Chapter: Chapter 6 - Rules of Engagement
Characters: Sabrina Mancini, Vincent
Seems like Sabrina and Vincent are getting along after a bit of a rough start, and Vincent’s answer should prove interesting. It might even help in figuring out how Brooke plans on getting Sabrina fired and out of the rookie house.
To Krystin’s credit, she doesn’t want to participate in the scheme to get rid of Sabrina. And there’s the Lil Dragon herself! Seems Brooke and Krystin forgot that Sun’s there, on the couch and that their voices travel. Sun doesn’t look too comforted with what she overheard, but what will her next step be?
Looking at Panel 2: Sun, looks like she’s gone cry..she seems very sad. I don’t know why, Sun is not furious about it.
I really thought Brooke’s plan is flawless, but it’s seems chances became less.
if Brooke wants Sabrina out of Rival Angels, here what she will do. or should I say it’s a must. I wish Brooke will just choose the following options.
1. Destroy Sabrina, in a case that she can’t wrestle. I mean a career threatening injury, make her physical and psychologically unable to wrestle. psychologically, I mean in a case make her have a phobia in wrestling, make Sabrina don’t want to participate wrestling. don’t wait for her to get fired.
2. Flaw of getting her fired is that, other wrestling organization will get her again, or maybe Sabrina goes back in the development territory, but Sabrina will come back in the future, coming back strong and better. and that’s danger for Brooke.
3. I might suggest Brooke joining the Hell’s Belle. and there might be a greater chance that Brooke’s plan works perfectly.
If Brooke didn’t got my suggestions. Sad to say, Brooke plan will be unsuccessful.
Krystin is clever enough to stay out of this trouble. coz it doesn’t concern her for any reason. but it will affect her friendship and their tag team match coming. they still don’t get along. coz Brooke or Krystin don’t trust each other.
What’s you gonna do..Sun..warn Sabrina, or kept silent?
I guess, Sun is gonna warn Sabrina, since Sun don’t like Brooke.
there might be a chance.. that Sun will participate on this scheme. (it could happen.. chances of happen is just 10%) Why I say Sun will betray Sabrina?
Looking back episode 62. Sun is thinking, will she kick Sabrina or not, but Sabrina just fainted, then listening the audience cheering, So I guess, she didn’t had a chance. she’ll wait. just like Brooke waiting, and acting in front of Sabrina like her friend.
Let’s define the role of the Shinobi, Their roles may have included sabotage, espionage, scouting. it’s will depend on Sun’s decision. will she sabotage Brooke plan or betray her friendship.
Let’s say, Brooke noticed that Sun is knows her plan. I think Brooke, will pay. pay Sun great amount of money. maybe hire Sun to betray Sabrina.
“everybodies got a price”
So, Vincent gets girls drunk and then takes advantage of them? Is that what he’s saying?
Does Brooke think she can invent some kind of scandal because of Vincent? Maybe what his job is? Or because of his reputation?
I hope Sabrina’s smart enough to not actually do anything with him that could get her fired. Posing nude or something. Even if nudity wasn’t a problem, that could get her in trouble because Rival Angels probably owns the rights to her image. Breach of contract.
@M.G.C.
I don’t think the Hell’s Belles like Brooke enough to team up with her.
Sun could tell Sabrina, but she could not say anything and still help Sabrina by doing something else. As albone would say, “she’s a ninja”. She could do something more subtle and still help. I can’t see her not doing anything, and the look on her face makes me think she’ll try to help Sabrina. Now, whether she’ll be successful or not is another matter.
Not everybody’s “price” is monetary. But Sun may be skeptical enough of Brooke to not be easily “bought off” by her.
I might suggest to Brooke, if she’s can’t have Krystin’s support and the Hell’s Belle support. you better act alone, acting it alone, might be hard, but it’s very worth the effort. but acting alone in a scheme, will use lots and lots of analyzing the problems mostly have many back-up plan, and even have to endure the worst case scenario.
@anon y mouse
I don’t think the Hell’s Belles like Brooke enough to team up with her
I think if Brooke convince Chloe, there might still be a chance. since they have same mission. and if Brooke have guts to show up in Chloe’s mansion. and knee down to Chloe. there might still have a chance. “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” as they say.
