Chapter 8-Page-15-Heavenly Comfort
Jun26
For what it’s worth, Krystin’s not unhappy. XD But does Krystin have a point or is she overreacting?

Heavily comfort..
lolz
is that they’re stable team..
Well maybe the three of them are a stable team, not so sure about the five of them.
Maybe unofficially?
Actually, now that I recall, Amanda and Krystin ran some minor interference for Krystin in her PPV match against Sara Valentine so you never know.
… Yeeeah, this page supports one of the two theories I mentioned about why Krystin puts up with Brooke. And apparently, Brooke is aware of this.
I just can’t believe that she is so insecure about Sabrina.
She does seem a little panicy, doesn’t she?
I was actually talking about her enjoying Brooke’s modifications, but yeah, she does seem to really fear Sabrina.
*snickers*
Girl gets all puffed up over a minor belt. I think it’s time I had a lil talk with her. She doesn’t have a point; she’s so far off base you’d think was was playing center field.
It’s not her company nor her time. Wishing doesn’t make it so. It’s mine. And I’m not sharing! At most it was her moment.
But she is on the radar now. That’s a step in the right direction. I think she’ll see that, eventually, even if it takes my boot up aside her head.
Good, good. Get yourself nice and distracted…
Oh, I’ve plenty of boot left for you. Deary…
Unsurprising. Your feet are huge.
Do you think she is part of the “Me” Generation?
Heh, yeah, Krystin sort of left a lot of names out.
Not even Kenny believes her own hype. Especially when there’s a bigger title out there that a certain so-called “champion” has that is protected because:
1) Gabrielle Reni has taken it upon herself to push her pet project to the moon no matter what (just like if Dixie Carter pushed [REDACTED]).
2) Those slap and tickle fights get kind of boring without a few props to spice things up.
Not even the loaded cast gimmick anyone can see coming will be enough to stop the inevitability of Ultraderp’s escalator ride to the top. Unless Gabrielle’s devotion to her pet project (and real-life pet) is strong enough to override that inevitability.
But Sabrina’s winning the TV belt (to make up for that loss to Kat) while sending Kenny’s career to another dimension.
What bottle of cheap tequila did you fuel this fantasy with?
They give free shots when the train goes by!
This almost reminds of Velvet/Tessmacher of TNA. It’s like Velvet was the big fish of TNA until she was MISTAKENLY RELASED. Then TNA pushed Tessmacher as their #1 Knockout with her beating Gail. But then Dixie begged and pleaded Velvet to come back to TNA, which she did. Now Velvet got pushed back to her spot and Tessmacher is hardly used anymore.
But now it may look like Taryn Tarrell will be taking Velvet’s spot with a possibly ladder win over Gail at the next PPV & Velvet being a ghost after losing her title rematch with Mickie. But thats what I think anyway.
Moline said that “its her company now!” For that to happen, she needs the World Heavyweight Title! MOLINE VS RUA! lol WE NEED MORE RUA ON THIS COMIC FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! lol
That’s in the cards. But is it on the card?
More Champ? I think it’s a must.
As to Velvet, I thought she was hurt?
IT SHOULD BE!!! lol Your the main event of RAW (Rival Angels Wrestling), not that match. lol
“This is my company now.”
Yes, Krystin, because this exact same attitude, right down to the hatred of Sabrina’s presence in RA, worked out so well for Chloe.
Good point.
There is always time for HUGS!
Hmmm…
Me and Brooke might actually agree on something…
And Krystin, sweetie, there is no such thing as ‘my time’ in wrestling, you have to earn it each and every freekin’ day. Very tiring.
Nap now.
*snooze*
Words of wisdom!
One hug just isn’t enough, there’s always room for more. 🙂
Besides, I think Krystin maybe a tad jealous with how things go for Sabrina, while she has to work her way to the top. 🙁
They say that hard work pays off in the end, it makes me wonder if Gabby notices that in Krystin ? 🙁
Where has this belief come from that Sabrina doesn’t work for what she gets? She has to win her matches just like everyone else.
She got into TV Title Tourney because she WON the Fatal Four Way.
She got all the way to the Final because she WON those matches to get there.
‘Brina has had to FIGHT for every step she’s taken.
Show me the proof that says otherwise.
