Not a very good sequence for Maddie or Sara. Can either of them recover? And just what is Maddie going to do now?

C2E2 Interview!
My friend and longtime Rival Angels reader/commenter Kurt Sasso interviewed me at C2E2 a few weeks ago and it’s ready for you to check out!
Voting Incentive!
Could this be the beginning of the end for Krystin and Sara? Vote to see Monday’s update!
I’m sure Maddie’s just happy it isn’t Sabrina since she was always so worried about her.
And there’s the brilliance of DefTech on display. What better way to win a Last Woman Standing match than kicking your opponents legs right out from underneath them.
Ouch! Knees don’t bend that way. Well, they do, obviously. But they’re not supposed to. She could be done here, and out of action for some time to come.
Well I could do with a valet…
Ah Broken minds and joints, a brutal update smashes Maddie and Sara. Here is hopping that Micheal’s shattered nads is added to that list in the near future, at least he will have frame 3 to “heal” him and many Brooke fans like to see lol *cough*. Ms Moline is going for the Orton method, cripple your opponent or tko them and they can’t fight back.
Well then.
It’s clear from the silouette that there’s no way she could have mistaken Brooke for being sabrina, not with a rack like that. And anyways, if the events in the ring are any indication, she’s about to get more proof against denial as Sabrina has to show up to the ring soon, something that isn’t gonna happen when you’re in that situation.
And there goes the other leg. From the sounds of it, that may have been a fracture too. there’s no way she can pull another “after school special” with two busted legs. Not if she wants to walk outa the ring anyways.
Wow… even the shadow of Brooke’s silicone sacks weighs 5 pounds! Sara, hun… lay down! Is it worth your career, silly jien hou?
Sara has guts and sometimes that means doing the dumbest things.
well I dont know if its the shadows or what, but the fireworks are going to fly either way 🙂 Krystin better wrap up this match because going for the kill could give way to mistakes…
A real long time ago, when I was living back in Lake Arrowhead in the San Bernardino Mountains, I was wrestling a female friend of mine on the rear deck of this house. She was a big girl. She was a tad over six feet tall and as solid as a redwood. We were throwing each other around and our friends were afraid that we were going to send each other to the hospital.
My step niece stepped in between us, she was only eight at the time, and demanded that she could play too. My friend and I explained to her that she was only a little kid and could get hurt. Then we both shooed her away. But then she came up from behind me and kicked me in the back of my left knee and down I went. I was unable to walk for weeks and that leg has given me nothing but trouble ever since.
If Sara knew what was good for her, she’d quit now. And I can say that from experience.
Some is caught and as such will loose something really good for fluff. Then a bad move has cost someone else the fight. Now the question is how much punishment will she be willing to take before giving up?
::steps back from the cake diorama of Krystin dressing Sara in a nun habit:: It’s done, and it’s beautiful. And just in time! ::quickly mails a nun habit to the ring via courier:: And it may be possible that Maddy’s gotten a bad enough angle on Brooke to mistake her for Sabrina, but I’m hoping not.
I think it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to tell that Brooke’s are bigger than Sabrina’s, even if they are plastic, so even if Maddie can’t make out that it’s Brooke, it should get Sabrina off the hook if she can see that much, and judging by the shadow, I think she can. Even then, does it really matter who she thinks Michael is with? She’s caught him with another woman. Regardless of who Maddie thinks it is, there’s going to be hell to pay. You know what they say about scorned women.
Still in Vacation..
hmmm! I wonder if Michael doing that what he is doing. he energized himself..
“By the Power of Greyskull”
“I HAVE THE POWER……”
forgot?
I thought Michael and Brooke.. broke? remember the black eye..
Michael’s excuses:
1. I was just examining Brooke off ring capabilities, you know.. that Maddie, I also did it to Krystin and Sabrina…
=Result?
