Chapter: Chapter 19 - The Big Night
Characters: Chloe De Sade, Sabrina Mancini
When in doubt, Sabrina’s motivational rage is good to jump start the offense. But can she sustain on that? Looking at this page, I’d say it’s doing it’s job.

Woooo!! Kick her ASS!! Mo Chen is totally jazzed!!!
Sabrina Smash ! !Bet she wishes that she had the Hulk’s current Hammer from Fear Itself, would definitely beat that kendo stick.
This is great. When does the action start? (ducks and runs)
Yawn so Sabrina is just fighting angry. That boost is not going to last long. It always ends fast and not well at all.Sabrina better find herself lucky that Chloe has been going soft on her….for now. But going by the update….playtime is about to be over.
Everything Chloe does is so….elegant.
Yes, she is so elegantly going to go for the weapon, giving up on the skills you think she has. Whether Sabrina’s fueled solely by rage or not, hitting her with a stick isn’t going to make her run out of that any time soon.
Who here thinks that Sabrina is going to take away De Sade’s kendo stick and turn her into a Popsicle with it?
Nice Ajax from THe Warriors refference
I’m reasonibly sure that “YAAAAY!” was me 😛 Along with lots of jumping and clapping!
Go ‘Brina!
*happy dance*
Well this has been boiling for a while and they say any type of sport that is violent is a bad thing… At least they do it in a controlled environment and best part they can’t get arrested for it 🙂
YES! CHOKE! CHOKE! CHOKE! That’s the sort of thing it’ll take to win the match, Sabrina! MORE! MORE THINGS LIKE THAT! TURN HEEL! TURN HEEL!
Wow! Nice flurry! I like the corner work art espeially. Is panel 6 a lung buster? I see a set up for a monkey flip too. WOOT!
Standing lung-blower.. ai-ya! That and her other assaults seem to be going after Chloe’s gut… so Sabby might actually have a strategy here.. not just anger.
Thanks, Mo. Yeah, good strategy too. Chloe’s little round belly might be cute, but won’t stand up long.
BAH GAWD KANG! WE’VE GOT OURSELVES A REAL SLOBBERKNOCKER HERE!
Brina’s running on pure rage at this point and while that’s working to her benefit so far, it’s going to be how she weather’s the inevitable tide turning that’s going to determine how well Brina does here. If Chloe gets the advantage does Brina’s flashbacks start reminding her of all the times she’s been beaten down by Chloe and the Belles leading up to this and she starts to think “here we go again”?
and i see Chloe’s found her “little friend” over there in the VI
De Sade come back please that shouldn’t happen De Sade has nothing a mere slap that was the best she could come up with? Not very creative or effective De Sade has nothing on Brina. And in this match Brina is going to show just how little skill and ability that stupid biatch has.
was that a open or closed fist in the last panel she used
Doesn’t matter, it’s an “I Quit” match, so there’s no DQs, but yes, it was a fist
Yeah, Sabrina should keep working Chloe’s belly, those leg-based submission holds will be much harder to pull off if her core isn’t up to maintaining tension. Also, it’s good mental strategy. If you want to piss someone off then mash a limb, but if you want to ultimately crush them to the point where the fear is deep enough that they never come after you again, then you go for their center. It takes more doing than a leg or an arm, but once it’s done they’re done.
Oooo Mr Ogre! You got a mean streak. I like!
I agree with you… kind of. An arm will just make someone mad. However, if you’re expecting a long, drawn-out battle like this one, and you get an opportunity for a big shot at a thigh or to wrench a knee badly, take it with glee. The damage isn’t as soul-crushing as a body blow… at first. But if you hurt their leg early on…
You limit their ability to commit to a blow, so they can’t hurt you back nearly as easily. You limit their ability to dodge or absorb your hits, or shift balance and position to resist grappling. You limit their ability to adjust to the angle of your attacks, granting you opportunities they didn’t have before. And you just plain limit their mobility, making moving and fighting a self-punishing exercise. If you want to crush somebody’s soul, ruin their leg and then make them dance.
Of course, most of the time, that’s more trouble than it’s worth. Smash the body for a few minutes, and then they’re all yours. But if they give you a chance…
Middle rope missing from last panel?
And while deSade may be lulling her with a reach for her bag of tricks, it would be interesting if after the other bouts Sabrina just overwhelms her early. Would make for some doubly interesting dynamics in her little circle and whether she ends up remaining on top or gets demoted.
Interesting… Me, I’m waiting til the end, because if this match turns out the way I hope it does, I know of a song I want Chloe to hear. And no, it’s not what everybody may think it is when they read this.
The problem with a skilled grappler… They may not be a skilled brawler. Chloe’s legs are her best weapon so far, Sabrina should really be taking a page from her friend’s book.
Oh, wow! Good follow-through on those attacks! I approve! I approve A LOT!