Hey Sammie although I like Sabrina, I have to say that Marina Ortiz helped her to win against Susy “Love” Cettina (an unfair victory by count out 🙁 ) in her first Rival Angels fight.
Krystin, as you may remember, has been on Gabrielle’s radar for a while now.
DefTech knows backstage politics.
Correct. Her head is not just a hat rack.
Well, I’m glad Brooke hugged it out. That’s one of the primary human comfort mechanisms, and it does feel good. Let’s see what happens.
Yeah, I think it’s safe to say that they’re all good. But what next?
Hug it out, ladies! 🙂
Hug It Out!
Well said! Get the chant going!
I do need something new to chant about, Bring! Back! ‘Brina! has been accomplished!!
Well done with bringing her back. 🙂
Get in there, Amanda! More hugging! And Krystin has something of a point, but we’ve yet to see if Sabrina will get the level of push she had before. Our Lady of Strappy Italian Boots (I’ve missed that phrase) may have moved on to a new favorite by now.
Too true about Gabrielle. We won’t be seeing her boots, but she’s coming up. 😉
That’s why brooke has the heart cutout over her chest.. its a hug bullseye lol. I agree with cookie ogre this hug could use some one woman soman swat team (that’s like 5 hugs.. with breatching charges!). Im glad were getting a true villian from the upstarts.. krystin never seemed as flushed out as the other 3, so im looking forward to the up coming arcs. Hope the job hunt is going well?
Job hunt is crummy, but I’m still pushing on. 😉
Amanda hugging them puts the hug meter off the charts, but rest assured, Amanda is a fan of the hugging.
Lol, Ah Brooke. Dumb, but loyal. As for Krystin… I’m thinking she’s going to need one hell of an attitude adjustment. Maybe a Satan’s Funhouse extreme match will knock some sense into her
Krystin has experience in those hardcore matches. XD
“Don’t have to hug everything out” ??? Bite your tongue missy! *glares*
But seriously, as I recall, Krystin has resented Sabrina’s push right from the start – though she wasn’t as obvious about it as Brooke, the Upstarts have never been on the same page.
Like page 9 of the first season, Krystin didn’t like Sabrina’s push. XD
Hugs make the world go around.
Everyone loves her hugs, indeed. 😛
Brooke’s hugging technique is flawless. No A-frame hug there.
I must dispute! Surely my hugs are better…
Guarantee!
Special *Hugs* for Brenda!
XD
ok krystin- i see the title hasn;t swollen your head much in “your company”. you know you who have at most 2 friends in the whole place (though Xtina and her might be able to bond i’m thinking), that you’ve won the secondary title and have held for what a month? (if brooke was her first defense can’t have the belt for too long). i can see how Gabby’s handing you the keys to the company after all that.
at least she’s not questioning herself anymore and getting sidetracked by “cleaning up” RA which aren;t going to lead to anything.
also that wasn;t the “broken” hand she punched the table with there is it? or will she have a matched set now? “curse you brina for making me punch the table so hard i broke my other hand!”- kicks table- “MY FOOT!”-hops around-” Brina you shall pay for this!” – more Brooke hugs.
Favoritism should be a real fear amongst these girls. Favoritism is more important than some realize. You can be the best in the ring and still be at the bottom of the ladder if they don’t like you.
Management has already shown from the beginning that of the four of them, Sabrina is their favorite and will push her above the others.
I disagree.
Back to the beginning when the Upstarts first got into the company. Brooke? Gabrielle flat out ignored her. She was there to look good, but Brooke pidgeonholed herself into that role and Gabs knew as much. But there may have been potential for something, so she got a call up. It was up to Brooke to make herself worth more, though; nobody had time to teach her the basics.
Sabrina got some attention, but Gabrielle didn’t really give her career advice. Sabrina got veteran advice, and this person reported to Gabrielle, but the boss let the vet handle things as she saw fit. Meanwhile, Mancini might’ve gotten marketing that the others didn’t get, but that’s business. Of the Upstarts, the average wrestling fan would for whatever reason connect the easiest to Sabrina. That was mentioned several times by several different people. So with limited time/resources to dedicate to advertisements to build someone up, Gabrielle went with the one who would get the most returns for that money in the immediate sense of people being interested in watching someone they’d never seen before.
