Chapter 6-Page-25-Betrayal!
Mar01
Cocoa feels the same way about Sun as Sun does about Cocoa, but Cocoa’s been a little better at hiding than Sun. Might this shine a light on Cocoa’s side of the story as to why she got banished from wrestling in Brazil? Would it be stretching it if Sun said, ‘told you so?’
Voting Incentive!
Can Sabrina recover from this betrayal? Vote to see what’s coming up on Monday!
Well, not like we couldn’t see it coming. And since Sun ain’t gonna be around for the save, this’ll be a tough one for Brina! I take back what I requested for her to come to America.
Don’t listen to him. Bring Rococo to RA!!! She could EASILY become the HEEL Del Rio of RA!!!
Sun’s *probably* not around for the save. XD And don’t forget about Elite! No?
I saw this as a possibility.
“The Sun ain’t gonna shine anymore…”
Definitely dark skies on the horizon.
Saw it coming a mile away. Now all we need is for Kasumi and Aggro Beast to jump in on Cocoa’s side and I’ll have been right.
Still wish Sabrina would keep the attire Cocoa picked out for her, though. She looked good in that.
I’ve heard a lot of compliments for Sabrina’s Cocoa-picked outfit both here and in-person.
Now I think Sabrina may be starting to understand where Sun was coming from.
That sort of understanding comes with a painful price, like now. 😛
Low-life? Hoodrat? Whoa – snobby much?
Someone’s jellin’ big time.
Also – Brina’s leg is see-through in Panel #1. That’s a bit spooky.
thanks for the art-weirdness. Fixed that up. 😛
I’m glad you remembered Cocoa’s fancy tastes. 😉
why am I not surprised? so we’re gonna have Sun be all “I told you so” *sighs*
I’ll slap her upside the head if she does.
Friends don’t say “I told you so”.
That’s one MORE thing I hate about this!
If you’ll excuse me I’ll be fucking concussing myself to the point of death banging my head against the nearest solid surface.
This is the first time I’ve ever absolutely HATED this webcomic.
…maybe try decaf?
Just where did that Lil Ninja get to anyways?
Back meet knife, knife meet back. Were gonna be here for a while.
At least another update. 😉
Wow!!! Cocoa has got one big mean girl streak in her! Big, gorgeous, ruthless, and she is so into wrestling…fascinating! A three way beat down ….ugh! Poor Sabrina. But Sun did try to warn her…
HA! Glad you haven’t lost your love for Cocoa, even if she’s behaving badly. XD See, Sabrina’s in trouble because she’s only being jumped by one person. Throw two more into the mix and she’ll stomp a mudhole in them, but until then… lol
ROCOCO is the Heel Del Rio baby, she should be in RA and soon!!!
LOL! Female Pro Wrestling + Girls Behaving Badly…they definately go together well.
I actually sold a box set of Rival Angels to a mother in Pittsburgh based on that very premise!
Wow…looks like Sun was right all along. 🙁
Yet, I don’t get why Cocoa did this now instead of taken Sabrina’s departure with some class and dignity ? 🙁
Cocoa’s just making the situation worse and she may not have a chance to explain her side of the story before all is said and done. 🙁
Cocoa IS making things worse. Part of it is that she’s hurt, but another part…well, you’ll have to see what’s coming up.
OH MY GAWD! This is the Ronko Ginsu Knive Set of pro wrestling…”Wait! There’s More!” I love! Just how low will this betrayal sink to?! Superb!
I think you’re going to love Monday’s update then. XD
*sigh* I guess I’ll just watch how things play out from here… -_-
I forgot to mention that Lora and I have been talking about doing a Cocoa’s origin side comic, but I thought you might dig that.
That would be awesome. I don’t know WHY I like the character so much. It almost annoys me that I do! Haha!
We like who we like, nothing wrong with that. I think I can speak for Lora that she’s delighted that you do. Be sure to check out the mini-interview I did with her, posting on Monday about Cocoa.
Having ranted myself out by now, I’ll say this: it was easy to like her. She was nice to pretty much everybody, wily in the ring as well as being a talented technical wrestler regardless of what Sun might say, fun to be around, not an airhead like Brooke (sorry Trevor, but it’s the truth), not needlessly cruel like Krystin (the worst thing she’d ever done prior to this was tell Dragon Fire to get lost), she was entertaining, etc.
