What the-? There’s only ONE person who uses the green mist like that…and that person is…

*snerk* thought that might happen, but didn’t want to spoilerfy it.
… then several other people spoilered it, anyways. 😉
Not sure how Sun got there so fast, but… heh. Ninja’d. 😀
It’s a confusion on the timeline. The match with Callie to start the new chapter is present time. The flashback covered multiple scenes: Sabrina spending the night with Yoshi, Sabrina calling Sun, Sun having earlier flashback to her boyfriend cheating on her, then Sun having her match and afterward receiving her call from Sabrina.
The only reason it seems so sudden is because of the length of the flashback, and also that there wasn’t really an indication of how much time had passed between Sabrina and Sun’s call and Sabrina’s match.
It was fast, but maybe not as fast as you might think? More to come on that. Ciel’s got it right, there was quite a few flashbacks and I was shooting for the big reveal here.
…okay so Yvonne hires them to protect her but they really didn’t do anything from what we saw, then someone else hires them to attack her and she just happens to be there on the very night that this happens and she’s the reason that Yvonne hired them to protect her in the first place.
Did she know that they stopped their ‘protection’ job ahead of time and comes to the rescue? All pure coincidence? Some serious explanation is needed.
So confused on that I forgot to add Aggro looks funny with her legs to the side and up like that. What kind of punch was that to do that? Did Sabrina go Power Girl on us?
looks like a punch to the mound to me.Ouch!
Yeah, that does not look fun. Mind you I have approximately zero pity for someone who lays an ambush and fails to notice that their partner got replaced somehow.
Artistic license? Sabrina’s buckled Black Widow with that stomach punch before and that’s when she was ready for it. Aggro Beast is definitely not ready.
Definitely not coincidence, but you’ll have to wait until Sabrina asks to find out Sun’s motivations. 😉
Oh, see below about the general explanation of the timeline. I’m not blaming anyone for not catching it, or the subtle clues that Sun was under the pajamas (including having a closeup panel of Sun’s eyes, and then to the right of it in the border is Sun with her eyes shut) but those that did obviously had a leg up that this was coming.
Sun? What the… or…
Oh, that tricky lil ninja…
Its expected for the girls from the same organization to be able to attack eachother, but isnt what sun’s doing illegal or something? Is she allowed to attack another league’s employees.
Well, if she was masquerading as Kunoichi then technically she gets a day pass in MWA:BRA. It’s not like anyone amongst the crowd would have seen K’s face to know who she was, so the reveal would have been only as noteworthy as to anyone amongst the Japanese crowd who had seen and remembered Sun from her previous Japan tour before going to Rival Angels.
Meanwhile, in terms of whether Sun is allowed to show up on Japanese TV, they’re not really in the same market to be considered competing with each other. An American company like Rival Angels would have a hard time enforcing a non-compete clause in another country. Remember that the WWE tried unsuccessfully to prevent Brock Lesnar from wrestling in Japan after he severed ties with the company the first time. A court ruled that it was insane to try to prevent Lesnar from earning a living in his chosen occupation anywhere else in the world than with WWE.
So Sun should be safe. Besides, Sabrina didn’t have to send in tapes or get an agent to help her apply to BRA; she was sent there to work after being taken off of Rival Angels television. So the companies must have some kind of working relationship.
Just saying that if some stranger walked into my place of work and started beating people up I’d call the police.
Yep. But that’s regular logic. Wrestling always has its own logic. I mean, if you question wrestlers from other companies showing up to beat up your workers, we’d have to question other things as well, such as why doesn’t everybody wait until the count of four to release if they still aren’t actually breaking a rule by doing so, or why Al Snow seemed to be the only wrestler in history who would slide down on the mat to prevent somebody from using an Irish Whip to set him up for an attack. :-p
Hmmmm, Sun’s definitely not on the roster, but that doesn’t mean that someone in BRA didn’t get a heads up that Sun would be ‘visiting.’ Or, just chalk it up to ECW invading WWF.
btw, that bit about Al Snow is gold. I remember he’d use that to not get thrown into the turnbuckles. XD
So maybe Yvonne knew about The Syndicate betrayal before hand and sent Sun to protect Sabrina against them. This could be a way for Yvonne to get Sabrina into DI once she returns.
Yvonne knew ahead of time? An interesting thought…
Sun, but how is that possible given she’s half way around the world ? 🙁
I’m going to give you a spoiler here…she took a plane. XD Remember that Sabrina’s basically over a half a day ahead. I know it stinks having to do the time zone conversions but it helped add to the mystery.
I was right! No wonder Albone didn’t post a comment on my comment!
🙂
It was very hard to restrain myself.
A number of people predicted it including me, but that didn’t make it any less awesome. 🙂
Part of me was still hoping for Robocop.
Dude, NEXT update. XD
Take a bow!
YAY!
Sun displays one of her better qualities!
XD
…
I would still kick her butt X3
Man, Sammie vs Sun would be epic. O_o
But Sun is loyal to a fault too.
