Chapter 9-Page-18-Awkward
This became more than just a wrestling match between two competitors. There was already bad blood between Sabrina and Kat, now add in the ex-boyfriend that almost ruined Sabrina’s career and an axe to grind with Kat and Hell’s Belles. If nothing else, it puts both women in a bad spot. Kat for obvious reasons, and for Sabrina, she doesn’t want to be *handed* the belt, that’s something that could ruin everything she’s worked for. You think Michael thought of this when he pushed for Vince to be the ref?

As much as I no mind seeing Kat get her ass handed to her… having the ref NOW trying to be the man he wasn’t in that alley is not the way I’m guessing Sabby wants this to go down. And yes, he was NOT a man then. He let her get the crap kicked out of her.
I’d post my own thoughts, but Mo pretty well covered them exactly.
Here’s the thing, he isn’t a man, he hasn’t grown a spine, he had a referee shirt handed to him and he’s hiding behind it. Take that away and he’ll revert back to that coward we saw squealing for help in the alleyway instead of actually helping.
Yep. Kat’s got the biggest pair in that ring.
It does put Sabrina in a bit of a bind, doesn’t it?

Panel 4 she doesn’t LOOK like she’s in the ropes, though with her hand and her feet out of frame, we can’t be sure.
Panel 5 though, Vince is already pushing the bounds of what is expected from referees. Physically restraining a wrestler rather than starting a five count for a rope break isn’t specifically prohibited, but it’s riding very cross to the edge of a line.
Panel 6, Vince’s comment is clearly uncalled for. I would have thought his interest would lay in being fair and impartial, but it’s often apparent that people’s views of their best interests are not always as clear to them as they are to me.
I disapprove of these shenanigans! Fair fights I say! Sack the referee! Get someone in there who’s going to play by the rules!

I’m still expecting a swerve (the good kind not the ‘this makes no freaking sense’ kind) in all of this. If anything, Vince’s partiality is over the top to the point that I can’t believe it’s for real. Soo… my prediction is he acts like he’s favoring Sabrina but when the time comes, he screws her over. Remember, Vince has never been noted for being a stand-up guy, and I don’t think he’s changed THAT radically since we last saw him.
Dat’s what I tinks, anyhoo.
Also remember it was Michael that made him referee. And I don’t see him wanting to screw over Sabrina, especially since she’s Gabriella’s favorite pet (blech). But I do see him wanting to see Kat screwed over for a certain special lady.
Michael probably has something planned. Vince can’t be the only thing up his sleeve.

Michael is taking a hot situation (Kat and Sabrina) and trying to mix it up and make it more volatile. So far, it’s worked.

Honestly I don’t feel sorry for KAt her calling someone else a cheating wench is hilarious as cheating is the only reason she beat Brina the first time round. I hope she gets destroyed.

almost appears michael’s thrown a ringer into the mix to ensure a victory…but for who? after all this is wrestling so the ally of right now is the enemy three seconds from now. but don;t worry Brina won;t see it coming either way ;P

I’m not rightly sure. I’ve never known it from my experience, and I’m pretty sure it is, at the very least, frowned upon for male Officials to get physical with the female competitors (for fear of kicking their asses, of course, *nod*)
But on the other hand, despite usually resorting to the finger counting and angry arm waving, I’ve seen wrestlers forcibly separated by a whole hustle/bustle load of Officials when feelings boil over a little too much on a whole heap of occasions.
I think it’s one of those scenarios that no-one puts a great deal of thought into as…well…is not supposed to happen!
Wrestlers get down with the fisticuffs, Zebra’s count to three.

Now, if Vincenzo here just gets aggressive all around, it’ll be odd, but not a big deal. If Sabrina has KAT in the ropes, and then he just gives her a five count, then we have a problem.
Well, on one hand, it’s good to see a ref that’s actually not intimidated by the wrestlers. You know, the kind who’ll yell about their authority while backing up. On the other hand, Vince is making a complete ass of himself…. then again, that’s pretty much par for the course for ol’ Vinnie, isn’t it?