As for catching Ian on the rebound, I could forgive her for that, because if I were Ian I sure wouldn’t mind. Sometimes you can even end up with somebody good on the rebound.
Now, however, that’s all gonna change.
I’ve been trying to think of something to compare the heel turn to, and I think I’ve got it now.
The Star Wars expanded universe of novels, comic books, and video games has been mentioned here before, when Albone mentioned Luke falling to the dark side in “Dark Empire”. The EU as it’s known (not to be confused with the European Union), has some very good stories (usually written by Timothy Zahn, Aaron Allston, Michael Reaves, and others), some very bad stories (written by Kevin J. Anderson, Tom Veitch, Karen Traviss, and others), and some that are all right (most of Michael A. Stackpole’s stuff).
One of the very WORST Star Wars EU stories ever written–not just my opinion, but the opinion of the majority of fans–was the “Legacy of the Force” series. It was nine books long, written by Allston, Traviss, and Troy Denning, with each author writing three books each.
Aaron Allston is one of my favourite writers, but not even his involvement could save this series. And now I’ll tell you what was wrong with it and what that has to do with Rival Angels.
In the EU, Han Solo got married to Leia, and they had three children. All three children were Force-sensitive, meaning that they could be Jedi if they wanted to be. So they all trained as Jedi and, as time passed in the EU, they grew up.
One of Han’s two sons was named Jacen. Jacen was a pretty cool guy. He was good with a lightsaber, sure, but on top of that he was always trying to figure out how the Force worked and other mysteries of the universe, he was merciful, he was patient, and I could go on but the point is that Jacen was the kind of guy who you could always count on to do the right thing and not be a dick.
There was a war. Jacen got captured, got tortured, escaped with his sanity intact, and actually wound up being the biggest hero of all after the war ended.
And it was around that time that somebody had the bright idea to make him evil. Like Anakin Skywalker, he was going to become a Sith.
Why did he become a Sith? It was really stupid. It was because he got the idea that the only way he could keep the galaxy safe was if he learned Sith powers. There was never any good reason given as to why he thought Sith powers and ONLY Sith powers could save the galaxy.
So he agreed to do whatever this other Sith told him in order to learn how to be a Sith himself. Kill Luke’s wife? He was happy to. Torture Luke’s thirteen-year-old son? He was happy to do that too. Try to kill his parents? Sure, why not? Attack Kashyyyk with an enormous fleet and try to kill every single Wookiee on the planet, as well as burning down the trees that were sacred to the Wookiees? Yeah, that seemed like a good idea to him.
Jacen went from being a kind-hearted hero to a ruthless monster. Fans called the evil Jacen “JINO”, standing for Jacen In Name Only, because there was absolutely no way they could believe that this was the same character.
Jacen the Sith, or Darth Caedus as he began calling himself, lost a lot of fights, and finally got killed by his sister because there was no chance of ever redeeming him.
I hated it.
All that the story accomplished was to take a great character, remove all the qualities that made him great, have him kill a number of other great characters, have him regularly outmatched and embarrassed in one-on-one combat, and finally killing him off.
That’s what I’m worried will happen to Cocoa. All of the qualities she had that you and I liked will disappear, or it’ll be revealed that they were never there in the first place, that she was just a phony the whole time. She’s going to do a lot of things that will make Sabrina and Sun want to kill her–Sabrina’s already pouring gasoline on the fire by telling Cocoa that Sun is better than her, which Cocoa is probably going to take as “I’d choose Sun over you even if you weren’t beating me up right now! It wouldn’t even be a tough decision!” Sabrina and/or Sun will probably end up beating her, just like they’ve beaten almost everybody else. She’s going to slink away with her tail between her legs, like Chloe did. And, since nobody in this comic has ever turned face, I somehow doubt that Cocoa is going to be the first by seeing the error of her ways, apologizing to Sabrina, and going back to her old self.
I could tell myself “Hey, maybe none of that will happen,” but that was what I was telling myself about the Cocoa heel turn in the first place, and I just set myself up for disappointment.