YES! DRAGON! DRAGON! DRAGON! DRAGON!
Oh my goodness…she’s not even close to being done.
I knew it… Reverse button!
Hit Reverse before it gets worse!
*does a sabu/rvd point to the sky/myself* wooo im good.. well 30% good yay!!! For those who don’t know what “cc’d” means it stands for crowd control. Its a mmo video game term for like spells and abilities that take the target out of the fight for a set amount of time. IE A stunning attack (star wars had a groin shot, WoW had a polymorph, so on so, ect ect). She saids it to Aggro Beast because aggro is another mmo term.. aggro = threat (if you attack an enemy you get its aggro)
Gosh I’m such a Luddite. I thought the cc’d meant carbon copied. I know. That’s so last century. But hey I learned something so it’s all good.
*snerk*
*Pouts
*hugs*
Ignore the meenie!
*facepalm*
You’re good, Champ. I think it reads well both ways. I mean, I wasn’t for sure that anyone would know what Aggro was in the first place. 😛 But Drew’s all over the explanation so…we’re all good.
Called it! Booyah! Sun’s back and already taking names 😀
You DID call it. Out of curiosity, how certain were you?
Sun’s looking to make an impression, mist and feet her means.
Dayam. Where’s my tardis. i’m going to need to replay this a few times. Great art. I feel that punch.
Ironically, I’ve never seen Dr. What, er, Dr. Who, so I barely know what the Tardis is. XD
And thanks!!!
(Sun)
Albone mistake
Timeline and base reality..
Defend yourself Albone…
Chapter 5 pages 3-12 what is that date and time?
now Chapter 5 19 what is that date and time?
EVIL M.G.C.
THANK YOU ALBONE…
(Evil aura glows) for this page…
Latindragon..
there’s a great fanfic chapter for you…
(EVil grin)
The chat with Sabrina and sun was an unspecified “morning” time in Tokyo. The BRA/MWA show is an unspecified “evening” time in Tokyo. Flight time from Chicago to Tokyo is about 12 hours. It’s a tight fit, but doable.
sorry Callie..
unspecified is unacceptable..
but better think..
Chicago- Tokyo..
there must be stop to refuel..
remember.. our country to chicago takes 15hours..
also prep time..
Dude, it’s fiction.
I hate to break this to you, but each episode of 24 isn’t really an Hour Long either.
Let it go.
Sorry Samatha,,
if it’s fiction.. Sabrina is supergirl, and Chloe is ‘Emma Frost’ Katherine Smith is ‘Powergirl’, Jennifer Needles is ‘Phoenix’
but no… this is rivalangels..
Rivalangels timeline is good at previous chapters.. but her if Sun goes to Tokyo.. there must be reason and how.. unless you saying teleportation..
and I don’t accept answer because she is a ninja..
even Naruto need days for him to reach a destination..
“unspecified is unacceptable”
Seriously? You find it “unacceptable” not to be informed as to the exact time an event in the story is happening, when that particular time is of no import to the story?
“Chicago- Tokyo..
there must be stop to refuel..”
The flight distance from Chicago to Tokyo is 6310 miles. A 40-year old 747-200B can go about 1000 miles further than that at maximum takeoff weight.
A check on Orbitz confirms that gate-to-gate, commercial flights from Chicago to Tokyo now take about 13 hours, (they used to take less, but airlines are more thrifty about fuel usage these days). If the call happened at 6am, and the match with me ended at 9:30pm, that’s just enough time for it to happen.
and honestly, no one but you cares.
I *just* checked current travel times and it looks like 13 hours, 15 minutes from Chicago to Tokyo. But I don’t understand where your confusion is. If we saw Sun’s match Monday night and it was the morning for Sabrina, where does it not match up for you? Again, you’ll have to wait til Chapter 6 for some more details but you do you remember why Sun ended her phone call with Sabrina? Might be a clue there.
here albone..
13hours of flight..
let say.. Sun’s match ended at 8:30pm (chicago time)..
(okay Sun’s travel from Angel dome to airport) using chopper.. then Sun quickly rides Yvonne private plane… departure at 9pm
Sabrina’s match that night.. is also at 7:30pm or let say 8pm
still Sun can’t beat that clock..
It’s 13 hours for a commercial flight (I mean, can you really see Sun flying commercial, not-first-class for something for Yvonne?), but I’ll give you ONE teeny tiny spoiler and that is Sun leaves one hour after her match. More in Chapter 6 and honestly by that time, you’ll probably have forgotten all about it. XD
Like I said before….
I think that Yvonne knew about The Syndicate betrayal of Damage Inc’s agreement on not harming but protecting Sabrina before hand. So Yvonne sent Sun to Japan to make here that her hunch was correct, which it was. So Sun attacked Kinushi to fake play as her and protect Sabrina against them. So that way Yvonne would try to have Sabrina heel and join Damage Inc once she returns.
