Does Yvonne’s explanation of Sun’s dues paying/hazing make sense even if you don’t agree with it? And poor Topher….
Voting Incentive!
Heh, long time readers probably don’t need any explanation. XD
Imperial March
For those of you that aren’t familiar to the ‘Imperial March’ that Sabrina is referring to, here it is and remember that Sabrina is a Star Wars fan:
Does this mean the Pac-10 will have to speed up their time table in order to offer Sabrina an official invite?
Hmmm Last panel, Brina looks like she’s got something on her mind – such as it is…
Dang it Picky! Here I thought I was gonna be first. First time too. You beat me by a pc hiccup. Just you wait Hummph!
Ah Yvonne has at least laid some of her cards on the table, getting skill talents like Sun and Sabrina would definitely boost Damage Inc value, especially those that work together. Why do I have the feeling Yvonne’s offers are like Al Capone’s, it wasn’t a suggestion and you might have a “accident” with their protection. That feeling of impending doom has just grown, I have a feeling one way or another Yvonne is going to try to get an “Yes” out of Sabrina or there will be Hell’s Belles to pay.
Yvonne once again shows why she’s my favorite Rival Angels heel. The lady is *cunning*. Personally, I think she’s hedging her bets here… if Sabrina DOES accept her implied offer, that would pretty much cement Sun’s loyalty and they would now have two strong new recruits in Damage Inc. If she doesn’t, Yvonne can spin it to Sun that she wasn’t willing to stick her neck out for her. That alone wouldn’t turn Sun against Brina, but it would be one of those little cracks that tend to accumulate. In short, whatever happens, Yvonne gets a desirable outcome. A villain smart enough to set up a no-lose scenario is something I definitely dig.
Gets excited by the chance to see Star Wars characters!
Poor Topher, my ass. He’s a sleazebag, and he deserves whatever Krystin dishes out. What a punk for the assumption on the diet soda though – it really doesn’t mix as well as the regular. ^.^ It’s an interesting thought, Sabrina in a stable – but I don’t see it. She seems more the loner type despite her friendships.
Hazing..
in our country hazing is rampant.. heheh!!
speaking of pledging or hazing.. is like S.E.S (Straight Edge Society) .. in which Sun is under going.. better to pay the bill? or shaving bald?
another club will be Mr. McMahon club.. it’s elite club.. kiss *** club.. better paying the bill? or kissing ***?
I wonder how Hell’s Belles hazing or pledging a new member? (any answer her Albone)
from what I observe Yvonne.. she’s a dealer, business woman than a wrestler.. in this episode, Yvonne didn’t get mad at Sabrina.. more than a civil, business talk..
another note or difference being unlock in Rival Angels..
Chloe, is easily offended.. Chloe is more like a ‘White Queen’ highest rank of all.. while Yvonne use business talk to gain her advantage, in which win win situation, or win for Yvonne while the other is just mutual..
Yvonne’s character.. is more like silent… even the provoke, she won’t attack.. like a couch.. review episode 286.. even Josephine York bad mouth Yvonne, she just stay cool.. and always did a job with her hands clean..
while Chloe did her job, with an aftermath of bloody hands..
Yvonne: Sabrina, Marina never told you what happened to your mother did she?
Brina: she told me enough. she told me that YOU retired her!
Yvonne: No Sabrina <dramtic pause> I AM your mother!!!!!!!
Brina: NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Yvonne: Search your feelings, you know it to be true! Join Damage Inc and together we can rule Rival Angels as mother and daughter!
Brina: NO! I’ll never join you! <does an Ultrasplash from the top of the balcony>
Yvonne looking over the balcony railing: I’ll take that as a maybe.
That was really funny.
Oh, boy. Yvonne’s doing well here in terms of characterization. I like Sabrina’s responses, too. Nice to see where it’s going.
I’m going to play devil’s advocate here and say Yvonne kind of has a point. As much as I like Sun she is not a team player. I don’t know that hazing is really going to make Sun into someone who puts the group ahead of herself, but it’s something to prove you really want in, I suppose.
Sabrina is more of a team player, and could probably use someone watching her back since she keeps pissing off Helle’s Belles. But she probably doesn’t want to join the bitchy sorority.
It does make me wonder how wrestling stables would do their recruiting, if wrestling was legit. I personally would not have wanted to be a young guy joining the NWO if it meant I had to get Nash and Hall’s drinks- real fast way to go broke.
For those that don’t know the Imperial March for shame! Although I was expecting Yvonne to say: “Join us Sabrina… together we could take over Rival Angels! There would be no stable that could stop us… not even Hell’s Belle’s… Search your feelings… you know this to be true.”
Ha! I’m glad everyone got a kick out of the Star Wars bit in this update. 🙂
Picky, well they will if they want her! lol
Champ, you were so close but you’re always #1 with me. (Actually, the belt says you’re #1). Brina does have something on her mind, but you have to think there’s a little bit of pride that someone like Yvonne wants her.
jabberwocky, she is one smooth customer, that Yvonne Carmichael. Scooping half of the incoming rookies would be a pretty big boon to Damage Inc, not to mention you have the UltraDragon synergy going already. But, Sabrina’s not down for it. Now, as to any intended or unintended consequences…well, keep reading.