Personally, I HATED the Yuzong Vong, or whatever they were called. 😛
Since Chapter 2, I’ve tried to show the good AND bad of Cocoa and this chapter I’ve try to parallel Cocoa’s emotions with Sun’s. Cocoa’s taken it farther, obviously, but there’s still more to go next week with her motivation and that’s all of the future of Cocoa that I can really say.
Somebody can get to pretty much any frame of mind if properly jarred, as long as it’s convincingly and thoroughly explained.
For Cocoa, I’ve always been ambivalent to the character but what I see is someone who is mostly nice, but is first and foremost concerned with being the most important person in the room.Cocoa’s style uses submissions that give her plenty of opportunity to be all smiling and laughing while her opponent has no real face-time (or is screaming and writhing in pain as juxtaposition). Cocoa will use anything she can to get the win, because ultimately the win is definitely that extra thing that keeps you in the spotlight. Cocoa has a nice body, of course, wears clothing that accents it; that’s not for her opponents, that’s for the predominantly male fan base watching on TV and sitting in the stands. She knows what she has and so she flaunts it, she wants people to take notice.
Cocoa’s going after Ian could be because she liked him or it might simply be a matter of “somebody likes this girl and not me so I have to change that.” Since notice that Cocoa didn’t make her move until after what happened with Ian and Sabrina. Cocoa had months to try something while Ian was playing the shy puppy dog just trying to get Sabrina to see him as an eligible male, but she didn’t make a move until after Ian kissed Sabrina. It may not have even been because of Sabrina rejecting Ian, but that Ian’s feelings were finally expressed as something more than a passing attraction that Cocoa felt that now it was significant enough to step in and take something she might not have even wanted otherwise. Even if she didn’t overtly process it as jealousy, that’s how it can appear.
Then there’s the way that she tried to immediately make friends with Sabrina after their match. Cocoa could see a few things. First, that Sabrina is skilled, regardless of whether she’s there as the cute popular blond, and somebody like that is not someone you want to get on their bad side. Second, Sabrina is the kind of girl that just invites popularity onto herself, and cheating her might cause you to take a hit to your own popularity… the best way to save face in the eyes of the public would be to try to patch things up. Third, when Sabrina got jumped by Black Widow that first time after her debut match with Neko Suki, who saved her? Cocoa? Nope, Yoshi. Cocoa only made the save for Sabrina when she was actually in a position to suffer a hit to her own image by walking away from this person she just tried to make nice with. Cocoa came back in for the save, but that was as much for Cocoa’s benefit as her own.
Many people know someone who’s like this. People who aren’t necessarily bad, all things considered, but clearly enjoy being at the top of their social hierarchy. As long as Sabrina gave her attention and props, and deference to Cocoa, Cocoa had no reason to be anything other than wonderful to her.
But we see in panel 3. “Because you chose that little hoodrat over me!” That’s what Cocoa assumes. Sabrina’s stint in MWA:BRA was supposed to be temporary. She was suddenly offered a contract at the last minute. Takashi could have offered her a contract at any time in the past few months, and said “Think about it” but instead she’s only getting this offer now.
There are other reasons besides Sun vs Cocoa that Sabrina may have wanted to go to Rival Angels. They have an established title structure of more than one belt. You’re still fighting for your spot, but there are more than maybe 2 matches a week. You can still try to be a media darling or a pin-up girl if you want to, but you have a better wrestling schedule ahead of you and for somebody who primarily sees themselves as a combat athlete, that will be appealing. After her fight with Sun, those two might be on the outs for months. They might never really make an overt attempt to speak to each other again. Sabrina could still choose to go back to Rival Angels.
That’s the key.
Sun’s words were very hurtful, but effectively Sun is saying that Sabrina’s work priorities are in the wrong place. Sabrina appeared more interested in the modeling on the side, and maybe two bookings a month, rather than being the fiery young lion who wouldn’t feel fulfilled if she wasn’t wrestling somebody within a 5 day period. Sun was Sabrina’s friend for a long time and so being her friend she knew exactly the buttons to press to draw the most emotional blood. It’s that kind of vulnerability that you open yourself up to when you let somebody be that close to you. Sun didn’t need Sabrina to be around all the time, they could have talked over the phone or Facebook and been fine with that. They were already doing that. Sun was upset about what she saw as Sabrina’s change in professional priorities.
