Page 150 – Brooke
Pretty much an unhappy household right now, and two days before the second round of the Television Tournament is to pick back up again (being Saturday in story time). Sun, doing her BFF duty and consoling Sabrina. Krystin really laying into Brooke for being so reckless and irresponsible. I think its going to be a long time before we see all four girls together out at the ‘Lolipop’ bar anytime soon.
I hope no one’s *too* disappointed with the lack of physical bombs dropping but you have to admit that there’s quite a lot of emotional damage done on just about everyone involved. To that, I tried to show artistically on this page, starting off light and ending dark. In any case, a pretty rough spot to be. Where do we go from here?

Back to Panel 1: “Shinobi” “Lili Dragon” Sun Wong said “they deserve to be Ninja’d” why did Sun didn’t Ninja’d Brooke? hehehe…
Lovely though.. no action, or butt kicking or either one got destroyed.. 🙁
First time seeing “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini cried.. hhehehe.. emotionally crying, it’s not my think.. it’s better seeing “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini crying in pain in the hands of “White Queen” Chloe De Sade.. than crying for this kind of emotional tears..
Panel 2: Sun said “People going think I beat you up” is that ah..just a phrase or a statement.. I mean, is Sun have evil intention of beating Sabrina up.. could it be a clue for the future?
Panel 4: Brooke said “what a drama queen” ah? Looks who’s talking.. Brooke is the drama queen.. I’ll say..
episode 148.. Brooke said “Are you going to beat me up?” with Brooke poor puppy face..
Panel 5- 6: I think Krystin is demoralizing Brooke.. I’m thinking Brooke will leave and quit..
Â
As far as disappointed.. yes.. I expect, a crushing blows between Sun and Brooke.. or maybe Brooke and Sabrina.. eiher one happen.. 🙁
I really hope that “Rival Angels” will keep more action, and a little drama.. I miss “White Queen” Chloe De Sade!! and the Hell’s Belle..
and the Voting Incentive.. Hhahaha.. Zombie Luna.. nah! not a fan of Zombie Luna.. and why Zombie Luna with a frail. maybe in match.. “Power Gal” Katherine Smith and “Red Hair Maiden” Jennifer Needles VS Tower of Terror (Dungeon Match)
frail, sword, axe, scepter, club, mace are used..
Hhahaha…
Since this is a comic about wrestling world we’re talking about, I do have a feeling that one day this BFF relationship between Sun & Sabrina could turn ugly. Especially later on when there is a title on the line being involved. We could see someone being pushed through the barbershop glass.
And Krystin … I don’t know. Does this mean that Krystin is actually also together with Brooke plotting against Sabrina ? Or she just worry about her own self getting kicked from Rival Angels, and that’s why she confronting Brooke. Not because Brooke fucked-up the plan, but because Brooke’s action could end up costing her spot on the show.
I think Krystin always knew Brooke was plotting something, but I don’t think she knew the depth of Brook’s… well Brook-ness.
I’d like to think that even if Sun and Sabrina had to face each other, they could leave their personal lives at the door, and their professional lives in the ring. Brooke seems to be the only one who defines herself by her job, as it were, being willing to give up her dignity and her honor in her personal life to feed her career.
Though honestly, I don’t know that much about wrestling (sorry to say!) My limited knoweldge comes from two friends of mine that are serious wrestling fans. I sat down one afternoon and watched a DVD on The Rock with them, trying to pick up all the little nuances. I would hope though that an all female wrestling league that seems to be comprised of more feminine women would live by more feminine standards (the Wrestling women I’ve seen on TV are a little scary looking, if you know what I mean. Pretty all the same, but Wow.)
I’m rambling. I guess I’m just trying to defend Sun and Sabrina’s relationship. I like the two of them, and while I bet they would fight from time to time, I’d hope it wouldn’t be anything that would like, seriously damage their relationship, you know?
MGC, that’s a good idea, having a Rival Angels Dictionary. XD As to what Brooke will do next, this scene is continued into the next update. 😉 It won’t be this chapter, but the Hell’s Belles will be returning soon. After all, they have a title to win! A ‘Dungeon’ match would be pretty cool but you’d have to like the Towers of Terror in that kind of match. 😛
ps2kid, are you thinking someone’s getting kicked through that barbershop glass? XP Ah, good memories, that really kickstarted HBK’s career. Its probably inevitable that Sun and Sabrina will mix it up and I would think the real story there would be in how they felt about each other outside of the ring. That is, if they’re friends outside of the ring, they’d keep the match fairly sporting. If they didn’t like each other outside of the ring, it could be a nasty encounter. But if they fought each other now, they’d keep it professional and knowing them, a tad playful even.
Krystin was never in on the scam with Brooke. Krystin even said way back on page 83 that she didn’t want any part of it. Krystin is very pissed because this plan of Brooke’s could’ve gotten her fired and she worked too hard to have that happen to her like that.