Adon, I can see that you can appreciate how Yvonne operates. Like you said, Yvonne wins out either way there though clearly she’d rather have someone like Sabrina in the fold especially with Sun and Sabrina helping each other out already anyways.
Snowy, be on the lookout for any stray lightsabers!
LOL Amanda! Yeah, Topher definitely has it coming but don’t be too sure that the drink is for sure diet. Krystin might just be making Topher work. 😉 I totally agree with you that Sabrina on a team would be interesting, but she’s got that loner thing going on right now.
Hey MGC! Well, the Belles haven’t had any new members since Jennifer and she got in on the strength of her relationship with Kat. It would be interesting to see what they might do if they did have some sort of initiation. Damage Inc knows not to push too hard, but they want to make sure that new members will do the crap stuff so they know that they can count on them when it counts. Yvonne and Chloe are some of the best minds in the business but as you’ve seen, they have very different ways of doing business. I can’t say one is better than the other, but it’s fun to see the difference.
LMAO jpiv! Especially that last bit with the Ultrasplash and Yvonne’s remarks. Hi-larious.
Thanks darkmark! We’ve definitely hit the point where just about all of these stories have hit their apex and now we’re going to see the results very shortly. 😉
Ken, you and me both….wondering how real world stables might work. This is my thinking and the complexities of different personalities. We both know that Sabrina is the better team player but she’s the one that keeps turning stables down. Sun is the natural lone wolf but she recognizes strength in numbers. And Yvonne trying to position herself better over the competition. It’s all very chess game. And LOL to having to foot the bar bill for Nash and Hall!! XD
Hey Kurt! Really it was just an excuse to post the theme to the Imperial March. LOL I think Yvonne would’ve had Sabrina if she had said that, playing on Sabrina’s nerd factor.
No, Sabrina, the Imperial March is far too awesome for anyone in RA short of the Commissioner. Not even Hell’s Belles are sufficiently classy/evil enough to deserve even a sniff of that theme music. Could go fairly well with strappy Italian boots, though. ::grin:: As for the recruitment speech, I suspect that Yvonne is out-clevering herself a little here. This is Sabrina she’s talking to, who is not a schemer or even much of a realist as anyone around RA would call it. Saying that ‘hazing’ is necessary for any reason is going to go right over her head and trip her indignation switch. Saying that she could get an easier route will turn it up even worse. Just my read, buy Yvonne could have gotten a better response if she’d said something like “Look, you’re a team player, and your friend is already with us. If you don’t like how we handle newbies, then why don’t you join up and split the burden with her? When you’re both established enough that we can trust you, then we can talk about the hazing thing.”
But Yvonne has a point. That wasn’t a no. Doesn’t mean Sabrina will say yes, but it doesn’t mean she’ll definitely say no, either. Instead, Yvonne might get it in her head to get Sabrina in Damage, Inc. no matter what and pursue a situation in which Sabrina fights a match, maybe against Sun just to rub salt on the impending wound no matter to whom it’s inflicted, in which if Sabrina wins, Sun leaves Damage, Inc., something she wanted to happen from the very beginning, or if Sun wins, Sabrina joins Damage, Inc., something she apparently wanted to avoid.
Of course, for every master manipulater, a legal foil. Maybe it comes to light that it’s a condition of employment in Rival Angels that rookies can’t join stables for their first full year and not even Yvonne knew about this. Maybe it’s a rule of stables in Rival Angels that they can’t have more than a set number of members or that they have to be one type or the other.
*Makes a note to have Cookie Ogre over to see my thigh highs. Black patent, ruby eel skin, shark and snake. Oh darn! I hope Bitsy didn’t hear that!
(Thanks, boss. You’re #1 too! 🙂 )
And the plot thickens…
– everyone else took the good lines…
One word, milady….Rawr! But still, you’ve got a ways to go to convince me you’re that evil.
Yvonne is pretty cunning, however, does picking up huge bartabs really show you could count on someone? I don’t quite get how making someone pay for your drinks builds trust.
Dark side indeed.
Cookie Ogre, I think the direct approach would’ve worked with Sabrina too. Basically, Yvonne’s trying to keep it real with her though she did try to play the ‘team’ card with her. But really, Yvonne knew it was going to be a tough sell no matter what but she was in a no-lose situation so she took a shot and got a better response than she though.
Tarrasque, I like to think of Yvonne as Lawful Evil so she’s going to try and use ever rule to her advantage. That doesn’t mean that someone else can’t run the same game on her though. O_o It’s kind of funny how Sabrina, the team player is avoiding stables and Sun, the lone wolf wants to join.
🙂 @ Bren.
GhostEraser, I know how it is, man. XD
Chris, I think you need to be a part of the darkside to *truly* understand. XD Honestly, I picked that bit up about the bar tab from football (specifically the Chargers rookies) and Metallica, when they brought in Newstad.
Don’t let other people walk all over you, Sabrina. That girl needs a punch in the nose!
