Chapter 8-Page-14-Clearing The Air
Jun24
Brooke and Krystin seem like they’re finally on the same page with each other but they seem to have differing opinions on Sabrina’s return.
Voting Incentive!
Putting a bow on this scene between Krystin and Brooke…Vote to see what’s coming up on Wednesday!
“I attacked her at a wedding, just after I got finished attacking the bride, and as a result, she got shipped around the world to the crappiest, most exploitative wrestling organization Gabby could find, while I got stuck wrestling in matches befitting my record and ability level… I think she might be mad about it!”
“So what? Who cares? She’s not relevant, because she got shipped around the world for months.”
Brooke just gained a point or two with me, nearly bringing her up to the level of “dirt.” Based on previous characterization, I’d have never guessed her capable of such amazing depths reflection on and analysis of the feelings of others.
Krystin, on the other hand, is losing me. In a big way. I can’t understand her attitude. I could get it if she was all “we can’t let the business get in the way of our friendship.” I could also understand the opposite viewpoint, “business first, friends a distant second, if that.” But no. She’s got the patience of a saint for Brooke, because Brooke has proven herself
a valuable allya loyal frienda good listenerstable and reliablea pair of artificial knockers. Meanwhile, Sabrina has done absolutely nothing to earn this treatment, and just saved everyone’s bacon. I can only assume that Krystin is jealous of Sabrina’s initial push and early title opportunity, and/or sees Sabrina as a threat. Even then, though, why be cool to the person who just tried to cheat in a title win over her a few minutes ago, but nasty to the person who might be a threat in a few weeks? Madness.Welcome to the world of Soap Opera Wrestling. Stay tune next week when things really get nuts.
It could/may go to Krystin likes Brooke more than Sabrina, even if the circumstances aren’t ‘fair.’
W-w-wait. “…only had to be off TV for a while” ? Brooke thinking she got the lighter punishment? What just happened? Is this the alt-universe Rival Angels? What’s going on? *frets*
While some considered it a punishment for Sabrina think about it, she got a chance to get away from all the drama and had a chance to learn to fight with professional people that were not after her.
Sabrina also got to learn some new moves, some new techniques and grow a little more. Of course Brooke realizes that was at the cost of being away from her home, family and friends.
Yeah, Krystin just lost me. Her logic is terribly flawed. Brooke tries to steal her title and that’s okay, but Sabrina comes from out of fucking nowhere and saves her ass from getting beaten up even worse and not so much as a ‘Thank God’? Where the hell is your mind, woman?
Could it be that Krystin see’s Sabrina as the bigger threat? Brooke she can defeat even without using her feet. Sabrina on the other hand might be better than her.
This is an interesting thought. It could be just that Krystin likes Brooke better than Sabrina. Forgive this, but not that?
Wow, Brooke coming to a revelation and her and Krystin come to an understanding, Maybe there are a few good things to come out of tonight’s match. 🙂
Still, while Brooke has her grown up moment, Krystin seems more like a selfish child. I can understand her whole “business before friendship” thing, but the way she said it set me off. 🙁
Maybe she’s still mad about her fight tonight nd its outcome or maybe she’s jealous, just a bit, with how Sabrina rose to the top, while she worked her way up.
Still, Krystin is suppose to be the level headed one of the four and she doesn’t even know the FULL story of the wedding battle. 🙁
I doubt anyone would ever get the right story of the Wedding Rumble. Different people saw different things, then as time passes the story would get wilder and wilder.
I don’t mind saying that this is a turning point for a lot of the characters, not just the Upstart girls, for good or for worse.
Well Albone you requested it so I got it posted The Great Cat Fight. Look in Forum, Creative Works, Cat Fight. I took out all the side comments to make it easier to read but this is pretty much the raw fight and no I didn’t try to turn it into a story
WooHOO!!!
