Page 88 – Arrival

The Hell’s Belles have been around since almost the beginning but this is the first time we’re seeing them in full on, wrestling stable mode. As you can see, they like to make an entrance. If you couldn’t tell before, Chloe’s the one running the show. All that being said, the fans aren’t too happy to see the Belle’s, but the feelings mutual.
As we found out, Katherine Smith will be fighting later in the night against Monica Rumble in the Television Tournament and that will be the main event. Jennifer is in the tournament as well and we’ll find out on the next update who she’ll be fighting.
And if you were wondering about the Hell’s Belles entrance music was, its obvious, but so right.

Aren’t they worried that their costumes will be ripped off? Chloe has to worry the least, but her gloves could still be torn off her.
I don’t think you’d need a program to know who was fighting if you listened to the announcers. But, it’s still nice to have a souvenir.
Here’s to the return of the colored speech bubbles. That’s a good idea because the speakers are off-screen.

I really like technique of panel 2.. the combination of the lights went out, then the bell rang… Bong… The best entrace music, Hell’s Belle.. it had power and dominants to their opponent. Never nice.

A Mouse: “Wardrobe Malfunction” is a problem every performer needs to care about if she chooses her outfit more for aestetic reasons than practical ones.
You could ask the samne question about Sabrina and Brooke, and to a slightly lesser extend Krystin and Loretta Diaz too.
I expect these women do take care that any potential stress-fatigue points on their costumes are sown down extra securely…

A Mouse, the Hell’s Belles take extra care to make sure that they don’t have any wardrobe malfunctions, especially Chole who is no-nonsense in the ring. Actually, she’s always pretty no nonsense. Programs do make a nice souviner and they’re always hawking them at just about any sporting event. Some are less obnoxious than others. 😛 Glad you’re happy to see the return of the commentators Dawn and Jeff. As the narrators of the matches they’ve got a big part.
MGC, I’m glad you’re happy to see the Hell’s Belles and with their wrestling outfits. 🙂 I think the Hell’s Belles entrance theme is such a wicked entrance theme. I could’ve dedicated an entire 9 panel page to just the entrance but I didn’t want to bog down the story. lol I’m hoping to have a new Voting Incentive tomorrow of Monica Rumble but its still a work in progress. Monica’s not Hornswoggle height, she’s just shorter than them and she’s a bit of a brawler. Chloe’s mean like that. As far as stats go, I’m working on a special TV Tournament page that will have all of the information you’re looking for, though sadly Chloe won’t be on that. I seriously need to clone myself so I can get this done. Don’t worry about Chloe declaring war on the roster, the Hell’s Belles can handle themselves. 😉 And yes, just the three of them.
JackAce, no worries on any Hell’s Belles wardrobe malfunctions as I explained with A Mouse. It’s possible that a problem may come up later with one of the other wrestlers (could you guess who?) but nothing on the immediate horizon. Now that music you posted… that is good entrance music and I have plenty of girls who could use good entrance music.

So the page will be consisting only wrestler who enter the tournament? So Catgirls and Sara Valentine won’t be in that Stat? even though they’ll be wrestling against the upstarts.
It’s kinda sad. Chloe won’t be showing her stat yet.. 🙁

bd, yes there are two dozen wrestlers on the roster. Most of them will be introduced with the Television tournament going on.
MGC, the TV Tournament page will only have its participants and will be slightly different than the current GIRLS page. Don’t worry about Chloe, she’s not going anywhere so I’ll be getting her information up. I’m glad you like De Sade so much. Anyone else really like Chloe De Sade?

Speaking of TV tournament. is the tournament a one night event? I mean in the end of the night, we can see the New TV champion…
I will count on Katherine Smith and Jennifer Needles, either one of them will be the TV. Champ.. and I see Sabrina Beaten. I really mean squashed beaten… hahahahah…
So 3 more wrestlers whose in the tournament still unknown to us. I’ll try to guess who are in the tournament? hmmm.. is it? Marina Ortiz and Suzy Cetinna?