Sunnnnnn!!!! Didn’t see that one coming. Awesome surprise. To everyone complaining about the timeline, get over it. lol
XD Glad you enjoyed the surprise!
BTW..
Monday Night Meltdown shows on Monday..
how about BRA?
what day it’s shows?
I could tell it was Sun by the way the eyes were drawn and being familiar with that character for whom I love 🙂
I’m glad you noticed. XD I didn’t know if I was tipping my hand by having that big closeup panel of her eyes and then having her eyes closed in the border to the right. lol
well maybe if mistface could tank better and hold agro, then gut punch wouldn;t need to worry about CC and agroing Brina after the Sun add. fortunately for brina, Sun’s assasinate procced a stun so she wouldn’t have to worry about getting agro herself from gutpunch.
Syndicate clearly had their rogue disconnect before the Brina boss fight and Sun snuck into the queue without them noticing and now a TPW is imminent. <nods>
Check please!
Bravo, my friend. LOL
*slow clap*
Well played. Well played.
(Must hide the fact I cheered and smiled with only a single word!)
No need to hide it. Proudly display that cheering smile. XD
I want to LOVE this panel, Albone. It’s a great payoff. The visual is great and I love seeing Ultra Dragon back in action. Everything makes sense, but it’s the mask that is throwing me off, though.
A) I’m not certain how she can pull down the eyehole in the mask and mist Kasumi. It makes more sense that she took the mask off before misting, but her hands seem to indicate a different motion.
B) The color is wrong. Last comic (“Eyes upfront airhead), the mask was black. On the floor in the third panel, it’s red.
Hate to bring it up, but it’s so good that tiny details like this are bothersome. (Hoping that the VI isn’t showing “Shorts” issues as well).
Thank you for a great comic.
Eep, I should’ve seen the color on that. 😛 I will fix that up when I get home. But, I’m confident in telling you that the mask would be flexible enough for Sun to pull it down past her chin. At least, all of the ninja masks that I’ve had did. Seriously.
For Sun’s shorts, the difference between the last panel on this page and the first panel of the next update is when they’re being taken care of. I freely admit that I went the super-hero, clothes change on that one. That is, you won’t see her rolling them down or anything.
And thanks for pointing that out!
to fool your enimies you must frist fool your friends aggro you have just been part of a great decption
Sun is a trickly little dragon ninja, isn’t she?
LOL, RE: The Timeline
This all gets spelled out at the beginning of Chapter 6, but since that’s not going to post until January 2nd, let me breakdown a little bit of what’s going on.
Last week, a couple of readers actually figured out what was going on and even posted about it. O_o While it’s true that the caption boxes in this chapter only said ‘Earlier,’ the time stamps on Sun and Sabrina’s phones, plus the time zone difference are the actual markers for when all that took place.
As to HOW Sun knew to be there when she was will have to wait for the start of Chapter 6, but those that noticed why Sun ended the call with Sabrina will have an inside track. 😉
close but no cigar..
‘Earlier’
is it? tuesday (Japan), Monday (Chicago)
need more defense on that.. hehehe
Sun reason being japan will be soon.. right now.. timeline.. how did you write it to be timing..
‘Earlier’ is fine. You had the times on their iPhones to help you out. 😉
MGC, I say this in all earnestness… please, just stop. The timing was a close call, everyone acknowledges it. It doesn’t have to exactly conform to the real world, and this is a case where artistic license is quite acceptable. Regardless, the fact is that Sun did get there in time because it works for the plot. So I ask, why are you being so pedantic about it?
Does anyone else enjoy the irony of them getting Ninja’d by “Kunoichi”?
I hope I didn’t overdo it with all that. After writing this chapter, I started seeing clues everywhere! 😛 Including having a closeup panel of Sun’s eyes, and then to the right of it in the border is Sun with her eyes shut. Or Sabrina’s surprise. The hardest bit was that she wasn’t scared but trying not to show she wasn’t not-scared.
Yaaaay you brought out the magic of the Mist! Nice =D Go Sun, go!
I thought you might like to see her again, mist and all. lol
Why did I have the felling it was her on friday?
Your ninja senses are keen?
On a related note, ‘Elite’ maintain their record of being largely useless XP
Most Ineffective Stable Evah!
Hmpfh!
I know if you were there, you’d give them an earful. Say, do you think Sun will have an opinion on that?
She better!
Imma Text some notes!
The only way I get this is that either:
A) Sun just took a trip to visit and found out backstage about the betrayal.
B) Sun found out that Yvonne was dropping her protection on Sabrina and figured she’d better go over and cover her friends back side.
C) We’re in Bizarroworld.
Maybe it’s one of them? To be explained in Chapter 6. 😉
Given Katsumi’s apparent tendency to monologue, I’m guessing she tendered her resignation to Yvonne about the time Sabrina was on the phone with Sun, hence Yvonne’s interruption of the phone call.
This is interesting. 😉
Go Sabby and Sun!
