And just when you might’ve thought that things couldn’t get more chaotic, the cavalry arrives, though terribly late. The fallout continues on Monday.

It wasn’t me! I love it LoL But the cat’s out of the bag anyway.
The last frame is right on. Very sweet.
Hmmm no visible strange bend or point in the arm so it is still unclear if it is just badly damage or broken *waits for Mondays >.<*. Depending on the extent of the damage, best case scenario for the Belles concerning the GM, Katherine should strip of her chance for the TV Title cause nothing says PR nightmare like an athlete involved in a real life assault and battery case or criminal problems. If don’t believe me ask Tank Williams or Cendric Benson how it helped their time on the Bears.
Despite what you think of Sabrina’s attitude/personality, you have to give her credit for understanding that the Belles attack failed to “break” her spirit or principles by saying “I give up”. The body heals and wounds fade but you surrender your principles to other individuals’ desire that is much harder to regain. I have to say that last panel is both touching and heart breaking for the two BFFs, nice job and keep up the good work.
(Ha! I squeeked out first post, JW! 😛 )
I think you mean ‘cavalry’, Boney. Calvary is something completely different.
hmm i’m not sure jabberwocky. the Belles could have theoretically gone on and ended Sabrina’s career right then and there for all Brina knew at that moment. a meaningless “i give up” as long as Sabrina herself knows it’s just BS, gives her a chance to get back at them at closer to 100% that much sooner than just letting the beating go on and on. There was no inkling that Chloe was going to stop even after slamming the cover on Brina’s arm like she did. so living to fight another day would make more sense to me.
now she may have a cracked femur (if not broken bone completely) which may cost her her PPV appearance (though since this is a comic i expect her to be healthy enough to compete given all the build leading up to it), her push up the card and the chance for any sort of revenge until the bone heals.
all just so she could announce “i didn’t say it.”
and glad to see Vincent still “Man-ing up” even to the end though. was half expecting to him to be looking away, covering his face with his arms and hands, leaning sideways with one foot in the air as he was saying it.
This is a femur.
This is what you meant to say.
<Vincent> “It wasn’t me! It was the one-armed man!” Had to get that one in there. Anyone else note that What’shisbucket the dork Kristin went off with wasn’t in panel 5? Perhaps the rental insurance line sunk him for good. 😉
jpiv, this is Sabrina we’re talking about here. Whether she has enough brains to do it that way, she doesn’t have the wiggle room in her moral makeup. I swear, the only reason she’s not out there as Supergirl is because someone explained copyright infringement lawsuits to her. To tell a lie that she could benefit by, even if it means taking less hurt, that’s not Truth, Justice, and the American Way. And when you get down to it, would Chloe really have stopped even if Sabrina HAD uttered the words?
Sun said “it’s okay sweety”
Sun is treating Sabrina are similar to Katherine and Jennifer..could it be?
Sabrina said “I didn’t said”
The damage is been done.. I don’t think, Sabrina didn’t say I quit.. is still valid..
but there would be a chance that Chloe would have stopped if Brina said it vs. 100% Chloe was going to do it if she didn’t. slim odds are better than none to me cookie 🙂
the lack of being able to sustain flight probably didn;t help her get the Supergirl gimmick either. I mean Marina had to set up mats for her in the flash back ;P
I’m glad the beating is over and that Sun is by Sabrina’s side. My guess: Sun will reestablish ties with the Upstarts; the other girls are gonna lay a serious payback on the Belles; the Commish is going to fine the Belles within an inch of their lives, and penalize Chloe as much as she can without firing her; Dummy is going to be guilt-tripped for the rest of the series; and it’ll be awhile before Sabrina comes back, but wait till she does!
Wei… look at the concern on Sun’s face. And even through the tears, Sabby trying to be brave… ai-ya… is so sad.
personally, you’d have to be pretty gullible to fall for say give up and i won’t do it. They just beat sabrina up three on one, nothing in chloe’s character has ever shown that vile woman would stop if brina just said I give up.