Sabrina’s getting in a lot of solid, telling attacks early in the match, which is going to make a lot of difference as the match goes on. Hard body shots, especially, are fantastic. They leech stamina and strength from the target.
I’m a lot more impressed with Sabrina’s offense in this match so far than I am with Chloe’s – still not sure what that hold was meant to accomplish, and Sabrina’s fighting close enough to how I’d advise her to that I’m all sorts of happy.
She’s remembering that horrible night in the alley when Chloe ruined her pretty new dress. =p Even if Chloe is just weathering the storm as the always-right Jeff thinks, it’s nice to see her catch a beating.
I don’t think it’s pure rage, There’s a lot of build up anger for sure and for good reason. I think she seems still controlled there’s not a lot of fancy moves or show boating. She seems focused. I can’t wait for Monday. This has helped get through the week. I’ve been looking to see if Chloe has skill, I’ve seen none, I mean at least with Jen there was some, even if she was roided out. This is awesome.
Jeff always right what? but agree any time chloe gets beaten down like the spoiled brat she is is a good day
Looks like both combatants here are looking to injure the other’s midsection. Not a bad strategy by any means. Injure the chest, and it’ll hurt every time the person tries to take a breath.
I’m a n00b. Can someone direct me to the comic where Sabrina gets the crap kicked out of her by Chloe via a dumpster lid? Thanks!
Welcome! You can find the Belles treachery starting on https://www.RivalAngels.com/2010/06/18/rival-angels-page-387-awkward-apology/
Thanks. Vincent probably could have jumped in and helped. Loser.
Sabrina is running on fury and adrenalin now, but she has already been through one grueling match tonight that lead to her taking a clean pin in her first title match. There were signs of a concussion following the title match (as well as a number of other hurts), so a sharp blow to the head could turn it around for her. I can’t see Ultragirl surrendering, but I can see her being getting hurt and/or worn down and caught with something that ultimately knocks her out and stops the match. It would also be the more surprising ending since most everyone is expecting a win from her in this one.
In many ways this would be the most interesting conclusion, to see how she could hold up after losing two key bouts, even though she’d have the satisfaction of knowing that she never actually gave up to Chloe. It would also be interesting to see how such an ending would affect her standing with the other upstarts, since all of them came through under the pressure of the PPV. Would she embrace the ‘dark side’ to try to ensure wins after such a night?
In any case, a loss here would make her ultimate revenge all the sweeter. It’s going to be interesting to see this one play out.
Sabrina wipin´out De Sade´s ass is a delightly view. No matter the technique Chloe uses, such images in Sabrina´s head are the combustion she needs to keep the motor hot and roaring. She just need to mantain the focus and give no chance, Chloe is sneaky.
choke her out some more Bree that seems effective also it let you focus your rage and i know ive said this many time since finding RA but you cant fight ina blind rage you have to focus your rage and take it slowlet the fires of your rage be stoked until they are a blazing inferno that de sade cant hope to withstand Bree.
Big K there would be nothing interesting in a brina loss here. Why? Because De Sade just should not have the talent to beat her. De Sades been coasting on her reputation, and overly relying on cheating by her two stooges. To have her actually win would way over stretch belivability.
Tiffany-
I disagree about the believability because of the damage she’s taken earlier in the evening. DeSade would of course brag incessantly about her victory, but that doesn’t mean she actually could have done it without Sabrina having already been hurt. (For a similar ‘real life’ situation, look at the Trish Stratus vs. Jazz match from Backlash 2002. Trish was attacked before the match by Molly Holly, which hurt her enough to make a submission loss convincing without making her look weak in the process.) Further, the arrogance Chloe would surely display in the aftermath of such a win would almost certainly lead her to believe Sabrina isn’t in her league — thus ultimately leading to her own undoing.
My point, though, was that Sabrina is her own toughest critic, and it would be interesting to see her deal with losing both matches in such a high-profile situation, regardless of how mitigating the circumstances might be. She would have to reach down into herself and find a way to get back into a winning mindset. In the process she’d have to take a hard look at herself, an ultimately such self-examination could well be what brings her to the championship level. “Never again” can, after all, be an amazingly strong motivation. Winning this match doesn’t provide her with that (despite her failure to win the title earlier), which is why I think a loss here would make for a more interesting storyline.
PS – I agree that DeSade has been coasting, but there are plenty of heels who have had a long run by having their flunkies and associates cover for them. It’s generally going back to the well too often that does them in, which is where I would ultimately think Sabrina and Chloe should wind up… I just don’t think having it all finish here is the most satisfying way to tie things up.
I sincerely hope ‘Brina beats the “Uppity” out of Desade with that kendo stick and the great part about this situation is the White queen has a whole lot of uppity. “brina better start cracking or it’s gonna be a long night.
