Chapter 4-Page-23-The Future That Was
Sep10
Yikes, Elite sure took off in a hurry but in there defense, Atlas McNair is ‘A’ boss if not ‘THE’ boss so his talk about Sabrina’s future isn’t something to be taken lightly. Sabrina’s just got to play it cool, right?

The slime has entered the room.
Slime is good. It makes the good look better when it is around. Though this one seems to want to help Sabrina.
And just like slime, it’s hard to get off.
Ummm what!?
For such a big guy, he sure is stealthy.
When us big men level up enough to change our class from “adolescent” to “adult” we get access to specialization trees in disciplines like”Popping up out of nowhere like Jason Voorhees.”
He has to be stealthy or he’d never get close to people.
I think Snowy nailed it, but they are at a nightclub. And just think how he positioned himself so that he’d be obscured a little bit by Ian’s mass.
Boss or no, large male wrestler or no, anyone who puts their hands on me to “talk about my future” is courting pain.
Shoot, look at panel 2. Total “Your soul is MINE!” vibe coming from McNair. I’d smack ‘im one just for walking up on me and my crew looking like that.
I’ve never cared for the touchy type people who think they can touch whenever theyh want. The huggers are the worse. I don’t know you or I don’t like any yet if they seem they try to hug me. I think it is a cheap thrill for them.
I think the proper response to the last piece of touching is to crack the worm hard.
I’m glad that there aren’t any illusions to you all about Atlas’s intentions and have to say that I sort of support the Sabrina response that includes cracking Atlas one.
I would personally ensure that Atlas regrets his actions here, but something tells me that Sabrina is going to beat me to it.
I would do a more thorough job, of course, but really, that’s like trying to expand on the joke three seconds after everyone’s stopped laughing and the conversation’s moved on. Doesn’t matter how well you do it, because the moment has passed.
One of he problems with getting physical with him is he might be the type to consider it foreplay or worse he will hit back. Then Sabrina would have to face him in the ring.
Back when I read the strip where Brooke gave Michael a black eye for inquiring about the possibilty of a threesome with her and Sabrina, I felt she’d gone too far, because I feel that if you’re going to hit somebody–whether it’s your own gender or the opposite one–you’d better have a damn good reason for it. And “They said something that made me really angry” is not a good reason.
In this case, though, Atlas has already made it physical by grabbing Sabrina and not letting her go. I think that qualifies as a good reason for Sabrina–or Ian, or Yoshi, or somebody–to get physical right back, somehow, so that she can get away. She definitely shouldn’t do anything to give him the impression that this is acceptable behaviour.
As for Sabrina’s “future” and what seems to be Atlas implying “Go to bed with me or I’ll wreck your career”, does he have that kind of power over her? I got the impression that Sabrina was sent to Japan to send a message that Rival Angels wouldn’t tolerate its talent brawling in the middle of a wedding, so she had to spend X number of weeks there, but she eventually would be brought back. Atlas can’t do anything to affect her standing with Gabrielle Reni, so can’t she pretty much tell him to fuck off here and still retain her Stateside job?
The full out reasons for Sabrina being in Japan will be revealed as well as any sort of working relationship between Atlas and Gabrielle. Atlas is basically a co-booker for BRA/MWA so he can’t really impact her Rival Angels career too much, though that would depend on how good he is with Gabrielle/Brenda/Yvonne, etc.
Expect a proper Sabrina response on Wednesday. 😉
You can bet that Sabrina won’t go limply or lightly into the night with Atlas.
Another kind of swerve! Be interesting to see how Sabrina gets out of it…I know he’s expecting the kind of attention Brooke delivers.
Agggressive males like that don’t take no for an answer. So the question is where are the bouncers?
Man, Atlas would be in love with Brooke.
Some people rather learn the hard way. I hope Sabrina puts this jerk down hard. 🙁
While the is what everyone expects in the long run using physical violence is not the answer at this moment. I think a very loud voice and saying something like “Get your hands off of me!” will get everyone’s attention and force him to back off.
I eagerly await you and everyone’s reaction to Sabrina’s response and subsequent conversation with Atlas on Wednesday.
Possibilities:
1) Yoshi calls out McNair to return from retirement for a match.
2) Sabrina pulls out the Ultrakick, pinpoint precision with the heel going into the base of the gullet for impact like Umaga’s Samoan Spike.
3) A plate of pancakes saves the day once again.
4) Atlas finally discovers the joys of dressing up like he’s attending something classier than a baseball game.
The possibilties are limitless.
Options 3 and 4 are pretty tight. The Ultragirl heel spike is pretty awesome too.
After that offer I’d take him to bed in a heart beat. A hospital bed.
A hospital bed… oh kinky!
Don’t say that Snowy, or he might take you up on your offer!
LOL!
And the ghost of promoter Billy Wolfe smiles broadly…
This seems to be his main legacy.
Ugh, that guy was a turd.
Ah, you know about Billy Wolfe!