I read it and commented and appreciate it. Thanks Snowy. 🙂

So now you can draw it up and have it for the off days. LOL
yeah Krystin’s coming off a bit odd here. unless there’s been some very well buried super jealousy that’s been hidden away all this time”hey brina let me teach you a submission move!”- remember those days Krystin?
she’s not really making too much sense considering brina’s never actively gone against Krystin except for the into Upstarts 4 way way back at the dawn of the comic.
unless Krystin’s feeling her “most successful of the Upstarts cause i got a title” spot is in trouble when the “ultra-pushed” one is now back. but then again “hey you helped me against those whore brooke so we’re cool. Unlike that ultragirl who most certainly didn’t come out to help us against those whores in any way shape or form.” Or Krystin can play the alpha with Brooke around- possibly even Sun but knows Brina could beat her so she’s starting her own recruiting?
Krystin always thought that she should have gotten the initial push that Sabrina got. Remember the 4-way where she wanted to end Sabrina career. To her, this was her big moment (First title defense) and all everyone is going to be talking about is that “Sabrina’s back”! Definitely a bit of jealousy.
Notice that Sabrina never talked about Krystin while in Japan. They are probably more like friendly acquaintances, rather than friends. Krystin friend was Brooke, so she’s glad to pick it up again.
Krystin is finally stating to think long-term. She needs protection if you wanted to hold onto the title. Brooke and Amanda provide that. Now, if she’s worried about Sabrina, her next move SHOULD be to arrange a sparring session with Callie. She has no idea of how good Sabrina got in Japan. Callie is the one person in Rival Angel who could tell her without A) The viewpoint being totally biased and B) any designs on her TV belt. Now Krystin being smart enough to ask her and Callie being willing to tell her is a totally different story….
Callie does what she thinks is in her best interests. Kicking Brina’s butt? Sure that’s clear. But filling in Krystin? And with the truth at that?
Buy me a drink and you can tell me another one 😀
I don’t really see that I have any vested interest in Krystin vs Sabrina one way or another. I’ll offer my take on things down in the thread.
i dunno, krystin deciding to help Brina get better (and thus more of a threat to her down the road) by showing her some submission style wrestling says more than “friendly acquaintance” at that time. maybe now she’s regretting it since she’s the “star” since she’s got the belt now.
i think the actual winning of the title would have been a much bigger moment for her “i finally did it mom and dad!” than a title defense against her only real friend (even if being bitchy the last few months) that she didn;t really want to hurt base one her commentary during the match.
or maybe she’s upset that none of the main factions in RA came begging her to join like she knows Belles did with brooke and D’Inc has been doing with Brina so she’s upet about that too.
You make some good points. That last one would weight especially with Krystin. I think she would get validation by being approached, even if she didn’t join.
You have a remarkably clear grasp of the situation.
Entirely unsurprising for a fan of mine.
As for whether I’d help Krystin…well that all depends. I could be persuaded.
Nice page. Glad to see Brooke and Krystin back on the same page. Both of them are going to need each other’s support.
Brooke, though, is right to be worried. Sabrina does want to pound her into the canvas. But I think that she has another more pressing concern at this moment.
Sun.
Sun is in a bad mood, and Brooke is finally allowed to wrestle on TV. Any bookmaker would look at this PPV and see…
A) Sun beating the former TV Champ
B) Sun and Amanda mixing it up
C) Sun telling off all of the Upstarts at the end
Brooke versus Sun is a perfect way to promote Sun as the number 1 contender to Krystin’s belt. Do this on the next TV show and add in Sabrina return (Give her Needles or Pagan to restart the Sabrina/Belle feud) and it’s rating heaven.
Sun never had a chance to tell/show Brooke what she really thinks about the whole fiasco. Brooke probably should fear that lesson.
Good stuff here. I think Gabrielle has some big decisions to make concerning the next card. 😉
“You stuck around?” Well that’s an interesting spin. It’s true. But it says so little. Maybe that’s because Brooke did so little other than watch.
