Chapter: Chapter 13 - Hostile Intent
Characters: Krystin Moline, Sara Valentine
Location: Angel Dome arena
Sara’s been fighting mostly on the defensive this match. This shouldn’t be too surprising. Krystin’s work ethic and skill set are greater than Sara’s. Sara has her experience and the benefit of a match (schoolyard brawl) that favors her but she’s still having trouble with the ‘rookie.’ And because of such a rough and exciting match, the fans are warming up to Krystin and appreciating her toughness even if they don’t agree with her attitude. This match has flipped more sides than a rubicks cube! More to come on Monday!

I can’t help but chuckle everytime Dawn channels Jim Ross and his “My Gawds!” and “Hellacious shots!”
Good call on that voting incentive, because that just helps to keep me in absolute suspense with the match as far as how it’s going to turn out. Krystin looks to have gotten the upper hand again, but yet our preview image appears to show The Sassy One busting out her lessons from Power of the Punch class (Taught by Professor Regal, of course).
Nice cane and chair shots, love the facial expression in this comic. Looks like Krystin is about have a “nice vist” from everyone favorite heel weapon, the brass knuckle. If Sara connects with that, it is game over and lights out for Krystin.
So… We continue the musical theme with a conchairto 😛 I can’t wait to see the reprieve on Monday hehee This is a crazy good match! xD
It’s gotta be brass knuckles and if that’s the case that’s not a good thing for Krystin. Best thing she can do right now is watch out for flying punches. lol
panel 2- i guess we can officially categorize this match as a slobberknocker. ;P i like krystin’s little old lady walking pose with the cane in panel 1, methinks the Def tech is realizing she can enjoy this style of match after all.
like panel 6’s “Krystin SMASH!!” leading to a hair-raising conchairto.
like Chris says- with the Power of the Punch about to get unleashed, will Krystin’s traditional overconfidence with the advantage to date cost her the match? or will the schoolgirl connect and then showboat herself to cost her the advantage and possibly the match? or will one or the other actually get down to business and followup decisvely when they have the advantage and leave the gloating til after the match? nah i didn;t think so either.
Excellent comedy on Krystin’s part! The frying pan shot was great, too. I thought the two would be knocked out, but it seems that fighting spirit is in the air in this great schoolyard brawl! The last two panels bring back memories of WWE (Then, WWF) St. Valentine’s Day Massacre where The Rock and Mankind knocked each other out with chair-shots. Although Krystin disarmed Sara, it still serves as a reminder of old times. It also serves as a reminder that this match isn’t over! I have a feeling Sara is going to to make an attempt to rise from the ashes and steal victory from the jaws of defeat!
Krystin isn’t even close to 75% now if you see her continued grimacing – a frying pan to the jaw is serious business. Not only does it hurt like the dickens but can also cause concussions (due to the jaw slamming into the head; found to be a leading cause of concussions) but also will cause ringing in the ears and confusion.
I don’t see the chair swing as an offensive maneuver but as a counter, a pre-emptive defensive strike – the “raagh” kind of sealed that point of view for me as those sort of exertion exasperations almost always come in “crap, I’m putting what I have left into X maneuver” counters.
I don’t know where to start..
All here hurts… hehehe!!
unbelievable that Sara stayed too long for a match.. usually she stayed for around 4 episode.. but here!! Sara really endured it..
Panel 2: Krystin hits Sara’s face with a cane!! poor Sara!!
Panel 4: With great velocity can knock Krystin into daze. hhehe!!
Panel 5: more fans love Sara more than Krystin..
Quenstions
I wonder why? no one is busted open yet.. in this school brawl?
I really can’t figure what’s the voting incentive? is that a small pouch on her brassier?
if possibly can we know Sara Valentine’s victim on this ‘Schoolyard brawl’ she said she didn’t loss any schoolyard brawl? to whom did she won?
Addition cheer!!
LET’S GO SARA!!!
LET’S GO SARA!!!
Really great storyline, this old fashion schoolyard brawl is really interesting to read. However in panel six I think Sara’s right hand is broken.
The actions great just the positioning of the hand makes me think Sara’s in a whole new world of hurt which may or may not be intentional.
Heh – robot versus Sara (Connor)… I’d like to think that Krystin will put the chair down and win this match with an actual wrestling move, but then, she’d leave her self open for Sara’s surprise…
Heh, Chris, channeling good ol JR (with a little Gorilla Monsoon) is my way of balancing out Jeff. XD Regal is surgical with them brass knuckles!! But yeah, Sara has tried unsuccessfully before to make contact with Krystin with the brass knuckles, and as you see, Krystin’s the one with the chair….
Thanks for the comments on the art, jabberwocky. 😀 I thought I’d throw the cane in there for good measure. I would agree that if Sara connects with old reliable brass knuckles, it’s lights out for the Definition of Technician. However, Sara’s track record of using the knuckles against Krystin isn’t very good as evidenced from the last match they had. More to come on Monday!
Thanks, Champ! They’re going to start brawling with a keytar next. LOL I’m glad you’re enjoying the match!
