Chapter 10-Page-23-SNAFU
Some of you wondered if Sun and Sabrina were being overly reckless or not being as efficient in their strikes. I’m not saying that they were holding back, but considering the circumstances and the deep ties between them, it does seem likely. But what’s the story here? Sun is obviously still upset with Sabrina but she was about to take an Ultrakick.
So what happens now?

Ah yeah…that‘s what going to happen. Vote to see what’s coming up on Friday!
I don’t know which of them I’m more disappointed in.
What, is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
From what I’ve heard, very few of your swallows are unladen.
Wrong answer! POOF!
That’s one less pest. Now where’s that Holy Grail?
European or African?
Right! But I knew somehow it was going to go this way. It would be just too hard to write the wrestling destruction of either one at the hands of their dearest friend. So there is only one thing to do. Find a red head and take her down!
Sabrina, if she commits to fight then she shouldn’t have missed.
Hers was the sillier choice, but I’ve come to expect that from her. Sun I have (had, now) higher expectations of.
is this NOT get any good..
Bad for business, so I guess, Yvonne will get involve and kick them both out..
Very bad. Sabrina…I fixed the fight for you to win. No I won’t.
Fight for your job, not I can’t fight my best bud.
Yvonne has an upcoming World Title match to protect. She’s, officially, not going anywhere near this trainwreck.
Time for a commercial break and the commentators fast forward the teleprompters.
“Huh?
“What just happened?”
“Did they skip a spot?”
“What page are we on?”
Shocked at Sabby not willing to stiff Sun right then. It’s not like they’ve haven’t fought before.
That’s why I’m disappointed in the airhead. She thought her job was on the line AND felt that Sun had betrayed her, and she STILL wouldn’t lay the kick in. I’m just not sure she’s in the right business.
Sometimes friendship and loyalty is a higher power.
Even I know you gotta be able to fight friends. You can stay friends afterwards if you’re both sensible peoples but in the ring you gotta go all out.
And heck, at the point she’s throwing the kick Sabrina can’t possibly think Sun is her friend. Sun’s shown every sign of being a big old backstabberer.
.. I’m sort of bewildered by the amount of stupid in the ring.
“A friend in need is a pest!” Bobby the Brain Heenan
Sun’s disappointed in Sabrina too! She crafted this elaborate plan (okay, MAYBE help with Yvonne) about making this a win-win, so to speak.
Scuffles, your point is solid about putting friendship aside, however, that’s not the only verse in this story. If Sun wins, that’s it for Sabrina. I don’t know that Sun would be comfortable wearing that for the rest of her career.
If nothing else, Sun would say that she’s invested too much into Sabrina to see her gone now. However, this all is based on the fact that Sun is self-aware enough to know that in a straight up match, at least with these circumstances, Sabrina wouldn’t beat her.
Granted, Sun could’ve declined the match, or took a straight count out from the onset, but if there’s one thing the Upstarts (all of them) are known for is not taking the easy way out.
Heenan is outstanding.
and Sun even gave her an out by not telling her beforehand. so Sun could eat the kick, go down, brina covers. keeps her job. so it’s not like what brina says at the end about how it all started. it started because Marina came out (on gabby’s orders) and TOLD her to take the cheap win. if brina doesn;t know she’s getting a gift then it’s not the same.
well til now anyway
Good point. And some of their sparring got pretty intense as well.
Sun is shocked too. She ran straight at it and Sabrina still went wide left.
Buy Jiffy litter, the litter that doesn’t clump and smells like wet dog.
Now back to our show…
And Hells Bells have pinned both fighters…
this is all Gabrielle fault at the first place..
Sabrina is a face. then Gabrielle shockingly wants Sabrina to win, without even consulting her..
I guess if something happen to Sabrina against Damage Inc..
Katherine and Jen will come to help Sabrina..
http://replygif.net/i/111.gif
I think that’s the funniest gif I’ve ever seen.
Gabrielle is in it for the money and the show.
So not her fault for being a vulture.
I see an executive chair in your future, snow.
I don’t see Kat & Jen helping Sabrina out at all.
& for Snow, I think she wants to be on Gabby’s good side to get a title shot. (tag or even a World. lol)
Awkward. I can honestly say I did not expect Sabrina to miss. That said, grand scheme to help Sabrina keep her job. Sort of called it? I didn’t think it would come out that soon, and I can honestly say I was more for thinking Sun really was trying to sell Sabrina out. I mean, who wants to be kicked in the face? Title shot on the line or not, a match is still a match.
When you know someone too well, then something like this happens. 🙁
Look, Saby and Sun are two very dear friends and the thought of a full on wrestling matchbetween the two of them just doesn’t sit well with either. So now look for an arch enemy like….Rocco or Rua or the French chic to come in and try and finish what Sun couldn’t bring herself to do.
Me?!? Well that would make a statement.
