Snow would have had a legit claim that they didn’t truly lose, building up heat for a big match on a PPV. Though by the look on Ultra-Dragon’s face, this is far from over.
As for Raw… I can’t complain, I really can’t. With Vince having angered that old gypsy woman and his business now being cursed to the point where talent is getting hurt at an alarming rate, (Latest victim seeming to be Luke Harper) They’ve got to try and put on the best show they can with who they have.
Eva Marie… oh god. The fact that they actually thought she could get over is just frightening. But for the gimmick they’re trying to go with for the match, she was the only real choice to round out Team (Somebody please cancel) Total Divas. With Nikki still injured and Rosa Mendes still on Maternity leave, it meant that there was only Eva Marie, or “I JUST made my in-ring Debut on NXT house shows” Mandy.
Six Man tag match was great, problem was, and we saw this with the fan reaction… it was just too long. I mean, when today’s “We’re all total smarks who deserve what we want” crowd is giving a “Byron Saxton” chant in a match with Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens in it, you know it’s time to have the pin happen. That being said, I really enjoyed seeing Run Owens, Run get a taste of his own medicine and that it was Sami Zayn tht Heluva Kicked his beard off.
Highlight of the night, as it has been for the past couple weeks, was Dean Ambrose interrupting Paul Heyman’s promo. Just coming out and picking out weapons for the upcoming Mania match like he’s going grocery shopping, not even giving Lesnar the courtesy of looking at him, and taking the ring steps… just the right mix of “Oh damn!” and “What the hell is this guy thinking?!?”
Shane vs Taker, It still feels slapped together, but with Wyatt vs Taker having happened last year, and no one else on the roster not involved with the main event really able to bring the star power to carry an Undertaker Wrestlemania match, the storyline is as solid as they can do. On the plus side, it’s good to see that Risk-Takin’ Shane-o Mac is back.
The ref did a fine job here. There was a lot going on. But he knew who was legal. So did I. So did Snow. She played it purrrfectly. So there’s a case of assorted fine micro brews for him to say well done. Sorry but I don’t do the Bud or Coors thing.
Donny they are welcome to a rematch. But I think it would be Rose in there with Snow, not me.
I’m still up for doing a handicap tag match with them. But I suspect the fans would rather see me face either of the other two Upstarts now.
Yeah, but who knows what Empress Fancy Boots is gonna think. She might see dollar signs in putting you in the program. Can’t deny that you four have some great in-ring chemistry

If Sun and Sabrina win, it’s, ‘of course they did. It was 2 on 1.’ And that doesn’t help anyone.
If Brenda were to beat them both, it would bury Sun and Sabrina. That doesn’t help Sun and Sabrina’s future.

I would love to see The UltraDragons vs Brenda Rua Handicap match since they look so pissed at you. lol But if all of you look at each update it seems that Sun had more hits on Brenda then Sabrina did, so I would like Brenda vs Sun but I see Wong having DI &/or Sabrina at ringside to help. lol
Or maybe Brenda vs Krystin since she did take Rose out & will most likely try to make things up to Sun & Sabrina again for what happened. But again for my personal liking, Brenda vs Brooke would be a must! lmao
Zack is one of the best referees in Rival Angels, so he tries to call a good match.
The WWE is bound and determined to try and get Eva Marie over. Remember there were plans for her to have the NXT title from Bayley by now? Oy.
Run Owens Run was terrific. I got to see him in an unadvertised appearance at a NXT house show and the man has it all.
I don’t see why they “had” to bring Eva up. Not like anyone was chomping at the bit to see a 5-woman team as opposed to a 4-woman team. Remember Eva is just to balance against bring Emma up. I’d rather seen Emma hold the belt in NXT before she came back. And for that to happen no one would need to call up Eva and balance out these overstuffed teams.
One issue I have with these big shows is that instead of getting 3-4 women’s matches we always get one giant sized battle royal or 10-woman match.
I know someone is going to say “But, Charlie, they don’t have enough time to let women have so many matches.” to which I would reply to this fictitious person “There would be plenty of time since nobody cares about the ladder match or really wants to see New Day against League of Nations for the 100th time”
You know, you might be on to something there. With half the roster hurt, what’s the harm in using the non-injured Divas roster for a few more matches?
Wouldn’t be mouthing off too much if I were Snow and Brenda. They only won by dumb luck and the skin of there teeth that’s as clear to see as the green on snow’s face, and there not that fare away for a post match beat down. This is fare from done and if that cheap shot artist Brenda wants to get involved the next time Ultra dragon and the cats face off I’m shore would be a few people in Damage ink that would happily even the odds.
All I got to say about Raw is it’s a shame they got Page jobbing and what?