It could have been a chance for Miss Silicon to turn heel, like my girl Mickie James did, when she “stuck around” while Velvet got pounded. But does Brooke have it in her to turn heel and be a serious threat?
“turn heel”? has there been a time when Brooke wasn’t a heel?
One could be kind and say she has aspirations. But does she have that mean streak, the willingness to do whatever, the steel? No, not in my book.
Lets not forget that even if she did turn heel, Brooke would be about as threatening as Harvey Whippleman. Let us not forget what she had to do to FINALLY get out of developmental after being stuck there for 14 months. Then from there, her win/loss record was abysmal unless she was able to get outside interference from Amanda, and she only got the push to keep her from being stuck in dark matches because she had Michael wrapped around her little finger while her hand was wrapped around his….. anyways, you see my point. Face, Heel, or Tweener, Brooke’s no one to worry about
Yeah, Brooke succeeded in absentia but she did have an opportunity to rabbit.
Hehehe, Krystin love is falling faster than shares of Facebook. Looks like she’s got “Gold Fever”. She’s got a belt, and now she thinks she’s the most impressive thing to hit wrestling since the Firebird Splash. That’s not only going to screw with her social life outside the ring, but also start to corrode her performance inside the ring, mostly when she’s having trouble beating an opponent she feels is beneath her. “I’m the champ, why haven’t I put this jobber away?” That leads to frustration, and a frustrated wrestler is a sloppy wrestler
So, here’s how I see it. Krystin is very not-happy about two things: The injury to her hand, and her successful title defence having gone all awry, and she is having trouble seeing past those two things just at the moment.
Whatever Brooke’s faults, (and she has many, many faults…) she isn’t responsible for either of those, so with her showing some reasonable facsimile of contrition, Krystin is inclined to cut her a bit of slack at the moment. Additionally, note that Brooke’s more egregious idiocies have landed upon Sabrina (or herself), whereas she’s done little directly to Krystin.
By contrast, Sabrina was a very big part of the transformation of the “Krystin’s successful title defence” scene into the “Oh look, Sabrina’s back” scene. And for the people saying Sabrina “saved” Krystin…how do you figure? Sabrina didn’t get anywhere near the ring until her hand was already injured, and I don’t recall her taking any shots afterward. Exactly who it was Sabrina saved is unclear to me, but expecting gratitude from Krystin right now seems wholly unwarranted.
Brooke’s got a buddy in Krysten. But will their alliance bad news for Sabby (and possibly Sun)?
I’d buy the “Krystin just likes Brooke better”/”Brooke hasn’t done anything to Krystin” thing more if Brooke had any redeeming qualities that didn’t double as flotation devices. She’s always been defined by being willing, even eager, to screw anything and anyone in any sense necessary to get what she wants, and has never given any indication of giving a crap about anyone else. I could see poor Amanda buying her line of BS, but Krystin?
It only makes sense if Krystin’s willingness to put up with a person’s BS is inversely proportional to how much of a threat she sees them as. Brooke just tried to steal the title with a king-sized stable doing ringside assist duty, sure, but now she’s been kicked out of Hell’s Belles and is back to padding the bottom of the roster, while Sabrina’s a legitimate threat.
That, or Krystin has a thing for falsies.
Errrrr all the implants are denser than water, so she’s a fail even in the aquatics LoL
She’ll still float. Just upside down…
So… Ballast, then? 😀
It’s how she moves as fast as she does.
Kenny knows the writing is on the wall when it comes to her relevance in this comic, much less Rival Angels. That’s bound to happen when the only title she’s supposed to contend for is won by back slide pin. It won’t be long until Ultraderp shows Krystin that all of her hard work trying to develop a personality while being a good hand is useless against the two-move wonder. A two move wonder with an excursion to Japan under her belt and managed not to learn a darn thing while there. That should hurt Kenny the most.