MGC, Sun’s more stunned than anything about hearing what she’s heard. Sun’s sneak (she’s a ninja) but Brooke is going to a level that Sun can’t reach. Brooke’s made her intentions pretty clear now, she wants Sabrina out of the house and out of Rival Angels. Brooke could try to injure Sabrina out of wrestling, but if you think about it, that’s already backfired in the rookie fatal four way, so she might not be so eager to try that again. Sun joining Brooke’s plan? It’s certainly possible, but not very probable especially for money.
A Mouse, if Vincent were talking to a dude, I think he might be bragging about his conquests, but with Sabrina he’s trying to be a bit more smooth about it. Of course, how smooth can you be if you have to state it instead of show it? lol I hate to say that I really haven’t left any clues to date about how Brooke can use this to her advantage, but I can say that a puzzle piece is coming. That’s a pretty solid line of thinking for what could get Sabrina canned. A reader mentioned to me that in the NFL, some players have it in their contract that prohibits them from engaging in ‘dangerous’ activities like riding motorcycles. Not saying that Brooke’s plan hinges on Sabrina riding on the back of a motorcycle, but its in the same vein as that.
Sabrina: “So, you take a lot of girls here?”
Vincent: “Hell, yes, this place is ‘Spanich Fly’ after a night of partying.”
How is that not bragging?
If this is Vincent’s way of charming up a woman, he must have some serious faith in his animal attraction, because his words surely don’t make him particularly trustworthy.
Or else, he’s used to girls who are so drunk and/or horned up that they actually go for the staight-on “hey-babe-lets’s-make-out” approach…
Well, the comic isn’t called ‘Friendly Angels’.
Krystin would be better off not falling under the influence of Brooke, or before you know it, she’ll be the Sid Vicious to Brooke’s Ric Flair; muscle who wastes her time doing dirty work.
Sun’s no dummy. If there’s a war coming, she knows what to do. (Thought I’d ramp up the paranoia, Albone. Heh.)
thinking about the situation a bit. if Brooke is targeting Sabrina to get fired, the dumbness idea. coz Commissioner Gabrielle likes the rating of the rival angels now, with the merchandise. now she’ll get fired. I don’t think so. it be very well back fire to Brooke. making them, or canceling their match against the catgirls, and making the catgirls number 1 contenders for the tag team belts.
or maybe, Vincent is not just a regular person.
Upon Sabrina asking Vincent “What do you do for a living?” could it be….Vincent is working in Rival Angels, like an executive vice-president or even the General Manager something. or worse.. Vincent is the fiancee of Commissioner Gabrielle.
JackAce, yeah Vincent’s trying to be smooth and see how Sabrina reacts. He probably figures he’s in a no-lose situation considering Sabrina didn’t lay a beating on him for the window incident. We’ll find out a little bit more about Vincent in just a moment.
Right you are Justin, ‘Friendly’ is far from it. Krystin’s too smart to turn into Sid Vicious and I don’t know that Brooke has the patience to be brainy strategian.
MGC, ah you’re peeking into what Gabrielle’s thinking. Let’s just say that it would take a lot for Gabrielle to get rid of a ratings draw like Sabrina. BUT, what Brooke is planning may very well be enough. And good catch with how this page ended, that will definitely come into play.
Nicely drawn page! The faces on the girls are awesome. I really like the panel in panel for 3/4. Oh, and the skewed horizon for panel 2? Nice homage to Batman to depict Sun’s sense of “uh-oh” ness. The silhoueete’s slowed down the reading nicely in the last panel, too.
Story-wise. who knows what Brooke’s up to. Something shifty, but she is having a hard time trying to get Krystin to get in on it… if it’s something to do with Vincent, it’ll definitely be one of those storylines like Jericho & Trish Stratus: he’ll pretend to really really like Sabrain and then when they get super close, Brooke will reveal that it’s a trick and Sabrina will be all “boo hoo i can’t go on anymore…” won’t work… never does.