Maddie summoned ” Release the Kroken”
2. Michael shouted to Brooke ” I hand me you filthy woman..”
Michael said to Maddie “look, she drugged me, and took my clothes off…”
3. Michael said t o Maddie “I really thought I’m doing it to you Maddie? Brooke cosplayed as you.. and I thought you did a boob job too..”
4. Michael said to Maddie “well… she is a goddess..”
(Angelmania)
Main event:
Maddie VS ‘GoDDess’ Brooke Lennox
If a guy cheats on his woman long enough, even the dumbest chick will catch on eventually. The guy will get stupid or careless at some point, and the woman will get suspicious. Only good thing I can say here is that at least it’s only an engagement, so Michael doesn’t lose half his money.
I like this particular match. I think while working a body part is a classic tool of wrestling psychology, in a wrestling comic you’re going to focus more on the really visually impressive moves, the power bomb, the shooting star press, etc. To some extent that’s the same strategy as an indy wrestling company. In this series you have it both ways, because you work the leg, but you make it visually impressive, like in panel 5 there. That’s pretty cool.
well the truth hurts don’t it Maddie? after you finish that humble pie i think someone may need an ultra-apology. Unless of course Maddie’s shocked enough not to see anything besides “blond” and go after brina anyway.
Krystin’s definitely in control now but i don;t know if that pnael 5 look of confiende (or over confidence) might come back to bite her in the end. Sara is going to have trouble walking period after this match at this rate. Though you have to hand it to her, Sara’s not taking the easy way out and just lying down in true heel fashion to avoid further punishment and thwarting Krystin’s full revenge.
“REF! What’s this all about?!?! Sassy hadn’t even let go of the ropes yet and tubby’s already attacking her. She should be disqualified for that! C’Mon Sassy don’t let that cheater win! <takes a peek and still sees security watching her closely>”
And more with Krystin’s assault on Sara’s knee/leg. I don’t know if Sara’s going to be able to come back after that kick. I’ve taken kicks/shots to the thigh and knee plenty of times in my life, and if the charlie horse doesn’t keep Sara down for at least a 5 count, the damage to the knee bending that way, coupled with the damage Krystin’s already done to that leg is going to definatly going to make it hard for Sara to 1) get up for a 10 count, and 2) able to amount any sort of substantial offense. Sara’s a high flier type wrestler, and her legs make up for 90% of her offense.
Sara’s not a main high flyer, she’s a brawler before high flier.
I know exactly what Maddie is going to do. Run away crying, fall into the arms of the first guy she sees (presumably an attractive bald man from Chicago who’s a big fan of Brooke), and the two fall instantly in love – and make with the whoopie right there in the hallway!
I just wrote your next 3 pages, buddy. 😛
I smell a Pulitzer!
LOL Chris, I think Sabrina is the least of Maddie’s worries right now. XD You are in good company with the admiration of the Def Tech game plan coming together. Def Tech might be able to think about putting Sara away for good. Maybe.
Champ, that would be some serious sassy redhead power if you had Sara valet for you. Of course, she could certainly learn a lesson or two. XD Yeah, the sports medicine guys in the back are cringing right now.
jabberwocky, so far the Def Tech playbook is back on track and Sara literally doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Michael/Maddie/Brooke triangle is about to get a whole lot messier. But yeah, Michael’s got a lot of material in the ‘mental archive’ of Brooke. XD
Adder, that is a pragmatic way to look at exonerating Sabrina. Most if not all athletes abstain before a match/game/etc. Maddie’s been pretty blind for a while, but she can’t confuse Brooke with Sabrina, even with the low lights. It’s getting pretty rough in there with Krystin and Sara is going to need something special to get out of this. Maybe on Monday?