Cocoa, meanwhile, may have abandonment issues there that the writer can confirm or deny or just do a wink and “You’ll see” at but what’s undeniable is Cocoa’s personal jealousy. Sabrina chose Sun over Cocoa. But even if Sabrina chose her career over Cocoa, odds are Cocoa would still be upset and still take it personally. Cocoa wants Sabrina to stay for Cocoa, because Sabrina owes Cocoa for deigning to befriend her and doing the moral thing of helping her out from a post-match beatdown. That kind of selfishness, in an over the top environment such as wrestling, can easily lead to a heel turn with the right circumstances.
We only don’t see Sun’s actions as a heel turn because she was an unabashed heel to start with.
Rob does make a valid point, Boney. So far, there’s been plenty of heel turns and people being in actuality the scum of the Earth, but so far, there’s been few genuinely decent people and zero face turns. Trying to say something there, Chief? And I do want an answer, I do want to know what you have to say about that, because even though I love this comic, I, too, feel there needs to he more actually good people in this comic. I’ve yet to show it in my fics, but at least my personal favorite OC of mine isn’t a total bitch outside of the ring.
Sabrina and Sun have been very nice all along. And competitive, pro wrestling is what it is. Eventually, there can be only one winner. Actions, moves, holds, etc. that are used in the ring to win a match, look mean, but typically are done in the heat of competition. They make for high drama too.
‘Decent people’ is sort of subjective, isn’t it? Monica and Xtina are ‘decent people’ who don’t happen to like Sabrina or the Upstarts. I’d say that Victoria and Veronica are good people who just don’t see the Upstarts on their radar, but that doesn’t make them bad. Same goes for the Champ, the Catgirls and Shannon McCourt and that’s not counting Shamrox, Ricochet or Mia Psycho. I’m not sure where Kaci falls in there. XD
Heel turns, at the core I think are shortcuts. Even Cocoa’s heel turn is a shortcut. She’s trading in words for fists to get her point across, which you recall Sun didn’t do, but you could argue that Sun’s words were more hurtful. Face turns are harder because they *usually* require more work. By nature, being a face is harder than a heel. There hasn’t been a need for a character to make a face turn, but that doesn’t mean that it can’t happen in the future.
The fun thing with Sun and Sabrina is that they defy some expectations in that they probably shouldn’t be friends in the first place. One is a rule-abiding showboat, while the other never met a rule she didn’t break but despite their differences, they became fast friends and uncharacteristically for pro wrestling, very supportive of one another. Sun is a heel, but she loves her BFF who happens to be a face. Sabrina is a face who loves her BFF heel. It shouldn’t work because of the *usual* labels, but it does.
A face turn is harder because a heel can suddenly attack a heel and still be a heel. Heels aren’t sworn to never beat up someone the crowd doesn’t like. Look at Edge vs Randy Orton during their heel phases, or go back earlier to a match like Chris Jericho vs Alex Wright when both of them were heel champions. Who turned as a result of those matches? No one. And in the case of people like Orton or Wright, even being heels they rarely ever cheated against people, and Wright was cocky but he firmly believed that he could beat anybody in the ring so you didn’t see him doing run-ins left and right because that would have gone against his egoist philosophy.
You could also make mention of Tyson Tomko, who was in a random tag team match with Bobby Roode when Roode was doing his thing with constantly humiliating Ms. Brooks. Tomko was none too pleased about Roode’s actions and got in his face about it, in the ring, because they were jerk actions, but Tomko wasn’t not-a-heel because of that, he was a guy who just had some actual layers to his character and so there were things he did that were bad and things he did that weren’t bad.
I guess overall, “face” and “heel” still serve a purpose, but they aren’t easy catch-alls for someone’s entire personality. Nothing ostensibly keeps a face from acting badly or a heel from acting nice, those partly refer to their supposed popularity with the crowd and partly their propensity to rulebreaking, but even that can sometimes be too simple.
I much prefer to use D&D alignment charting for characters.