But I’d be more inclined to but both over my knee in the back room. It’s possible to have a full on competitive match as friends and have the relationship survived the tension and emotions. You shake and hug away the down sides. But that’s harder to do the more cheating that goes on. This puts the pressure more on Sun here.
Beat downs and run-ins to enforce the boss’ will is no Brenda style. But, there are plenty of girls in the back willing to pick up some brownie points…
(*again glances at Callie*)
Brownie points? Sun was offered a title shot. I’d better get at LEAST that or I’ll be otherwise occupied.
Sun could have faked the hit if she wanted to. Now she has shown that Sabrina is soft and does not have what it takes to win no matter the cost.
I can use this against her. Evil grin.
You know ladies that Gabby is about to have a cow. And when she does, she’s gonna’ to pick some heavies from the locker room to start a new match. Speaking of heavies, Callie are you up?
I ain’t heavy. I’m your sister.
You know I mean heavy hitta’ right ?
Mmhmm. In any event, if I recall correctly, first it was Kyra vs Monica, then my match is of course the main event. After that, Brenda does something while everyone leaves to beat the traffic.
I can vouch that you’re a lard ass. I’ve been carrying you for years now.
Only because you lost that “Loser Becomes the Winner’s Donkey” match to me in Tijuana.
To this day, I’m still not sure we understood the full intent of that stipulation.
Huh. You know, I’m not entirely sure that Gabrielle left the stage…
Hasn’t been enough time… and the VI is pretty much giving away that Gabrielle is about to lay down the law or send out some enforcement.
Still BFF :)? http://youtu.be/zN_DsKiDg4Y.
Looks like Sun presents a lifeboat for Sabrina. This looks bad for both of them. Gabrielle won’t be amused :D. http://youtu.be/3KSuDWS4suk.
And that’s why I’m disappointed in Sun. Not so much that she’s giving up her title shot, (if she did the maths and decided it didn’t add up, didn’t like her chances against King Kong Rua, thinks she’d piss Yvonne off moving past her, etc, and having a loyal ally outside your stable certainly has value, then maybe it’s a clever move,) but that she apparently planned to pretend to lose at the first possible opportunity.
Moreover, when Sabrina wouldn’t kick her, she should have kept the pose up and gone back on offense rather than having a bloody heart-to-heart in the middle of the ring.
In this case, I’m agreeing with you in regards to keeping up the pretense. I am a bit confused… in the last strip it very much looked like Sun WAS a moving target, as she seemed to be charging at Sabrina. That she stopped was not at all clear.
Remember that Sabrina doesn’t have the script (which is good, ’cause frankly she comes off as a very unconvincing liar), and Sun has had opportunity to whisper something to Sabrina if she wanted to make sure she acted accordingly. So it’s on Sun’s shoulders to make a loss look convincing.
So, I applaud the intent (alas, Callie, I am a naive face-lover at heart), but lament the execution (you don’t break character so blatantly). That said, it IS in character for Sun to toss the script when frustrated. While she has many characteristics, patience is definitely lacking.
Yeah, once the Ultrakick went wide, Sun decided that the penny dropped and not to keep up the charade. She’d sell the Ultrakick, but not the Phantom Kick. Her hypocrisy has limits. XD
For the record, I wasn’t expecting Sun to sell an obvious whiffed move, nor should she. Rather, it would have been smarter to keep up the match and look for another opportunity to get pinned — a wrestling match is chaotic, and you can’t expect everything to go the way you want it the first time around. So Sun just standing there berating Sabrina very much seems to be her temper getting in the way of her brains.
Sun’s got some skills. She’s done well for her time in service. But she knows that while a title shot would look good, it would be offset by the crush of facing me. And she’s got about as much chance of lasting against me as a cheap bottle of gin does against you.
I think Sun vs Rua would be a great battle. Sun dominates the champion with cheating old school tactics, some submissions, & her high flying abilities… But Rua wins at the end, where it all counts. lol Like Heel Austin Aries vs Sting or Heel Ziggler vs Cena. But that is me. lol
I think that Yvonne is using this as a teachable moment for Sun, honestly.
Sun made a bad mistake and is going to pay heavily for it.
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!!
She assumed that when she left Japan that she knew all that was going on in Sabrina life. She then made up this plan to knock some sense again into her BFF. From the last comment, she didn’t watch her last match in Japan (I bet you she only watched the ending of the fiasco), nor read the rumor mills about Yoshi/Sabrina. I guarantee that Yvonne knows Sabrina’s life story at this moment, but good ol’ stubborn Sun wouldn’t talk to her boss and get good practical advice. Emotional young adults are highly unpredictable.
If you don’t have the necessary information, you are going to get burned badly. Sun could soon be in as much trouble as Sabrina.
Nice life boat to Sabrina to bad she didn’t get in.
Looks like I wasn’t too far off…
Are we watching wrestling or a brand new episode of Total Angels? lol
I hope RAW is smart enough to call of a commercial right about now. lol
How about bad girls all star wrestling battle?
