There was that FAWN commission that had Brooke using the press slam so we know she can do it.

For what it’s worth, none of the Belles are upset that the fans aren’t on their side. Brooke normally doesn’t either, but the more they do it…

A question about Brooke’s grip in the last panel, it sort of looks like she’s grabbing the shorts that Jennifer is wearing under that skirt, but it looks like she’s grabbing them at the outside of her thigh / hip. If she’s going to pick her up gorilla-press style wouldn’t it make more sense for her to grab hold of the front of her leg?
While we can’t be sure it’s a gorilla press, if it is, legs are squirmy, squirrelly things. The best spot in the area to get both the initial lift of your opponent and be able to hold them up there is right between the legs.
That pesky skirt keeps getting in the way. 😛 Callie’s got it right, should this be a gorilla press slam.
The whole set of panels is awesome, but the main left-side panel is awesome awesomeyness.

Jen seems to be targeting the back and chest of Brooke, not too sure why. I personally would have gone for a leg. Brooke’s fighting back, though. A lot of people seem to think that Brooke’s going for a Gorilla press. I don’t know. I’m thinking she’ll pick her up in a fireman’s carry for either a Samoan Drop, A Spiccoli/Death Valley Driver, or maybe even a TKO
Jen’s strategy is a little less strategic and more taking what’s given to her. Plus, there’s something to be said for bullying a big girl like Brooke, but that has its dangers too.
Brooke has been known to use the Kudo Driver, so a DVD isn’t out of the question. Maybe an airplane spin where the crowd counts, Cesaro style? XD
Despite being petite and not particularly muscular, Jen continues to try to fight like a powerhouse, including her target choice. That’s the sort of strategy that leads to desperate negotiation attempts while being hoisted overhead. Just like this.
The art is really something else here. Especially panel 3. BRILLIANT perspective work, man.
Glad you liked the update. 🙂 Jen likes working with what’s given to her, plus there is a little personal animosity between them so things were bound to get less technical.
I can understand the appeal of power techniques. That’s how I fight, and I love it. But Jen isn’t built for it. I could see the explanation of this being a grudge match, but every time we see her wrestle, she’s pulling from the playbook designed for those with ample power. It’s a cool character detail. I love it. It’s just that the result is what we see here!
I don’t think Needles is that petite. You just see her standing next to Kat too much.
Jen is Sabrina-sized, for what that’s worth.
bah ok sitye keeps booting me to the previous update in the middle of typing so here’s the short version.
Brooke is going for the AA (or in her case the Double D). judging by VI she does the “turn around w/jen on her shoulders and accidently kicks the ref rendering him KOd for the next 25 minutes” move. Brooke goes for the cover, no ref, brooke tries to help the ref up.
this tends to end poorly for the person helping the ref so i’m going with Brooke turns back around, boot to the gut, Nosejob, Jen wins for the first time in singles competition in her RA history.
Sorry that the site keeps fighting you, but this whole thing made me LOL. That bit about Jen winning for the first time had me rolling. XD
There seems to be a theme with this set of panels…