Champ, congrats on the #1 spot. XD Another commenter mentioned that the Vincent line is so good, as if Vincent would be able to beat Sabrina down in the first place. 😛
Jabberwocky, way to tie in the Bears to Rival Angels, both being in Chicago. 😀 You can believe that we’ll be getting the prognosis on Sabrina ASAP. As we know Sabrina can be stubborn, I think too she’s a bit of a control freak and knowing that she had no control in this one-sided beatdown, the only thing she could do was to make it hard on the Belles and make them decide how to proceed. Sort of like Matt Damon’s character in Good Will Hunting when he choose the pipe to be beaten with over the belt. Of course, they both have to pay the consequences for their choices. I’m glad the last panel did it’s job too.
Thanks Tarrasque. Fixed!
jpiv, I totally see where you’re coming from. There’s plenty of fighters who are knuckleheads and suffer a serious injury instead of fighting another day. They end up in rehab for months instead of fighting next week. However, in an alley fight, there are no rules and no assurances that honor will be upheld. Plus, Sabrina can be stubborn. I think you’ve got a really good grasp of Chloe which is why you thought of the possibility that she might have relented if Sabrina would’ve broke. I won’t say (cause this is more fun) if she would or wouldn’t have let up if Sabrina gave her what she wanted BUT do you think that there’s a chance that Chloe would’ve turned the heat up even more if Sabrina ‘gave up,’ given the mental (terrorizing) state that Chloe was in? I think this is a moot point if Kat would’ve been more firm with Chloe. Vincent was just as effective as if he was covering his head with his arms in the fetal position. XD
Cookie Ogre, any Chicago reference is good with me and Fugitive fits nicely. XD I think it’s a really interesting debate to guess what could’ve been between Chloe and Sabrina. These girls are so far past the point of no return, it’s hard to get a good read on it. Sabrina does have some stubbornly high principles despite the company that she keeps and she’s dealing with the price of those principles now.
LOL MGC. The only way that Sun and Sabrina end up like Kat and Jen is in your dreams. At least for now. XD If you think about it, Chloe and Sabrina kept thier heat. Sabrina stuck to her guns and Chloe was the megalomaniacal bringer of pain. The DeSade name isn’t coincidence. 😉
Darkmark, so many good comments and predictions and sadly, so many that I can’t comment on for fear of ruining anything. 😛 But I can say that it won’t take long to find out the results of some of your thinkings.
I agree DynaMoChen. Oh man, wait til next panel!
Hey Alex! It’s hard to fault that logic. Chloe is a mean woman who’s just a likely to increase the pain as she would be to relent. Alas, we’ll never know for sure!!
Sabrina can NEVER ever give up, even to her great detriment. She’s Cena with estrogen. She’ll “Never Give Up”, like a certain orange and blue t-shirt wearing dude. Hey, maybe she should get a tshirt of her own like that.
“Let’s go Sabrina!” “Sabrina sucks!” “Let’s go Sabrina!” “Sabrina sucks!”
Albone: after this horrible atrocity, you gotta make Sabrina and Chloe have a test of arm strength in the ring. that’ll bring out some intensity don’t you think? :p
lol
Ouch, Sabrina is in some pretty terrible shape.
Topher still sucks.
Vincent sounds a lot like Han Solo: “It’s not my fault!” But of course, Vinnie is WAY down on the “coolness” scale…
I think that Sabrina has nothing else in her life bigger than herself. If she had kids to worry about, she might realize that getting out of such a situation intact would be worth nearly any price she’d have to pay to the hell bellies. I can’t wait to see the hell bellies get the snot beat out of them!
She did not say it…oh brother. Your gonna make me start hating Cena as much as I am hating Sabrina now. And I like Cena.
Either way, cant wait for Monday
IMHO as a former massage therapist, both the ulna and the radius bones are undoubtedly broken. I can’t see how they cannot be. Sabrina’s doctors are probably going to bring out the metal implants to repair the damage. It’s going to take her a long f’n time to heal up. And her arm will never be the same again. If she sticks with wrestling, she’s going to have to learn a whole new set of moves.
BTW, it is possible to hide a pair of brass knuckles inside a plaster cast.
Sun’s going to single handedly smoke their asses…one by one…while they’re trying to attack her at the same time.
James, I think if Sabrina ever gets into the world title picture you can compare her to Cena, though I’ve never understood why people don’t like him. I mean, he’s a hard worker, isn’t he? A test of strength between Chloe and Sabrina would be fairly picturesque, I think.