You fibbed to me! 🙁
*takes faithful pillow back*
I think Sabrina could use that pillow about now.
‘Brina is welcome to share…
…
*ahem*
…
*hide behind faithful pillow*
“We will travel together to this land… which we will call… This Land!”
“No! We will call it… your grave!”
“AAAARRRRRGGHHHH! Curse your unexpected yet inevitable betrayal!”
— Wash playing with plastic dinosaurs, ep of “Firefly”
Cocoa is worse than de Sade… Hell’s Belles never pretended to be Brina’s friend.
What about when Chloe approached Sabrina about joining Hell’s Belles?
Wash was awesome. I think Cocoa and Sabrina were friends, but obviously that’s over.
I didn’t see it coming. =(
SURPRISE!
I agree with Tarrasque that the short shorts attire she was wearing looked better than her workout pants.
Okay, the question remains that if Cocoa didn’t pay off the Syndicate, who did? One weird theory comes to mind… Cocoa did pay them off to attack Sabrina so she could then come in and make the ‘save’, making herself look awesome and cementing Sabrina’s loyalty. Sun’s arrival botched Cocoa’s big moment.
Or not, the Syndicate works for someone else and Cocoa is not so much manipulative as flipping out .
Or… Cocoa is an ALIEN FROM ZNARGTRON WHO WANTS TO TURN SABRINA INTO A SEA CUCUMBER!
I think I need to take my meds now.
Answers are coming…don’t write off that Sea Cucumber theory yet…
Actually, I too agree, that the short shorts on ‘Brina or blue ‘kini bottoms look soooo much better.
Its a dream sequence… sabrina will wake up on some park bench maine ” so that s what my life would have looked like if I had become a wrestler!” lol I kinda hope it is a dream that she wakes up from… obviously we saw it coming.. her stress and arguing with Sun would easily cause a nightmare like this. Though I can attest to the Brazilian temper, I play a game called league of legends, and its super competitive, a lot of Brazilians play and lord if they get pissed off they’ll just stand there purposely losing the game.. even if it wasn’t their team that upset them, its intense.
Cocoa’s Brazilian temper is getting to epic levels here. Sabrina is wishing this is a dream.
what is Sabrina decided to stay in BRA
this wouldn’t happen right Albone?
Interesting that you think that Sabrina could stay in BRA after everything that’s happened. But yes, there is a chance that Sabrina stays in BRA/Tokyo.
NO WAY MAN!!! Sabrina goes back to RA, Rococo follows to RA (with BRA back up), & invades RA!!!
Don’t listen to MGC, remember he was a Sabrina hater and punished her A LOT in his fanfics, making you all so P.O.ed!!! REMEMBER!!! lol
is this a no contest? or the match is still the way?
And the Sting award for “Most Gullible Babyface” goes to….
LOL
Don’t rub it in.
Just…please don’t.
This comic’s made my Friday shitty enough as is without seeing people gloat about it.
Who’s gloating?
But to give a bit of fairness to Sabrina, she hasn’t seen everything we the readers have, Cocoa’s hateful glares at Sun, her backstage incident after the Syndicate’s failed ambush.
Still. I’d never have fallen for it. (Brenda might).
Hmmm No not with Cocoa; not yet anyway. We’d hardly be that tight yet. But there are a few on the RA roster who are “inside” enough.
O.o
I <3 Sting. (and Steamboat)
I say Rey, Steamboat, Santana, Cena, or Sting!!!
judging by what this “completely unexpected out of left feel ambush” is going by i believe it was Brina’s going back to RA that tipped Cocoa over the edge here. before then yeah Sun was there but Cocoa knew it would just be for a visit so she could hide her emotions until Sun left and then operation steal BFF could continue as planned. but when brina decided to go back to RA in Cocoa’s mind that meant she preferred Sun to herself and so now she’s letting it all out.
also Sun-like is the idea that Cocoa, like sun in the aprtment, is very upset that her only real friend she had in BRA (she didn;t seem to be friendly twoards many folk til she and brina connected) is about to leave her high and dry.
and to show Cocoa is also smart, she attacks brina while the match is still going on so they can;t get DQd (cause it’s her own partner attacking her) for it or have the obligatory swarm of refs come in to break it up- cause the match is still going on. So either Cocoa lays brina out and leaves the scraps for the syndicate to clean up to prove the old “person leaving a fed goes out on their back”. or Cocoa does her beatdown and leaves, but brina uses her expert 1 vs 3 battling techniques to have been doing a rope a dope and rallies to defeat the syndicate on her own.
then ten minutes later after brina’s carried out to the back Elite shows up to not save the day. “oh yeah sorry brina we weren’t actually watching your match cause the football game was on the telly and Manchester was winning.”
