Ah, and just like that, the tide can turn. Can the wily vet, Sara hang on to her newfound advantage?
C2E2 and Graphic Novel #3
Just a quick reminder that I’ll be at C2E2 all weekend in Artist Alley C8, with the new Graphic Novel (with covers by Lora Innes and Sara Ellerton) and I’ll also be doing commissions. Do you have a favorite character or original character you’d like to see? Maybe you’d like to see Brooke vs Sun or something else? The good news is that you can order one even if you’re not going to be at the con! Check here for details!
Voting Incentive!
Vote to find out why it looks like Krystin might be in trouble on Friday’s update!
Nothing fancy or technical about an eye gouge, but damn if it isn’t effective. I can tell right now that this match is going to be a out and out donnybrook with momentum switching more than a metronome on caffine
Wow… Sara must be tougher than she looks. ‘Cuz after the first few wallops Krystin put on her – she’s back in the saddle by the VI.
The ol’ eye rake, one of the greatest tools in a rule-breaking wrestler’s arsenal. I know Def Tech can recover, though, cause she’s just that good.
Looking forward to picking up Book 3 this Friday at C2E2.
Okay now…correct me if I’m wrong on it.
I know that the point of being a heel is rule breaking, looking good while doing it, and using it to your advantage.
But don’t I seem to recall that attacking another person’s eyes is one of those things they really tend to put their foot down on? Cause…eye damage. That’s not something that can be fixed easy. Granted, it doesn’t look like she’s gotten Def tech bad here, but the threat of it…that’s not just a career ender, that’s a life changer.
Yeah, clawing at the eyes? Effective, but so uncool. (And not to D&D this up, but I bet Krystin totally has the blind-fighting feat anyway…)
Oh yah, the blind-fighting feat is all kinds of handy!
Agreements, Alana! Most uncool, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to come back to haunt her. (I’m pretty sure Krystin has Improved Trip, Improved Disarm, and everything else that requires Combat Expertise!)
As a moment of charity for the wrestling-impaired, can anyone tell me if a LWS match still has all the same rules for disqualifications? If weapons are legal in this one, Sara is in HUGE trouble since there are three (maybe four) people out there all too willing to manage Krystin’s arsenal!
Owch! That’s pretty low, even for a LWS match! Kick her in the head Krystin!
The eye scratch opens doors to places she might not want to go. It got her a break in the short term, but carries a high interest rate. Payback will cost her a lot.
Well that’s a sight for sore eyes… haha I kill me. I doubt I’ll be able to see the Friday page as we’ll be at C2E2 interviewing such fine people like Alan Evans and the lot 🙂 But I’m sure I’ll get to see it when I stagger back from the local pubs.
well you can see Sara’s in real trouble. Most folk go for the single eye gouge but Sara’s desperate enough to break the momentum that she goes for double eye gouge to take control of the match. all the moves in the world can’t help if you cn;t see who you’re putting them on. And i see this lady ref has all the high profile matches (ie. the ones we actually see lots of) on this PPV, this isn’t Gabby’s unacknowledged relative or something is she? 😉
wait a sec- is there an actual Brooke tee shirt sighting in panel 2?
<Leaves>
“Woohoo you go get her Sassy. Now that two zipcode ass has finally stopped illegally attacking you outside the ring before the match even started with foreign objects, your superior in ring skills quickly puts you back in control like always. Quick show her your Hogan impersonation!”
You said it, Donny. It’s not pretty, but it works. Yeah, the momentum looks to switch sides more than a rubicks cube!
Dyna, the thing is that Sara’s pretty tough, despite her sassy schoolgirl exterior. But don’t let the last panel fool ya though. It was an out and out desperation move as she was getting completely overwhelmed. But you know, I’ve been known to be tricky with my voting incentives… 😉
Chris, she IS that good and with fans like you having her back, there’s not much she can’t do. Looking forward to seeing you on Friday!
Adder, totally agree with you here and not that Sara has any excuse, but it was a desperation attempt on her part to avoid being steamrolled by Def Tech. Sara hasn’t been doing a very good job of endearing herself much to anyone lately, much less the fans and readers.
Hey Alana! Sara’s actions so far have been pretty uncool, but very cool to bring the D&D perspective! Let’s not forget that Krystin has Dragon’s toughness and Improved Critical! Of course, Sara is showing her sneak attack prowess couples with Dirty Fighting for an extra 1D6. XD
Cookie Ogre, in this instance, this LWS match is No-DQ. That might favor Sara initially with weapons and tactics, we know that Krystin has a lot more friends, and we know that Krystin’s mom would like a shot at Sara. O_o
Golden Girl, I do believe that Krystin will try to honor that request, just as soon as she gets the upper hand. XD
Champ, way to put that zen-poetic spin on the happenings. You can bet that Krystin won’t soon forget the eye rake, but we might not have hit bottom as far as underhanded tactics in this match go.
Hey Kurt! Totally looking forward to seeing you at C2E2 this weekend! With puns like that, you could easily be a ringside interviewer. XD
Ninja’d by jpiv! Excellent catch at seeing Brooke’s ‘hearbreaker’ T-shirt! XD And another good catch at seeing that referee Sharon Gonzalez is in charge of the action. She’s not a relative of Gabby’s, but Gabby trusts her. With Krystin blinded, it is a wonder how she can fight back. And pretty Minxy…. lol. Her and Jeff would have a field day calling this match.
Have fun at C2E2, Albone!
Ouch, she went for the eyes. Next she’s going to give Krystin a big ol’ punch to the kooter….
But, Trev… That’s your response to everything… Need to try Dialog once in a while. Talk things out and not resort to punching…
Well it looks like the fight won’t be one sided but the question still remains is it enough to turn the tide or someone still so ticked they will not give up?
You know I’ve always been kinda curious is Hellacious a real word? other then that i think im going to enjoy watching this fight jobs on the line families in attendance would be lovers sexualy harassed what more could you ask for
To the dnd stuff I’m actually sure that Krystin is a 4E barbarian and raging right now. I fully expect her to just come back and smash the bitch hard.
Getting nasty. Hope it stays that way.
Krystin is too awesome for 4E. She is Pathfinder, all the way. With a very high CMB. 🙂
I will try, Stygimoloch. XD
@ Trevor: You tell ’em, Kurt!
Good questions, Snowy, ones that I’m happy to say will be answered soon.
Comichero, ‘hellacious,’ is indeed a word! Imagine my surprise. I thought it was something that JR invented. Definitely big emotions in this fight.
Tiffany, good call. If Krystin had ‘destructive rage’ she’d be obliterating the barricade and ringside area. XD As soon as Krystin gets her sight back, you can bet that she’ll resume the beating…if she gets it back.
@ Darkmark…. 🙂
Ah, Cookie Ogre….i’ve heard of Pathfinder, but I’ve never played and barely seen it, but I will take your word for it. In the interest of full disclosure, I have the 4e books, but never played it yet. I played 3ed for a LONG time.
lets go Valentine! now knee’s in the groin, must be brutal and illegal! 😛
Im all for Valentine to do nasty stuff in that match 😀
Seriously Al! that match must be close and both wrestler must be totally destroyed and then have a winner 😛
Hellacious? Oh Hell no! Mo Chen knew it wasn’t JR word. My managa’ JC been saying it since he was a kid.
And yup I know. Howling strike+chair=one dead skank..