This story is becoming more complicated. Many angles of Brooke’s plan.. let’s start episode 77. Brooke splashes the glass liquior towards to Sun, which Sun ducked and hit’s Sabrina. I realized it, that it might be Brooke’s intention wasn’t on Sun, it was intented for Sabrina. link this to episode 80, Brooke ask Krystin “why you didn’t hit Sabrina?” Brooke is using her roomate to help her get rid of Sabrina.
There’s another possibility than Sun’s involvement. episode 77. Sun interupted Brooke, could it be they already talked about the plan? coz it was a great timing when Sun ducked the splash of liquior which hit’s Sabrina’s face. (it’s chances only 10%)
speaking of which, I might even think, Brooke will do something too. Krystin and Brooke are preparing to take a rest on Panel 1.. Panel 2 we see Sun is resting as well preparing to sleep. maybe Brooke’s plan is to lock the doors shut.. so Sabrina can’t get in. coz they’re all sleeping. which will be Sabrina will remain outside. making Sabrina unconfortable. I think it will be phase one on Brooke’s retaliation.
Let’s say Sabrina’s is tired really likes to sleep, then suddenly those punk girls saw Sabrina. maybe kick the living hell out of Sabrina, coz Sabrina didn’t get some sleep and she’s tired. and leaving Sabrina injuried.
I think there is another angle on ‘Will Sun help Sabrina?’.
How about enlightened self interest? If Sun can warn Sabrina at opportune times so Brooke becomes even more obsessed with elaborate revenge, then Sun has one less enemy focused on her. This line of reasoning assumes Sun thinks having Sabrina around is a valuable thing.
Oooh Vince, his lines are even worse than “Hiya baby, what’s your sign?” ( the correct answer is “no parking” )
That boy is so self confident that the open ‘let’s get it on’ approach will work… has he ever had a girl slap him?
I have this funny image in my head of an alternate Rival Angels logo: on one side is an angel girl with wings and halo, while on the other is a devil girl with horns and spiked tail holding a steel folding chair. My subconscious thinks up all sorts of wierd stuff.
Onward to Friday!
Thanks Jamie! I’m glad you liked the page. 🙂 There were a few new things that I tried and I’m glad that they worked out. Brooke would have to be pretty mean to pull the Jericho/Trish angle but rest assured that she does have ill intent for Sabrina.
MGC, Justin posted before that there’s the possibility that Sun might be in on the scam against Sabrina, and also that Krystin is doing well to avoid being Brooke’s minion. If Sabrina ran into anybody hostile right now, with little sleep as she’s had, she’d have no chance. As for being locked out, Sabrina has a key and most likey Sun would let her in, but I like what you’re thinking. Expect a puzzle piece to drop on Friday.
Roller Derby Fan! Good point about sneaky Sun, she IS a ninja so looking out for #1 might be what’s she’s doing. Vincent is incredibly charmed right now. He’s taking Sabrina out for coffee and didn’t get his head kicked off. Right now, he can do no wrong. 😛
I like your logo idea, and I did mess around with variations but I may give this a go. If it works, i’ll be sure to post it. Thanks for the idea, and Friday is coming!
“So what do you do for a living?”
Boy: “I’m a pimp, Sabrina. And I’m recruiting. You interested in a career change?”
Hahahahaha Dan!
@M.G.C.
I think the Hell’s Belles would want Brooke to prove herself. “They don’t take losers”, or something like that.
Good point about Gabrielle. I’ve been hinting that kind of thing, But I didn’t think about Vincent and her being involved with each other.
@albone
Yeah, I know you haven’t given any clues as to how Vincent could ruin Sabrina’s career, but it’s still fun guessing. He doesn’t seem all that smooth to me, but I doubt that’s been much of a problem for him. It sounds to me like Sabrina isn’t his normal type of date. For one, she’s less drunk then he’s made it sound like most of his dates are.
I’ve heard actors have similar “dangerous activities” clauses, so it sounds like “breach of contract” is still a possibility.
@Roller Derby Fan
Good point about Sun. It meshes well with my idea that she’s skeptical of Brooke. I agree that it may be in her own interests to keep Sabrina around. So, even if she is motivated by selfish reasons, she might still want Sabrina around. I hope it’s more than that.
@Justin
LOL Friendly Angels! That’s HILARIOUS!
@Dan
I don’t think she’d be interested, but that was pretty funny, too.