So…you don’t expect an Elite save? XD
Not uncommon, I find I can’t really comment directly…maybe next week. 😉
SON OF A FUCKRAT!
And the explanation doesn’t even make any sense!
Elaboration: it doesn’t make any sense because no real person would commit assault and battery over “You like her better than you like me!”
Now I know what you’re going to say, that HHH beat up Randy Orton because he was jealous of Orton winning the title before he did, and stuff like that.
Here’s the thing: pro wrestlers in WWE do not act like real people.
The characters in this story, up until now, have been acting like real people.
But now Cocoa is turning on Sabrina for the flimsiest of goddamn reasons because we just gotta have a SHOCKING SWERVE don’t we? I mean, heaven forbid Cocoa have an actual, believable reason for doing a complete 180 in how she treated Sabrina, one where we could look at it and go “Yeah, if I were in her position I’d be tempted to do the same thing, even if I’d resist that temptation.”
This makes sense and is believable if Cocoa felt more than friendship toward Brina. She wouldn’t necessarily even know it to the extent that she could express it (to us). It might have taken the new that Brina is leaving to twist her up enough to do this. And yes, I have seen real people flip like this and act this way a couple of times.
There might be other explanations but this makes the most sense to me.
And yes, I have seen real people flip like this and act this way a couple of times.
Violently?
Violently?
Don’t know about Brenda’s instances, but I can say yes to that, and not even with the context of a combat sport where violence is tolerated to justify the action.
People will, in a fit of rage, murder their loved ones. If you’re in a major city in the US, it’ll be all over the local news on a near-daily basis. An attack from behind during a wrestling match over perceived betrayal, from someone who apparently has a history of violent attacks, and has not (yet) suffered serious consequences for doing so, seems entirely logical to me.
well Cocoa still has to remain in BRA while Brina goes back to RA so maybe she figures without her one friend there to have her back she’s all on her own again after turning face because of Brina to begin with. but if she turns on brina then maybe atlas will back her since she turned on the woman who shot him down (getting payback by proxy) so cocoa gets more high profile action= more money.
brina’s leaving so cocoa also knows brina’s not going to be able to get back at her since she’s leaving. cocoa also knows if she tries this outside the ring- well she saw how that turned out back in south america (if sun’s story is true) but inside the ring? perfectly fine legally (as far as attacking brina goes anyway). Cocoa probably doesn;t feel she’s going to get in trouble for turning on someone’s who leaving anyway so time to make an “impact”
Not sure how ‘shocking’ this was, but I don’t mind telling you that Cocoa’s heel turn has been planned since fall of 2008 when Lora came up with her. In fact, I mentioned it on a podcast interview a year or two ago, but to be fair I think only MGC listened to that. 😛
Okay, I can promise that more of Cocoa’s motivation is forthcoming, but I can’t promise a detailed accounting. I can only hope that the groundwork is already there, and the upcoming info helps. I CAN tell you that a couple of readers are very close to the heart of the matter by their comments today.
People listen… ROCOCO IS A HEEL, JUST LIKE HOW SUN IS A HEEL!!! NUFF SAID!!! lol
Not surprised at all. Cocoa always seemed a bit… off, and her befriending Sabrina seemed to be QUITE planned out. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that it WAS Cocoa who bought off Sabrina’s “protectors” with the express purpose of making her look good when she came in to ‘save’ ‘Brina.
Hopefully, there’ll be a ray of Sunshine in Sabrina’s life VERY soon… Or, in a MASSIVE fit of irony, a save from Black Widow. Someone like Cocoa doesn’t deserve to be in the Industry; being clumsy enough to hospitalize someone in-ring isn’t great, but it happens. Hospitalizing someone OUTSIDE the ring, and then turning on your partner and effectively killing their career, that just shouldn’t be done, and Cocoa should be made to PAY for that.