Sun had the most complete package out of the gate: skill, exciting moves, personality, and most importantly, initiative. Between her friendship with Sabrina and her efforts to connect with Damage Inc., Sun Wong needed no help getting into the public eye and finding a role for herself. In fact I struggle to remember specific guiding conversations Gabrielle ever had about the direction that Sun’s career was going… as long as it was going somewhere and she didn’t have to do any work, great.
Krystin was actually Gabrielle’s special case. Of all the Upstarts, Krystin was the only one that Gabrielle personally intervened and nudged into thinking/acting a certain way, handpicking an opponent with whom to feud so as to allow her to show off the versatility and meanstreak… even going so far as to invite people to Krystin’s match (flying to Paris during a PPV week and trying to get last-minute accommodations was going to be *such* a pain otherwise). In fact it was during that show when Gabrielle said something like Sabrina is a body to put into a match because people will watch her, but if she’s going to be moping about and not give everything in a match there’s no reason to employ her (because she’s otherwise easily replaceable). But Gabrielle went to the effort of getting into Krystin’s head and manipulating her to step up, stand out, whatever because Krystin is not as easily replaced and therefore warrants doing a little work with her.

That’s why Brooke’s best case scenario is to be a hoss. It’s obvious she didn’t learn much during her time in developmental, so why try to wrestle when she can just use the freakish strength developed over her lifetime and bulldoze over people?

Sabrina Mancini is a spot monkey. That is why the average wrestling fan would gravitate towards her. Why watch complicated chain wrestling moves when you could just watch some 5’9″ acrobat flip their way to victory and your heart? But unlike Brooke, Sabrina just had a bad teacher who taught her that anything in the ring can be solved with flippies; that’s why even the most basic submission moves flummox her. Then again, she wasn’t really brought to Rival Angels for her wrestling ability; she was a cash cow Gabby’s gonna ride until either she gets stale, fulfills her destiny of becoming Gabby’s new pet, or one of Sabrina’s flippies goes wrong. Should have just taken the time to learn how to actually wrestle.
Well, out of the Upstarts, Sun is the only wrestling fan. And it is her dream to be a pro wrestler. And she did have backing from other pro wrestlers to send her to Rival Angels. And she is the only one who has to wrestle a faster style due to her build, unlike Sabrina. The only speed bump left is the “good hand” speed bump. And speaking of good hands…
And that’s why Sabrina has handlers all around her. Without them, she becomes an emotionally fragile wreck. Krystin, on the other hand, looks to be in a double-edged sword situation by Gabby. She may be what Gabby is looking for to add legitimacy to Rival Angels in terms of wrestling. But without a personality that will make people buy tickets to see her, she will turn her into a “good hand”, someone you know can go out there and get a good match out of even the worst performers. Good for job security, bad for upward mobility. The best Krystin can hope for on that road is a thank-you reign in her 30s (or 40s) before they ship her out. During her time on that road, she will see every flavor of Sabrina pass her by on their way to the top. Does Krystin have that much love for pro wrestling to stay for that if Gabby gets her way?
For Brooke, her strength only gets her so far. It’s not like we haven’t seen smaller wrestlers brawl with her or pick her up. She’s strong but not freakishly impervious to pain.
I don’t feel like Sun is the only wrestling fan, maybe just the one who’s been the fan the longest. That fandom played primarily into her backstory as she likely wouldn’t have been recruited to train if she didn’t know the guy who came to her job. However fandom is not required as long as you have your head in the right place.
Sabrina’s propensity for or susceptibility to submissions seems to be largely a matter of style. New submissions are, of course, a challenge for anybody, but saying she had a bad trainer is unfair to the trainer. Sure, you could dedicate years to learning the thousands of holds out there, but is that all necessary in every instance? We’ve seen Sabrina apply and break holds, she seems as competent as her average opponent.
Krystin has a personality, but she swings between extremes. She’s either so cool and in control that she runs the risk of being boring, or she explodes into beast mode under duress. However if she keeps winning matches and beating the right people, none of that will matter. Gabrielle will find some way to market her.
There must be something going on if she’s that worried over Sabrina taking her title. I mean Sabrina was always the Golden Girl but she never got the title. If Krystin worked hard for that belt then she deserves it and shouldn’t really worry about Sabrina who again didn’t win the title the first time around when it was up for grabs. Not saying she won’t the next time, but still if Ultra Girl couldn’t win the title but I did, I’d be pretty damn proud