Chris, I agree with you on both counts. XD
GhostEraser, yah, way down the list. lol Good point about Sabrina and what she has to win/lose. Her priorities are a lot less complicated with her looking out just for herself. It’s a curious thing to wonder if she took the beating betting on what was going to happen to the Belles because of it. 😉
BBD, like Dumbledore said, ‘Love Harry, love.’ There’s always going to be haters.
Hey Coel! The prognosis is coming on Sabrina’s arm though I believe next page they’re going to talk amongst themselves about it. I will say that Rich Franklin broke his arm in an MMA fight with Chuck Lidell (blocking a kick of all things and WON) and he’s expected to make a full recovery. Noted on the handy brass knuckle hiding spot. 😉
Trevor, it’s yet to be seen what our lil dragon is going to do when she catches up with Hell’s Belles. 😉
Oof, that can’t be good.
Honestly, the thing I’m looking forward to is just how deep the hell’s belles are. It’s staggering to think just how much money the business lost because the trio decided to beat up the rising star in an alleyway where no one could watch.
Okay, maybe that’s a little cold, maybe the higher ups do actually care about the physical well-being of their ladies, but I’ll bet that’s going to be a major part of their logic when it comes to dealing out the punishment to the trio. I mean, not only have they cost everyone the money from the PPV special, but if they’ve jacked up her arm permanently…we’re talking millions.
Albone, it’s mostly to do with the character vs the man himself. No one with an ounce of sensibility can fault Cena the man, a genuinely good guy and truly an inspiration when it comes to work ethic and attitude to life in general. But people boo the character because it’s too contrived when he fights back against too incredible odds and is unabashedly presented as the shining paladin whom everyone is in awe of, friend or foe. The era of edgier WWE faces is still relatively fresh in most people’s minds, and besides it bespeaks a somewhat more mature worldview to be skeptical of shining paragons of humanity, especially when presented through the medium of WWE programming. You ever noticed the haters will tend to cheer Cena when his character shows a bit of an edge? e.g. when he goes into a dark rage. They like convincing characterization, not a kid’s version of an infallible superhero. And they don’t dislike the person himself unless they’re total assholes.
In any case, “Ultragirl” Sabrina already has a gimmick that makes her practically world champion material. So I already classify her in this “Super” character category. Not necessarily a bad thing, certainly I’d say her character has more depth than Cena’s… lol.
So how involved is Gabrielle in pulling strings behind all this? I’m curious since she seems to be such a puppet master.
I think amanda has a point. Gabrielle seems to know an awful lot of what goes on behind the scenes (Brooke and her boytoy, Sabrina and Vincent, etc…). She’s using Krystin to get Sara Valentine, and she could be using the hell bellies to hype Sabrina even more, giving her an underdog back story.
One other note: a club like the Red Line must have security inside and cameras in the alley for just such an event as this beating. The hell bellies probably had to pay off the kid watching the camera feeds and/or otherwise distract him.
Hey Adder! I promise you won’t have to wait too long to see what happens with the Belles especially after we find out what’s wrong with Sabrina. And we’ll see just the higher ups think of this incident on a personal and professional level.
Thanks for breaking it down, James! I have to confess there was one instance where I was in disbelief with Cena. He just came back from neck surgery and fighting Jericho for the title and he came out backed by an army of kids. I felt that was overboard. Personally, I’d take Cena over HHH any day of the week but unfortunately, my hours at work got cut and one of the things that had to go was cable so I’m stuck to reading about the results and quick YouTube clips. 😛
Amanda, I think we know that Gabrielle is going to have an opinion on this one way or the other and any involvement by the Commissioner is going to come out pretty quick.
Good points, GhostEraser! There is a security camera in the alley way and can be seen at the top of page 387 but looking at it again, it’s a terribly drawn camera. 😛 But you’re right, security is getting all of this. Gabrielle makes it her business to know everything so if she’s not aware of this already, she’s going to find out very quickly.
Hmm…a camera indeed. Means that there’s more than just the word of the wimpy guy.
On the other hand…it does reveal with certainty that Sabrina WAS the one who struck first. While you might be able to argue that the three weren’t there for just some girl talk, somehow I wonder if that will work against her.
