Chapter: Chapter 2 - Sunburnt
Characters: Amanda Breaker, Brooke Lennox, Cheerleader Neveah, Cheerleader Serisette, Golden Girl, Krystin Moline, Sabrina Mancini, Sun Wong, Victoria Buckingham, Xtina Carpenter
Location: Angel Dome backstage
Sabrina and Krystin have taken the loss especially hard. Sun’s processing it, but she might have trouble keeping Sabrina from doing something she might regret.
Do you recall what Sabrina is talking about, when Gabrielle forced Sun and Sabrina into a team?
WE ARE FUNDED.
Thanks to everyone for your support. With over 2 weeks left, let’s see if we can’t hit some of these Stretch Goals!
I unlocked a sketch I did on PATREON. Click here to take a look!
Honestly who knows where the blame falls under in this fight. Sabrina shouldn’t take it too hard as this was an unexpected turn of events.
Plus who truly knows what goes on in the mind of the boss ? 🙁
A bittersweet ending to the Angels I fear is coming within this final season. 🙁
Who knows if they can come back together from this ? 🙁
It’s definitely looking dark for the Upstarts. This is probably the worst catastrophic failure as a group that they’ve felt, with Brooke and Amanda losing their match with help from Krystin and Sun and Sabrina losing their redemption match, with help from Krystin.
Off the script? Like the boss sent me to punish them? That’s the cost of a title shot? Only the Shadow knows. Well ok, the Shadow and the boss.

Sabrina went in an interesting direction with that. Unsurprising, though. When you’re in a slump, the mind will tend to go to “where did I go wrong?” Drawing heat from on high certainly seems like a logical destination on that road. Derail Gabby’s plans, and she sends in the Brute Squad. Fortunately, Sun seems to have no regrets.
Krystin looks contrite. Will she keep acting ever more desperate, or will she actually engage that brain of hers?
It’s getting to the point where seeing Brooke being supportive isn’t surprising. That’s some great character development from where she was with the Belles.
Know my favorite part about the art on this page? The body language. Very evocative, without being overblown. It’s usually good, but you nailed it here, Albone.
Forgot to add my favorite relevant quote.
“Sometimes all you will learn in defeat is that you have been defeated.”
The body language was super important to me to get right, so thanks for saying so!
Krystin has to come to terms with her evening’s plans consequences and repercussions. Sabrina’s never been a good poker player so she won’t keep it to herself how she plans on accepting responsibility and moving forward.
The only difference between making a deal with Gabrielle Reni and making a deal with the Devil is that Gabrielle signs your paycheck.
Also, Hell smells more of brimstone than Italian leather.
Well… depends on which part of Hell you are talking about… All that BDSM gear can’t be too close to heatsources or it breaks…
Your Avatar is AMAZING.
Oh, I dunno about that. It can get pretty hot in My playroom *Grinz
I have some, I guess I should call it sympathy for Krystin, I know she feels bad for what she did.
But I have no empathy for her. She knew what she told the Catgirls was seriously off-limits, and she told them anyway. “I had no idea they would trash talk Sun in the ring with what I told them” BALONEY. “I had no idea the camera was going to be there.” Umm…ok, DefTech, if you hadn’t told them in the first place…
To me, what Krystin did is actually WORSE than what Chloe did. And most physical injuries can be recovered from, with what Krystin did, you can’t unring that bell, and she was one of their friends. She feels sad and angry about what she did? So? What does feeling sad and angry do to undo what she did?
The Catgirls, yeah, they’re pretty much the heels of the piece, one step up from Krystin, they only got her to tell them the info, and then used it. Yeah, they say they wouldn’t have used it if they’d known that at the time if they knew the camera would catch it. But the fact remains is they used it, and they can’t unring it either.
Hey, Krystin owned up to it, when it would have been easy to let Brooke take the fall. That’s worth some major points right there.
That just prevented it from being even worse. I will give her points for after-the-fact honesty and for feeling bad after the fact…but that’s all I can give her, and that just isn’t worth much in this case.
THIS is what rock bottom looks like for Krystin. All her plans went wrong and she burned her bridge with the Skybox. It’d be easy for her to blame Brooke, Sun and Sabrina and maybe before Sun’s secret got out, she would’ve passed the blame on, but this is her trying to accept what she’s done. She still has no idea on what to do next.
Sorry that I couldn’t post during the last page, my computer had major issues so it was being fixed.
The fight looked good and I was a bit surprised by the ending. I tend not to use the “B” word. Then again poor Albone would have a hard time coming up with my crazy remarks…still good job.
So Sabrina is going to tell a secret….cool…
Well, the B-word was used in a casual context rather than a direct and personal one. After all, only so much salt is needed for that wound. XD
Gratz on getting Kickstarted! 😀
Thanks and thank you for your support. 🙂
Some fantastic facial work here. Really conveys the tension that permeates every single panel.
Thanks! I really worked at that and glad that it turned out.
Looks like both Kristin and Sabrina feel espeshally hard about the match for simaller reasons. Kristin saw her chance at redemption and forgiveness go up in smoke. And Sabrina is blaming herself for getting them in that position in the first place by not wanting to fight her friend. Both girls really need to rally from this.
That is the big, giant obstacle in front of them, trying to rally from the heartbreaking losses and get back on track. As you can see, that is going to be WAY easier said than done.
And who says that Gabrielle isn’t vindictive as hell?
Everyone says that, if the subject comes up. Loudly. While very carefully avoiding looking over their shoulder.