BOTCHAMANIA IS RUNNING WILD FOR ULTRADERP!
And you guys thought these nicknames were baseless. Even Sun admits Sabrina’s a bonehead who just can’t get right.
But now, there won’t be the butt-kicking Sabrina needs and deserves that will bring her back on the right track. Sun still has beef over Ultragaijin smashing her way across Japan, creating a new emotional support system for herself while disrespecting her craft. Since Sun still shows mercy to this hopeless charity case, it’s time for her to show Sabrina who the better wrestler really is, put Sabrina (and us) out of our misery, and get rid of Ultragoof for good.
Or maybe it’s time to bring in a new member of Damage Inc. since Sun obviously doesn’t know what’s best for business.
.. Okay, so Sun’s plan is super tricky and all but I think she just broke the plan.
Because the boss is actually watching and she just actually said she tried to break the boss’s plan. Out loud. On camera. In front of everyone. Including the boss.
Minus five points for stupid!
She did chuck the plan…she was down with selling the Ultrakick but not the Phantom kick. More on this Friday…
If the ref knows what’s good for him, then he should leave now. As this conversation is going to take a while. 🙁
I also wonder how Sun will feel, when she learns of Cocco betrays Sabrina like she warned her of ? 🙁
The ref is Sharon Gonzalez! And, I don’t think her duties are quite over for the evening. 😉
Sun is most likely aware of Cocoa’s betrayal, but not Yoshi’s marriage proposal.
Not moving? Sun was running right at her!
This is not the sort of swerve I was expecting. :p
Nobody and i mean NOBODY is more shocked than Sun. She was running right at it before it did a Scott Norwood. XD
*EPIC FACE PALM*
Does Sun not know Sabrina at all!?!
Sabrina doesn’t want to be GIVEN a win by anyone for any reason!!
GAH!!
*shakes closest person*

Baby ‘Brina Watch!
Just when I thought all was well in the land of Babies and Kitties, Senior Savage broke his self imposed quarantine of Sabrina-Ripley’s baby pen. He dashed inside and stole…HE STOLE… Snuggletooth Sabrekitty from right out of her widdle hands and dashed away!!
While I was on much needed baby consoling duties, my lurvely Lori cornered the misfit (no easy task) and retrieved the plushie so it (could be cleaned first) returned to the tiny grasping hands of its rightful owner.
Senior Savage has been suitably scolded, but we’ll have to wait and see how much he cares.
*sigh*

Peppy Dancin’ is a terribly important requirement of anyone wishing to sign on with the Upstart Nation. Take notes. *nod*
clearly senior savage didn;t want to lose his place in the card so he attacked the young Upstart trying to steal his spot by hitting her where it hurts. the plushie! could the baby bottle be next? tune in friday to find out on the latest adventures of Sabrina-Ripley!
🙂
That’s why Sun didn’t let her on the plan. XD (And good to know that you know that about Sabrina. Just sayin’) 😉
Senior Savage is very brash and sassy! They pets take on the personalities of their owners. Just sayin’. XD
Awww, poor baby Brina. That’s the problem with babies and pets. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen our dog snatch food out of my niece’s hand. Lucky for the dog, though, Jaycie just thinks it’s hilarious when she does that
NOOOOO! fingerpoke of doom was on the whole time!!!!! (course it might have helped if brina was in on it)
and BAH GAWD KANG! THIS MATCH HAS BROKEN DOWN INTO A VERBAL DEBATE!!!!
do like the ref in the last panel though, uncertainly suggesting that perhaps this isn’t the time for chit chat. VI hasn;t updated though.
Whoops RE: the VI, I should be able to fix that on my lunch break. You DO NOT want to miss it. XD
But what if I do?
WHAT IF I DO!?!
*shakes you!!*
Buh! It’s up, it’s up, see for yourself. XD
Sun is SO jealous of Cocoa…
Sun doesn’t want to let that go, eh?
(BTW, my work has blocked your Trevor site…for GAMES. :P) Albert comes through fine though. 🙂
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that Sun’s jealous of Cocoa, while Cocoa turned on Brina because she was still besties with Sun. Oh the comedy. Now if I was Brina, I’d be arguing this out with Sun, then when the “Hug It Out” chants get answered, I’d whisper “Belly to Belly”, wait for the nod, then suplex, pin, win, job saved
Well, sure….but now you ruined Friday’s surprise. XD Now the real surprise is if Gabrielle lets it stand. XD
Well, that all depends if she’s smart enough to pull off the “evil Boss” role as well as the McMahons do…. or if she’s just screw it up so bad that it actually costs her company fans and revinue…. Like Dixie Carter
If memory serves me correctly, Gabrielle seems to be perfectly fine with match fixing…
I’d be happy to remind her.
*nod*
Curse your sudden but inevitable…loyalty?
“Boot to the head!”
“You missed.”
In the first panel I was like “Holy shit, she moved quick.. like outta one of dem dere animes…” But then I saw panel 3’s text lol