RAWF, yeah avoiding or blocking the knuckles is a must for keeping your consciousness. As objectively as I can be, I think Krystin wins over Sara in a straight up fist fight. Of course, that’s not what this is. XD
Yes, jpiv, Krystin is enjoying herself a little bit and that’s part of the reason she’s getting over with the fans better. Panel 6 is definitely some ‘Hulk-smash-channeling’ going on and it worked! But does Krystin have enough in the tank to wield that chair properly? You raise some good questions, and some answers are coming. 😉
Caimaru! These two are laying a legitimate beating on each other, it’s just good conditioning and being extra tough that’s keeping them in this. Honestly, Sara might’ve folded in another match but she’s got something to prove. I’m glad you’re enjoying the match and definitely more to come on Monday.
Picky, you have a great feel for what’s going on in this page. I’d say both girls are less then 70% by now. They’ve really been working each other over since this match started. Krystin’s chair swing was a ‘best defense is a good offense,’ striking before Sara can.
Hey MGC, yeah, lots of pain on this page. Lots of shots to the faces, for sure. Blood? I don’t think it’s necessary yet, the damage so far doesn’t yet warrant it. It could, but that kind of changes the tone of the story. Hmmmm, ‘bloody Valentine.’ You’ll find out on Monday what the voting incentive is alluding to. 😉 As to Sara’s claim of being undefeated, the key to her claim is NOT proving it, which is a common tactic among wrestlers boasting, especially heels.
Hey Xiane! I’m thrilled that you’re digging the story and the match. No broken hand for Sara. I was just exaggerating the effect of the bad vibrations she got from the chair-to-chair contact.
lol GhostEraser! Krystin will not stop…! Well, Krystin’s plan is to win with a wrestling move, specifically the Texas Cloverleaf but she knows she’s got a nice finisher in her hands already.
I would say that the reason brass knuckles didn’t work last time and won’t likely work this time is two-fold. First off, they can’t just be grabbed, they have to be put on. That takes a couple seconds, and if your opponent is watching you then they’ll notice. Secondly, brass knuckles don’t have any reach, unlike a chair, frying pan, or even a tambourine. Sara’s already at a reach disadvantage in this match, being at least a couple inches shorter than Krystin (eyeballing this here), but if she goes for a set of knuckles then Krystin can put a stop to that with the “hand on the head” anti-short-person defense, or (more likely) just whack her with a chair before she can get in range. Brass knuckles might be dangerous and a big heel-pop if I’ve used that term correctly, but in this case it’s really bringing a knife to a sword fight.
Oh, and here you are, Albone. ::serves up some snickerdoodles:: I’ve had major dentistry this week so I can’t have any myself yet, but enjoy!
Had Krystin not knocked the chair out of her hands, you had a great set up here for an epic chair fight!
The nice thing about a shot to the jaw is that it doesn’t have to be hard enough to jostle the brain in order to stun or KO someone. The shock to the nerves at the mandible joints will do it. But Krystin may have eased it just enough. After all it would take a skinny thing like Sara or Jenn a while to get it moving lol.
Thanks for the snickerdoodles, Cookie Ogre. XD Sara’s at a disadvantage physically with Krystin but theoretically, she only needs one good shot to drop Krystin. That’s easier said than done because Krystin prides herself on being on her game. And you’re right about the chair in Krystin’s hands. Much more deadly than the short-arm brass knuckles. We’ll find out how this plays out on Monday!
Dueling chairs, Trevor? That sounds pretty cool, but I bet it wouldn’t last long. Those steel chairs are heavy! And tiring quick from all that swinging around.
Y’know, Champ, I’ve seen it in some MMA fights where a fighter catches a knee to the chin, backs up and then falls down. It’s like the dizzyness takes a second. However, Krystin’s got a good jaw. LOL I think Jenn would do well in a schoolyard brawl. 😉
These girls work out…and besides, after they get all tired and are hanging on each other trying to fight it would be like watching a fight in slow motion. And if movies have taught us anything, it’s that slow motion = awesome!
Time for a stupid question: I know that wrestlers go to special schools to learn wrestling moves and such, but how do they know how hard to smack someone upside the head with a cane to stun them but not kill them? I’d like to nominate a few practice dummy’s for their use, though…
Trevor, that would be pretty funny to see them fight in slow motion, but not be in slow motion!
GhostEraser, no stupid questions. This sort of match is about inflicting a certain amount of pain, but at no time are the girls reckless enough to intentionally try to put each other out of wrestling or worse. So, they’re professional enough to measure their shots. While it hurts, they’re not out to maim. I’ll send the girls over to your dummy nominations…
Ok it’s Monday and no new comic? 😉 just kidding I know its going to be out soon but I can’t wait.
It truly seems like Sarah is mis-matched at her own game… Really how experienced is she. In the ring! I meant in the ring! 😀
Less than 45 minutes!!! LOL Stupid daylight savings screwing everything up. 😛 Sara is experienced in this type of match and the after party matches. XD If you like, VOTE to see an adorable picture of Sabrina from my buddy, Meagan.