Paige has been steady jobbing. it’s a noble job, but I wish there was some rhyme or reason but there never is, week to week with the Diva’s division.
paige is getting the “she’s an ex-champ (recently so people will remember it unlike nattie) so by beating her diva X is shown to be much improved” treatment. still- even if she only decides to wrestle til say 30- she’s got about 8 years or so to collect more title runs.
supposedly people in the back were surprised to hear eva marie got booed when she came out because… reasons? oh wait “she’s a total diva so she’s automatically a face- cause, total diva.”
I say they make eva reigns’ valet and have her take the credit for everything reigns does (successfully that is). finally he has enough and fires her. he may break the 50% cheers mark that way.
I love the idea of Eva Marie becoming Roman’s manager. That is some great thinking. 🙂
Paige and Nattie need to take the (hopefully reintroduced soon) Women’s Tag titles. Emma needs to start a feud with either of the triple threat losers (while the other feuds for the title).
You know The UltraDragons were ok to having their way with Snowkitten thanks to Krystin helping take Rose out. So Brenda did the right thing & even the odds. Also The Oklahoma Rolls isn’t a cheat move unless it involved cheating (Pulling Tights, Partner Assistance, Rope Assistance), so with Brenda doing it in the middle of the ring & no tights being pulled, she did it the correct way, it is what Dolph Ziggler would do when needed.
How do you square the Catgirls spilling Sun’s personally, embarrassing secret on live TV to gain an edge over Sun as a Face move? Sun didn’t do anything to deserve that. Andre lost his job and Topher broke up with Krystin over it.
Allot of ruined lives because some people couldn’t keep there mouths shut.
Okay, what I think is going on:
Brenda wants a match with the Number One Contender.
A deal was made.
She’ll get that match, but only if she teams up with Snow and beats Ultradragon.
This is why she was motivated to fight hard in a match that wasn’t really the match she wanted: she’s got a prize waiting for her beyond just winning a normal tag-team match.
I’m enjoying this a lot.
The match between Brenda and Professor Shannon McCourt for the #1 Contender’s spot is now ON. Shhhhh, I didn’t tell you that. 😉
second match in the comics i think is total 100% bullshit. NO way in hell Brenda recovers from an ultra kick that quickly.
well she had already no-sold one already earlier in the match so given the time to get snowy back in the ring, hit the splash and the confusion over why the count isn’t going on is enough time for Brenda to recover I would think. now would be a good time to mention the surgery to have an iron jaw put in though ex-champ.
It’s understandable. Very few people understand the biomechanics of striking, especially KOs. There is no single Platonic ideal of an ultrakick. Each strike is made up of many variables, like force, point of impact, vector of transfer, shock to the brain. I’m sure Brina would like every kick to put out her opponents the rest of the night too. But luck fell on my side this time.
Just goes to show you what a monster force Brenda is to shake off Sabrina’s best attacks. If you’re a Sabrina fan, it’s got to leave you scratching your head, wondering what else can Sabrina do? Is it really impossible?

Wrestlers change up finishers quite often. Paige had to change her finisher when her old one didn’t put Emma away in Revolution.
Do they? I”m thinking of Sting, Undertaker, Brock, Cena, Roman, James Storm, Charlotte, Nikki, Punk, etc. I think they only change it when they want to add something new.
Changing finishers quite often? I dunno… Maybe I’m just getting old and not remembering things right, but it certainly didn’t use to be that way. A finisher used to be a Murder-Death-Kill, it’s all over, strike up the band and stick a fork in ’em move except for in very rare circumstances. Unfortunately that seems to have been watered down in wrestling quite a bit over the last couple of decades. You just didn’t get people kicking out of Jake Roberts’ DDT, or Randy Savage’s top-rope elbow. The Tombstone would end you, no questions asked. Rick Rude’s Rude Awakening did not leave you with a chance to continue the match, etc, etc. And yes, I realize the above examples completely dates me when it comes to what era I started watching wrestling in. 🙂
Anyways, I remember these guys having their finisher and sticking with it, not changing it up willy nilly because it suddenly didn’t work anymore.
Maybe not all the time but certainly enough that I don’t think of it as rare. I mentioned Paige changing up her finisher mid-match in NXT. Seth Rollins changed his a lot. Cena changes his up from F-Bomb, STFU, and now Springboard stunner. How many did Edge have? Edge-o-matic, edgucution. Kurt Angle used a triple suplex or the Angle lock. etc etc etc
They may have wanted to refresh their image, but kayfabe they added new finishers because somebody kicked out of the old one.
I think that’s why NXT, some of the Indies are really cool because Finishers matter. SHIMMER will on occasion have someone kick out after a finisher, only to have the attacker hit the finisher again or another high impact move and then get the win.

yeah more finishers are changing these days than before because it seems the new thing is finisher spamming. before like steinarb said- those guys weren’t having people kick out of their finishers because it, you know finished them. the big thing then was people desperately trying to escape before the finisher could be locked in/executed because everyone knew it was over otherwise.
I remember being shocked during the hbk/bret ironman match when hbk connected with sweet chin music- and it wasn’t enough so he needed a second one to finish bret off. just to highlight how much the match meant to both.
now it’s “finisher”- kickout, other “finisher” kickout, third try, counter into their “finisher” which is kicked out of. watch a recent angle match in TNA and if you had a shot for every finisher used in the match you’d be dead of blood poisoning just about. reminds me of the castle in the swamp in monty python and the holy grail. “the first finisher was kicked out of, so we did it again, and that got kicked out of, so we did it again- this time there was a run-in, foot in the ropes and a ref distraction so we didn’t get the pin again. BUT THE FOURTH FINISHER WORKED!!!”
plus I think some of the finisher changes were made due to health risk of either the person doing it or the person taking it (except with nikki bella cause you know they HAD to knock AJ out of the record books even if it killed nikki- and now she can’t wrestle again because they had her out there hurt all the time just to keep the timer going) ie. punk and the pepsi plunge, no more piledrivers of any kind unless you’re related to paul bearer, styles moving away from the styles clash, etc.

That was one of the ways Jerry Lawler would get himself disqualified.

Of course, if anyone can book singles matches, it’s Gabrielle, just don’t be surprised if Brenda’s next match is against Shannon McCourt for the #1 Contender’s spot for Yvonne’s World Title.