Very interesting, boss. It’s nice to see you shine light on a very common problem. It’s also nice to see all ya chivalrous warriors react. But I assure you it’s not that black and white to Brina. She’s young. She’s a long way from home. She’s feeling the balance of power here. I don’t know what she’d do. But she knows she’s not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
I teach Snow’s approach because The Way requires minimal force. First remove his hands and quietly but firmly tell him not to touch. Black and white. If he does it again step away then say it loudly. If he does it again then make him kiss the carpet and repeat to taste.
Erm, this is Sabrina we’re talking about, correct? Young blonde hothead? About so high? *holds hand up* Control over temper about this high? *moves hand well down* She looks rather…perturbed in that last panel.
I’m not saying she’s going to haul off and clatter him, but her right fist looks to be balled off, so she’s at the very least fighting off the urge.
Hehee yes good points. I’m not saying she’s got the discipline or the skills to do any of that. And for all we know this may be her first head-on in a work setting. It will be interesting to see this play out.
One thing appears to be solid though, and that’s the backing of her team mates.
Oh yes. They backed away as quickly as they could.
Ian’s still standing there, for whatever that’s worth. So apparently he’s thinking “I should really do something, but then this asshole might fire me, but then again I can’t just let him get away with this, but…” etc.
I’m hoping that “You know what, she friend-zoned me, so why should I help her?” doesn’t go through his head at any point. If it does, that’ll make him almost as bad as Atlas.
I eagerly anticipate your reaction to Wednesday’s update. All fantastic points from everyone and knowing Sabrina, she’s probably visiting them with pinpoint speed in her head like a rollercoaster.
i see the final panel has Brina preparing to test the “power of the punch” on Atlas. was that Yoshi coming down the stairs in panel 1? if so Brina may find she has some backup here after the elite heads for the hills. Though panel 3 has Ian’s best “pardon me sir is that your drink over there that i may have accidently bumped into?” expression.
base on the VI i think Callie has the correct Brina response. on the plus sides bar room brawls are more acceptable in wrestling than wedding fights (not counting those that take place in “this very ring” of course) right?
of course what might happen after the casting couch is shot down, then stomped on, then burnt then blown up before the remains get tossed into a blender is probably not going to be a pretty sight since Atlas doesn;t seem the type to take “No” very well…
NEXT CHAPTER: ULTRA-LUCHA! Brina gets banished to Mexico.
yeah replying to myself but just thought of something. wonder if this is a chance for the Yvonne Carmichael special forces bodyguards finally earn their pay and save the day drawing Brina closer to the Darth Yvonne side of the Force?
Heh, just where have the Syndicate been? You could look at it as they’re doing there job really well, by keeping any attackers at bay before they have a chance to do any damage. Of course, where ARE they now? (In my mind, they’re on the floor below this one.)
YES, that is Yoshi in panel 1. He might have some thoughts on the subject especially since Elite scattered like a flock of birds.
And no matter what anyone thinks Sabrina should or shouldn’t do, it is a fact that Atlas does not like the word, ‘No.’
One good turns deserves another…Brina in Mexico!!! She’d totally steal Ricochet’s mask on the way out. XD
Sabrina’s fist is clenched, this dude is getting clocked. I can pretty much guarantee it, and this gives her a first class ticket OUT of Japan. Only hope Cocoa will go with her! lol
Sabrina is ready for a brawl, but I don’t think anyone likes Sabrina’s chances if Atlas were to retaliate. Of course, would that fact stop our little Ultragirl?
I just think she’s gonna belt him!
Very well could happen! But Atlas is a tough guy and may even enjoy it.
Asking Ultragirl not to play it cool is like politely asking a firecracker to not hurt you as it blows up in your hand! Its best to just sit back and watch the fireworks.
You’re telling me…Sabrina’s not known for her coolness under fire, and her stable splitting on her when the creepy boss shows up, doesn’t really help.
My dudes about to get tossed over a railing senses are tingling, sick him bree dont holdback well hold back alittle bit dont wanna killhim no matter how justified it may be
Your senses are spot on.
Kick ‘im in the nuts. Make sure this guys doesn’t breed again – either on purpose, or on accident.
Now THAT is something that a girl Sabrina’s size could do to drop the big man. 😛
Hey I womder if Atlas still gets in ther ring every now and then…because he’s JUST the type of guy I like putting on the recieving end of a Flight of Icarus (Skytwister Press)
Atlas is always down for ‘one more match.’ 😉
Excellent
Sabrina’s biggest victory yet, and she has no time to celebrate it. Atlas gives me the skeeves.
It’s so definitely not fair.
Swerve: Black Widow for the save!?
Ultimate swerve. Don’t count Bitsy out!
Good point. She’s on the roster and might well be at the party. Check the buffet.
She could always just spit on him. I’m thinking more of the response Jim Braddock’s wife did with Max Baer in CINDERELLA MAN (which see), but I don’t think she’s got a drink handy.
In that case, throwing a drink might work as well too. *thinking*