Jamie, glad you like De Sade’s outfit! Chloe is french born, and french speaking. I don’t think I’ve explicitly said that before and one of the only real hints was on page 71 where Kat address Chloe as ‘Marquise.’ Hopefully I can get a bio or stat sheet up soon on De Sade.
MGC, why would Chloe be in wrestling attire when she doesn’t have a match? Hmmmm… good question, good question. There is a very good reason for it, but I’d hate to ruin any surprise. Best short term answer is its a good way for me to show you how Chloe looks in her wrestling attire. The TV Tournament is more than one night, with only one match of the tournament being on THIS fight card. Marina and Susy are NOT scheduled to be in the tournament, though Schoolgirl Valentine is. Most are wrestlers that I’ve yet to unveil yet, but will soon. I’m thrilled that you’re excited for the tournament, I can’t wait to get into it myself!
JackAce, Ha Ha! MGC has been calling Chloe the ‘White Queen’ for a while, just a nickname like he has for Sun, calling her Shinobi. 🙂

The Hell’s Belles’ entrance music… I’m not an AC/ DC fan so I wasn’t familiar with the tune. I’ll say this, it fits, great choice.
Jack Ace’s proposed entrance theme is good too, it has the sense of menace, just needs three gong strikes to open with.
The costumes:
Katherine’s top seems to have a problem and not the one everyone thinks; is there a danger an opponent could get her hand around the red portion and choke her?
Chloe’s outfit… I don’t quite understand, are the vertical struts raised out of the garment’s surface or are they just darker stripes? They seem to cast a shadow in panel five. I would have expected a leather dominatrix outfit, what she has on looks more like a surfer’s bodysuit. I was at the beach last week so maybe my point of view is a little skewed.
Jennifer’s top can easily lose the halter straps and still maintain containment integrity, it’s clear to me her top doubles as a strapless exercise bra.
The crowd is as much a character as the wrestlers are. Good work with the sound effects, in panel three putting the “Booooo!” toward the bottom shows the crowd takes a moment to realize it’s the Belles.
What I’m getting at is like as the water in the last two episodes was drawn consistently with the look for the rest of the comic, here the crowd reactions become part of the landscape, as it has to for we the readers to experience it, and it too is consistent with the world.
I have a feeling the souvenier program doesn’t go, “Starting off tonight, Chloe de Sade takes over the ring and declares her ultimatum!! Will the combined might of all the Rival Angels be enough to stop the three Princesses Of Darkness in their quest for global domination?? Keep showing up to find out!!”
Right on RDF! Yeah, Kat’s costume could be used that way to choke her, but I don’t think she’s terribly worried about. Form over function! Chloe’s outfit does have raised grooves on her suit. Honestly, I don’t know the reason that it does that, but the suit I referenced had it and it seemed kind of cool. I almost went with the dominatrix outfit but I thought I’d change it up just a bit and make an outfit a bit more helpful for wrestling. Good call on Jennifer’s top, though I don’t plan on having any wardrobe malfunctions with the Hell’s Belles.

Monica Rumble, she looks strong, even for a small gal. I still don’t know both Katherine and Monica’s wrestling style and their finisher so I can’t compare and the exact advantage and disadvantage. surely Kat have the height advantage. and if Kat really used powermoves, like Powerbomb, DVD, piledriver, gorilla press slam and other on Monica surely Katherine will win…
but on the other hand, if Monica concentrating on grounding Kat. Monica must target Kat kneecap, chopblock, low dropkick onto the knee, kick to knee. That’s effective on putting down Kat smith. and if Monica successful used that, surely Monica will win. 🙁
But I don’t think Monica had a chance, coz Katherine always have a back-up, Chloe and Jennifer.
Looking at Monica, she’s the only pimpled gal in Rival Angel.. ahhah.. 😀 even though she’s like that small and pimpled gal, I don’t really think other wrestler underestimate her. if Monica will battle Sun, for instants.. Surely Sun will have a hardtime winning, Monica is strong, (IMO) I can compare her strenght and power is equal to Brooke (IMO)..
Monica’s a bit of a brawler, a spunky, sptifire brawler. Kat has like a 6 inch height advantage over little Monica, but Monica won’t let something like height get in the way. Oh and Monica’s not pimply, but freckly! I might not have drawn that right so apologies. Monica and Sun would be a pretty fun match, I think I’ll have to try and schedule that for the future.
I kind of figured that the Hell’s Belles wouldn’t really have to worry about wardrobe malfunctions, if for no other reason then they are veterans in the sport. But their outfits do look like they could be torn off them; especially Jennifer Needles’. This is probably part of their strategy. I bet a lot of the guys in the audience hope their outfits will come off.
People are always hawking all kinds of things. I just thought it’d be funny to mock his hawking. Yeah, people use that kind of like when hawking things all the time, but it’s fun to point out that they are wrong.
Yes, I am happy to see the return of the commentators Dawn and Jeff. I like how they have different personalities and like different wrestlers; they offset each other well. But I was also complementing the use of different colors for their speech bubbles because they are ‘off camera’ a lot and it’s a good way to show which one is talking. I like how you’ve used different colors for the speech and thought bubbles in general, but I don’t think I’ve mentioned it yet and thought it would be a good time to.