Well, raise your hand if you didn’t see this comming. *Sees no hands up* What a surprise
*moves off to the side as I see Rob behind Donny*
Donny’s safe; I’ve finished with the “anger” stage by now, moved right past “bargaining” (because what good would it do?), and am now firmly entrenched in “depression”.
*scrolls up* Pvegeta was surprised. XD
Awesome art, boss. Each panel is spot on. 🙂
Thanks, Champ!
3 great panels! Love it, great action!! Till now Sabrina didn´t suffer a humiliating total defeat. If it happens this time she will surely return better, wiser & triumphant. Actually I expect Sabrina to beat Cocoa and the 2 others alone (she´s good fighting 3 others) and that someone else will be around to help her (Sun said she left, but maybe didn´t because she expected this). Yeah Sun will help Sabrina and they beat the hell out lovely Cocoa and the others :D!
Sabrina is hoping that Sun isn’t on the flight back to America…Glad you like today’s update!
Oh, yes she DID! Remember Kat Smith?
That’s what I thought of too!
Kat, Shamrox twice, Cocoa when they first met, and I think it was the first match she won in RA that had her only win via countout because her opponent was distracted down on the floor and she crawled back under the ropes.
I don’t know about humiliating, but she’s been totally defeated before at least a handful of times. Not counting developmental, where one wrestler whose name I forget kept on beating her.
If there’s anybody from the original Upstarts who would be accused of “never putting anybody over” if this were real life, fixed wrestling, it would be Sun. She lost the Rookie Rumble and, as far as we know, that’s it.
Danielle Perfection and Loretta were the ones using Sabrina as a punching bag in developmental. Hmmm, we should see about seeing more of them. And Susy Love was Sabrina’s first official RA victory. XD Excellent memory!
Cocoa has a point: she helped Sabrina against The Black Widow ;-).
Yeah, out of the goodness of her heart apparently. She also helped Sabrina train for her match against Widow, along with Kaci and Shamrox. And Sabrina did show appreciation for it, and did a lot to help Cocoa too.
Which is why it makes zero sense for Cocoa to turn on her. Somebody who cared about Sabrina enough to save her ass and be concerned for her during the match that followed (Cocoa was watching with Elite, looking worried when Widow was in control and cheering when Sabrina was doing well) would not go “You’re leaving the country, just like I always knew you were going to from day one? COCOA MAD! COCOA SMASH!”
A normal person would wrestle the match, hug ‘Brina, and say goodbye to her. Or maybe ask ‘Brina to put in a good word for her at RA, so she could keep wrestling alongside her and hanging out with her. Or, if she was really mad about Sun trying to turn ‘Brina against her, she would go to Sun and say “Hey, I hear you’ve been telling Sabrina I’m this untrustworthy, backstabbing bitch. You wanna say that to my face?” Or, if she was really mad, she would be beating Sun up.
But no. Instead she does this.
Cocoa was an awesome character. Now she’s just gonna be another evil psycho punching bag for Sabrina.
Wait, no, not for Sabrina, but for Sun. We’re probably going to get a Sun run-in to save Sabrina from Cocoa, because Sun not only has to be right, she also has to save the day. And then she will say, in one form or another, that she told Sabrina so.
Great storyline!
Thanks! 🙂
Am I the only who thinks Black Widow might make the save here. As she now respects Sabrina?
I agree Black Widow respects Sabrina. I expect a save and it could also be by B.W.. Well let´s wait and see :).
That’s an interesting thing, too. And if BW turns face, she’ll be the first one who isn’t a pin-up girl in this strip!
In wrestling the saying that ‘never say never’ is NEVER more true. 😉
To Albone, you´re welcome :D!
The tables have turned! Kick her ass, Sabby!
Sabrina will be ok sun will make the save or yvonne’s girls will show up and show out. if not, me and my tag team partner will clear the ring of that trash.
Interesting article. I’m glad I took a break from League of Legends to read it. If you haven’t played LoL, you should give it a try 🙂