Dyna, that might be the most sound advice that anyone can give Sara, but will she listen. As for Brooke, I can already hear her say, ‘Saline. they’re made of saline.’ lol
Kurt, that is some wise thinking for Krystin and even though she’s shown she can fight a good match, she has been prone to impatience. That sort of thing could cost her even this late in the match. As for Maddie/Brooke/Michael, the biggest surprise is yet to come. 😉
Coel, man, what a rough story. I think wrestlers go into the biz knowing that they’re going to be carrying around injuries for the rest of their life, but this is definitely pushing the limits of good sense.
Snowy, that is a very good question for both injured parties. Another good question will be, ‘was it worth it?’
Yay, Cookie Ogre! That’s such a great image, Krystin stuffing Sara into a nun habit. XD Maddie’s been fooling herself for a while, but there’s no mixing up Brooke and Sabrina, especially with Brooke in her birthday suit.
MGC, I hope you are enjoying your vacation! LOL, it’s possible that Michael is energized, but I’d guess he’d be just as content as falling asleep. However, he’s still on the clock and Gabrielle will be missing her assistant soon! I like Michael’s responses in #2 and #3. LOL
Ken, that is the truth. Stupid and careless are good words to describe Michael and his affair with Brooke. Brooke knows exactly what she’s doing. Thanks for the compliment on combining the action with story. 🙂
jpiv, Maddie has definitely run down Sabrina for a while now and it’s a shame that she had to find out the hard way. Krystin is in full shark mode right now and it’s going to be bad news for Sara if she can’t pull out something special. Sara is showing a lot of heart and fight and is a vet so you can’t count her out. If only Minxy was there at ringside. XD
Ninja’d by Donny and Trevor!
Donny, it’s looking a little bleak right now for the sassy schoolgirl. She’s a vet and prone to have an ace up her sleeve, or brass knuckles in her bra, but she needs to use that soon before she not only looses the match but also her ability to walk without a cane.
LOL Trevor! Thanks for the writing help. XD I think the Maddie/Michael/Brooke triangle could use you to spice up the mix.
Darn tootin’ it could! 😉
just got the VI to load up. shame on Krystin making a poor little schoolgirl cry like that ;P looks like the cloverleaf or sharpshooter again this time around. I wonder if this may backfire on Krystin some like Hart/Austin if she keeps this up.
Sara keeps tapping out but since you can;t win like that Krystin keeps the beatdown going and Sara starts getting some sympathy support as Krystin’s had the upper hand except for the one flurry by Sara. Then Sara keeps dragging herself back up for more with only one good leg (half a good leg? a quarter?) like a good face in peril would. Crowd starts admiring/appreciating the ovarialogical fortitude Sara is showing and turns against Krystin.
which would be par for the course for Krystin who can never seem to get the big crowd support Brina gets (until this match pretty much) despite having a more face-type wrestling style than any of the Upstarts. so naturally she’d be the one to have the crowd turn on her for standing up for her family/boyfriend. poor Krystin.
Exactly! Kristen is acting very Heel in this match. She attacked her opponent before the bell, she has targeted a specific body part the whole match. And of course her repertoire of submission moves just screams heel. Sara on the other hand is… a high flyer? How many heel high flyers can you think of? In all of wrestling I can only think of Justin Gabriel. Every other high flyer that goes heel somehow seems to lose their high flyer moves.
Just because WWE can’t seem to find a way to package high flier heels, doesn’t mean that they can’t exist. Look at WCW and their cruiserweight division. Not to mention all the high flying Rudos in Lucha Libre and heels in Puroresu.
Krystin doesn’t really have the charisma to be a face or a heel – she’s really dependent on the other wrestler to establish her role.
In Valentine’s case, her wrestling style is more of a 2 Cold Scorpio than straight high flyer, definitely more in the “garbage” vein.
In some Last Man Standing matches, if Krystin did break the count the referee will have to escort her to a neutral corner before the count begins, as a punishment for interfering. Not sure if holding onto the rope to stay up counts as being up, it varies depending on the federation. And that scenario I stated mainly happens for a face in peril.
