Chapter 03-Prologue-Dream Opponent
It’s an interesting question because there’s a new trend in Combat Sports to NOT go for the championship of the company or division, but to get the highest paying fight or the highest profile. Many times they go hand in hand, but not lately. Connor McGregor comes to mind. He’s a champ, who doesn’t defend his belt but gets paid millions of dollars to fight. I love the Notorious One, but it’s a fact.
What do you think and what do you think of the Upstart Girls’ decisions as far as Dream Opponent goes? And Brooke…what she wouldn’t do to get out of Developmental. 😛
Sorry no RAW Recap, as I’ve only been able to watch half of it so far. :/

Oh yes, Sabrina, trusting to matchmakers had been a hallmark of your young career alright…
Like Sun’s plan is working… any better than yours…. Just say’n… *grinzzz
Sabrina just had to sit back and let everyone challenge HER. 😛
The whole world knows what Brooke did. And does. Meow!
Yep, she put her money where her mouths is.
Or something in her mouth.
Meow!
Ah! The good old days when the girls were just starting out and were naive about what they were about to get into.
Kind of nice to see the Upstarts back at their starting points.
Plus, Brooke is still herself, just a little grown up and mature now.
I agree with all of this! And happy you think so. 🙂
Brooke: Million dollar body and five cents worth of brains.
I didn’t remember her having the botox lips and boob job so early on. But I do recall the big back and shoulders.
Yep, she had those from day 1.
A great side story would be Brooke wrestling too soon after plastic surgery and having her looks messed up for awhile. I’ve seen it happen in real life.
Oy, that would be one crazy story. Do those kind of stories have happy endings?
I’m with Sun. If you don’t want to be the champ, you’re in the wrong business.
Gives you a long evaluating look Hmmmm….
Sun’s goals are especially ambitious as she wants to be the first Triple Crown winner.
Sabrina’s trying the Company Woman angle, eh? Looks weird on her.
“The champ” is the obvious answer… unless there’s someone making themselves an obstacle. Once you’ve got your foot in the door, championship is a great goal, but you can usually find your way closer to it by beating the tar out of someone you hate.
Sabrina is still playing it safe here, not wanting to rock the boat. There are some fighters who take it as a personal insult if you call them out, kind of along the lines of Mickey Rourke and Jericho. Still so fresh and naive. XD
Well with that last comment I think we know what one of the matches will be. Meow.
A catfight?
Whose last comment?
I’m kind of waiting for Brooke to start doing… special favors to Gabrielle herself…
I think Brooke is capped off at Michael as far as special favors go. Then again, stranger things have happened. 😉
First time here for Mo Chen was a dark match against Loretta Diaz. Full 30 minutes to a draw. Parts still ache when I remember it. Still hoping for a TV bout versus Brooke, but there’s a few gals on the roster I’d be happy to tangle with.
Ah, good times and Sabrina empathizes with you. As for Brooke and the rest of the Upstarts for that matter, I think their schedule is pretty full, but you never know.
Bring it on, mei mei!
Oh boy, Brooke. Don’t ask any questions you’re not ready to answer yourself on air.
Yeah, she left herself wide open for that didn’t she? lol
Wouldn’t touch that line with a barge pole! 😉
Personally think that the champion needs to defend the belt more there respective company’s. You can’t go weeks and months without defending the belt and then turn around and say that you’re the longest holding champion when you never even defended the belt ageist anyone! There not even putting the belt up for pay per views anymore. Whats the point of even having them fight if its not for the belt and make it worth something!!!
yeah, that was a headache in the UFC not too long ago. Anderson Silva had the belt for 8 years, but really only defended once or twice a year. I think Jose Aldo had a similar situation. Currently, Yvonne has been defending the belt more frequently, but she’s waiting for the upcoming Shannon vs Brenda match to see who is the #1 contender. After Shannon/Brenda vs Yvonne, Camille Cote will get the next title shot.
Seems a bit ironic that Brooke wanted a match with Sara Valentine but it was Krystin who feuded with her.