Right on Coyote Lovely! You’re in good company with liking the BFF’ness of Sabrina and Sun. XD Krystin tried to keep as far away as possible from Brooke’s plan, hoping that it woudn’t involve her. And you have the girls pegged perfectly here. We’ve seen Brooke will do just about anything to keep a spot in Rival Angels. Almost seems like she can’t get much lower. Almost. Glad you like Sun and Sabrina’s relationship! You’re going to enjoy what’s coming up. 😉 And like I wrote before, Sun and Sabrina would be cool about facing each other and would probably even make it playful if they currently fought. I’d go so far as to say that they’d probably go out of their way to make each other look good. And of course, a tag team consisting of these two would have to be fun, eh?
I really hope “Ultragirl” Sabrina Mancini learns her lesson.. concentrate her carreer, not her emotions and “Love”
Panel 1-3: ah? Sun’s eyes? ah? it’s kinda like Sun’s eyes are shut close? ah? help?
Yes – an Ultra-Ninja tag-team would be awesome – provided they practice and get their tags coordinated like the Cat Girls. At their current level of experience, I doubt any of the Upstarts could win a tag-team match.
Another dictionary entry:
Brooked: to sabotage one’s own efforts at advancement due to ignorance; I.E.: I Brooked myself when I missed that meeting with the boss.
And an enhancment:
Brooke- (pronounce: Bu ruk) (Adjective): a level of stupidity of great magnitude, previously thought of as unthinkable or unobtainable. See also: Congress, Bailout, Sweeteners, Blagojevich
Rest assured MGC, Sabrina won’t be forgetting any of this any time soon. Â Only in the third panel are Sun’s eyes truly closed. Â
Krytin is not pleased. From what I understand she was initially fine with Brooke’s plan, but once it start jepordizing her own sake she now wants out, or to form one of her own
also, Twilght is so bad it cannot be measured in MegaBrookes
“MegaBrookes!’ Â That’s hilarious! LOL 🙂
Welp, it always is interesting to view alternate takes on what’s happening in the comic, even when I don’t agree with ’em.
Focussing on your carreer at the expense of your feelings or your romantic life is no way to live. You work to live, you don’t live to work. I think if Sabrina were to discard those things in order to focus completely on wrestling, well… she wouldn’t be Sabrina any more. (Not that a certain poster would object to that, LOL!)
That said, this HAS been a wake-up call for her, I think and hope. Namely, that this is sometimes a dirty business and that not everyone you deal with is going to have your best interest at heart. It’s one thing when people like the Belles or the Towers of Terror make their intention clear to mess you up. But you also have to watch your back for people like Brooke who will try to mess you up while pretending to be a friend. Hopefully this will make her realize that she needs to watch her back.
As for Krystin, it doesn’t seem complicated. Brooke bragged in front of her while assuming that she was on her side even when she made it clear that she was staying out of it. The impression I got was that Krystin, who tends to keep people at arms’ length, thought that if Brooke had an issue with Sabrina, it was between the two of them and she wasn’t going to get involved. She hadn’t thought that Brooke would be so reckless and do things that would threaten to screw them ALL over.
Sooooo… right now Brooke seems to be about to hit rock bottom if she hasn’t already. The one person in the house who didn’t actively dislike her is now disgusted by her stupidity. The person she targeted is now wise to her, and has a friend who wouldn’t mind taking her out behind the woodshed for some payback. Her carreer is still in peril, I think, seeing as she only won that last match on a technicality. Ultimately, this could lead to two things — an outright heel turn by Brooke, or perhaps the longer road to redeeming herself. While I consider the former more likely, it would be interesting to see if Brooke can mature as a human being and accept that ultimately she’s been the architect of her own problems.
Very cool, Adon! Some great observations there. You got a great feel for what’s going on with the characters (and some of our readers. XD) This was a very hard lesson for Sabrina, one that she won’t soon forget. An excellent example between the Belles/ToT and Brooke. Way different levels of threat there.
You have an excellent grasp of Krystin. As much as she wanted to keep aloof with her roommates she couldn’t help but become involved, especially now that it could impact her.
And as far as Brooke goes, she’s about as low as she can go so it’ll be interesting to see how she deals with that, starting next update! We’ll also get a sense of what direction she’ll be going in by the end of this chapter.
UltraNinja, for the win!
A Brooke and Sun tag team? That’s hysterical. Sun would probably end up kicking Brooke’s butt instead of fighting the other tag team.
I personally wonder who Brooke is going to blame for this blow up. I don’t see her taking any responsibility for her part in it.  It’ll be interesting to see how she responds to whomever it is that she blames if she does come up with a specific person. She’ll probably still try to take Sabrina down; but I bet Krystin will be on the lookout for that now and, even if it’s only to save her own job, she’ll try to stop it.

Good points, A Mouse and Sabrina, Sun and Krystin are all a little wiser to the ways of Brooke. None of them are going to take for granted any kind of scheme that Brooke may cook up against any of them. Â The stakes are too high!