The way Krystin has behaved, it has really been a reversal and I think the fan chants should have died down for her by now, especially since Valentine seems to be a more fan liked heel, possibly close to turning face depending on the circumstances since she sometimes teams with Shannon McCourt.
Well, that’s a wowser. The power’s going to be in Maddie’s hands from here on in. She could wreck the careers of both lovers. At least Sabrina’s off the hook.
My knee hurts just looking at that. I will be surprised if Sara gets up after that. It’s times like this, people in this sort of situation really should follow that sage advice their opponent gives them when they shout “STAY DOWN, DAMN IT!” Sure, they lose the match, but at the same time, it spares them any number of sidelining or career-ending injuries. Of course, there is that whole thing about the audience turning against Krystin if she keeps it up and Sara keeps getting up, which may be a good thing for Sara. Still, I’d rather keep my career, even if I would be gone for a few months with a broken leg than get a true face turn.
Bring the pain, Maddie. That’s not a look of pleasant surprise that matches any I’ve seen, so that’s all but it for the theory of her joining them in. Maddie… That short for Madelyn, or however she cares to spell it? Trying really hard, though, not to say anything about not seeing Brooke. Wait…
Welcome everyone to fused-knee city.
Population: Sara Valentine.
Then again its not the end of the world. Just because your knees cease to function doesn’t mean you can’t wrestle. I mean look at the Undertaker. The guy’s joints have worn away and he still hobbled and staggered to 19 – 0 !
jpiv, yeah the VI isn’t looking too good for Sara. On the one hand, Krystin doesn’t personally need the fan support, but on the other, she thinks that she’s the best wrestler in Rival Angels and should be getting pops like Sabrina. It’s a dilemma but not one that is keeping her up at night. Things could get a lot more murky for Def Tech should things go down like that and the way that Sara is holding out, it very well could.
Ph3n0m/Picky, it was more or less established in the beginning of the fight that Sara was the hell when she went after Krystin’s family and boyfriend. And Krystin’s not doing anything wrong per se with her strategy. This is after all a Last Woman Standing match where there are only a few rules. But I totally respect if your support is with Sara. Sassy schoolgirls need love too.
Donny, that is a good point about heel high flyers. Jeff Hardy was a heel for a minute in TNA. It seems high flying gets the fan pops. And even though we don’t see her, Lover Lola from the Towers of Terror is a high flyer.
Well said, Darkmark. *nods*
You said it, Tarrasque. Sara needs to stay down so she can fight another day. You see it all the time in MMA with submissions and for all the good reasons you stated. Sara IS tough as we’ve seen but is she crazy too? Maddie is short for Madeline. 🙂 And yeah, she’s got them, finally and their affair. You can bet that this situation will have a reckoning.
LOL Prestwick! That’s a good point about Undertaker, but I think Sara likes having the ability to motion in her legs. XD
On the subject of high flying heels wasn’t John Morrison a heel when he was with the Miz as a tag team…okay he wasn’t doing any of the stuff he does now but I guess technically he was an award winning heel (slammy award remember).
There’s been a few, but the heel high flyers seem to go face pretty quick. Jeff Hardy in TNA has had a heel streak for a bit. Sabu and RVD in ECW were longtime heels, though people still really dug them anyways. I think Billy Kidman while he was with Raven’s flock counts, and the Motorcity Machineguns were high-flying heels and a tag team to boot! But these really are exceptions to the rule.
My point was that High Flying Heels lose most or all of their moveset when they turn heel, at least in WWE and TNA. Gail Kim is a good example. Whenever she’s face she has a ton of top-rope moves. When she’s heel its submission-focused and very few moves that have her feet leave the ground and the only use of the ropes is choking and holding them.
No Al, Sabu was anways will be comedy gold.
Sorry I meant “was and always will be comedy gold.”
No idea what happened here..
LOL! His and RVD’s promos were awesome! But yeah, co-sign on Sabu.
